TITAN I was fine, happy even, before Luna Brooks showed up in town. I run a successful bar, am part of the best pack there is, and have great friends.
Everything about Luna irritates me. She’s too bubbly, too happy, too mouthy…too gorgeous. I’d ignore her, but we're forced to work together for the good of the pack. We just need to get one simple project done. But the more time I spend in the sunny Cali girl’s presence, the darker my thoughts turn. She’s not my type—I prefer obedience—and she’s not even staying in Ayas long-term.
Yet every time she opens that pouty mouth to snark at me, I think about what she really needs—punishment. And God help me, I want to be the man to dish it out.
LUNA
If I had a dollar for every time Titan scowls at me, I'd be a millionaire. The pack enforcer is crazy hot, but he's got the personality of a wet rag.
Still, my bestie asked me to work with him for the good of the family. For her, I can put the enemies-to-enemies vibe aside.
Color me shocked when I discover Titan has a kind streak a mile wide, especially for the unfortunate women stuck in another local pack.
If we can put our differences aside, we’ll help not only our pack but those other women too. The only question is, will we survive each other long enough to make it happen?
HEARTLESS HEATHEN is the second book in the Northern Rejects series and features a grumpy pack enforcer trying to tame a wild Cali girl.
For the love of God, authors everywhere: have a single conversation with a person from the country you are going to write about if you are not from that country. The Deputy PM. Jesus Christ.
That being said, I enjoyed this one a lot! Really good chemistry, lots of spice, and fast-paced. I don't usually love enemies-to-lovers but it worked perfectly for these two
I know this book is far from a cowboy romance, but for any Yellowstone fans out there who love, adore, worship Beth Dutton's sassiness, boy do I have a character for you.
Luna just wanted to visit her bestie in Ayas. What she did not expect was to sass grumpy bartender Titan and set off an intense -- albeit harmless -- feud with the Alpha. Now she cannot seem to stop bantering with him, sometimes to a point of poking the feral animal underneath. He's supposedly a gentle giant per her friends (but she cannot seem to be on the receiving end of that treatment), so if she pokes hard enough, what could he possibly do?
Besides, their motley crew of Alphas and Omegas has a lot on their plate. Their attempt to keep a troublemaking pack in check backfires when the powers that be sends a religious zealot to manage said pack. A team of researchers wanting to learn more about Alphas is also coming their way. Luna and Titan should not have much time to feed the fire fueled by their unresolved tension..
I really enjoyed this stop in the Northern Rejects ride. Luna and Titan are hot messes in more ways than one, and I love them for it. The chemistry between them was just sizzling from the get-go, despite their futile efforts to fight it. Then Anna Fury adds fuel to the fire with her creativity in spice studies, and it is pretty much a bumpy, thirsty journey from there.
This second book in the series can be read as a standalone, but it does bring back characters from this series and from Fury's Alpha Compound series. There are interconnected subplots, but Fury does a great job of infusing details into the story to bring newbies up to speed.
It has a fantastic mix of romance, angst, spice, action, and suspense. I always look forward to the book's climax -- no, not THAT KIND of climax, I'm talking the action-filled kind -- because I know Anna brings the intense action. I have to say that I was also not prepared for the waterworks she induces in us with the angst in the end.
** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Anna Fury for providing an ARC. **
This series is my happy place. And I'll happily spend my days on Anna Fury's ARC team to make sure I stay ahead of it.
𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲: Omegaverse, enemies-to-lovers
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Titan is a growls bar owner, set in his ways and an independent alpha. But when he's drawn into Stone's pack, he is forced to reckon with a sassy brat of an omega. Luna is the opposite of everything he's ever wanted. So why does she feel inevitable?
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: This is one of those books where I am SO happy I got it early, but now so sad it's over, and I have to wait for more.
Anna Fury writes Omegaverse SO well. It's got action. It's got a great subplot, incredible characters, and spice that's off the charts. I absolutely loved Titan and Luna's story from start to finish.
I appreciated the fact that their story was less cut and dry. They were true enemies and had to come to grips with what life together would be like and how to handle each other. And Titan's groveling was just perfection.
