Femme fatalish – Eine fast perfekte Femme fatale

Rate this book
My name is Blue—insert a mood-related joke here—and I’m a femme fatale in training. My goal is to join the CIA. Unfortunately, I have a tiny issue with birds, and the closest I’ve come to my dream is working for a government agency that’s disturbingly up-to-speed on everyone’s sexts, rants in private Facebook groups, and secret family chocolate-chip cookie recipes.

I know I’m a spy cliché, that agent who works at a desk but craves fieldwork. However, I have a plan: I’m going to infiltrate the secretive Hot Poker Club, where I’ve spotted a mysterious, sexy stranger who I’m convinced is a Russian spy.

And once I'm in? All I have to do is seduce the presumed spy without falling for him, so I can expose his true identity and prove my femme fatale bona fides to the CIA. I never lose concentration at work, so that'll be an absolute breeze for me. Oh, and did I mention he's sexy?

I’m doing it for my country, not my ovaries, I pinky swear.

WARNING: Now that you’ve finished reading this, your device will self-destruct in five seconds.

NOTE: This is a standalone, raunchy, slow-burn romantic comedy featuring a quirky, spy-movie-obsessed heroine, a scorching hot maybe-Russian, several terrifying tales about birds, and lots of text debates about the relative cuteness of animals. If any of the above is not your cup of tea, run far, far away. Otherwise, buckle up for a laugh-out-loud, feel-good ride.

This was a fun, steamy read that was super hot for what is essentially a slow burn before this couple actually get down to the down and dirty.

Blue was hilarious as we live inside her head, that is really almost more than anyone should be expected to do, but fortunately her quirkiness adds to her overall cute factor. I love how this author has given each of the girls in the Hyman family a particular issue they have to try to live with. Blue’s had me rolling with laughter. The addition of her feline friend had me looking wonderingly at my own furry fellows.

I couldn’t help but wonder about Max and what he was hiding even as I was chuckling over all the insane situations being with Blue was putting him in. This was one time that not having the hero’s point of view was truly the way to go as Blue is investigating Max making this one wild mystery.

This definitely has a raunchy factor as the author mentions in the blurb and I have to admit that this particular book did push my boundaries a bit more than the previous books by these authors. However, there is so much more about it that I love and adore. No way am I going to miss it!

Another laugh out loud romcom from Misha Bell. The humor, the characters, and inner dialogue had me giggling and cackling to the very end.
Blue is outrageously funny and witty, her character is charming and smart mouthed, and just like her previous sisters, she has phobias, and her is a real fear of birds, and that in and of itself was hilarious.
Then there is Max, handsome and debonair, they meet a poker game that is held in a sauna, and the funny and comedic moments take off from there.
We were also introduced to sergeant and captain and of course, maximus in such a way that you could not help to chuckle at what Blue was referring to. But the best scene that had me chuckling out loud was that restaurant scene in Chapter 16, whew that was a real moment.
If you are looking for a light, humorous story, this is one of the best!

This series makes me blush! That first chapter really dives right into that wildly inappropriate and funny humor from this author. That's your warning, if you aren't into that kind of humor, you won't get these books. But if you are ready for a lot of laugh-out-loud, blush inducing moments, then this book is for you.

These sisters that are in this series just crack me up. It seems that each of them have some crazy phobia that really creates some funny moments in the story. I will say that Blue's phobia isn't all that crazy though. I knew of a person who is also afraid of birds. Birds are everywhere so I'm not sure how a person functions with this phobia. What I do love was how Max didn't blink an eye to her fear and even gallantly protected her from them.

Max was wonderful. Really all the heroes in this series are. I love that they except the craziness in the heroines and love them all the more. Funny, funny book!

Blue Hyman is a cyber security agent working on *CLASSIFIED* assignments for the government, in a nondescript windowless building that no one knows exists. She would rather be doing some bonafide spying field work, if only the CIA would agree! Blue enlists her gay buddy Fabio to coach her in seduction techniques, and practices her spy craft by re-enacting scenes from all of her favourite espionage films. She’s determined to re-invent herself as the ultimate all-American Femme Fatale!

For her first foray into actual spy work, Blue sets out to infiltrate the secretive Hot Poker Club and honey pot the distractingly attractive Hottie McSpy. That’s her code name for her target. Apparently, his “real” name is Maxim. Max, for short. Actually, the two of them hit it off pretty well. But is Max the foreign spy that Blue thinks he is?

