The time has come to reenter the famous blood-soaked arena of Bayalon, and my lovers and I have come prepared to leave a mark on this oasis city like no one has before.
But we want more than riches from these next fights.
We want glory.
We want to become the stuff of legends.
And if I have to duel a massive demon bastard to gain another incredible warrior woman along the way, then so be it.
Still kind of interesting but needs more world building
The writing is fairly superficial with lots of unexplained phenomenon, so the world building is poorly developed. For example, the sentinent fog that works as a portal for only the MC's truck..... really? The MC hasnt devoted enough consideration to taking over this bosses business so he's using his friend spoofing cargo as a stop gap. Thats weak! Taking over the trucking company to control access to Spitfire should be a priority second only to training and equiping his warrior women.
How is the MC going to explain a winged alien that he's planning to take back to earth? Why was there no mention of the stake that John put up for the arena? The story reads like he sold all his winnings and if his warriors lost he'd be in trouble. There was no description of how the betting operated or the politics of how fights are arranged. There is no mention of an underground movement for warrriors to get better conditions, or overthrow the system of backers controlling them. Why is John not making deals to transport carefully considered products between earth and desert world cities; foods, textiles, clothing, furniture, technology, magic? Truckers know that its bad business to run empty. He has exclusive access to untapped markets that is being squandered.
Despite these flaws, the story has potential. Hopefully the author will address these types of issues to make the story better.
Spoiler alerts! Overall, the book was good. Some of the choices the characters made and how the author wrote it caused me to reread certain paragraphs just to make sure I read it correctly. Why is Indy still using a chain whip along with an esoteric type of sword and still getting her ass kicked but still winning. I feel like she only won those fights because she is a main character. Then after John kills the main bad guy(can't remember his name) he decides that then is the best time to look over their winnings and wait until they get into Spitfire. Plus, the don't even loot the main bad guy. Or at least check for loot. It was very frustrating to read certain parts of this book.
Book Two delivered! The story was fun, fast paced filled with action, adventure and spice. John and his friend have been causing personal chaos for his greedy, asshole of a boss freeing him up to Bring the girls to the fights in the Arenas. The final fight is very well choreographed! But the fight with the evil demon owner was excellent, while adding another kick ass warrior to the harem. Now with a new mission from the elders of Bayalon John needs to go home and secure his truck. Book 3 promises to be interesting to the together these plot lines!
More battles, more treasures and another fierce and beautiful arena fighter to recruit is just the start of this awesome novel.
With schemes both on earth and in the desert world of arena battles underway, this book expands on what we know and gives us a glimpse of the world beyond the arena fights
And with that Interesting development at the end, I'm looking forward to book 3!
Unique harem concept of a trucker hero...& well written.
Interesting harem concept? Check! Well plotted story? Check! Unique female characters? Check! Take a normal trucker, add a larcenous friend to help work to "free" the MC from a jerk of a boss, throw in a gladiator-style arena where big bucks can be earned and you have this series! I can't wait to read the next book!
Always wanting more! Great addition to the series I like that we see him grow as a manager essentially and the women get more comfortable showing emotions and having fun on earth
This was a thrilling journey as we join our protagonist as he grows his cadre of fighters/harem exp?boring this world is a true delight! I eagerly await the next chapter in this journey!
A phenomenal story, and it satisfies a little bit of that old Smokey and the Bandit love that we all have as kids when we see big trucks rolling down the road. Cannot wait for the next one.
As always another fantastic book has been set before us. It a very well written story and really kept me reading much later and longer than I ever plan on. I get pulled into these books and have a very hard time putting them down.
As with all this author's writings a well written and edited adventure!!! Exciting battles, slice of life activities, great characters and adult fantasy activities throughout the whole story!!! I can't wait to see what comes next for our adventures!!!
On of my favorite newer series. After Logan Jacob's finished Arena, I was very sad, and even though the premise is totally different this series carries the same laughs and wit. Book 3 can't come fast enough.
This series is getting better. It started out slow but has been getting better. There is quit a bit going on in John life. And with his warrior's help he is getting rich. I just went and downloaded the third book.
Well written and and paced, this author is a Beast who continues to pump out stories that while having adult content are great fantasy reads. Recommended
Another fantastic addition to the series. Can’t wait to see what happens next! More badass warrior women and epic fights. Plus always excitement back home on earth!
