"Part your thighs."
I obey, slide my legs apart, even as my core dampens further. What the hell is wrong with me? Why do I find his rough handling of me, the thought of him taking me right here in this church… Which is, technically, a blasphemy… Why do I find that so much of a turn on?
I sense him move a second before the blade nicks my skin. I whimper, feel the draft on my pussy lips and know he’s cut through my panties.
Silence descends and I can feel the blood pumping in my ears. My heart beat ratchets up further, even as a sinking sensation crowds in on my chest. My belly twists and more moisture slides down my inner thigh.
I hear the jingle of his belt, the rasp of his zipper being lowered, and all of my nerve endings seem to catch fire. I push up my butt, knowing he’ll spot the small movement…but I don’t care. I am horny for him. I want to feel his thick, fat cock inside me. I want him to take me, to fuck me, to prove to me that he is alive. To show me that I am still worthy of him. Bloody hell. I squeeze my eyes shut. Why am I so ready to degrade myself like this? I lower my chin… Wait… Wait as he grips my hip.
I sense him move closer, the heat of him enveloping me, holding me in a space where there is only me and him.
That cliffhanger! Just when the story was starting to pick up, it ended with a cliffhanger😧 I can't wait for the continuation of Michael and Karma's story. I actually thought it was going to be someone else who betrayed Michael, never expected it to be that person (not going to spoil it😜). I definitely couldn't put this book down, it was a roller coaster ride! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, just waiting for what would happen to Karma. These two are a treat to read.
And now we have to wait for the next book! Ahhh I can't wait!
Mafia Queen
Umm, what was that cliffhanger?! It was so unexpected that I don't know what to expect next. I can't wait for the finale of Michael and Karma's story but also didn't want it to end. These two continue challenging each other. Not going to lie, Mika is making me frustrated with how much he's still denying his feelings. I'm counting the days till he finally just says it to Karma. She deserves it for putting up for him.
Mafia War
What an amazing conclusion to Michael and Karma's story. Like the previous books, they held my attention and never let go. I finished reading it in just one sitting. I loved seeing all that they went through that made them stronger and developed themselves better. Especially for Michael, you'll see how far he has gone and changed into a family man. And express his love more freely now. You can't help but love him even more. This has been an amazing trilogy!
This is the Trilogy of Michael and Karma's story (Mafia King, Mafia Queen and Mafia War) no available in one fabulous set. The first book was excellent but this story improves with each subsequent book in the series.
First l have to say those who DNF'd the first book because of what they considered "cheating", did themselves a disservice and missed out on a great series. It's important to note that Karma is abducted by Michael and initially only a means to an end. Once they begin to develop a relationship there is no cheating. So Please....I highly recommend you buy this trilogy and give it another chance.
The first book really sets the stage, giving you background into this world, the family dynamics as well as how/why Karma is abducted. Through most of this book Karma is trying to escape. By the end of it, Karma has returned of her own free will, but she's still fighting any relationship. Book two brings them closer together but there are still challenges and uncertainty in their relationship while book three has them finally admitting their feelings and coming together.
But...this isn't all you get. Along the road to Michael and Karma's HEA, they deal with traitors and jealousy in the family. This story contains lots of action and violence which seems to increase with each book. While the last book is the most violent, it is also the most emotional.
I love a story that's so well told it makes you feel every emotion the characters are feeling. This trilogy does exactly that and you get to have it all in one fabulous set with this book. While I already own each book in the series (on my kindle) I have also purchase this print set for my physical library.
Mafia King is the 1st book in the Arranged Marriage series by L. Steele. This well written, page-turning, keep you on the edge of your seat dark mafia arranged marriage romance has plenty of unexpected twists, revenge, betrayal, sexual tension, and steam.
The second book in the Arranged Marriage series, Mafia Queen is a continuation of Michael and Karma's story and picks up where book one, Mafia King left off. This is a dark arranged marriage/age gap, mafia romance with plenty of action, mystery, suspense, lots of feels, betrayal, angst, family drama, twists and turns, strong characters, and plenty of heat.