Get Smart meets Mr. Bean in this over-the-top romantic comedy about the spy wannabe Hyman sister. True to the neuroticism of the Hyman family, Blue Hyman has her own unique obsession, ornithophobia, the fear of birds. (Which makes for a very awkward type of Achilles Heel for a potential agent.) Prepare to be bombarded with spy jokes, “blue” jokes, and fear of birds jokes. And I mean bombarded, inundated, flooded and engulfed.

Misha Bell’s characters are adorable. I love Blue. She’s funny, crazy, but cute. And Max? Max is pure awesomeness: handsome, muscled, sexy, sweet, considerate, attentive, did I mention sexy? Max is MY man. I mean, I know Blue saw him first, but if she hadn’t, he would be mine. MINE! Blue’s menace of a feline, Machete, her sisters Olive and Gia, and best buddy Fabio round out the fabulous secondary cast.

Are your stomach muscles ready? This is another laugh out loud rom-com. If one could lose weight from laughing, I would be a svelte Size 2 from all the reading I do for Misha Bell.

(My sincere review is written for the beta and ARC copies provided by the authors.)

Blu’s dream is to work for the CIA despite her extreme phobia of birds. In order to make this happen she infiltrates a high stakes poker game to prove that one of the members is a Russian spy. Max is gorgeous and her target who claims to be a Ukrainian from Canada. Blu starts seeing Max and the two quickly fall for each other. Both have secrets and they must decide what is more important a job or love.
This book was funny and sexy. Blu and Max were a great couple with an interesting story. It was also great reading the cameos of characters from previous books in this one. I like how much Max cared about Blu right away and that she cared for him also. I was happy that they both came clean about who they were at the end and got their happy ending.

Misha Bell has a true talent for writing stories that grab your attention from the get go. This one was no exception. The opening scene, hello!

Blue is my favorite character from this wonderful writing duo. She's educated, quirky about birds, loves to dive in head first and doesnt stop until she figures it out. I would say she's one of a kind but seriously, her sisters are all alike. ;-) What a family!

The laugh out loud moments are plenty, there are funny takes on everything. I have made a mental note to reapply my sunscreen frequently. Also if a goose is hanging on to the tie, dont kill him, just cut the tie.

But beneath this comedy is a building suspenseful story. Just who is Max and is he really from Canada, eh? Do I detect a russian accent or is that from the good Canadian school.

You'll absolutely love reading this one!

I think I'm broke, this book really annoyed me.. And this isn't the first one either..

At first I was excited, but then it was just always clasified and the inner-monologue was the same like the books of the sisters, that I can understand because it's a family thing. But it still annoyed me. Also everything was clear he wasn't who she thought and still she questions everything, I get that she needs that in het line of work, still I got irritated and annoyed.

DNF at 55%. Can’t connect to this story and compared to the other Misha Bell books it lacks the funny moments. So much the same as the previous books, not original at all. Might finish it someday.

This book makes me happy! In fact all of the books following the Hyman sisters put a smile on my face. The situations that these sisters find themselves in are absolutely one of a kind and priceless.

Vlad / Alex / Bella jg keluar ntar.. pas Vlad ultah, trs emaknya bilang ke Blue "gw heran sama keluarga lo yg bisa dapetin cowo2 ganteng" dan Bella bilang "pls deh mam, cowo gantengnya tu termasuk anakmu loh" kwkwkwkwkw

Pokoknya kalau baca gak akan nyesel, menyegarkan ^^

This one took me 9 days! 9! Even if it was short, it was so ridiculously boring that I had to force myself to finish it, it took me forever. Where were the laugh-out-loud parts?
Ugh... the book should've been called Bird-ish or something like that. It's basically about a annoying wannabe spy with limited skills, a loud mouth and a fear of birds, that is hot for a maybe-spy and start to stalk him. Almost half of the book its about birds.
The h has a cat Machete, there are "dialogues" of the cat that were funny maybe a couple times but it got repetitive and annoying.

This one was not for me.

This book made me laugh out loud a couple of times. The jokes were often quite crude, but I’m totally here for it! I kept wondering what Max was along with Blue. Their chemistry was off the charts from the very start and Max was also just super sweet and caring. The bird phobia was original and honestly quite funny. Light book, low in drama, wonderful to pass a couple of hours! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Blue Hyman and Maxim AKA ' Hottie McSpy '
Fabio- Gay porn star and BFF
Machete- Blue's rescue cat

As always with Misha Bell, I ❤ all the pop culture references!

