On Christmas Eve, a woman stumbles through a cemetery, not knowing who or where she is...
Myra sat beside Weston, staring up at the December sky. "I remember sitting in this place watching the moon disappear a little more each night, like the head of a dandelion blowing in the wind. That was how I felt about my life."
"But you know what happens when those dandelion seeds spread," Weston said. "The wind carries them away to be planted and thrive elsewhere. You may feel as if you're losing yourself, but your love is planting hope for new life in others."
On Christmas Eve, Weston Cline frantically searches for the woman he loves, psychiatrist Myra Maxwell. She fled her clinic in the middle of the day, and he's heard nothing from her since. When he can't find her in the city, he decides to search in her hometown, where he's made enemies in the past and must tread lightly.
Will Weston be able to find Myra and help her recover her memories, or will his past sins prevent him from reaching her?

The final coat of polish has been applied and Hannah Alexander is eager for our readers to discover the adventure that awaits them when Double Blind: A Christian Romantic Suspense launches March 31st.
Below are a few of our favorite excerpts from our latest release. We promise, no spoilers. --------------------------------------------------------------- Sheila walked out of the room and forced herself to aim for the back entrance, where a park-like setting lured her to gentle woods and a walking trail just outside that door. Unfortunately, knowing Preston was in the office made her steps falter. The man was like a banana split with whipped cream, nuts, and cherries on top, with three of her favorite flavors of ice cream—chocolate, coconut, and almond. ----------------------------------------------------------- He gazed down into that ultra-feminine face with the gamine features, hazel eyes, firm chin. Why did all the women in his life have such stout hearts? His own sister had battled threats from a stalker for years. His mother continued to battle a wicked mental illness with a brave spirit that had been bruised and wounded again and again, but never broken. ----------------------------------------------------------- "You can battle your fear, and even the spirit of evil, only with good. All good in my life comes from the Holy Spirit of God, not from my own strength or so-called magic words or ancient rituals and symbols. From God alone." ----------------------------------------------------------- "Nobody has the right to control me."
"The One who creates has every right to control His creation. When we allow Him to guide us, we're wisely acknowledging His role in the universe." ----------------------------------------------------------- "I was dedicated," Preston said. "My whole family was dedicated. He was the One Who turned His back on us. I finally got the message strong and clear, even though my family didn't."
"The Shepherd doesn't abandon His sheep," Blaze said. "That wouldn't have been a message from God." ----------------------------------------------------------- "What has her faith offered her?"
"So that bit about everlasting life and heaven and all that soared right over your head in Sunday school?" Blaze asked. ---------------------------------------------------------- On Monday morning, the silent beauty of passing scenery lulled Sheila to the edge of slumber. The ochre and mauve of the peaks, and the uneven, jutting edges at the horizon, the gentle turquoise of the unbroken sky, had drawn her heart back to this place over and over again. She allowed the colors to settle into her soul as her eyes closed. ----------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for your support and happy reading. ----------------------------------------------------------- ALL PRE-ORDERS & LAUNCH DAY ONLY 99¢

"A Series of Mysteries" This is a very touching story of a powerful Christian faith at work in daily lives. The truth of the Gospel is shared in a non-threatening way for those who are seeking. For those who want to help the seekers find the One they are seeking without constantly preaching at them, the author does a great job of sharing how the way we live conveys a message. So much truth is wrapped up in this story of a Christian psychiatrist who has suddenly lost all knowledge of who she is and of the people and events in her life. When Myra Maxwell comes to herself, running through a cemetery at night with no clue of who she is, where she is, or how she got there, she realizes she has amnesia from a fugue state, but she cannot figure out what would have caused it (as my son said when I was telling him about the book, she was “confugued”). The first mystery is what brought this on. Her friends stick with her to help her through the trauma and other mysteries are brought to light. I have no medical training but I have confidence that Hannah Alexander has accurately described a true mental condition. The author has written a very interesting story of love, pain, drama, and so much more and tied it together with the Good News that God loves us all no matter what our state of mind or life circumstances. I highly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
Dandelion Moon is a continuation of book 1 (in my opinion). The exception being, the focus of book two is Myra and Weston rather the Joy and Zack; however, Joy and Zack are very much part of this book (thankfully) - and we see their happily-ever-after.
