We've finally entered the Season of the Elf, and I couldn't be more pleased. Not only does this mean we're one step closer to the Season of the Crow (and Cloud's story, omg I am dying, I need that book in my hands), but it also means we get to spend some long overdue quality time with our Elven Fae Guardians of the Well.
Forrest has always fascinated me - the strong, silent type with the absolute biggest heart imaginable, A Song of Sky and Sacrifice kicks off where A Symphony of Savage Hearts ended - the aftermath of Willow's kidnapping and Forrest volunteering to enter the human city on a seemingly impossible rescue mission.
You don't get very many virgin hero romances these days - especially in the fantasy romance genre - but Forrest... my soul bleeds for him. Him and Melody both. Where Melody is "seen too much" to the point where not only is every aspect of her person is critiqued and controlled, but nobody seems to truly see or understand her at her core, Forrest is the antithesis - having grown in an environment where he was literally ignored, and the trauma it caused has had him quietly flying under the radar since.
But Melody sees him, and he understands her in the the way she's been needing and craving for so long. The connection between these two makes my heart ache in the best way - it was so easy to relate to both of them.
I feel like each book has an underlying theme that sort of centers around the heroine's newfound powers, and A Song of Sky and Sacrifice is no exception. It's all about being heard, about being recognized, about finding your own voice. I don't want to spoil anything in this book because it deserves to be experienced and enjoyed to the fullest, but suffice it to say, Lana Pecherczyk has knocked another one out of the park. Like it's predecessors in the series, this book is (in my mind) perfect. The characters, the story, the continued world-building, the seeds being planted, the twists, the emotions, the soul, the spice... all of it is just excellent.
A Song of Sky and Sacrifice is a worthy addition to what is shaping up to be one of my most favorite fantasy romance series of all time. Fantastic storytelling. I can already feel the book hangover settling in. This series is exquisite. I can't get enough.

Never before had he wanted to taste a female like her. Never had he been violently drawn toward another. He wanted to consume her with a hunger bordering on irrational.

Lana has kept me wholly entranced by this series from the very first book where Clarke was saved by Rush, and I almost cannot believe how much these characters have evolved and how the story has progressed. Forrest's book picks up right where Shade and Silver's story left off--Willow has been taken by the humans to Crystal City where she's being cared for by Rory, a halfling and Queen Maebh's daughter. Rush, Clarke, and Thorne's main goal continues to be Willow's safe return home, while the rest of the Guardians are concerned with a taint in the Well. However, there is more at stake than Clarke the Seer has let on, and Forrest's mission into Crystal City may not be as simple as he believes....
Melody is from the past, trying to survive her present, while hoping for a better future. She is currently being kept in a gilded cage by President Nero and is forced to spread mostly false propaganda in order to perpetuate hate towards the fae. But once she meets Forrest, who's on a secret rescue mission, she begins to realize how empty her current life is and how her mysterious protector may be exactly what she's been waiting for. The relationship between Forrest and Melody was a sweet, slow-burn romance with just enough heat. My heart cried for Forrest and everything he has endured, and I just loved his vulnerability. Melody wasn't a perfect heroine, but I enjoyed her growth as she learned to trust and love herself. I am so stoked for the rest of the Guardian's books, and I cannot wait to see what more Lana has planned!

Let me start with, I LOVE Lana Pecherczyk's writing. She is one of my favorite writers, second only to SJ Maas. After falling in love with ACoTaR, very few books gave me that spark, high, and obsession as ACoTaR, but the Fae Guardians series does!! I'm obsessed. Lana is an amazing writer!!
So that being said, I was disappointed in this one. I give all the rest of the fae guardian series 5/5, but this one was missing for me. It felt kind of phoned in compared to the rest of the series, more like boxes were being checked rather than really digging into the characters. I felt like other than he's a virgin and she's plus size, there wasn't much depth given to either of them, the book could have been a little bit longer and gone into more of who they are as individuals, and really I wanted more time of them together... (continued thoughts below after the spoiler break.)
As a plus size gal, I was super excited to have a plus size gal as the FMC! I felt it missed the mark, the key reason being that Melody's weight was done TO her, rather than her just being a bigger gal so she didn't really own her weight and therefore felt fake to me (explanation below).