The third book in the Arranged Marriage series by L. Steele, Mafia War will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. This well written mafia romance has a great storyline and is packed with betrayal, redemption, revenge, and so much more.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Mafia King – Book 1 A simply riveting read, Mafia Cruelty and control at its best A young woman that knows that she is under threat from her father’s creditors who will take her and redeem his cost by doing whatever he wishes with her once she’s under his control and he is a determined man. Michael had found Karma and being the Capo of his Clan, he captures his prize and surprises himself by not taking her life as he had initially intended. He decides to take her back to the secret sanctuary only known by his family. Karma is like no woman he has ever known she is not disgusted by his proclivities and she does not bend to his will she fights him at every turn and he has never known the like of her before. As he decides that she will become his wife as he has to marry before the age of 40 years if he is to keep his position as Capo. This is a wonderful read by the author L.Steele, she has brought together two dark souls and as they are drawn together, they fight hard to retain their independence without realising that their time together has already changed them both. There is a traitor in his midst and now the hunt is on for his “Beauty” and the man that has betrayed him in the worst way possible, “family is everything in the Mafia”. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. Mafia Queen – Book 2 This was another wonderful book in the series, loved every moment of this read Michael had not expected that his Karma would try to kill him and the actually try to run with one of his own family and he knew that there was no way she was going to get away with leaving him for dead after hitting him over the head with a boat oar.
Only she had come back to the family for the funeral but had got so much more that she could ever have expected, the truth was that she had actually fallen in love with this overbearing man that had originally taken her against her will and married her.
Then she had been kidnapped and Michael realised how much he cared for Karma and also his brothers obviously felt the same and he knew that he could not let her go, he had to keep her safe no matter what.
Then she has a surprise all of her own something that Michael had not seen coming and he had started to allow her more freedom, he had actually just started to allow her to learn to drive….
You will be left like myself waiting for the next book in this series to discover what the next chapter is for this couple and their extended family.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read Mafia War – Book 3 This is a simply wonderful read, great characters and story continued As the story started it was a dramatic opening as the car they had just about to have a driving lesson in had exploded and she had been ejected from the car via an ejector seat Mikka had had installed to match his own as well as additional shielding in case of explosions.
Unfortunately, Karma had been seriously injured and had also lost a most important part of herself that had left her husband Mikka feeling distraught as he had nearly lost his wife and had also lost his youngest brother Xander along with another family member and now he had to discover who had attempted to kill his own.
As Karma is recovering from her injuries, she is also trying to keep her husband together but it is no mean feat as he blames himself for anything that happens to his brothers or wife, they are all that he cares for and he knows there are any one of the five families that would like to get their hands on his position if given the chance.
Mikka is aware that his main achilleas heel is his wife especially as it has become obvious that he has fallen in love with her and this means that she is an easy target again for them to get him to neglect his own safety.
This is an action filled story with a great deal of soul searching and heartache and you are hoping that they can survive everything that is thrown at them, can they keep the family together and safe and strong.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
This is an amazing boxset as we get the first three books in the arranged marriage series and these books are full of love, passion, desire, revenge and drama. Michael and Karma certainly have a rocky relationship but through sheer perseverance they overcome all obstacles and are able to build a life together. Each book is unique to the characters and you will be drawn in to their lives and the drama that seems to follow the Sovrano family. Ms Steele certainly delivers some very dark books but I have loved reading each and every one.
Mafia King: This book was amazing. I loved Michael from Mafia Heir and in this book he is so intense and commanding with Karma, whom he has kidnapped as payback for a debt his father owes him. This book had a lot going on with lots of twists and turns and a cliffhanger ending that was surprising but at the same time I think if you read the first book you will know that things are not very idyllic in the family. I loved the interactions between Michael and Karma and also their desire for one another and the sex scenes were explosive. Highly recommend this book and series. Now to wait patiently for the next instalment and get all our answers to the questions that we asked at the end of this book.
Mafia Queen: This was a great read! I loved reading more about Karma and Michael and all of Michael’s brothers. This book truly had it all including some very fiery and passionate moments between Karma and Michael. There was lots of action so you don’t have an opportunity to get bored but with great characters the likelihood of that happening is non existent. Such an overwhelming roller coaster ride of emotions and wondering why Karma and Michael insist on trying to tear each other apart when in reality they both love each other and are just too stubborn to admit the truth. The ending was amazing and my heart was racing with each word and I felt like I was left stranded on a ledge.
Mafia War: Once again Ms Steele has given us an amazing read. I have loved this series and it has gone from strength to strength. The characters of Michael and Karma are both feisty and very determined but deep down they have a love for each other although they can be very stubborn at times and do silly things to hurt each other. This book shows us the real Michael and how much he truly loves Karma and the lengths he would go to in order to keep her safe. Some very passionate and emotional moments between Michael and Karma, and very raw at times makes you feel all the heartbreak and love. All the action, twists and turns will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. A must read series that I have enjoyed immensely and cannot wait to see what Ms Steele has in store in the future.