Weston was not very likable in book 1, but that all changes in book 2. He is head-over-heels in love with Myra and will do anything to help and protect her, except lie about is faith or lack thereof.
Myra is in a state of amnesia. She only remembers Weston. She's desperate to get her memory back, or is she? The memories terrify her.
As with book 1, I sometimes had difficulty following who was doing the talking, but all-in-all an enjoyable book. Book 2 left us with an assumed happily-ever-after, but I'm hopeful that will be resolved with book 3.
This is the second book in the Hallowed Halls series. Since I've read the first book, I wanted to continue the series with this one. I was rather disappointed. This book continues the story of the first, with many of the same characters, with the emphasis this time on Myra, who is in a fugue state. With the help of her friends, she slowly recovers some of her memory and discovers what sent her into this state. There is a very mild mystery and a lot of talk about forgiveness and references to "Someone" instead of just calling God by His name. It wasn't as satisfying of a book as I'd hope; I was glad to be done with it.
Dandelion Moons are not very solid and secure, are they? Even though I missed reading the first book in the series, it was easy to catch up. What attracted me to this book was the condition Dr. Myra Maxwells found herself, stumbling in the darkness in a cemetery, with no memory of who she was and why she was there! I learned a new word : fugue, a "state of loss of awareness of one's identity" or history, often brough on by a significant tragedy, "fyoog." A non-believer watched those around him who were Christians and observed how they handled life and its hardships. Someone's death was called a suicide, but further discoveries include combining prescribed medicines with St. John's wort, melatonin, and 5HTP, etc.
I am so enjoying this series and this second book has been a blessing to me. As I read it and watch the characters struggle with their faith in God and what He seemed to be doing in their lives it made me realize that we have to continue to trust and have faith even when God is not doing what we are asking Him to do. Of course in the book everything worked out in the end and though it may not be the same for us in real life still we trust that God loves us and knows what is best for us. One more book in the series that I need to get my hands on.
Hannah Alexander has consistently put out gripping suspense. Dandelion Moon, to my way of thinking, does not meet that standard. Maybe I had too much time between reading Hallowed Halls and this one, but I really struggled to finish it. That said, I would still like to read the concluding book, A Class Act. I'm guessing Book 2 was just a fluke, because every other book I've read by this author team has been fantastic.
Great follow up to the first book in the series, and not quite a standalone. But good characters , good conflict, and great results. You'll love Weston's and Myra's story.
Once again, a strong story is delivered. A story of learning to trust, learning to forgive what most would seem unforgivable. A story of learning how much God loves us, even though we may have done horrible things to someone else. I highly recommend this book!
Kept my attention from the very beginning. Would recommend this author to anyone who likes Christian suspense novels. Part of a series, but can still be read alone.
I love this deep dedication to give the time to seek the right answers for each patient. I loved the way love for God helped in very stressful situations the way they proved accidentally death instead of suicide.
This is book 2 of the Hallowed Halls series. Even though you can read this one without reading the first. I would definitely recommend reading the first one "Hallowed Halls", its a great read too. You will have a deeper understand of all the characters and their history, if you read Hallowed Halls first.
Myra Maxwell has no idea who she is or where she is, As her dear friends try and help her put her life back together and find her memory her greatest fear is what is suppressing it. Even though she has no idea who she is she still remembers many things from her practice as a Psychiatrist, and her strong faith in God. Will she be able to unlock the secrets or will it get the best of her?
Weston Cline has no idea what has happened to Myra and must trust those who he has wronged to help him find her. Will he be able to prove he is a changed man or is forgiveness beyond his reach. He wonders how God could ever love someone like him and why God allows such horrible things to happen.
Joy and Zack, whom we met in Hallowed Halls, have struggles of their own. They must truly forgive Weston for all the damage he has done and be the testimony God intended them to be. Is all this stress to much for their relationship or will it grow and blossom?
I love the way the way Hannah Alexander details the medical side of things and the many aspects of her novels. This one does not disappoint. The dialogue is great, the characters are deep and have very normal problems, while struggling to live a Christian life. Forgiveness plays a large part of this story and so does being a good Christian example. I was given a copy of this book from the author for my honest opinion. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading good christian contemporary romance.