With Nero basically making her eat a tons of sweets to have this vision of the luxury of the past through her, he made her gain a ton of weight and she was constantly upset about that, that she didn't like her body and that she was forced to each all those sweets. This, to me, felt like it would be undone once she got out from under him and could eat what she wanted and live her life how she wanted. So it was done TO her, and could be undone, rather than her simply being plus sized. For me this took the empowerment out of it, and felt like the MMC loves her anyways and she can go back to how she wants to be now that's she's free, rather than she just is that way and it's not going to change. For me, it would have been a bit more empowering to simply have her be plus size and be insecure about it, and not have it be something that can just be changed once she is free. Some of us really struggle with our weight regardless of the efforts we make so I would have felt it a stronger message of support for the plus size community if that was the case vs some a**hole made her eat too much cake.
I would have loved a bit more time with them together as a couple, we didn't get to see her getting tested at the Order, what element do her powers attune to, etc? I LOVED getting to go to the Autumn court and having him kick booty!! That section could have gone on a bit longer, have him really own that part of his past and had more time of them connecting. Lana has an amazing bonus epilogue from her Patreon that absolutely is a MUST read as it gives me a bit more of them together that I wanted.
Anyways, this book is still good, and I love the continuation of the FG series. I hope nobody gets upset, this is just my opinion, I still adore the series and Lana and can't wait for the next book! She writes these books incredibly fast (impressive as all hell) so I know I shouldn't be too picky, but since the first 6 were so mind blowing, it was just comparing this one to the last 6, this one didn't do it for me like the others did.

I was excited to read about Forrest but ultimately very disappointed. I put it down for 3 months 55% into reading it then ended up skimming for necessary info to get through it. Though I liked Forrest’s character and there are a couple great scenes, the middle drags and aspects of the story feel clipped. We don’t get much with regards to character development and I have really loved that in past installments. We get a lot of the FMC mourning her past life and memories of her mom but I never felt like we get much of HER.
Parts of it felt exceptionally on the nose. The FMC’s name is Melody and she was a singer before she wakes in Elphyne? Other aspects of the story felt too convenient. It was fairly easy to predict much of what was coming in the story itself plus future installments in the series…Who Aeron’s mate is b4 the reveal. And based on Aeron’s mates profession —The Tinker — I’m gonna guess she makes him a hearing aid. And do we all have the same suspicion of who might be Cloud’s mate?
The spice is practically nonexistent. We get one coming together while the chase fantasy they talk about is behind a Patreon subscription. It feels like the scene was deliberately withheld to feed her Patreon; especially since it was available when the book came out. This would be like putting Violet and Indigo’s kitchen scene in book 4 behind a Patreon subscription. Patreon should be for extras.
One last thing, I really did not like the way the FMCs weight was used in this book. The representation gave me the ick factor. I’m glad there is a plus size FMC in the series but her weight in the context of the story is something the antagonist of the series forces on her by making her eat more. That’s not positive representation of larger bodies. Because she’s unhappy with how she looks, it is implied she can go back to her size ‘in the before’ time once they escape Crystal City. Overall, this part of the story just felt off. I don’t know if a sensitivity reader was used or not but that would have been a helpful perspective.
Still, I am looking forward to Aeron’s story next.

Where do I even start with Forrest and Melody? I ADORED them! The seggsual tension they had was **chef's kiss**
This was my favorite book with such amazing character development and touch her and you ☠️☠️ vibes. From the instant he made cockroaches come out of the Captain's clothes all the way down to learning every nook and cranny of her body.
“Show me how you like to be kissed,” he said, voice low and barely there. I’m ready. “Show me so that I may learn to be your everything.”
SWOOOOON!
Onto the audio portion, Lana just never goes wrong with the narrators for her books. My favorite part is how she picks different narrators for every book so they have their own voice. They nailed the voices of Melody and Forrest and when he told her "I want to drown in your taste" 🥵🥵
Now I have to wait like the rest of you mundanes for the next book in the series.

