Nope, this book (books) did not work for me. Some of the metaphors are easy for the young reader (and me) to get. Sure, the moon is a pail of milk and the sun is an egg yolk, but the sun is a bee sting? An open book? Time?!? Way too deep for me and I'm guessing almost all picture book readers. I did love the illustration of the moon being a tunnel through the dark night as it lit up a large swath of light on a bedroom floor!

How marvelous to combine the complementary books into a 'flippable' omnibus. I love that each ends with an invitation to the reader to come up with more metaphors.