An intelligent psychiatrist found wandering in a cemetery far from her work in a fugue state. She doesn't know her name, her friends, or how she got there. Quite an interesting set-up. Although it could be a stand-alone, the book is best read as part of the Hallowed Halls series because of the emotions that are displayed by characters. These over-the-top emotions can be best understood if one knows the background intimately of the characters as presented in book one.
We get to revisit many people we met in the first book and see how they deal with life issues. Joy and Zach have rekindled their broken relationship, but what effect will Weston's reappearance do to said relationship? If you love somebody, can you control their relationships, especially if you are pretty sure the relationship is toxic, or do you trust that to the Father? Also, what do you do when there is a serious issue with your employee, who is also your fiance'e? Joy is still working on forgiving those who have wronged Molly, her mother, and that is causing a wedge between her and God. So many thorny situations to work through, either with or without God's leading help. How will it all turn out? Back to the biggest question, will Myra safely regain her memory without disastrous effects?
This was a great book that had me pulling for all people, although often they seemed on different sides.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second time I have read this book — this series… and YES, it’s every bit as good as the first time!
The husband and wife writing team of Cheryl and Mel — that we know as Hannah Alexander has created some amazing characters.
In Hallowed Halls, the first book of the series, we met the main characters of the series — Joy, Myra, Laine, Tressa, Molly, Zack and Weston. In Dandelion Moon, everyone is back, and I was eager to see what’s happening between Joy and Zack, Joy and Weston, Joy and Molly, and what new relationships might occur.
Authentic characters really do matter – and Hannah Alexander does a remarkable job creating realistic characters that the reader can – and does – relate to in the books.
Yes! I was more than a little surprised to read that Weston was emotionally — and romantically — involved with Myra, his therapist… and Joy’s best friend!
I was even more surprised when Zack and Weston come to depend on one another for advice and support concerning Myra, Joy and Molly, along with Sarah, one of Myra’s patients.
But my best feeling… how quickly I became involved in book one… and again in book two; it feels great to enjoy the interesting characters and the anything-but-dull story with such depth that I can’t wait to read the next one in the series!
Book 2 of the Hallowed Hall series was a great read and continues the stories of the same characters. It's a very well written suspense novel with beautiful romance as well. One of my favorite things about thus book is the strong message of faith. Many Christian novels today mention God, but little else. This book deals with how a Christians faith affects their every day life, how Christians fail, and how God gives them the strength to continue. The characters are very well written, the plot is well done and not wordy, and I loved the fact that it also addresses Christians dating non Christians. God has the power to save those we love. We also need to have the patience and wait for His guidance. All of this plays out while Myra tries to remember who she is, and Weston Cline arrives to help, realizing he needs help himself...just a different kind.
I really highly recommend this read. Great story with a great Christian message! Four and a half stars.
I received this book from the author for my honest opinion which I have given.
Wow! What an awesome book. This is the second book in a series and it can stand alone but I would reccomend reading Hallowed Halls first. Many of the characters in the first book are also in this book and I thoroughly enjoyed both books and I am looking forward to reading the third book when it is published in 2015. One of the things I loved about this book is the way this author presents the gospel and spiritual truth through out the book. I feel uplifted after reading this fiction book. Here are some quotes from the book that I loved.
"That's why you aren't God. What if the children you loved were fighting? You don't stop loving one because he is pushing the other. You might discipline him, but you wouldn't hate him. We are all God's creation"
"No one but God is capable of perfect love."
"This might sound trite, but you don't have to believe in Him for Him to believe in you or do whatever He wants to do in your life. He's God."
I learn a lot about medicine, psychology, and people from reading Ms. Alexander's books! Psychologist Myra Maxwell loses her memories--all of them, and finds herself alone in a graveyard at night on Christmas Eve. What shock caused her to go into a "fugue state" and forget her entire past? Her friends Joy, Zack, and Weston help Myra recover her past while struggling through their own issues. Dandelion Moon is sort of a continuation of Hallowed Halls, focused on two of the side characters from the first book--although Zack and Joy also get plenty of page time. This is a romance novel, for certain, focused on relationship and dialogue more than action. The book contains no bad language or violence. It is clean and strongly Christian in focus. Recommended for lovers of medical mystery, romance, and interpersonal drama.