great writing. great plot. great characters.
this is the first book i've read in the series and even though you can start reading at this book and sort of understand everything, i wish i would have started at the beginning of the series because at some points it is a bit hard to follow if you don't already know what's happened

I really enjoyed this book and especially the buildup of sexual tension between Forrest and Melody, it was very H-O-T, HOT 🥵.
I especially loved the little rebellion that Melody had caused with her last song in the Crystal City after falsely accepting the Captions belt (I don’t really understand the significance of belts for proposal but oh well)
This was a beautiful story and I can’t wait for the next book regarding Aeron and his fight with his lack of hearing and finding his own Well-Blessed mate in Tinker, which should definitely be inter3sting.
Overall p, I loved this book and rate it a full 5 stars and I can’t wait to get the hardcover edition when I am able to for my bookshelf collection.

Maybe it was the format (audiobook) but I didn’t really connect with the characters. I loved the books in this series that happened in the fae universe but now we get more books in the human universe and I don’t really like that. Also, plot wise, this book didn’t really add much.

He’s a sweet elf. Forrest was precious, basically the entire time for me. Melody was okay… kinda wish we learned more about how her powers work? But I guess that’s because most for the book takes place in the human city.

This one felt a bit jumpy to me. Every so often I’d be like, wait, how’d we get here? What just happened? We spent a lot of time in the character’s heads (which is good!) but I wanted more description of everything.

This is the first book in the season of the elf, I hoped it would be as good as the vampires and it is! Both Melody and Forrest are more softer characters. Forrest had a hard past and he is more reserved. Whilst Melody is more outspoken, she isn't a fighter in the physical sense. But don't mistake her for being docile. She is being used in a plot, to fight against the fae and doesn't know the truth. Eventhough her prison is a nice one, she is still in a cage.
I really liked forrest, he is the kind of character you just want to give a big hug and give him all the love you can give.
Overall I did really enjoy this story. Forrest and Melody had great chemistry and I enjoyed watching them get together. I look forward to the next book.

I really liked the first of these books and while I have continued to read them all I find I'm a bit disappointed. The spice in the book is just not present and when they finally do the deed its a weird losing virginity coupling that felt over-gloried awkward and uncomfortable. That's the only sex scene btw and it happens in the last 70 pages of the book. Pair that with the ad for a better scene if you join the Patreon left me a little put-off. I just don't understand why it was included as the climax of their coupling.
Idk, I wish the author would be a little sneakier with their clues. It's very obvious what being set up for cloud, I wouldn't be surprised if his book ends up being the 12th with how we've been strung along so far but it's so easy to guess what going on it doesn't feel as mysterious anymore.
It was also easy to guess who Aedon was being set up with well before the end of the book and I'm going to go ahead and predict she's going to make him a pair of hearing aids... Also not a huge issue but the author should be careful with how they handle his story the way they treat being deaf as if it's a death sentence and he's not longer useful to the guardians as a deaf elf is kind of rude 😅

I’m a huge fan of anything Lana writes - she’s an auto-buy author for me and I recommend the Fae Guardian series to anyone I can. This one… fell a little flat. I did enjoy Melody and Forest. As characters, they both were different in their own way and their love story was refreshing from the previous books. As a romance, it hit the marks! Although, plot wise, Forest’s task with retrieving Willow felt forced. Immediately we knew in the beginning it would be a mistake. And then the reminders of saving Willow and in the end at the Order, it all felt awkward and sprinkled inside a book it didn’t belong in. I also didn’t get a great sense this was an Elf book. The wolf and Vampire books felt so rich in that world building. Sure, we visited the Autumn court, but that whole chapter was predictable.
Again, I’m a huge fan of the fae guardian series and this won’t stop me from reading the next installment, but this definitely wasn’t my favorite in the series.

I’ve been waiting for the elf books and it was worth the wait. This book start strong and keep you engulfed throughout.

She feels the same but cannot fathom someone like him wanting her. As someone who struggles with body image issues hearing my thoughts through Melody made me feel seen. She struggles with how she looks, not seeing what you there see, not believing the compliments but taking the bad comments to heart.
The author is so amazing at giving her diverse characters voices that resonate with her readers. She creates worlds not unlike ours but so different that you can’t help but be sucked in. The wait for the next book will be YouTube.

