One of my favorite tropes friends to lovers mixed with insta-love and you have a wonderful combination. Ella Goode did an excellent job with this storytelling. Excellent writing and a lot of story packed in just a few pages. Sexy quick read. Can’t wait to read her next book.

This was so cute, and all the ott stuff here was quite entertaining (and I mean not eye-rolling-entertaining but smile-inducing). the epilogue was how an epilogue should be done. lovely and left me satisfied with how it ended…

It's been awhile since I picked up an Ella Goode and I'm surprised by how good this one is.
To sum up, best friends who were both hiding their feelings ended up having sex when they have too much to drink one night. Fast forward weeks later, they both kept pining and she's knocked up.
It's super sweet and OTT. And if this is our first time meeting, that's totally my jam!

This had everything I needed. Friends to lovers and a secret pregnancy. Sunny and Mack are the ultimate besties but they have an issue they are both super in love with each other and they are afraid to admit it. We watch as they try to avoid their feelings but things are changing. Mack is obsessive, moody and Sunny is sick ??

I know you guys are gonna find this a dumb reason to give such a low rating… but I needed more steam 😭
The author skipped their WHOLE first time!! NOOO!
I was okay with it until they skipped another intimate scene. Nope.
Ella Goode is more of a YA romance author rather than adult romance. But I still thought the story was really sweet! And the Hero was super sweet to the heroine ❤️

Argumento:
Tengo un secreto. Estoy enamorado de mi mejor amiga, pero nunca se lo he dicho.
Compartir sentimientos está a la altura de las cosas terribles de todos los tiempos. En lugar de decirlo, le muestro cómo me siento todos los días.
Veo Big Brother con ella. Tenemos una noche de películas de terror. Le agarro el pelo cuando está vomitando. Eso es amor en mis libros.
Solo que… ella no ha sido la misma recientemente, y no sé cómo solucionarlo. Espero que sepa que haría cualquier cosa por ella.
Tengo un secreto. Estoy embarazada del bebé de mi mejor amigo.
Una noche de borrachera, un control de natalidad perdido y boom, es hora de tener bebés.
Estoy emocionada pero… Mack es lo mejor que me ha pasado.
Ha celebrado mis éxitos y me ha sostenido durante mis pruebas.
Su familia se ha convertido en mi familia.
Si soy honesta conmigo misma, he estado enamorada de él durante mucho tiempo. Pero si le digo que voy a tener su bebé, ¿arruinará todo?
Mi humilde opinión:
Nunca me pierdo un librito de Ella. En general quedo contenta con sus historias pero esta me duele decir que no me gustó nothing.
Mack y Sunny son mejores amigos que se conocen desde la escuela, desde los 15 años, desde entonces se vienen portando prácticamente como si fueran pareja. Es más, años después viven juntos y nunca han tenido pareja! Y lo que es más fuerte, se aman en secreto pero nunca se han dicho nada por miedo a perder la gran amistad. Ahí es donde a mí me pareció tonta toda la situación de la trama. Espero la exageración en este tipo de historias que son para pasar el rato y sentirse bien pero aquí no funcionó bien para mí. Me pareció tonto que dos personas adultas no fueran de frente con la verdad eventualmente, que se tardaran tanto tiempo en confesar ese profundo amor que se callaban. Era increíble y poco creíble que ninguno se delatara o se diera cuenta que las cosas que hacían juntos era más de lo que hacen los amigos! No sé, toda la situación me frustró junto con el embarazo secreto y la manera de actuar de Sunny y Mack. Mientras avanzaba leyendo no podía simpatizar con ninguno de los protagonistas quienes no podían ser más ingenuos o ciegos para el caso, tampoco me gustó lo que sucedía en la historia.
Y por Dios, la escena en que pierden la virginidad? Enserio?! WTF fue eso!
La lectura es rápida pero no estaba el encanto que suelo encontrar en las historias de esta autora y que me dejan sonriendo.

