I love this book!!! It has been one of my favorites ever since I was little. I can relate to this story so much from when I was a little girl and my sister was born. I begged for a little sister and when she was born. I regretted it because she always got all the attention. Turns out I really do love having a little sister. This is a great book to read to students in Pre-k-Second grade. It will help them have a good grasp on how to handle newborn siblings. Plus the illustrations are great.

Even though Geraldine (and a certain blanket of hers) and I go way back, I had never heard of her baby brother!
I like how her parents don't try too hard to reconcile Geraldine to the noisy little invader. She gets enough space so she can come to the baby when she's ready.
Also, I thought Geraldine's response to her mother after being ignored all day long was right on the money. "Geraldine turned away. 'I don't see you.' Mama sat down on the edge of the bed, but Geraldine slid off the other side and walked out the door."

This is a great book for a child who is about to be an older sibling. The book shows Geraldine becoming upset because she was not given any attention, then she still plays with him when everyone was asleep. I wish the book mentioned she was being ignored, or that she was upset, because I do not think children will only see the baby crying the whole time. Overall I recommend this for children with sisters/brothers on the way.

I wish I would've known about this book when we brought our newborn home to our 4 yr old. It's a little more realistic than most other new baby in the house books and is pretty cute when Geraldine finally accepts him. Although the way she is able to get him to sleep may be totally unrealistic, the amount of care and crying to be expected from a newborn would be easy to relate to.

Geraldine becomes an older sister! How sweet. Like most New younger sibling in the house books, Geraldine learns to accept and love the new addition and form her own special bond with it. And what an adorable little baby her brother is, too.

This is a cute book, not incredibly clever or funny, but just a nice book about adjusting to a new sibling. Our kids loved books about pigs when they were young, so we collected quite a few. This one has very cute illustrations and a nice, calm story. Young readers would enjoy it a lot.

Great book for new sibiling rivalrary. Helps those who may feel the way geraldine does express themselves and maybe take a chance and get to know their sibiling.

A nice little story that shows big sister Geraldine eventually helping out her little brother Willie. Willie cries a lot and Geraldine isn’t too happy about it, she even misses dinner. Then she interacts with her new baby brother, pulls funny faces, and read him a story. This stops him crying and they both fall asleep. Florence loves the funny faces and making the crying boos s that Willie the baby pig would make.