I have been over indulging in this entire series. I started with the vampire season and then backtrack to the wolf season even though that was considered the first books. I’m not gonna lie, I am just trying to make it through the elf season so we can hurry and get to the crow shifters. This book was meh compared to the others but still enjoyable.

This is probably my least favorite of the series. It felt very rushed and awkward in most of the book. It's nice that there was a plus-size FMC, but it wasn't written well. Why did most of the book have to focus on her insecurities of being overweight? She should have been characterized as being strong and confident even though she was plus-sized.

At this point, I'm really trying to get to the end game of Nero/Void and Maebh and everything else. I freely admit to skimming this one because Melody and Forrest bored me to tears and tbh Willow annoys, so I did NOT care. I'm going to have to read an extra book because I can't count this one.

I enjoyed this one more than the previous season of the vampires, but it was a little lacking still for me. I wonder how different it would have been had Forrest not gone into the city and they used Silver's network to just get Melody and Tinker out of the city. I get that Clarke is distraught over her daughter Willow being taken, but not only has Clarke seen this is exactly how things are supposed to go, the Sluagh and even Willow herself have said to leave it alone. Not to mention Willow saw it coming and disregarded every adult who told her to stay put which is the biggest contributor to her being captured, she knew she had to go so she went. Willow is supposed to be in the city with Rory and anything they do to try and change it will only make things worse for the entire world.
I was a little put off by Melody's insistence on teaching Forrest to seduce a woman as her tactic for getting them out of the city. I don't think it added anything to the story other than giving the characters an excuse to get physical. This could have been handled many different ways, there was no need to have a singer come up with a master plan over a fae warrior who has trained decades as well as consulted with other warriors who have also trained decades for their job. Not saying that an outside pair of eyes can't help! Often people get blinded because they are so sure they know the right answer and make things ridiculously complicated and other books I've read have had someone else be like "why don't we just do this" and it was a valid storyline. In this case though, it didn't work for me.
I kind of think it's weird for the author to pair off the characters in order by species in order to have "seasons" and mini-trilogies instead of just pairing off the characters in an order that made sense for the overall story. However, I am looking forward to Aeron's story and hope Tinker knows sign. His backstory is that he was taken and tortured by the Autumn court. Melody is being used by Nero to sing propaganda and further his mission to sway humans against fae. Forrest is assigned to Melody to give her new material for her songs. They grow close and he protects her from the Captain who wants to own her and take over the city. Melody decides the only way they are getting out of the city is for Forrest to seduce Rory and get Rory, Willow, Melody, and her three band mates out. Nero and the Captain go to gather more of a rare "energy source" (which turns out to be manabeez harvested from Guardians) and the Captain leaves Nero there in hopes of him being killed so he can take over. Melody ends up choosing Forrest instead of the Captain, Melody and Forrest's mate marks appear, and the Captain throws a fit. He sells Melody and another human named Tinker to the Autumn Court and throws Forrest in the dungeon. Rory and Willow let Forrest out of his prison, Willow tells Forrest she has to stay, and Forrest tells Rory who she really is. Forrest leaves to rescue Melody from the Autumn Court, Melody helps Forrest's mom the queen break the king's hold on her, Melody makes a guard's head explode, and Forrest commands crows to peck out his brother Luthian's eyes. The queen almost dies but ends up stabbing the king with the arrow she was shot with and takes command. Tinker has already escaped but Forrest's mom promises to have her soldiers look for her and bring her to the Order if found. This is the start of the Season of the Elf trilogy, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m having such a great time reading this series. We’re getting closer to the next trilogy Season of the Crow, which includes Cloud’s story (I’m dying to get my hands on his novel). Although right now, I’m curious to spend time with the Elven Fae Guardians of the Well.
Forrest has fascinated me for a while – a strong, silent type with the biggest heart. A Song of Sky and Sacrifice picks up where A Symphony of Savage Hearts ended with the aftermath of Willow’s kidnapping and Forrest volunteering to enter the human city on an impossible rescue mission.
Forrest is a virgin and it’s less common to find virgin hero romances these days, especially in fantasy romances, so I was surprised. My heart felt such sympathy for him and Melody. Melody is “seen too much.” Every aspect of her life is critiqued and controlled, but nobody seems to truly see her or understand her. Forrest’s past is the opposite: he grew up in an environment where he was literally ignored, and the trauma that it caused has made him fly under the radar ever since.
Melody is a human who used to be a famous singer the old world. She’s lived in Crystal City from the time she awoke and is being used by the narcissistic human leader President Nero (the Void) to spread false propaganda and hatred about the Fae. Willow has been taken to the Crystal City and is being cared for by Rory, a halfling and Queen Maebh’s granddaughter. Rush, Clarke, and Thorne's main goal continues to be Willow's safe return home, while the rest of the Guardians are concerned with a taint on the Well. However, there is more at stake than Clarke let on, and the mission may not be as simple as Forrest believes.
Melody is captivated by Forrest, and she sees him for the caring individual he is. In return, he understands her in a way that she’s been needing and craving for so long. Once she meets Forrest, she realizes how empty her current life is, and how her mysterious protector is who she’s been waiting for. The connection between Forrest and Melody is so real. It’s a sweet, slow burn romance with just enough spice. My heart broke for Forrest and everything he’s endured, but I loved his vulnerability. Melody wasn’t perfect in the beginning, but she learned to trust herself and the feelings she had for Forrest.
There’s an underlying theme in each novel regarding the powers of the Well-Blessed humans. Melody’s powers center around being heard, being recognized and about finding your own voice. She has the ability to control the behavior of others near her with her mind. The author did a great job exploring this theme and the character development was also amazing. Forrest and Melody both gained self-confidence in different ways.
The characters, the plot, the twists and continued world building and the emotions were all just excellent. A Song of Sky and Sacrifice is a great addition to the series. I can’t get enough. I want to know more about this taint on the Well. I’m especially curious about Willow’s future, and the bigger role that she could eventually play in this world. I’m also excited to read Aeron’s story next. I want the best for him. This series has fantastic storytelling, so I can’t wait to see what will happen next.