Highly recommend this boxset.
I received an arc copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Michael is going to kill Karma. He's decided to handle this job himself. That is until he finds her sitting on the ground at a park quoting Byron. He is quite taken with her, so after pointing a gun at her head and then firing it right next to her, he takes her captive. He'll decide what to do with her later. But what he decides does not make Karma happy. Now, Karma is what you'd call height challenged. However, this does not stop her sharp tongue or her stinging comments. No matter how big Michael is, she will never stop fighting him. Determination is her middle name. Well...not actually, but you get the idea of it. This series is phenomenal. I can't get enough of it. From the moment you open the book you will live and breathe every page. Putting this book down is almost painful. That is simply how exceptional this series is.
MAFIA QUEEN: What trauma awaits us after this?
So...the saga of Michael and Karma continues. This love/hate relationship will make your head spin and your toes curl. But, for two different reasons if you know what I mean. The dynamics between the characters is engrossing. I am simply addicted to this series, while salivating for the next book, especially with that cliffhanger this author sprung on us. I thought the cliffhanger at the end of Mafia King was a nail biter. But I must say, this ending surpasses that ten fold. This series...simply phenomenal, no ifs, ands or buts.
MAFIA WAR: A must read series.
The saga of Mika and Karma continues in yet another incredible book in this series. I have to say that part of this episode was just utterly heartbreaking. I didn't see that scenario coming. But, isn't that what makes L. Steele's books so addictive? The anticipation of what's coming? The unexpected? The steam? This author takes you into a world where the characters live hard and play hard. Where their word is law and non-followers be damned. But underneath this shady underworld that relishes in a gray area, there is a set of morals hiding in the shadows. There is a blinding strength, heat and chemistry this group of men apply to everything they do and everything they hold dear. Please start at the beginning of this series. I mean, why take a taste of your favorite dessert when you can have a full serving? And always remember, if you want to read a book that you can't put down, you have to pick it up first.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
Michael Byron Domenico Sovano. The Capo of Sicily's notorious Mafia company. My father owed him, so he took me to repay the debt. And married me to further his own ambitions. I hate him, I am determined to resist him. But what happens when I begin to fall for my new husband? A feisty fashion designer goes toe to toe with a brutal gangster in his marriage of convenience age gap, Mafia romance stand alone and teaches him the meaning of love. This is Michael and Karma's complete story.
I haven't read the Beauty and the Beast books before so I was super excited to read this book. It is a dark romance and a modern interpretation of a tale as old as time. It might contain triggers for some readers so you should heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. The complete boxset includes Mafia King, Mafia Queen and Mafia War. Michael and Karma don't exactly meet in the most old fashioned or even modern ways there are to meet. Michael is a capo for Sicily's notorious mafia company and unfortunately for Karma, her father owned him quiet a bit. He was tired of not getting paid and took Karma to repay the debt. However he just did not stop there. He married her with the intention of never caring about her but only to have a marriage of convenience and further his own ambitions. As you can imagine Karma is having none of this and if it is the last thing she ever does she is going to escape him and get her life back. However she never in a million years expected to feel anything ever for this man. This is a story that is a pretty epic story of love and how you think you don't need what you really needed after all. I loved these two. I loved watching them grow as individuals and as a couple. There are lots of things going on in this book that will keep you one the edge of your seat and guessing what is going to happen next. It is certainly a story that will have you reading well into the night. It is a story that you do not want to miss.
I really did want to like this but it was a battle to complete for me. I did some on audio and that was brutal. Voice actors were ridiculous. I don’t understand why you have a male and female voice actor but don’t let each say their part. Instead we are stuck with each mimicking the others awful voice 🤦🏼♀️. Very repetitive and say the same phrases over and over and over. “You have another think coming” and say it in almost each paragraph. Then have a female lead who is so juvenile she herself says she is goth but says OMG all the time. And not the phrase but letters. They refer to her as intelligent but she is shocked to learn her mafia husband is an international criminal! Ridiculous. They constantly leave one another and get back together and it is so trivial. I would NEVER recommend this unless you are extremely bored and need a laugh of how bad this is
This trilogy introduces the Sovrano Family and brings the first three books in the series together in one set. There is quite a bit going on initially as it establishes the wider family while also focusing on Michael Byron Domenico Sovrano (Mika) who is the Capo of his Family and Karma. We first meet Karma as a periphery character in her sister Summer and Sinclair's book and finally she has her own story. It would be useful to read The Big Bad Billionaires series as some of the stories are mentioned in this new series (which I didn’t and then just had to read this series too!). Be aware there are triggers in these books so read responsibly.