Hard Code series is best.
I liked all of the characters a lot.
I'm not really a spy genre fan, but i can't wait for the Octopus story.

I would love if Fabio got his own story. He was great.

I spent the whole time dying from laughter😃 this was a hilarious book!
Every piece was over the top, which made it more funny. If you stop for a minute you will think what in the world is this? Still funny. enjoyed it.

On the other hand, I would have liked it to take some parts seriously, to get a blend of nonsense and seriousness would have elevated the story.

*** ARC/AUDIOBOOK REVIEW***
Another funny, cute, steamy and entertaining romcom from Misha Bell! Absolutely loved Blue and Max. They were too cute together. Max was a breath of fresh air. He was charming, sexy and loved animals, and was so easy to fall for. He was the perfect match for Blue. Blue was just as quirky and funny as her sisters. I loved how she was determined to prove the CIA wrong for rejecting her spy application. She is definitely one of my favorite heroines so far. The best part was Machete’s, Blue’s cat, inner dialogue. I can definitely picture him as the grumpy cat from YouTube videos. This story was full of witty banter, hot chemistry, funny femme fatale in training antics, and steamy videos calls.
I started reading the ebook and then finished this on audio to get the full experience of Blue’s silly femme fatale-ish spy shenanigans. It was a delight to listen to this and loved every minute of it. Erin Mallon’ solo narration was phenomenal! She captured Blue’s quirky personality perfectly, from her fear of birds to the funny spy antincs she did all to catch and seduce a Russian spy. Joe Arden’s epilogue narration was the best way to end this book. We got a glimpse of Max’s thoughts and how much in love he was with Blue, even after meeting her crazy hippie parents.
This story was full of witty banter, hot chemistry, funny femme fatale in training antics, and steamy videos calls. If you’re looking for a funny and steamy romcom with a hopeful femme fatale-ish spy twist, give this audiobook a listen.

Could there be anything worse than death-by-bird?
Not for Blue Hyman. Birds are her worst nightmare come to life, but it’s not going to stop this sassy, computer brainiac from being the best damn American spy ever! Blue’s going to be a perfect agent, even if her candidacy has already been rejected by the CIA. No, not at all! She is going to find herself a Russian spy and prove that she is “the” femme fatale.

How does Blue plan to uncover a Russian spy? Get the coordinates, infiltrate and play a game of sauna poker with the target. Max Stolyar won’t know what’s coming till it “chips” him!

Femme Fatale-ish is such a hilarious read! I giggled so much with the bird references! All I kept thinking about was the Great Emu War! Don’t know about them, look it up, these native Australian birds were so troublesome to Australian farmers the military had to come in to cull these large flightless birds. Wanna take a guess at who won? I also particularly loved Blue’s naivety and her obsession with Max! Does she want him to be the “bad guy” or does she want to jump his bones? As well, I loved all the references to Canada and the little things she thinks she knows of Max and Canadian culture. I mean, doesn’t every Canadian say “eh”? 😆

Want to start 2022 with a laugh-out-loud super fun femme fatale in training and the man she’s got her eye on? Look no further. Femme Fatale-ish is non-stop funny with the most quirkiest set of characters. 💙

Femme Fatale-ish
By: Misha Bell, Anna Zaires, Dima Zales
Narrated by: Erin Mallon, Joe Arden - epilogue

6 identical sisters and a set of twins. How had can it be to be your own person? Blue is ready to start her new career and find out! She is a spy, ready to go out in the field. The Hot Poker Club is where she is going to start. Infiltrating it will not be easy, but she is ready. She finds Max, the spy she needs to expose, and will make him fall for her, find his secrets making her a credible spy. Max is taken with Blue and loves her quirkiness. But will he still feel he same when he finds out her motives? Funny, slow burning and so much fun, Misha Bell once again keeps me smiling. This family is like coming home, encouraging and helping each other as they find their paths. And when Max meets her parents, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. It’s a fun and eccentric family, the couple is engaging and story amazing.

Narrated by the talented Erin Mallon, we are treated to her many voices and comedic timing. I love her, and each time she gives voice to these characters, I know who is speaking and find myself laughing out loud as I fall in love. And with Joe Arden finishing out the story, it's a perfect narration.