I highly recommend starting this at the beginning with the Alpha Compound series. It's not super long read to catch up, and I'm obsessed with the story lines... but you'll get the full effect if you start from the beginning.
🔮 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗲: Easy. If you've read any Omegaverse, you should be fine to get this. But Anna Fury's world is a little different, so I highly recommend reading her series in order.
𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 4.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 4/5 🌶🌶🌶🌶
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀: Go back to the beginning of this journey with the Alpha Awakens. Or if you want more action and omegaverse, check out Pack Darling by Lola Rock.
Titan and Luna was everything I needed in this book! This is one of my favorite series because I invested in all the characters. Although this one focuses on the love story between titan and Luna, I still get to see my favorite pack.
Love the angst in this one. Fury definitely knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. And now I’m in desperate need of the next book 🥵
I knew going into this read that it would be full of angst, given the tension between the two MCs in Book 1 of the Northern Rejects series. The sparks were flying, and they couldn't decide whether they wanted to scream at each other or tear each other's clothes off. The heat comes to a boil in this angst-filled enemies to lovers, with lots of misunderstanding and conflict...especially in the third act. Buckle your seats, folks, it's not a smooth road to happily ever after for these two. My emotions got thrown all over the place, and I was messaging the author that the emotional damage this book inflicted was real. But it was also so rewarding in the end, and if you can handle a little pain, the happy ending makes up for it all.
Luna first met Titan in his bar, where he served her a watered down drink and she blasted him for it. Ever since then they have been enemies, constantly bickering and never once getting close enough to have a real conversation. Titan thinks Luna is a brat, which would never suit his dom personality in the bedroom, and Luna thinks Titan is a grump who can't handle any bit of fun thrown his way. A match made in heaven they are not...but as they are forced together more often and things get more heated with a local alpha pack, Titan soon begins to acknowledge a hard truth. Luna is an omega, and she calls to his alpha nature. She may be in denial, but there is a thin line between love and hate. And they are straddling it. Literally. But Luna eventually plans to return to California, and the last thing Titan wants is a commitment with a woman who is just going to leave him. Trust is in short supply between the two of them, but if they can build it, their relationship might just be the strongest they've ever known.
I was hesitant going into this one, because while I liked them each individually, I wasn't sure how this was going to work making them a couple. Titan was a gentle giant to everyone else around him, but with Luna he just wanted her to leave and was willing to be harsh if that meant he never had to see her again. Luna was so fun-loving and passionate that she couldn't turn off her enthusiasm and desire to poke Titan's nerves. As the story progressed though, I saw how their reactions to each other were covering up a deep-seated lust that just needed a little push to burn hot enough to melt the snow outside. The bedroom antics were SPICY, and it was fun to see Titan assume a dominant side in the bedroom and teach Luna how to be submissive. The dynamic was so different and thrilling, and then when they weren't playing and just making love, their affection was apparent. It wasn't just about physical satisfaction. There was also a desire for comfort and empathy. Someone to be there for them when they needed peace and perspective. It was just such a shame that their trust was so slow in developing, which meant miscommunication happened often. The third act conflict almost killed it for me, because I usually can't stand it. Titan was mean. Luna was impulsive. Neither handled the situation well. It's a good dang thing Anna Fury knows how to write a good grovel. Because when Titan grovels...it's a sight to behold. Luna made him work for it. Made him kneel for it. Yes, ma'am. This is what a good grovel looks like.
Looking forward to reading more about the couples in this series! The next book is a throuple, so if that's your jam, you are in for a real treat.
**I received a free copy via NetGalley and this is my honest review.**
Luna & Titan are probably one of my favorite couples Anna has written. This is most likely because I’m obsessed with enemies to lovers and everything it brings to the table. Anna delivered with the angst and sexual tension with these two.
I loved watching these characters go through their own inner battles as well as the ones they faced with each other. The development of Titan & Luna from start to finish was beautifully portrayed.
The spice tho… don’t get me started. That was a whole other level of heat. Panty drenching heat to be exact.
I love the ongoing plot throughout this series and absolutely cannot wait for the next book to see more of it unraveled!!