Mafia King Book One:
Karma’s father was involved in some very dodgy dealing and now Michael has come to collect. He takes Karma back to Sicily and ultimately forces her into marriage. Maybe at first he took Karma as retribution but ultimately he does develop feelings for her. Karma is quite young and can be bratty at times but she can definitely hold her own. Karma does have a life threatening health condition which she does keep to herself.
Both Michael and Karma are very strong characters and the chemistry between them is undeniable. The book does delve into quite dark themes but they do add to the storytelling and character development. Whilst it’s clear that Michael can be very ruthless and decisive when he wants to be he’s drawn to Karma in a way he’s never been before with anyone else. Michael and Karma definitely push each other to the limit but always go back for more. I also enjoyed the relationship Michael has with his brothers but it’ll definitely be interesting to see how things pan out with Luca but to be clear he isn’t the only problem within the Family
There are lots of twists and turns and it was quite a thrilling read. This book sets up a lot of threads for the next books and ends on a cliffhanger but as it’s part of the box set the good thing is you can jump straight into the next book.
Mafia Queen Book Two:
This story picks up straight up where book one left off with Karma finally free of Michael but she’s not really. She’s not ready to say goodbye and to find out that the whack to Michael’s head may be a bit more permanent than she intended well it’s time to face the music and the Family. And what a fright she had at the ‘funeral’, ultimately Michael and Karma can’t keep away from each other despite the start they had and could not let each other go. Karma was Michael’s be all and end all and despite an unconventional start her safety and well-being are everything to him and consequently his brothers. I enjoyed how Karma developed a relationship with the brothers given how she and Michael have been known to get a little bit violent with each other!
All goes well until Karma decides that she wants more freedom and lean how to drive….wow what a cliffhanger.
Mafia War Book Three:
Well that was both an explosive and heartbreaking start, the book started quite literally with a bang and the action did not let up. Unfortunately Karma was badly injured which had a devastating and long reaching affect on both Michael and Karma as well as the rest of the family. Who is out to kill them and who can they trust given the body blow the brothers have received. Michael is vulnerable now because of his feelings for Karma while also coming to terms with his losses. But all the brothers can do is dig in and prove to those that are out to get them not to underestimate the Sovrano Family even if one of those enemies is close to home,
Wow this book is one emotional read it was fast paced, well written and a fantastic conclusion to the trilogy. It ties up loose ends but also sets the scene for the rest of the series.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy and thoroughly enjoyed these books. The characters are well written and the books draw you in until your immersed in all things Sovrano and all you can do is go for it and read all the books in the series!
* Thank you to Social Butterfly PR and the author for giving me an arc of this book. *
I’m reading this series backwards so I’ve read the last 3 books and now I’m reading the rest and I must say that in the last book of the series I was worried with Michael and Karma’s relationship cause Karma is making a questionable move since Serb’s book. With that said, I have been liking a lot when they appear in the other books and that’s why I’m reading their story now.
Part one was very enjoyable although I was on the fence about Michael cause he had his moments but he also made/ said a lot of questionable things. Obviously we only get a bit of pieces of information of him so I’m definitely intrigued in how this whole relationship is gonna work out. Karma is funny as her sister Summer was to me because of the whole filme quotes and stuff and I liked that. She’s also very headstrong as Michael is so they tongue lash each other every time. She’s also very fiery and that almost never works for her cause their chemistry is definitely there working overtime. I’m still not really sold on what’s happening but the way this ended got me excited for more and thank god the next book is available now.
