So, I am back visiting in Navesink Bank Universe, and that means we are back with the Next Generation…… This is going to be a bumpy ride due to the fact that the two main characters know each other from growing up together.

Lil bit of history lesson on the two main characters.

Now don’t get me wrong here Valen’s parents have interesting pass, like how Valen’s is father is OG Henchmen (Adler), let’s just say that Adler joined the Henchmen to slow his life down bit…. Which we all know that the Henchmen’s life is never at slow pace, there’s always some type of war or death or destruction Lingering in the background.

But wow Louana’s parents are Nothing to sneeze about. Evangeline, she was a specialist in poisons and Luce…. He was the judge, jury, & executioner, in plain English, he was a vigilante serial killer
,
With the history lesson Of the parents, you get somewhat of a general idea of Valen and Louana’s Upbringing.
<

Once Upon a time. Valen and Louana had a magical. teenage romance. Until one day Valen just up and disappears with no explanation, He packed a bag and he took off on his bike. He said he wants to travel. He said he doesn’t know when he’s coming back. If he’s is ever coming back
Breaking Louana's heart into pieces in shattering her life forever.

Now, Fast forward few years later, Valen has been back for hot second in Navesink Bank living and working in the Henchmen
compound as a prospect.

Louana/ Lulu went on almost never-ending trip backpacking across Europe, searching for something—or some part of herself—though ultimately not quite finding what she was looking for. Only going back to Navesink Bank a week or two, at a time….. never staying long

Louana/ Lulu had enough, and headed back to Navesink Bank figure out her life…. Within days of returning, she figures that she was going to turn her newfound confidence. into some kind of Revenge on Valen
Yeah, after all these years she still holds a grudge against him. Oops, Did I say grudge? I meant feelings. You tell me, If the lines are not blurred in between love and hate in this book.

I could see how many future upcoming books in this particular Novel. So I’m definitely looking forward to all the future books. I think this is going to be a crazier ride than the original Henchmen

Oh, before I forget. I wanted to mention, the fact that Fallon had that sick sense of Humor like his father (Reign)

The daughter of Luce and Ev and the son of Adler and Lou.

Valen and Louana had an all consuming teenage romance. Until Valen just disappears with no explaination breaking Louana's heart.

Many years later they both end up returning back to Navesink Bank and Lou has revenge on her mind. Now with Luce as her father your probally thinking that revenge is going to be deadly and include of tub of lye but she is just looking for some emotional payback and joins the Henchman as a prospect to mess with him.

What neither Valen nor Louana expected was that their connection was as strong as ever.

Loving these stories about the second generation. Even though they all have their own personalities they each have traits from their parents which makes things humorous at times. I am always gung ho to start these books and fly through them at record speed needing the story. Humor, suspense and tons of characters you love...

I’m a big fan of Jessica Gadziala, so I was disappointed with how rushed and unfinished this book felt. I’ve even struggled with this review because I feel almost guilty for having this reaction to the story.

MY REVIEW CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS AND/OR OPINIONS THAT MIGHT PROVIDE TOO MUCH INFORMATION. STOP READING NOW IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE THEM.

Valen and Louana were cute enough, but by the end of the story I didn’t feel as if I had gotten to know the couple at all. Much of their story centers around Louana’s desire to hurt Valen for leaving her. I get it and I would have been upset too. However, I wanted to read about the couple and their relationship when they were younger. Maybe a couple of flashbacks or some chapters from back before Valen left. It was hard to picture them in love and understand their current pain without having seen them happy and together in the past. I felt more of a connection between Valen and his friendship with Voss, than I did with his relationship with Louana.

We are told a little bit about what Louana did while she was gone; however, we’re only given vague and almost nonexistent details about Valen’s time traveling. The conflict at the end happened over just a few pages and was sadly anticlimactic. The whole event was over before it even began. JG usually provides more descriptions and details which enables me to feel as though I am there experiencing the action with the characters. These missing details caused a disconnect and left the story feeling unfinished.

Although I am enjoying these new stories about the kids, I hope we’ll still get the remaining stories from some of the older characters. I’d love to get Atlas’ story from the Rivers Brothers series, and there are also still several characters from the Professionals series whose stories have not been told. What about Astrid who was Liv’s and Cam’s roommate?

JG is a great storyteller and remains one of my favorite authors. I’m looking forward to seeing what she gives us next.

The 6th book in the series is a whirlwind of unpredictable events and action-packed excitement.

Valen's and Lulu's story, is a beautiful, emotional, exciting and unique love story .

Their life in Navesink Bank was tight bonded to the "family" and in some way dictated by their parents and their criminal activities.
His by The Henchmen MC legacy and hers by the unique "professional double life" of her father's.