🔥 “Good girl, Hot Sauce. I like it when you submit.” ~~~ Luna is the absolute best! Not only is she an amazing, loyal and supportive friend, but she’s willing to do everything in her power to help those in need. Even more, Hot Sauce is so fierce, caring, mouthy and so much fun. And all that sass! Even her job sounds so fun! Luna’s definitely a force to be reckoned with! I just loved her for always being so open and never afraid to speak her mind, although sometimes she could be quite reckless and that mouth often got her in trouble. Nevertheless, Luna is amazing exactly as she is and I loved her so, so much!
Titan is one huge alpha who takes his responsibility as a pack enforcer very seriously. He’s strong, fearsome and loyal. Even more, he’s fiercely protective not only of his pack but also of the unfortunate omegas from Declan’s pack, willing to do everything in his power to make their lives easier. Titan might often appear quiet, growly and grumpy, but that male has a huge heart. And his domineering nature is just so… RAWR! Titan is one absolutely magnificent male and I adored every single thing about him!
The development of their relationship was a wild rollercoaster ride and I loved every moment of it! At first, those two were like fire and ice, with Luna teasing Titan non-stop and constantly pushing him out of his comfort zone. Even more, Titan prefers his women submissive and obedient - everything Luna is not. You’d think that they would not work… Or would they…? Titan and Luna were so perfect for each other but their road to happiness was a bumpy one. I loved the time they spent together, trying to help Declan’s omegas and getting to know one another and revealing their true selves. Building trust was not easy between them and both were quite the hot mess and didn’t handle some situations well, which led to so much tension, frustration and miscommunication. Well, they might start as enemies-to-enemies, but their attraction was undeniable from the start and they just couldn’t keep their hands off each other. The passionate moments they shared were blazing hot and I loved not only their D/s dynamic in the bedroom, but also the gentle lovemaking. I just couldn’t get enough of those two!
In addition, the storyline keeps getting more and more interesting! Stone’s pack has to figure out how to save Declan’s omegas and, now, they also have to deal with a religious zealot. And to top it off, there’s a Government research team on the premises, wanting to learn more about the Alphas and the Omegas. With everything happening, I was glued to the pages till the very end.
Overall, the story is another spectacular addition to the series! It’s filled with danger, action, suspense, humor, violence, twists, smoking-hot romance and marvellous characters!
I absolutely loved every page of it and cannot wait to see what happens next!
LUNA & TITAN!!! Holy Lord.... These fated mates are bringing all of the Heart, HEAT and Humour! and I'm sooo here for it ALL.
From the first until the very last word Titan and Luna's enemies to lovers romance story had me hooked. The banter between them was humorous and filled with sexual tension. HOT!!! The lust was burning strong. The push and pull / angst was heart squeezing and at times frustrating. These two were killing me slowly at times!! The steam was blush producing and cold shower inducing. Did I say it was hhhoootttt? The new and continuing plots were addictive, intriguing, a teeny bit frustrating (throat punches are needed), emotional and a little suspenseful.
I adored both of these characters. Titan is the perfect blend of broody, alpha, protective, sweet and sexy. He really does make for the perfect pack enforcer. Luna is impossible not to love. She's strong, determined, fun, caring and sassy as heck. She fits in perfectly with the pack and all of the omegas.
Anna Fury has created an amazing world. I loved re-visiting some old favourites while getting to know a few newer characters a little more. With a continuing plot and a few sneak peeks of future storylines I can't wait to dive back in to this world again.
Enemies to lovers is one of my favourite tropes and Luna and Titan really played into it in this book. The snark and banter was ripe with sexual tension and I loved every minute of it.
Titan fits in so well with the pack and makes an amazing enforcer. Luna blends in well too and it’s clear she really cares for all the omegas. I really love this pack and it felt good to be back with them again. The little glances we got into future books/future couples was such a tease!
The heat was deeeelicious! Mrs Fury knows just how to write that spice we’re all craving for! 😏🥵 The third act break up was devastating but the make-up scenes were totally worth it hehe
The fact that a certain villain hasn’t gotten their comeuppance yet is driving me wild though. They were such a massive bag of dicks in this book that it made me want to throw my phone at the wall. I can’t wait to see what becomes of them in the next books!