Part two- Michael is changing little by little. I wasn’t expecting this elaborate plan that he orchestrated but I also knew he was out there ready to pounce. I didn’t believe Luca and already read his book but this situation he’s in is still giving me anxiety. Michael is very alpha in this one and that really shows through the story. That’s to say that I love an alpha but to me he sometimes can be over the top but all of his possessive has a reason so I get it but I’m also like “get your act together and act a bit normal” but alas, what can I do? I’m still buying into all of his feelings and I’m loving him so there’s that. Karma on the other hand I’m not really sure what to feel about her at the moment. She has every right to be mad about certain things but she can also get on my nerves with her stubbornness and her unwillingness to accept her feelings and what Michael wants to give her. Now granted, Michael doesn’t even know to express feelings and whenever he tries, I just wanna smack my head cause it’s that painful but I’m confident they will get better at communicating. I already saw improvement but more on a superficial level so I’m very intrigued to what’s next and how they finally cement their relationship. The damn cliffhanger tho? I honestly pity the readers that had to wait for the third book in this series. It must’ve been painful and I’m over the moon with the fact that I’m reading it now that they’re out and I can binge them.
Part three- this was a good conclusion of the trilogy. The damn cat, Andy, is so adorable. He’s my favorite 🙈 I hoped that Karma wouldn’t leave every single time but it’s also understandable why she did it, I’m just not a fan of how she dealt with all of it plus her secret is getting out of hand to the point where I think it’s gonna push her and Mika more together or break their marriage when it finally comes out. Again it’s sort of understandable why she won’t tell Michael because she wants to give him everything but the core of the matter is not really that isn’t it? It felt like this is not over by any means and it’s gonna cause issues perhaps even affecting the Sovrano family. I do feel like Michael grew up a bit more throughout the books and we also see a change in Karma in how she is sure she can be the wife of the Don which she has to and I appreciated that side of her but ultimately they not my favorite of the series. With that said I’m excited for the next one.
An exciting story packed with action, strong Mafia and powerful characters and lot of conflicting emotions. For the lucky ones who won't have to despair waiting for the next book, here we have all three books together for hours of excitement and tension with Michael and Karma. In Mafia King Karma is kidnapped and it is amazing how Karma is coping with her situation with Michael. An intense and smart woman driven by a passion she had been hiding. Michael was ruthless, dominant, and centered in his way to become Dom but also, he had an inner struggling. He was intended to keep under control his intense desires toward the woman, but that was a challenge in itself. She was his match, that he knew, and she was feeding his dark desires and showing hers. Exciting and intense the tension between the protagonists, interesting how Michael keeps the power within his family and how Karma visualizes her needs. Mafia Queen, now Karma Sovrano, has an outburst, and she knew she would have to pay and big. But somehow, she knew that she would embrace her punishment. The strong and powerful Mafia Capo had tight control of his emotions and everyone around him or so was before Karma happened. What a feisty, decided, and passionate woman! Karma and Michael were struggling with their feelings and desires for each other and in the meanwhile, enemies were ready to pounce. Mafia War was full of surprises, and we did not lack villains! I was amazed at the dynamics that unfolded and how the pieces fell into place. Action and more action! I love when things get ugly, and someone pulls a card out of their sleeve! The stories kept me alert to every detail with its interesting dialogues and a suspense that had me reading wide-eyed because I didn't want to miss anything that was going on. Lots of unbridled and heated passion, family drama, strong emotions, betrayal, action, suspense and violence. Enjoyed the strong characters, the issues they had to deal with and the interesting plot development
I just love getting my hands on box sets where I don’t have to crave for the next book and the next book just to get to my beloved HEA and Beauty and The Beast just fed my beast (I know, lame joke…) Firstly, it is a trilogy where in each book, we get a different stage of Karma and Michael’s intense relationship which starts off with Michael’s kidnapping of Karma for revenge, and then continues with how their relationship evolves into something they can’t walk away from. Their journey has all the ingredients to create a marvelous romantic suspense with enemies to lovers trope to captivity to incredulous angst and unstoppable chemistry. The plot line also fulfill the suspense part with traitors and unexpected backstabbing with lots of guessing games. I have loved Beauty and The Beast Boxset, and hope you’ll love it too.
Arc review For honest Review . wow fantastic 10 stars this story has you turning pages as it takes you on a roller coaster ride between karma and her husband Michael savrano the capo of the casa nostra with action and so much more .these three stories are worth reading. Enjoy
Damn tiktok again. I downloaded this as it is the type of book I love. But in the first few chapters he gets a BJ from another woman in front of the h that she started in the first place but told her he wanted a real woman, then they have dinner an brings out the chief she gets her naked an he makes the h lick his fingers after been in the other woman. Just no, no thanks I'm out fuck
Predictable read. No character development. It was lame. I don't understand how this book was published considering how juvenile it reads. Don't waste your time with the back and forth of what siblings do. Seriously, how did people enjoy this book?