Not bad. There were lots of moments that were total swoon, but there were also some things that missed the mark. For example, I didn’t like that their first time was COMPLETELY SKIPPED OVER!! Especially since both were virgins, it would have made the story all the more intense and swoon to see their first time together. Instead it fades to black. That irked me.
While this didn’t bother me, there was a scene where the MCs are pushed by the hero’s parents to go on a “date” with others. Nothing happens and the parents did it deliberately to put a fire under them and prod them into jealousy so they could admit what they meant to one another. Mission accomplished.
Safe. Dual virgins, only ever with each other. One small scene where they go on a single date with someone else, however nothing physical occurs between the Other person and the MC. No cheating or abuse or any kind. HEA with epilogue

Sunny y Mack han sido mejores amigos desde el instituto. Ahora ambos son adultos con trabajo de adultos pero todavía son como niños en cuanto a cosas del corazón. Porque ambos están enamorados el uno del otro pero no se atreven a confesarlo. Pero cuando un pequeño "accidente" los empuje a algo más las palabras van a sobrar.
A ver es una historia cortita, super entretenida peeeeero y tengo un gran y gordo pero que va con SPOILERS así que si no quieres saber nada NO SIGAS LEYENDO ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
Me chirrió mucho el inicio del libro y tiene esta escena de cuando ellos se acuestan que no tiene sentido y al mismo tiempo quedó lo suficientemente ambigua para que de a pensar cosas muy malas. Porque a ver al final de ese primer capítulo Mack dice que se tropieza con sus pantalones y todo se vuelve negro. Así que yo pensé vaya por dios iban al tema y va el tío y se tropieza se cae y se desmaya ES LO QUE DA A ENTENDER. Pero entonces empieza el siguiente capítulo y Sunny dice casi textualmente: me desperté al día siguiente con sangre y semen entre mis piernas y no me acuerdo de nada. EXCUSE MEEEEEEEE!????? Osea mi reina primero pensamos que no pasó nada y después sueltas esa frase porque sí, sabíamos que ambos estabais borrachos porque lo contabais en el capítulo pero esa forma de expresarlo? Sabes a qué suena no? A vi*lacion pura y dura. Y esto a mí me dejó MUY MUY fastidiada para el resto de la lectura porque no podía sacármelo de la cabeza.

It wasn’t good. It was actually really stupid. I’m so disappointed! I love EG’s writing but lately so many of the stories have been this lame nonsense of grown people being so immature. And it’s NOT a secret baby. When did secret baby stories start to include when you are in the early stages of pregnancy and just found out but haven’t said anything yet??
A real secret baby is when you ACTIVELY don’t say anything for months if not years!! This ridiculous storyline of being anywhere from two to eight weeks pregnant and only JUST realized it and haven’t figured out what you are going to do yet does not a secret pregnancy make. Seriously, the FMC is still grasping or coming to terms with it herself. More often than not, including a baby daddy is the last step in that process, unless they are in a committed relationship. And the whole point of a secret baby troupe is because they are NOT in a committed relationship.
Anyway, this book had two individuals with careers’ established, well out of college, grown adults who were both still virgins pining for each other. On a drunken night they lose their ‘V’s’ to each other, but conveniently don’t remember it and then proceed to say nothing about it the entire book through. Blink, blink, blink…
It’s ridiculous.
The FMC eventually realizes she’s preggers but doesn’t do anything about that either. She isn’t thinking about how to tell the MMC or trying to hide it. She only cares about how their relationship will change but not in regards to being parents. She is solely concerned with the MMC finding someone else to love and marry. This book was so lacking in emotional depth and mental maturity I’m just astounded by it. EG has let me down.
If you want a silly underdeveloped pointless story with one barely naughty scene then this is for you. Good luck.

I love a good insta-love story and this one did not disappoint!
Best friends since middle or high school AND secretly in love with each other. His parents can clearly see it, but these two have no idea they are in love with each other. One drunkin night means a baby is on the way!!! Whoo hooo!!

The way he just ups and kinda low key makes her marry him and she resisting was cute as heeeellllllll! It made me giggly! So cute! I feel like lizzo 😂😂😂😂😏🤷

I really enjoy the “not so secret” baby trope so this was a nice read. TBH I am reviewing this a few weeks after reading so I’m not sure why I only gave it three stars… :). So, maybe I should stop writing now.

2,5 stars. The characters felt a bit over the top, especially the H with all his possessiveness. I love an alpha Hero but this one was just too much. Still it was a cute and fast read.
What I really liked about this book was the pregnancy trope and best friends to lovers trope. Another thing that I LOVED was that both the H and h were virgins and each other’s firsts which is sooo uncommon in books.

It was cute. There were two typos. One that was draws and it should have been drops. The other was where the male main character says he won’t stop until her name is Sunny Gibson and then a few paragraphs later, he says Mrs. Dunn. So is his last name Gibson or Dunn? No idea.