If you love enemies to lovers, found family, asshole villains, spicy scenes and fated mates, this book is 100% for you!!
I wanted more though… first, I think Luna should have pulled a Pen with Titan, but maybe I’m just salty like that? I was really frustrated with Titan because he demanded emotional vulnerability without offering emotional vulnerability.
Overall, this series is still really enjoyable with all of the good elements from Alpha Compound: a dystopia, super powers, and wolf shifters building their pack/family. This series seems to be more character driven, so if you thought the romance was too brief in Alpha Compound, you’ll like this series better.
Unfortunately, the series isn’t finished. We have a pack leader and an enforcer, and the third book is the healer/spirit. By my count, we are missing the seer (I’m very excited for Ash’s story) and the strategist. There are still a lot of unanswered questions, many of which cannot be answered until the omegas come into their powers. So I’m on the edge of my seat for these characters to get their ducks all lined up!
Dear Anna Fury, when will we have the last two books?!
I did not think that anyone would ever come close to beating Pen out for my favorite FMC, but Luna sure does give Pen a run for her money. Luna is outspoken, sassy, challenging, but also has a good heart with a softness that is quite beautiful. Titan is also similar, as he has built up a strong wall a round his heart, and is very prickly to Luna as she made him question what he wanted in life. I cried for Luna, but also felt proud of her for sticking to her guns. I also was proud of Titan for slowly lowering his walls, so he could appreciate the beauty that was waiting for him the entire time.
I love the world building and all the characters in this spinoff series from Anna. And the spice is top notch, with creativity in the omegaverse she has created. I am so invested in everyone's relationships, that I feel like I am right there with all the characters in Ayas. Love. Obsessed.
Heartless Heathen by Anna Fury is a dystopian shifter romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Tor Thom and Mollie Stark. This is the second book in the Northern Rejects series.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Titan and Luna. Their chemistry was off the charts. I loved the push and pull between them. I liked that we got both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Pretty Little Sinner to be released on audio so I can get Julia, James, and Cassian's story.
Tor and Mollie did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a dystopian romance, shifter romance, omegaverse romance, or romantic suspense.
Maybe because I didn’t read the prequel series or the 1st book of the trilogy, but this book was confusing?
I looked into how the “awaken virus” worked and from what I got from the prequel (skimmed google & first prequel) it didn’t say much? More of a smut book than an in depth story… which is totally fine, except when you introduce fantasy into your books, a little back story to the “main concept” of the series should be thrown in (when they are said they could be read as standalone)
Every other book I’ve read (as stand alone options in a series) has thrown the lore into it somewhere. I was super confused about the omegas.
The smut was good… except when he called her pussy “sloppy wet” that killed the damn mood. The grammar in this book was also terrible.
Also, Canadian political references were freaken awful… maybe do more research?
Blazing hot! The tension between Luna and Titan grows until it becomes unbearable for either one of them. The pull they feel towards one another is undeniable. Once they finally gave in, I swear angels were singing in the background somewhere. Of course, every relationship has it's ups and downs and with the stakes how they are in the Ayas, the downs are freaking brutal. The pack dynamics continue to grow and change. It's wonderful how each member brings something to the table and becomes an integral part of each other's life. You really see that with Luna in this book. It was delicious and sensual and more than I even expected. I can't wait for the next book. P.s. - the epilogue is so so worth subscribing to the newsletter. Just saying. You will Not be disappointed.
A Dystopian Shifter Romance Northern Rejects - Book Two Heartless Heathen Authour: Anna Fury @annafuryauthor
“You do things to me, Luna. My lack of control around you is deeply unsettling. But when you’re close to me like this, I can’t find it in me to give a shit.”
"I’ve never been connected with someone like this in my entire goddamn life, and I will never recover from this experience."
Hot damn! I knew the tension between Titan and Luna was going to be off-the-charts hot, anyone could see it in the last book. It was all down to both of them finally getting their heads out of their asses.