Valen's spontaneous decision to leave the town was followed by long years of traveling the world in search of their own identity and experience the world outside of Navesink Bank.

That change them in many ways.
What never changed were their regrets.

This is a beautiful lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romance.
It's an emotional rollercoaster of emotions and heartbreaking feelings.

I love the characters. They are authentic and flawed, perfect for each other.
They struggle with past and their memories both in their own way, but the real struggle is to find the way to each other again.

Definitely a must-read page-turner for all MC romance lovers.

Valen is the sixth book in the Henchmen MC: Next Generation series by Jessica Gadziala. I didn't realise I was waiting for this book until I started reading it. After a few weeks of a book slump this got me going again. I couldn't put it down.

Valen disappears from Louana's life with no word of why and breaks her heart. She decides to travel the world and get into her fathers line of work. Something that makes her stronger and more feared then most woman her age. When she returns to Navesbank Valen is the last person she wants to see. But it turns out faith has other ideas.

The end did feel a little rushed but it didn't take from the book too much. It was jammed packed and I loved these two together.

Valen and Luana are one of those couples that just fit together. His ying and her yang. I understand his reason for leaving but also understand her devastation and then anger. How they made it back together is epic with her saving him. This was great book to sit back, relax and read on a overly hot as hell day.

I enjoyed this one I mean it’s the Henchmen right?
It’s not my favourite in that I didn’t connect with these two like I usually do. But it’s still a good read and it’s great to catch-up with the other guys.

This was a different type of Henchmen read - usually, the women bring trouble to the club, but this time, it was one of the bikers who had to be rescued in Henchmen style. Not usually a fan of second-chance romances but it worked in this book.

On to the next Jessica Gadziala read!

When Valen takes off on Louana without even a phone call, she can’t believe it. And when she finally does come to the realization that he just left her, it changes her perspective on people – and love. Now, after spending years in Europe doing things that, frankly, no nice human is supposed to do, she’s back in Navesink Bank. And prospecting for the Henchmen! OMG, how awesome is this story?!?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Henchmen second generation bunch!

Personally I like romance after the MC’s have lived a little. I didn’t feel the angst of their younger love so didn’t feel this kick of her need for revenge or his reluctance to have her back in his life. Actually I’m not sure it was reluctance he seemed into her. I just didn’t get that ride or die from him toward her. Even when she is shot he is the only one she allowed to see the wound. This is their romance rekindling? I just didn’t feel it. I felt more for the next gen girl squad who are all out doing amazing things like gambling with high rollers, picking up skips etc. badass girls who don’t need to have regrets of childhood romance.

We are told by her, her mum and other comments just how bad it got for her when he left. Told. I didn’t get any feels from this so don’t see why she would want to even reconnect on that level for high energy revenge let alone spark into the romance again. I would have liked to see her fall into something else with one of the other guys and he feels the revenge that way? He works for it. He only had to exist. The whole backstory of his? Didn’t get that either. How could it not have been indoctrinated into this generation the idea of blowback?🙃

This one had some issues for me. There were lots of typos in it and it seemed a little rushed, certain things just didn’t quite ring true to the universe or how the club works.
Also her name is nearly the same as his mom’s so that was a little odd.

I didn’t really get all the drama around them both leaving town when they broke up. I was expecting something much deeper or darker than “sorry I needed to sow my wild oats”.
Also not leaning on his family, friends, and club when he was in a bad situation didn’t sit well with me, that’s not what the majority of people in this town and universe are about.

I did like that Lou was pretty bad ass, would have been nice if she didn’t give in just because of some magical though.

I do recommend reading her parents’ book before this one if you’ve not read it.

Valen & Louana

Wild ride, these two, I tell ya!

Valen was an idiot when he & Lu were younger, got spooked by the depth of emotion they had for each other, & bounced. Tho he was probably right that they needed the time apart to grow into themselves, the way he did it broke Lu's heart so much that she also bounced.

They both come back to their hometown - and their families' MC - needing to make up for and right some wrongs. I LOVED Lu's plan for messing with Valen, and also how it ended up working out. Highly enjoyable story line!

We get to see more Voss, more Dezi (I want MORE Dezi!), and meet Nave. The supporting cast of family & MC was fun, and the suspense/drama was gritty & paced well

Great read!!

Valen

You know that feeling after you've been gone a long time and you finally come home? That's what it feels like every time I read a second gen book. It's so comforting to come back to Navesink Bank and revisit all of the characters I love.

We already had hints about something that went down between Valen, Louana, and a Mallick and I was so excited to finally find out what it was. Plus, I've really missed Luce and needed some good Lye threats in my life.

