Lucas Brothers #5

Un cowboy déterminé

Rate this book

I'm just a simple small town country girl, haunted by Alpha Men who talk in my head 24 hours a day.

I knew I wanted to write when it became clear I couldn't be happy with just viewing other people's stories. I always wanted to rewrite them.

Like why did Jack have to die? Why couldn't Rose move her butt over? Because that was a huge piece of wood she was on, people.

Happy Endings should be fought for, but they should always happen. Mine might take some curves and twists, but they eventually get there.

Having published over fifty stories, it always feels surreal that this is my life. Hitting USA Today had me crying for days, but nothing is more special than hearing from readers that they loved one of my books.

I fell in love with Ida Sue when I first met her in The Perfect Stroke. And since then I have been entranced with what comes out of her mouth. She is an absolute hoot! She's also my idol. For those of you know who she is you'll understand that but for those that have not met Ida Sue? Well you need to. Everyone needs an Ida Sue in their lives.

Ida Sue, single mom to nine kids. Yes you read that correctly, 9 kids! A more kickass heroine I've yet to meet this lady is the bomb. All shes ever wanted is to belong, to know that she mattered. She thought she'd finally found that with Orville but then that was taken away from her. But Ida Sue is not one to let this get her down. A hardworking woman who loves her kids to death. When I think about it maybe life happens for a reason and the bad shit you have to endure along the way was leading her straight to Jansen.

Jansen Reed knows heartache and losing what he thought was his forever. Drifting from town to town he pretty much thought he'd never get a second chance at forever. But upon meeting Ida Sue that's all about to change. This woman, her plain speaking and her attitude of never letting things weigh her down has him captivated. That is when she's not being a bitch to him. lol.

Throw in her kids and OMG I'm dying here. I want to be their neighbor. And hell if I had kids I'd want them hanging with these ones.

This story alternates with laughter so loud that you can't catch your breath and then Jordan throws in those moments that have you crying.

These characters are addictive. I read it one sitting and the only thing I could say bad about it is that it ended. That's it. The story was a page turner and it never stopped moving.

Jordan never lets a reader down. Her ability to create characters that you fall in love with is second to none. Get ready to have Jansen rock your world!

Jordan Marie has mastered the alpha beast-man who walks into a story ready to steal hearts and chew bubblegum...and I'm not sure this boy EVER had any gum. Jansen Reed is everything lovable in a good hero. Intense, bantery, as easy to control as a wildfire, and just a *touch* moody. I'm not going to tell you how the swoon unfolds for one lucky lady, but I know one thing: this is the HOTTEST Lucas Brothers book yet. Grab it FREE in Kindle Unlimited!

When the Crayola kids meddle in their mom's business!
Ida sue and Jansen make their colorful appearances in all of the novels of the Crayola Gang... and they successfully leave their readers in stitches! Now they get their own story told in "Knocking Boots"... we get acquainted with how this couple started off, not always the pretty picture we assume reading the previous novels. Their pasts were not easy on them and they came into each other's lives at a moment they both needed one another like two peas in a pod. Get to know Ida Sue before she became a hilarious, meddling mother to her kids and fall even MORE in love with her because she goes to hell and back for her babies... not allowing anyone or anything to taint their souls. 5 Old Fashioned Romantic Stars for "Knocking Boots"... and meet one very strong woman who suppresses everything she goes through to keep her children happy. RESPECT for Ida Sue!

This cowboy will stop at nothing to lasso his bride.
Too bad she won’t cooperate.

I don't know who Jansen Reed thinks he is, but I'm pretty sure he's the reason God gave me the middle finger.

He’s frustrating and likes to play on my last nerve.
He's also drop-dead gorgeous and my walking fantasy.
Which means he's bad news.

As a single mother, I don’t have time for his nonsense.
Except when he tips his hat and gives me an easy smile, with those twinkling dark eyes,
I forget that I’ve given up on men.

He promises me forever, and tries to prove that he’s one cowboy that won’t ride away in the sunset.

Something about him makes me want to believe in fairy tales again.
But, girls like me don’t get happy endings and we sure don't fall in love.
Do we?

Welcome back to the world of the Lucas Brothers. This is a complete standalone romance. So, if you're new to the series, this is a great place to start! Plus, there's a guaranteed Happy Ever After inside.

Let's of by saying Jordan Marie is one of my favorite author's to read and I love every time she puts out another book as we loved all her MC Romance Series they were simply the best and this current read was and awesome read for us and we loved it.We really enjoyed it as it was one of the funniest books I have read to date.