I thought Percherczyk did a good job incorporating real issues such as body positivity and insecurity through Melody and I loved that she featured a large bodied heroine who was utterly adored and appreciated by her partner.
I’m super curious about what storylines Lana Percherczyk is setting up with the series. Willows place in the human city is obviously important to future storylines but I’m at a loss about what that could be. I’m really looking forward to seeing Rory and Cloud’s story down the track as well as Aeron and this mysterious Tinker character next!

I can't get enough of this world, the mysteries still unfolding, and the twists that keep flipping my theories on their heads. This time is no different, and since Forrest has an affinity with animals like I do, I was already falling in love again.
Forrest: unseen, unheard, protector of the other unwanted, sacrificed, duty-bound, the protector & animal advocate, then Elite Guardian, one of the Cadre of 12. He voluntarily sacrifices his last vestige of being an elf, of who he is, becoming scarred, & loses his manna, going undercover to save Rush & Clark's precocious daughter Willow from the clutches of one of the most evil men known to walk Earth, both now and 2000 years in the future, President Nero AKA The Void. When Forrest finds Willow, he also finds the first woman ever to make him rethink celibacy and his vows.
Melody: voluptuous, out-of-this world talented musician and vocalist, frozen in a nuclear winter, then thawed out 2000 years in the future into a world of magic, Tainted creatures (fae) and "rescued" by Nero. Placed up high in the elite tower of the steam/diesel punk Crystal City. Though self-confident in the ways of the world, she's also highly encouraged to eat nonstop by keeping all her favorites in front of her at all times, to show her "affluence" which causes her much uncertainty in her attractiveness. Only allowed to visit Nero's secret garden connected to the Well, she's never allowed outside. But this amazing woman will realize she's had enough of the "sit down and shut up" shoved down her throat, and it'll make you cheer out loud!
When these two literally run into each other, everything changes. She realizes he's not who he appears to be, and he enlists Melody's help to get Willow from Rory, but doesn't know how to get Rory's attention. Melody begins to teach him how to seduce a woman, but they quickly discover that's the last thing either wants. They both get defiant in their own way.
Que all the hurdles Lana's twisted mind can come up with!
She always promises an HEA, however getting there is fair game, and she DOES makes the characters work for it! In each story, I 😍☠️🤣🤨😬😏🥵😳😭🤬🥰, and though my heart aches, breaks and heals in one sitting, I RUN and grab the latest addition to the Fae Guardians series, and fall in love with this world, this writing, and these characters all over again. The Fae Guardians Series by Lana Pecherczyk is a bit of a post-apocalyptic epic fantasy where the world had been destroyed by humans, and the Fae came in and rebuilt it. Now, thousands of years later humans and fae are at war over only habitable land left on Earth. But things aren’t what they seem, there are sinister agendas in play which threaten to destroy everything. We follow along and meet the Fae Guardians, who are in the midst of it all. With high stakes, the fate of the world rests on their shoulders, making for spellbinding reading.
Each instalment could be read as a standalone as each focuses on a separate couple. But having said that, there is a bridging storyline, that is building a bigger picture- so I highly recommend reading the entire series, in sequence, for the optimum reading experience.
With fae, shifters, vampires, elves, witches, magic, time travel, action, adventure, curses, agendas, monster hunting, quests, drama, danger, angst, intrigue, mystery, emotion, good vs evil, chemistry, sizzle, tension, a ruthless ‘Order’, enemies to lovers, fated mates, secrets, lies, and much more – all kept me flipping the pages to discover how everything plays out in the end.
Ms. Pecherczyk wove some magic of her own, casting vivid world-building spells that really made everything come to life. The characters also got a lot of attention, being fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I love meeting each couple, connecting with them, and following them on their adventures. I also appreciated the bigger picture that became more focused as the series progressed.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a well-woven fantasy-adventure- especially with plenty of sizzle.