Refreshingly Light
In a world of daily anxiety, angst and fear this book is refreshingly light, romantic with hilarious moments.
If you are a regular reader of the Misha Bell couple you would be familiar with the Hyman [this surname!] twins and Blue Hyman being one of the sextuplets. Stir in the mix gorgeous Ukrainian, Maxim Stolyar and the book races along from page one, making me round eyed with ‘wait, did I read that right?’ This sets the tone of the book and makes for entertaining reading.
Again, there are on point movie references and side- splitting jokes, original too I might add. I particularly enjoyed the witty conversations that runs so easily throughout. Of course, there are animals, and unfortunately birds with Maxim being a ‘all animals are cute’ man.
The relationship between Blue and Maxim sizzles immediately from first meeting to lots of all-in heated phone moments. So, yes, this is a great read – funny and with the heat thermometer way up there.
This is another five-star winner!

Unputdownable Rom-Com... Funny, Quirky, Original and deliciously Hot!!!
Femme Fatale-ish by Misha Bell (aka Anna Zaires and Dima Zales) is the story of Blue, a cyber security expert working for the government and Max, a hot and mysterious H (aka a supposedly Russian Spy) that will take you on a crazy ride, from which you will not want to get down from!!! If you're into funny (as hell), quirky and steamy hot books, then this is definitely for you :-) What really makes it such a special read, is the book's uniqueness, creative writing and crazy situations we are taken to! I really love all of Misha Bell's books so far, but as you always have a favorite, my all-time favorite is still Royally Tricked. Each book can be read as a Standalone, so no worries if you haven't read the other books yet. Highly Recommended!!! ❤❤❤

This book is another creative and unique romantic comedy by the dynamic duo of Anna Zaires and Dima Zales who write together under the name of Misha Bell. The characters include Blue, who wants to be a spy but has her own unique personality quirks, and Maxim, who is the mysterious man who she believes may be a Russian agent but is not quite sure. Their wacky story is filled with bird phobias, banter, and hilarious situations guaranteed to make you laugh out loud. I highly recommend this crazy and fun rom-com.

funny ish

Zales and Zaire’s are technically good writers together as Misha Bell they are free to write different tropes. This stories concept was very interesting and I felt could have been better with more action and less bird information which was not funny. It actually bored me and I skipped pages to avoid it. Blue came across as klutzy and possibly incompetent in the beginning but actually seemed very capable at the end so her development did not seem smooth to me. Max also seemed a bit off for who he was, not quite as skilled as he should be. There were funny parts but I found I was waiting to get to them.

Much more com than rom, but good fun overall. Super goofy heroine who wants to be a spy and is afraid of birds. The story was fairly low angst, in the vein of The Hard Code trilogy and Royally Tricked, and all the couples from these earlier books made an appearance here, as did the Baba Yaga-themed dining establishment and the silly Vovocka jokes. The hot scenes were hot, but I didn't feel much real chemistry between the leads and I didn't think their characters were sufficiently fleshed out (especially the male lead) compared to prior work. Still, if you liked The Hard Code novels and Royally Tricked, you will probably enjoy this one, too.

Misha is back with the seriously strange sisters and it's Blues turn!
Blue works in the 'classified' field but wants to join the CIA and is determined to prove her worth by seducing Max who she believes to be a Russian spy!...

But of course, nothing is as it seems and Blue is nuts! Be prepared for giggles - Blues thoughts and the way her mind works is just so weird! She's definitely unique - I loved her!!!

Lots of giggles, silliness, steaminess and a few twists.

I have to tell you that I really needed this book because this week has been really stressful. This is just the kind of over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek, wink and a smile romance that I need to simply relax and disengage from the world for a bit. I thought the storyline was cute, really funny and with just the right touch of zany. Blue and Max were super easy to like, and I loved every minute of this laugh until you cry romantic comedy that I thought was just delightful. I am posting an unbiased, unsolicited review.

As always Misha Bell duo delivers laughing out loud romantic comedy. Once again great story, funny and lighthearted, great leading characters and whole lots of humour. We meet Blue (another Hymen sister), is she quirky and bit awkward at the times? - yes, of course she is, she is Hymen! But that just makes her even more likeable. And then there is Max… sexy, handsome and sooo much more! Just read it, instant mood improvement guaranteed along with few giggles and proper belly laughs. As always very well written story!