Blah. Not much cup of tea. Usually like alphahole male leads but this guy takes it to the next level. Did not finish and will not read any other of this author's books.
Wow, hot hot hot this story was amazing. I love L. Steele and everything she writes, I’ve never been disappointed. This was a three book series that I listened to as well as read, and it took me a while to get through it, but I finally did. It started out pretty dark, and possessive. I love an alpha hole who takes control and never lets anyone get in his way, including the heroine. It started one way, and stayed that way, mostly through the whole three book series. Toward the end, however, we started to see our h come into her own and show her own strength. Karma was a good mix of dark and light softness and steel. Which takes us to our hero, Michael. He was an Italian capo on his way to being Don who felt nothing for anyone and wanted no emotional ties to interrupt his Reign. The level of spice in the story was off the charts. I found myself fanning myself while reading my Kindle many times throughout the three books. There was a TON of smüt throughout these books, and I was here for every second of it! It took me a while to really get into the groove of one of the narrators, Roxy Isles, as Karma had an English accent which threw me off, but eventually I got with the program as she was from England, so this explains why she had the accent. I have and will always love Jason Clarke. I can listen to him read a grocery receipt list and be happy. He’s especially my favorite in hockey romances, but this was nice having him in a mafia book as well. All in all, I really liked this three book series, even though it took me a while to get through. I was reading a lot of different books at the same time so this kinda got put on the back burner, but I’m really glad that I finally got back to it as I loved it. I can’t wait for the other brothers books.
Beauty and the Beast is the full three book story of the “Dark Mafia” series!!!
First, is Mafia King, which was almost too much to handle!!!! Reading this story was a rollercoaster of emotions, feelings, betrayal, and a shocking conclusion!!! It is the story of Michael and Karma (Beauty). She is forced to pay her father’s debt to to Michael. Michael is a ruthless, emotionless Capo. But, things don’t go quite as he planned….and that’s only the beginning!!! Nonstop action and suspense. I LOVED Karma!!!! Strong, fearless, afraid of nothing….and she has her own issues to deal with….one of which is Michael…Ends in a MAJOR cliffhanger!!
Next, there’s Mafia Queen, the freaking amazing, continuing story of Michael and Karma. Now married, she’s trying to get used to her new life….a veritable prisoner in her new home. Then, when shocking, potentially deadly truths come to light, things become even more dangerous. Whew!!! This story just gets better and better!!! I’m totally sucked into it….and can’t wait to see what happens next!!!! Ends in a MAJOR cliffhanger!!!!! ASTOUNDING, AMAZING READ!!!!!
Finally, we have Mafia War, the final leg in the story of Michael and Karma. Things ramp up with the Capo’s adversaries….and there are threats….danger…and shocking revelations that come into play in this saga!!! Absolutely unputdownable….full of action, danger, and romance!!! FABULOUS conclusion to this wonderful couple’s story!!!
I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Mafia King Finally we get a Mafia connection to The Seven. Karma is a younger sibling to Summer and. she's been eluded to in all the books. Michael has come to collect on a debt and and that is Karma. She wants to hate him, but she finds can't. It's a fast paced book with lots of new characters. (brothers o f Michael), and I can't wait to learn more about them. Bend. Break. Open. Loved the shopping day, loved the knife, loved the special day excitement. Totally surprised with the very end. It's definitely not over and I absolutely cannot wait to read the next chapter.
Mafia Queen This chapter continues where it left off, with a cliffhanger, there is betrayal on two levels, fake deaths, and negotiations to be completed. Karma and Michael, two tortured souls who are proud and won't give away their feelings to the other. Lots of intensity, hot scenes and comic relief from Michael's brothers. Had me on the edge of my seat for sure. Can wait for the conclusion.
Mafia War WOW, this third and final installment in this trilogy is spectacular. Edge of your seat on every single page. So much happens in this book, Michael and Karma, the supporting cast of characters, wow, just wow. "Magnificent woman", Michael's description of his wife at the worst time in her life. Cried, laughed, held my breath, sighed in relief, all emotions that I went through reading this book. You have to read this trilogy, you just have to!
This is the three books of Michael’s and Karma’s story.
It starts with MAFIA KING: A smoking hot Mafia Capo, Michael. And a smart, sassy young woman, Karma, with a dark side of her own. He is supposed to kill her. Instead he kidnaps her. He thought his research told him everything about her. But boy does he find out how little he does know. And she knows he underestimates her. She tries to resist him. But his darkness pulls on her own. Will he get her to submit? Follow his rules? Cooperate with his plans? Well yes and no.