Dandelion Moon is an engaging tale of suspense and romance! I enjoyed Book 1, Hallowed Halls, and was eager to read its sequel. Although this story can stand on its own, I recommend reading the books in order.
Dandelion Moon grabbed my attention on the very first page and my intrigue grew with each page I turned. I loved the medical aspects of the story, as Hannah Alexander’s medical expertise is evident and brings the story to life. I also enjoyed the great characterization, compelling storyline, and palpable emotions. Dandelion Moon is a great story and a recommended read for fans of romantic suspense and medical drama!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All thoughts expressed in this review are my own and no monetary compensation was received.
Myra Maxwell is discovered sobbing in a cemetery by her best friend and mother. She does not recognize either one of them, as she has entered into a fugue state. Joy and Zach are determined to help their friend, but she resists them. Only Weston Cline seems to be able to get through to her. While Weston helps Myra to start regaining some of her memories, Joy and Zach struggle to forgive Weston for the wrongs he did to them the year before. As Myra gains more and more of her memories, she feels something coming that she cannot stop, but is it the reason she lost her memory?
Join the adventure and dive into this book. Hannah Alexander does not disappoint with the second book in this series. She brings to life the characters and you feel the struggle as they walk through disappointments, anger, bitterness and forgiveness.
Absolutely LOVE THESE BOOKS written by a very cool husband and wife team! No, their names aren’t Hannah and Alexander! 😂😉 I loved reading about Zack and Joy, the physicians who met back in college! They went through pre med and med school and residencies, I’m assuming...; but here, they’ve been engaged well over a year. Joy’s BFF, Myra was found in very confused state by none other than Joy and her mom, Molly! Hold on tight, as you plunge up and down and around on this fabulous roller coaster of faith they’ve written! I urge you to buy several paperback copies to give to friends who feel like Weston, that he was too AWFUL for God to ever care about him... Now, we have to know if Myra and Weston grow together; who Laine meets; and could Molly be finding love, now that her baby is getting married!? I’m thinking so! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 God bless all! 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼
Hannah Alexander tackles the tough theme of forgiveness with honesty and encouragement in this latest novel. The story also touches on the theme of grieving as the characters come to terms with loss they have experienced in their lives. The second in a series, the story stands on its own, although readers who have read the first book will enjoy getting to know the characters better. Medical topics include fugue state and pharmaceutical interactions, as well as a bit on standard of care. Set at Christmas time, the story can be read and enjoyed any time of year. I enjoyed the way complex relationships were handled by the author.
Hannah Alexander did not disappoint in Book 2 of the Hallowed Halls series! The roller-coaster ride starts with a woman in the cemetery who obviously does not know why she is there or even who she is. It continues picking up various people from book 1 'Hallowed Halls'. As we learn who this woman is, we learn much about relationships, forgiveness, God's love and His sacrifice for us. Through many twists and turns, we begin to understand how the events in one's life affect who we become and how we relate to those around us. Our lives are much more of a testimony to who we are and what we believe than we think. Book 3 cannot come out soon enough!
Hannah Alexander gives a satisfying continuation of the characters from Hallowed Halls. We see resolution of Joy and Zack's story but a surprising element of Myra's and Weston's stories. It gives us some insight into what happens when we experience an unexpected event. Dandelion Moon is glimpse of healing and what expectations of people can do for us. Wonderful story, compelling characters and a great read. I had to finish it so I read through the night.
I received an ARC of the book but, I will buy copies when it comes out for friends.
This is the 2nd in the Hallowed Halls series. Can be read without reading the first one though. Myra loses her memory after getting a phone call with bad news. Weston is worried about her when she just takes off and he don't know where she is. This is a great story for Christmas and anytime, a story about healing and forgiveness. Also about how the Lord can really change a person. I received the book for a honest review. Definitely a good book.
These books may be a little predictable but I love the way the characters are developed. I feel like we really get to know them and watch the changes in their hearts. There's always a few twists that are unpredictable, and I like that the characters go through real struggles that I can relate to.