The Fae Guardians Series by Lana Pecherczyk is a bit of a post-apocalyptic epic fantasy where the world had been destroyed by humans, and the Fae came in and rebuilt it. Now, thousands of years later humans and fae are at war over only habitable land left on Earth. But things aren’t what they seem, there are sinister agendas in play which threaten to destroy everything. We follow along and meet the Fae Guardians, who are in the midst of it all. With high stakes, the fate of the world rests on their shoulders, making for spellbinding reading.
Each instalment could be read as a standalone as each focuses on a separate couple. But having said that, there is a bridging storyline, that is building a bigger picture- so I highly recommend reading the entire series, in sequence, for the optimum reading experience.
With fae, shifters, vampires, elves, witches, magic, time travel, action, adventure, curses, agendas, monster hunting, quests, drama, danger, angst, intrigue, mystery, emotion, good vs evil, chemistry, sizzle, tension, a ruthless ‘Order’, enemies to lovers, fated mates, secrets, lies, and much more – all kept me flipping the pages to discover how everything plays out in the end.
Ms. Pecherczyk wove some magic of her own, casting vivid world-building spells that really made everything come to life. The characters also got a lot of attention, being fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I love meeting each couple, connecting with them, and following them on their adventures. I also appreciated the bigger picture that became more focused as the series progressed.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a well-woven fantasy-adventure- especially with plenty of sizzle.

I really loved this book. It was such a fun addition to the series and I feel like it was a great start to the Elf trilogy in this series.
Forrest is an elf fae who has made a lot of sacrifices in his life and he still continues to put others first. Clarke asks him to go rescue her daughter who was kidnapped and is now being held in the human city. In order to do this, Forrest has to cut off the tips of his ears and lose his connection to the Well, in his mind taking away his identity as a Fae and a Guardian, but he agrees. Melody is a human from before the world ended who is stuck in the human city doing the president’s bidding by singing propoganda to keep the people in fear of the Fae outside of the city walls. She is deeply unhappy in her role and longs for a better life. Forrest and Melody are drawn to each other immediately but they have to figure out how to be together and escape the city while completing Forrest goals.
I really liked Forrest. I loved that he was a virgin because he basically wanted it to be special (he never really said as much but that is how I feel about it after reading his story). I also really liked Melody. There is a trigger warning for fatphobia, forced eating, and self-hate/disgust but I feel that this was more about Melody’s inability to make her own choices. It is clearly stated that Melody never minded being full-figured but now she hates it because the choice of what to eat and when has been taken away from her.
This is not a particularly steamy story but I feel like the pace of the story and the sweetness of the romance make it unnecessary. There are other things that need to happen and more important tasks need to be accomplished than having sex. In spite of this, or maybe because of it, Forrest and Melody are able to really foster a deeper emotional connection that I really enjoyed reading.
I will say that this book was not as angsty as some of the previous books. Every time the characters would get into a situation my heart would start pounding and I would be thinking that I wouldn’t be able to handle it if some calamity befell the characters but luckily it never did (unlike in the previous books). If you are reading these books straight through it will be a nice breather.
Overall, I would definitely read this book again. I am SO EXCITED for Aeron’s book. It is next and I hope he gets the most blissful story becuase of all he’s been through.