Then there is MAFIA QUEEN: This is about Karma facing her inner darkness and finding her truth. That she loves Michael. It has it all. Dark mafia action. Angsty troubled hero and heroine. Can Michael forgive her for what she does? Can she really come to accept herself?
That brings us to MAFIA WAR: Michael and Karma keep pushing each other away. And then she get kidnapped again. But in the gunfight for their lives all secrets are revealed. This story has it all gun play, kidnapping, health risks, heart ache, betrayal and commitment. Above all there is love. And a cat that steals the show.
This is a great way to read their story. No waiting for the next book. Laxmi Steele has outdone herself with this series. I love how this world expands and loops back to keep you guessing.
Mafia King Oh my stars!!! Michael and Karma are just bursting with sexual tension. Michael is trying so hard to fight his attraction to Karma. He swears he is only keeping her until he Marries her and then he will use her to get what he needs, but he didn’t realise how his attraction would affect how he treated Karma. Karma is determined that she has to get away.
Mafia Queen I can’t believe the emotional roller coaster I was on in reading this book. Not only does Karma run away, but she believes that Michael has died. Imagine her surprise when he is still alive. Wow, Michael and Karma certainly know how to rub against each other and create small fires every single time. Not only that, but Karma finds out she is pregnant with his baby. Just as things are starting to go well, something happens.
Mafia War With the death of Xander and Karma and Michaels baby, the family is falling apart. Tensions and tempers are high, hearts are hurting and Michael is doing what he does best, pushing Karma away. Who is responsible for the explosion and what are they going to do about it all. So much drama and suspense. You don’t want to miss this book. All is not what it seems. Of course there is a cliffhanger to look forward to.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review with my honest and fair opinion.
Beauty and the Beast the 3 book box set of the Dark Mafia Series
Book 1 Mafia King It is the story of Michael and Karma (Beauty). Michael is the ruthless and dangerous Capo who kidnaps Karma in return for a debt her father owed him. Originally he planned to kill her but he found himself uncharacteristically attracted to her, he decides to bring her to the family hideout island instead. Karma’s character was strong, fearless, she wasn’t going to be a victim, even when Michael threatened her with violence she stood up to him! The biggest problem they both had was the sexual chemistry between them! Non stop action, drama, suspense, sexual tension, steamy scenes and the book ends in a MAJOR cliffhanger!!
Book 2 is Mafia Queen, The amazing continuing story of Michael and Karma. Now married Karma is as a veritable prisoner in her new home, trying to settle into her new life. Shocking things come to light making things even more dangerous This book also ends in a MAJOR Cliffhanger!!
Book 3 is Mafia War This is the final story of Michael and Karma. Things build with Capo’s adversaries and there are threats, dangers and shocking revelations. This book is .full of action, danger and romance and this story finishes on a happy note for our featured couple. I received an free copy of this box set through BookFunnel and I am giving this review voluntarily
It's been a while since I listened to a dark romance book and I almost gave up on this boxset a few chapters in... but I am so glad I stuck with it. I am also glad it was a boxset because the first two books end in cliffhangers, which put books on my NO list. It is intense and dark, I could have done without some of it, that is my personal taste though, but I know the story would have not been complete. There is suspense, intrigue, drama, romance, also hawt scenes. The more the story went on, as the layers of both main characters were peeled away, it showed there was more to them. Their passion is combustible, their darkness matching. Karma and Mica's road to HEA is really rocky, intense, with twists I didn't see coming, but they do get there after they both realize their feelings for each other will only make them stronger. A definite emotional rollercoaster. Great secondary characters that gave the story depth, some I loved and a few I hated.
Jason Clarke is on my 'eargasm' list and he does a sexy Italian accent, loved that the author added some Italian words. It is my first time listening to Roxy Isles, and her voice is perfect to give life to Karma, with sweetness and sass. I will be looking for more.