I honestly didn’t know if they were ever going to give in to the pull, but no matter what they told themselves there was no way they could stay away from each other. The chemistry/bond between them was way too strong for them both to ignore. The banter between these was hilarious to witness. I love the chosen family this series as well as the compound series has created. It always leaves me wanting more because I want to learn more about each of the characters and I'm so excited to keep reading more from this series as it comes out. I love getting glimpses of the previous characters from all of Anna’s Dystopian Shifter Romances.
This book had me on the edge of my seat when it came to these two because it was an emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, I swooned and I cried during this book. I was very emotionally invested and when the characters were going through something I felt like I was going through it with them and that's just how talented Anna is. I will always read her books and I am addicted to her style of omegaverse. Anna’s writing is my crack and I am not afraid to admit that I am addicted.
Titan and Luna go together about like oil and water. Especially when you give it a good shake and you can’t tell which is which anymore. Luna—aptly nicknamed Hot Sauce—is a cali girl right down to her expensive endowments. Titan is the growly pack enforcer who takes looking after his pack very seriously. Put them together and its enemies to enemies. Until it’s not. The spice level between these two is off the charts! Titan is protective where Luna is strong and together, they fight fiercely to keep those they love safe from the enemy. Luna has been a favorite since she came on page, and I loved every second of her smart mouth attitude and the way she inevitably brought Titan to his knees. All the stars.
Overall this book was enjoyable. I think I liked it more than book one too. The characters continue to be hot and interesting. The one downside to this series is that each book is connected with one main conflict/bad guy. I don't find that guy very interesting so I could skip those sections of the book completely.
This one is quite the journey. I loved Luna and Titan’s banter but boy were they a roller coaster. Every time I thought they were getting somewhere there was another turn. The good moments were really really good. Their chemistry together was electric to read. When they finally gave in, oh my goodness. It was perfect. This is my favorite by far of the Northern Rejects series. I am really looking forward to the next book.
The second book of the Nothern Rejects series features Titan, the bar owner and Erin and Stone's best friend. The quiet, huge, alpha sees his life turns upside down when Luna arrives to help Erin in book one and he accepts to be the pack enforcer. This enemies-to-lovers dystopian ov romance is the perfect balance between steam and the tug-of-war expected from the MCs on this genre. I loved this new addition to the series and the snippet of book 3 only left me wanting more of this universe.
This book was HOT! When I read book one to this series I wasn't sure if I was going to love it as much as I did the Alpha Compound Series, but then I got to book Two. Titan and Luna's chemistry truly was off the charts. The angst, the groveling, the spice?! Absolutely incredible. I need to get my hands on a physical copy.
Book 2 in the Northern Rejects series, and this book continues the amazing storyline of this series whilst giving us a really cool hate to love couple. There's a lot of denial on the side of the MMC, which eventually led to a lot of crying and sobbing (on my end) when he finally (FINALLY) realised it all and fixed the third act breakup.
You'll laugh, you'll cry and then you'll cry because you're laughing. Titan and Luna crank the heat in this hotter than sin novel. It's the perfect book to quench your enemies to lovers, forced proximity, he likes her so much he hates her romance needs. Important bits: multiple person 1st pov with all the open door scenes. Don't wait. You need this now.
Loved titan and Luna’s story. The way she wound him up was funny an I’m so glad he got over himself an gave there connection a try although he was a bit frustrating at times there journey wouldn’t have been the same otherwise. Can’t wait to read the next in the series. Would definitely recommend all Anna’s books she’s a great storyteller and can’t wait for more.
Honestly I read this book to get to CJJ- that will be lit .Titan and Luna was a weird forced angst that I just couldn’t get into . I wanted to like it but it felt like a sideshow to CJJ and Asher-Cherry much anticipated drama that has dragged for 4 books . Please Ann Fury- release these books already .
When we met Titan in book one I was SO excited to get more of him because there was an instant attraction to the broody yet protective big man. Luna was this sassy firecracker and I just knew their chemistry was going to be literal fire and YES IT WAS. For me, the more angst the better so this book was exactly what my spicy heart needed.
What a wonderful book. It's filled with danger, excitement, romantic and personal angst, reconciling with parents deaths, and yet some hope with a birth. I enjoyed the banter between Titan and Luna as they forged their way to each other and love. Can't wait to read the next in the series.