A Song of Sky and Sacrifice is another deep dive into the beautifully broken world of Elphyne created by the talented author Lana Pecherczyk. This is book seven of the Fae Guardians series, a post-apocalyptic dystopian novel set 2000 years in the future that has seen the rise of the Fae alongside the small remaining human population. So far, we have seen the world through the eyes of the Wolves and Vampires and finally we have reached Season of the Elf, starting with Forrest’s book.
Even though each Season starts at book one, they are very much part of an overarching story in a greater world and I encourage you to begin with book one in Season of the Wolf to fully appreciate this amazing story and world. From here on in my review will contain spoilers if you have not read Fae Guardians books 1-6.
A Song of Sky and Sacrifice sees Forrest infiltrate the human city in a bid to rescue Willow and return her safely home after she was captured at the end of the last book. Once in the city he meets Melody, known as the harbinger and who nightly serenades the elite with songs of the Tainted Fae, however 2000 years ago she was a world renown popstar. I loved the relationship between Forrest and Melody the sweet development of feelings and hot chemistry. The themes of image, self-perception and belief resonate throughout the story first with Forrest removing his ear tips that distinguish him as ‘Fae’ and then Melody’s weight and body image struggles.
A Song of Sky and Sacrifice sees the brilliant worldbuilding of Elphyne continue to grow this time on the human side, as well as fleshing out more characters. It was fantastic to get more insight into how the humans have existed since the apocalypse and how Void has maintained his hold. The secondary characters also play a large role in what makes this series so amazing and I am so intrigued with the direction the Crows and the Sluagh are headed.
A Song of Sky and Sacrifice was a sweet, heartwarming romance between soulmates set in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian world that is at crossroad. It captures your heart, invites you invest in the world then leaves you hanging for answers. Even better it’s 100% worth the angst waiting for them.

This book couldn’t have been titled better than that! It gives you a taste test of the very emotional and personal journey of our FMC and the man who would become hers.
Only Melody could go out into a Vegas shop during a War for wardrobe shopping for her upcoming show, and wake up 2000 years in the future.
The world was a much stranger place, and truly something she never could have imagined. Kept isolated when she wasn’t performing, she is being fed like a turkey on the way to someone’s table and she hates it! Her body is changing in ways she hates and she’s being fed and then forced to feed the Presidents propaganda about the monster Fae to the humans who reside within the walls of Crystal City through her music, and it’s getting harder and harder to force herself to do it.

Let me start by saying that this is my review for the entire series so far and not just this current book. This review is also spoiler free.
This was my first series by this author, and I was pleasantly surprised. This was a great introduction to this Romantasy series, containing several of my favorite tropes. I also like the little sprinkles of sci-fi the author managed to weave into the fantasy aspect. I liked the characters and their complexity. They had depth and well thought out backstories that furthered the plot. The pacing was great, and the world building didn’t feel overwhelming. The love story was a good balance to the main plot of the series and while the ending wasn’t exactly a huge cliffhanger, it did give you some glimpses of the books to come and left you curious about what was in store for the other characters. The entire series is about group a Fae/Mythical guardians who’s trying to save the magic and well being of their world by finding their mate and joining powers to fight the evil ahead. Each book follow a specific character/couple.
If you like fantasy with fae, magic and maybe a dash of sci-fi, then this is the series for you!