A terrific story which kept me interested from beginning to end. There is love, violence, sex and a lot of action. There are mysteries to be resolved and deeply emotional issues that have to be dealt with. The story is divided into 3 books – Mafia King – Mafia Queen – and Mafia War – but I read it as one story, with each of the first two ending with a cliff-hanger, but I immediately continued reading so it was one continuous story to me. Michael is a Capo in a Mafia family, and he kidnaps Karma to settle an old debt of her father. Lust for each other develops quickly, and their lust for each other is an important part of their story, and ultimately leads to love. They marry early in the story – although it is not for love, but convenience – and there are many problems as enemies try to get at Michael by kidnapping or hurting Karma or others in his family. Michael and Karma were strong and interesting characters, as were the others in the story, and it kept me interested from beginning to end. I received a free copy of this book via Book Funnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a super exciting boxset full of action, hit emotions, passion crazy family drama, secrets, betrayals and jammed packed with suspense you can't go wrong with. Hold on tight for an exciting ride with these two hot characters. These three books Mafia King, Mafia Queen and Mafia wars bring us the story of Michael and Karma. These two are a match totally made for each other but they have to come to terms with how they are feeling and how there relationship begins. Michael is all alpha male, dominant and set in his ways and when he kidnaps Karma he didn't know what was in store for him. These two are like lighting a match to gasoline they become combustible. Karma is intense, smart and sensible. We see so many emotions as these two move through their feelings. They each have intense feelings for each other that they are trying to keep under wraps as well as they have a dark side that they each feed off of. As the series continues we finally get to see secrets come out and pieces finally fitting together and once they come to terms with there feelings these two become a power couple that could be unstoppable. You will totally fall for Karma and Michael and devour these books. I was given this boxset as an ARC for my honest review.
Michael and Karma’s story is epic. I loved every word of it. Michael Sovrano is the capo of the mafia he and his brothers run a tight organization. Michael is the perfect beast with a side of gentleness. Karma is collateral damage her father owes so Michael takes her when he finds her alone on a hill quoting one of her favorite authors. Karma is a beauty with a side of steel. Michael and Karma are at odds with each other. He wants to own her and she wants to be free. He’s the man she loves to hate and hates to love. There are twists and turns, family drama, sabotage, and lots of intense drama to hold your interest through all three of their books, each book more compelling than the last. I loved this series and Michael and Karma. They are recurring characters in following books about the Sovrano family. If you enjoyed this set as much as I did, you’ll enjoy every book that follows. I know I’ve devoured each one as they’re released and hope there are many more.
A random meeting in the park, that was anything but random, brought Michael Byron Domenico Sovrano and Karma together. He is the capo to his father's don, and Michael is setting himself up to become don upon his father's death. Karma West is the sister of Summer Sterling, wife of Sinner, one of the Seven wealthiest men in the world. He plans to consolidate power between the Sovrano family and the Seven and, when he accomplishes that, he will let her go. But things aren't going to be that easy because Karma proves to be sassy, stimulating and powerful in her own right. When these two come together, there is nothing to prepare them for the passion of all sorts that waits for them. But Michael is also ruthless and will do anything to show who has the power. He has a side that gave me pause and caused me to cringe at what he was capable of doing to hurt Karma. This is a remarkable box set and Michael and Karma's story is one of the best!
Mafia King 4⭐ Michael was suppose to kill Karma but her dark soul called to his own. An arranged marriage of darkness that neither can get enough of. Evil is lurking in the shadows ready to destroy everything and everyone in its path.
Mafia Queen 4⭐ What an explosive cliffy! Jaw dropping! Thankfully Michael is alive but being double betrayed cuts deep. Karma is still going through her fight or flight mode. Understandable since she is so young. With good news on the front things are changing between Michael and Karma. A war is brewing on the horizon.
Mafia War 4⭐ Three tragic events hits Michael all at once. Only one survived. Karma is devastated over the last of her loved ones. The demons that wreak havoc in Michael's life makes him do stupid things. He tells himself it's to protect Karma. Evil lurks in the shadows with his minions waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike putting Karma and the Sovrano brothers lives on the line.
This was an interesting book, that gave you a clear case of Stockholm Syndrome or my understanding of it. When Michael F-cks his V-card victim, Karma into submission, that would do it. I believe the proper name is r-pe. Even if they are of age when you kidnapped them, and you make them believe they gave their consent, it's still r-pe. The operative word is “kidnapped.” However, Karma was already cynical due to being raised, along with her sister Summer, in the foster care system. And had a very dark side to her, however, still a V-card member.
No matter how dark, she has enough of her older sister's light in her, carrying this bright light of goodness within that she allows her rebellious creative outer side to show to the family. To make it through, but it's that inner light that changes the toughest of the Sovrano men, except for The Don, Michael’s father. But, in the end, The Don was rewarded for his efforts in the proper, glorious way.