From the first moment we first meet this couple we new they were going to take us on one heck of a ride and they did just that.We really enjoyed the story from cover to cover as it was filled with wonderful character's and the author made it easy to love them but, also fall in love with them especially that Hellion Tribe of Ida's' . Omg! did they make us laugh out loud with all their antic's and all those family get together conversations where they were always plotting but, you could not help but feel the love that this family had among them and that they wanted only for their mom to be happy and that was their main goal in life was to see to her happiness.

Ida Sue-We found to be sweet, kind, loving, feisty, had a backbone, was independent, spoke her mind ,had a sense of humor and was a wonderful mother to her 9 children but, she also carries around demons from her past that make her a  little lost and broken.

Janesen- Omg ! We fell for him from the moment he refused to due business with a man spouting off at the mouth about a women he didn't even know.We found him to be a savior, loving, kind, protective,a dad figure that was a gentle soul but, he was also a drifter who was chasing something is whole life without ever really knowing what he was chasing until her met Ida Sue and her family.

Ida-s children were just hilarious and they gave us tons of laughs and we loved each and every one of them what a hoot!We loved the electric names choices and their names were fitting for some of them.

Overall the story was one of those books that just makes you feel good and we loved, laughed, cried and fell in love with all these wonderful character's that put a permanent smile on my face to the very end. For us the ending was perfect and fitting for this couple. lol

The thing we loved most about this story is that it was easy to connect with the character's we are reading about and we love when that happens because from the onset of the story we already know we are going to love it and we did just that !

The author has done it again and this book goes onto our keeper pile to be read over and over again.

Recommended read to all !

I’ll start by saying I love Ida Sue. In the previous books she was, at times, the highlight of the book. In her story, we didn’t get her quirky side. What we did get was her back story and how she met Jansen. Who knew Jansen was such an alpha in disguise! We get a few chapters from the kids POV which were cute. While this installment of the series wasnt my favorite, I still enjoyed it and can’t wait to see whose book is next.

Jansen is a protective sort, “he has one time to make a move on you and I’ll introduce his face to my fist.” Jansen is often caught off guard by his woman, "...and I stop in my tracks, pulling back to look at her. “The eff you say?” I liked this book, I loved Jansen.

recensione a cura del blog "libri magnetici" by Meghan

5 SMOOCHES!

As a fan of Jordan Marie's since her first book was released, it's a given that if she releases it, I will read it. I hate to pigeonhole an author, it's not fair to them. But I don’t think I was the only one of Jordan’s readers who automatically thought of gripping, gritty, raw and deeply emotional MC romances when they thought of her work. A little over two years ago, though, that changed when she released The Perfect Stroke. Turns out that sexy romantic comedies are another genre that is totally in Jordan Marie's wheelhouse. She’s a natural, and looking back over the entirety of her work, I really shouldn’t have been surprised. She totally she nailed it, and it’s because this author is exceptional storyteller.

Knocking Boots takes readers back to the beginning, before Gray and CC, to fan-favorites, Ida Sue and Jansen. This, folks, is where the Crayola Gang began. This book was so funny and so very sexy with Ida Sue and Jansen’s off-the-charts chemistry and their effortlessly witty, back-and-forth bantering. We see the Ida Sue’s nine kids as, well, kids—and we even get to see Hamburger as a calf, and not as the bovine version of a canine that he’s grown to be over the years. But most importantly, we learn the stories of Ida Sue and Jansen and how they were before they clicked together and became whole. This couple’s relationship has always been fiery and rock-solid, and while it definitely started out fiery, it was a bit more rocky before they got to the solid part. It was a fantastic look back at this family’s beloved matriarch, her personal history and that of the man who loves her endlessly.

Side-splitting humor, steamy romance and the spirited characters readers have come to love, Jordan Marie takes fans back in time to where it all started. It wouldn’t be a Jordan Marie story with a punch to the feels, and she delivers those blows between the belly laughs and passionate encounters. Five smooches from me for Knocking Boots by Jordan Marie!

"I don't know who Jansen Reed thinks he is, but I'm pretty sure he's the reason God gave me the middle finger."

The hard-as-nails, zany, no-holds-barred, tell-it-like-it-is matriarch of the Lucas Family finally gets her story...and we find out how she and Jansen came to be. She has been a joy to read throughout the series, and even though we are going way back in time in this story, it did not change my sheer glee in reading the banter between her and Jansen, as well as the banter between all of them. I laughed out loud for so long and hard at one point, my dog wouldn't even sit with me anymore. This series has made my mood improve tenfold with each one I've devoured.

