An anti-male, all-girl punk band is ripping up the charts and has declared all-out war on DMC. They're asking for nothing less than the total emasculation of Krauser and his minions, and DMC will need to bring some serious metal might if they hope to squash this new troupe of sultry songstresses. And what the hell is Krauser doing at an amusement park? Planning a new blood sacrifice, perhaps?

Oh Detroit Metal City, how you make me laugh.
Seriously, this stuff is insane. It's a weird mixture of innocence and absolute foulness.
The last chapter s classic.

I'm not sure if this is missing something in translation but misogyny, violence against women, homophobia...

I will have to see some reviews elsewhere and see if the Japanese scene is really that messed up or this is taking something and pushing it over the top. There are some sweet parallel stories. I have already booked the rest of the volumes from the library and it isn't any worse than watching Ace Ventura or that Andrew Dice Clay film...

Rape jokes. There is no amount of good stuff that can balance them out. I almost regret reading this second book. It's not good and the rape jokes just keep going. I know the point is to be transgressive, like punk, but it's not good.

Unless I missed something this volume is how far the anime adaptation got.
Now is time to find out if later volumes improved on the story or if it got really repetitive.

I give this one more star than last time, because I like that there's a riot grrl punk band. Gets a bit more interesting, at least someone is calling out the metalhead poseurs.

Japanese music fans, according to this book, sure are idiots. Buying into whatever cover story their shock value stars purport. It's like the industry of pop idols but metal. Rap as well, there's a rapper in this volume who turns out to be, surprise, a complete poseur.

The main protagonist is still unlikable, and I don't buy that he's secretly a nice guy but gets too caught up in the metal persona. No, he's just a douche. And if he is, why not just embrace that if the comic wants to be so offensive?

And at this point it's just getting annoying that every sex act must be translated as rape. Wouldn't the work 'fuck' be just fine most of the times? I call bad translation.

Sure Japanese might be a bit misogynistic, but come on.

Rape this comic, I mean fuck this comic.

Masih tetep bikin ngakak meski yah, rada berulang sih jokenya. Yg bikin agak aneh, si Negishi ini ternyata kemana mana bawa kostum Krauzer plus make up en rambut palsunya hahaha, even waktu nengok keluarganya di kampung. Konyol sih liat orang kampung-adeknya yg kena imbas musik death metal tanpa tahu itu vokalis ternyata kakaknya.... Satu lagi, waktu Krauzer minta pensiun, penggantinya payah banget hingga ia ngga terima dan muncullah dua Krauzer di panggung... mwahahahaha...

Still an enjoyable comic, but starting to get a little repetitive. The first chapter shows the capitalist pig's second job as a clerk and has a little bit of a love story for him. Our main character tries to leave DMC, but as he's leaving, a replacement Krauser begins to play and he kinda sucks. You know the REAL Krauser ain't havin' that.

First several volues are not so funny, but it gets super funny later!
To fully understand the funniness of this manga, you have to read other manga that are used as parodies such as Slam Dunk, Dragon ball, 81 Diver, etc.

This is a very hilarious manga. I didn't know if had the guts to keep up the fire from the first issue, but it did. The writer came up with some new material that expanded on the DMC universe. The Rap vs. Metal segment cracked me up. I'll be reading the next issue.

Let this be a lesson to you; if your idea is really dumb you will run out of new territory very, very quickly.

I'm done. I can't even read it ironically any more.

He's back and funnier than ever, but this volume is more drama fuel and less laughs.
