Crafty survivor Kousuke is busy getting busy with his brand-spanking new sweetheart, the grand dragon known as Grande, while also finding the time to take a week-long date with his number-one lady love, Sylphy! But it’s high time he got back to searching for those sacred scriptures. Sweet cyclops Ira has a an assemblage of adventurers will accompany Kousuke into the dangerous ruins where the scriptures may lie. But who is this familiar face who’s arrived to take command…?
After a short vacation the work continues. Kousuke and several of his wives set out to find ancient scriptures in the ruins of the Badlands that would confirm the Saint's theory. What follows is a familiar mix of item development, exploration, quick easy fights and various (friendly) harem antics. The story, characters and world are simple, but entertaining and a good palette cleaner of more serious stories. Still, besides it being relatively slow paced, the harem antics can at times become a bit eyeroll inducing, especially since there is a hint of a lack of consent from the male MC. Then again, you got this far in this series, so that should not come as a surprise. So an entertaining quick read.
Oh no it just came out and I am already done reading it!! What a great series. I cannot wait to see what happens next. I truly hope we see more of him inventing and spending time with his women. That ending was really interesting with introducing Grandes followers.
This volume was mostly a leisurely expedition to explore some ruins and do some R&D. Couple low stacks battles but mostly slice of life. I enjoyed it as always but expect that next volume will have more action based on set-up.
The more blatantly wish-fulfillment-y this series gets the more boring it gets. The entire last volume and the first third of this one is dull slice of life filler.
The first volume was fun because the protagonist had to figure out how everything worked, it seemed like he had dragged video game downsides like the blood moon attack with him into the world, and everyone else had hilarious reactions to his ridiculous abilities. That all disappeared by volume 3 and the story hasn't developed to compensate.