"Her smile lives in my head and when I close my eyes...it's there. Smiling Bright. For me."

Not all fun and games, the balance between heat and sweet was perfectly executed where I found myself tearing up, and other times grinning big...I just loved these two so hard. Ida Sue and Jansen were dragging along skeletons from the past, and I loved seeing their defenses lower and succumb to the attraction you could feel tangibly. This one lent insight to the whole gang and answered a whole lot of questions that didn't come up in prior reads, which I loved. There are not many, if any characters out there quite like Ida Sue, which is why she steals the show in this one. I thank the Author for providing a copy to review.

"Where have you been all my life?" she asks. "Looking for you." She may not know it, but that's the God's honest truth. She's the answer to every question, to every prayer, to every wish.

Ida Sue

***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review***

This book was more than I hoped for Ida Sue is a woman that we all strive to be. Through every sacrifice she has made is was all done in the the good of her kids an she prevailed no matter what she had to go through. Jordan always weaves a tale that pulls you in with no sign of letting go and you feel as if each and every character she writes is you or someone you know who is going through the same thing. Jansen is a man determined and set in his ways but his ways are extraordinary an are nothing short of a man will to risk it all for the woman he loves. I love this book something SPECTACULAR and I’m willing to bet you will too definitely PICK THIS UP!!!!

I love this family! This is Ida Sue's story, and I am so glad she got her own book. Ida Sue may say the most crazy and wackiest things, but she is also a strong female heroine, who has had her share of heartache and loss, but loves each of her nine children with everything she has. Jansen sees the strength in Ida Sue and the love she shows her children, and would give anything for her to love him too. He quickly becomes attached to all the Lucas clan, as if they were his. Will Ida Sue finally get her happy ever after with the sexy cowboy? I can't wait to read more of their story in future books!

Knocking Boots - Is the story of Ida Sue & Jansen and what a story they have to tell.

This book is funny, heart-warming, sexy and everything we love about Ida Sue & Jansen. we also get to learn so much more of their love story and secrets never shared about Ida Sue.

The Lucas children are treasures, I loved reading about them when they were all young and seeing a family so unique and close brings a warm feeling to my heart.

A one click must for lovers of this series and those who are new to the Lucas series, a book that is fun to read & a true romance.

I have to say this book surprised me. I knew I would love it because come on its Ida Sue what's not to love! What surprised me was how real it was. I got to see into Ida Sue and Jansen life in a way I didn't expect. It was moving and real and I loved it!! Jansen is a true cowboy and I would hope every woman gets one just like him. Cows and free milk...SMH! Love this woman so much! This was a definite 5 star read and one I'm for sure getting in paperback to have on my shelf! Love this whole series❤

Beginning of Ida Sue & Jansen

So this is the beginning!! I have loved all the Lucas sibling stories and adored Ida Sue and her craziness from day one! It was a good story and I loved learning more about how Jansen and Ida Sue became a couple. I understand the trust issues Ida Sue had but at one point of your giving your home, your body and having him around your kids you better trust him enough to marry him & the your lives together. If I had to read one more time " why buy the cow, when you can get the milk free" I was going to scream & throw my kindle!! I love Ida Sue but her insecurities with her relationship with Jansen and trusting him really got on my nerves! Totally would have been a 5 star read had Ida Sue fully given her body, mind and heart to Jansen and married him! Perfect opportunity with this book to give the fans that bonus!😕 doesn't mean I still don't love her just means I wanna snack her upside the head!

Ive always thought of Ida Sue as quirky and weird but after this book she's my new hero. I can't imagine what all she went through getting pregnant so young parents being douches and all that. And I can't even imagine living in a town like Mason I'd end up on Snapped lol. Jansen is the perfect counterpart to Ida Sue and there relationship kept me on my toes. I really enjoyed this book!!!

Lol seriously yo find out the beginning of these two, it was a bittersweet ride. A ride that was so worth it in the end. Jordan you are amazing and this book is another reason why we all think so.

Great!

After reading the previous books in the series, I have often wondered about Ida Sue and her story.
I think this may just be my favourite book by Jordan Marie so far, I really enjoyed it. Ida Sue is such an interesting character and delving into her story and finding what shaped her moved me.
There's plenty of humour and Jansen was just lovely. I did find it refreshingly good to read a story about people my age, it was an even better read to me for it!

First book I've read from this author. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. It has like... 6 pov's, but mostly the two MC's. I can't really find the words at the moment to describe my thoughts on this any more. It did have a HEA, though. I'd give it 3.5 🌟's
