The Irish born internationally known author and lecturer, Tim Wallace-Murphy, is the author of thirteen published books, has appeared in some eight or nine TV documentaries and has given lectures from Seattle and Long Beach on the West Coast of the USA, in Canada, Great Britain, France, Italy and in Prague.

Eleven of his works cover historical aspects of spirituality, including the Knights Templar, the Cathars, Rosslyn Chapel and the Western Esoteric Tradition as well as the Grail genre. The other two, including the most recent are more mainstream, namely 'What Islam did for Us' a study of how Islamic scholarship laid the foundations of so many fundamental and valued aspects of European culture and his latest work 'The Genesis of a Tragedy - A Brief History of the Palestinian People.' Tim was provoked to write this work as the Palestinian side of this conflict is rarely heard in either Western Europe or the United States and if this ongoing running sore in East West relations is ever to be solved, the pain on both sides needs to be understood.

He also acts as a tour guide in some of the most beautiful and inspiring sacred sites in Europe.

This book continues and expands on the work the authors did in REX DEUS. If you want to learn about early Christianity and how it was basically hijacked by Paul, who through his own admission never met Jesus Christ, if you want to know how Judaism developed, if you want to learn about the many gospels which were squelched by the early church "fathers", if you have an open mind, THIS IS A BOOK FOR YOU! Read REX DEUS first, then this one. From Amazon: A curious thing happened to Tim Wallace-Murphy and Marilyn Hopkins when they published Rex Deus, their first book on the bloodline of Christ: they were contacted by a man from the very lineage they were studying. And instead of denying the existence of the bloodline or berating them for revealing secrets, he actually confirmed that the Rex Deus lineage exists and even disclosed some of its fundamental secrets.

I am not sure why I picked up this book specifically but I do have an interest in Cathars and Templars. Those were the best chapters by the way. This is the 2nd book about the Rex Deus families by the authors and I feel like I should have read the 1st book first because I felt like I was missing information about the Rex Deus families while reading this one.

You've really got to be a bit geeky about Knight Templar related conspiracy theories to plough through this but I made it to the end. It's a variation on the Priory of Sion theory. That the Knights Templar were set up by some deep state, shadowy organisation with an ancient lineage. In this case, termed the Rex Deus and going all the way back to the Temple of Solomon. And how was this invisible brotherhood chanced upon - by a random encounter with somebody who spilt the beans.
To be honest, I struggled at times to keep up with the theory but it's all good fun. There are differences with the Priory of Sion hypothesis, which turned out to be a pile of nonsense concocted by some bored French gentlemen in the 1950s. Though as Umberto Eco illustrated, once a conspiracy theory is out there, it's hard to put the genie back in the lamp.

What a scam! It is exactly the same text as Rex Deus, with about 30 pages of information added. Basically, there is no need to read Rex Deus, just read this one and you'll have a tad more information...

Intresting

A good read although I do not believe all that is said about Jesus Christ. I believe He came, and died to save me. The authors went to great lengths to prove their hypothesis. The depths of research in this book is admirable.

This predates the follow on that I also reviewed on the Rex Deus. This is tougher to follow but more detailed. Entirely fascinating...

This is a re-read for me and I enjoyed it even more the second time round. It is a must for anyone in the Western world concerned with how our lives have been shaped by the combination of religion and politics from the time of the Egyptians to today in search of an ideal way for mankind to live in relation to universal nature. It shows clearly how the various strands of religion, Jewish old and new, Christianity old and new, Islamic, became separated and caused destruction and chaos as a result. Yet all of them believe in one God above all. The question now is what lies in the future and whether the mystery of life can ever be resolved.
I first read this book a year or so ago having by then written my own novel - The Royal Secret- on a similar theme but as a thriller based on the linking of the genius Francis Bacon - scientist, philosopher, and writer of the Shakespeare plays and poems - from the past to the present. Having finished it I am happy to say that my conclusions were much the same as the authors and based on much the same evidence.
Does a secret intelligence of which we are not aware really exist? Is it innate in all of us or just a few who recognize it? Is there still a bloodline of knowledge known only to a few which can make or break humanity?
The authors have been accused by various scholars for lack of evidence in their proposals but then history is full of different versions which can never be wholly proved. Who is to say what is correct and what is not. The authors' point of view is one that has been covered before in various guises and books such as The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail and the da Vinci code but theirs is a serious account of mankind in the pursuit of an ultimate knowledge - the Truth - and they do a very good job of making it a fascinating and very worthwile read for those interested in who they really are.
This is a book to keep forever and to use as a reference for all things spiritual and scientific since in reality the two are one and the same.

This is a wonderful addition to his other books and keeps that information flowing about other perspectives of history, art, and religion .... and more. I love how he writes and his flow of thoughts and considerations. It is an impressive part of his series of books on an alternative history that I choose to put a great deal of weight towards becoming more aware of where truth lies in "history". A must read for those who are truth seekers and for those who want to understand that not everyone throughout the last two thousand years thought the same nor shared the same goals and concepts. What a Treasure! This is another one I save to pick up and read again and again.

If you have read any other books on the subject of Jesus having a family with Mary Magdalene this book continues that theory. It also has information on the Knights Templar and the bloodline of the priestly families of Ancient Israel.

The author writes as though this theory is proven and all the "facts" he has assembled are true.

One thing stands out loud and clear in this book is the contempt he has for the Catholic Church.

This is an academic book of immense interest to those who desire to accurately trace the spiritual and social history of homo sapiens origin up to today.
It is an enjoyable and lucid read and thorough in the path of its information giving great cause for thought on the future of modern man and if he has learned anything from the past.