Of course we could never go very long in NB without someone's past catching up to them. Luckily for Valen, Lulu wanted her payback and was in with the club to be able to track him down.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of coming back to this world. Getting a few short interactions with Jace only made me miss the Mallicks hard. I hope we get a second gen Mallick soon.

Louana is my hero!

Book 6 in the next gen Henchmen series - in the previous book in the series we get a little bit of background on Valen and Louana. This book starts with Louana arriving back to Navesink Bank and having a diabolical plan.
Valen is gobsmacked to see Lou and horrified to have to see her all the time. He knows he was wrong.

The interactions between the main characters and the supporting cast are what makes Jessica's books stand out from the rest. I thoroughly enjoyed Lou and Valens story, but adding in Desi, Voss and the other henchmen along with the next gen girls club, made it next level awsome for me.

Favourite line by far is Louana's to Lo - “I am about to do something that is, objectively, supremely stupid and maybe a little bit vengeful,” I admitted.

Thanks again for a great escape Jessica.

Another 5* Read

I loved the story of Valen and Lulu. Although sometimes I can't remember who their parents are. So it was awesome to be back with The Henchman MC next generation. And how brilliant was it that it's not always the scary bikers that save the day.

Role reversal at its finest

Who needs a man to save the women, not Louana. She is the daughter of a vigilante with a fondness for lye and a poisons expert, I expected nothing less of her. Valen and Louana had a tough past but were always meant to be. The reunion isn't easy but after both living lives traveling it was time to come home and face what they have been running from.
The story is amazing!

(3.5) To be honest, this wasn't one of my favorites by this author. It was written well and I still enjoyed it, but for some reason I didn't fall for Valen and/or the adventure the story usually brings. I normally have a lot of feelings going on throughout this author's books that I just didn't feel in this one.

Wow, really didn't like Valen.

**spoiler alert**

Really not a fan of Valen or his character at all. He uses the excuse that they were just "too into each other" when they were kids and that their brief time together was too toxic so that's his excuse for bailing? I found them getting back together over the course of this book more toxic than anything. He never once actually apologizes for any of the the damage his selfish and cowardly actions caused. What he does do is spout a lot of weak excuses and emotional manipulation. All of his actions over the course of the book just prove he hasn't grown up at all and he's just as cowardly and pathetic as he was when he bailed the first time.

I mean by his own admissions; he never came back for her or even planned out an apology for if they crossed paths. He even planned to eventually find and settle down with a "second best" woman. 🙄 Always the easiest or best for him path with this guy. Until he found out he could have his cake and eat it too by playing off the the emotions of the woman who always loved him. Louanas character was awesome but I lost a bit of respect for her by the end of this when he was allowed to just slip right back in.

Sidenote: Can't wait for Voss's book! Now that man is rock solid.

So my general thought are.. Lulu was more henchman than valen.. He was more of a regular guy who was young and still clueless.. Somehow i didn't catch their age.. He was 18 when he left now he is what.. He sound and act like 23 to me.. Still young and clueless (which is weird since he was raised as part of the group, so why the insecurity and not asking for help even from his dad). Lulu was more true to herself and i wanted her to save the day (not voss) although i am grateful that at least she was about to save herself (although the final blow was from valen, which could be more realistic yet looked like henchmen bias from author). Any way looking forward and can't wait for all the girls and boys stories (i also which some of the girls gets with the boys like hope and Denz may be or voss, or vi and voss just to have valen's involved and the broromance part again which i liked from voss side)
Side note, Fallon to me is undermined as a boss from all the secretive passes from the other members which wasn't the case from Reign, so i am wondering when will the author move him from young & pain in x to a stand up guy who is a leader rather than inherited his title.

I, of course, really liked this one. I don't think Gadziala could write something I don't like.
Valen is the son of Adler and Louana is the daughter of Luce and Edan.
I loved that we got bits from each of the parents which included Luce and Edan who's book wasn't part of the MC series. It was great to catch up with where they were.
I wasn't as looking forward to Valen's book only because there are so many that I'm excited for, but his story was still amazing. A complete page turner.
I do wish there was a bit more groveling from Valen for Louana, but still, being young, his reasoning made a little sense.
All in all great and I can't wait fo more.

Second chance done... not exactly right.
Its rare I actually dislike a JG book, but this gave nothing. Usually the characters are the biggest draw with JG stories and these MCs were just not my cup of tea. Valen cause tbh he seems stupidly prideful, and only spoiled brats make the decisions he did and didn't appreciate the family standing behind him. As for the heroine, she needed to get over it, I'm all for some tasty revenge but Who exactly was she bothering with her whole "I'll prospect" plan. It looked desperate and tbh kinda unhinged but not in a cute, quirky way.

All the stars for Louana and Valen. This was an epic emotional rollercoaster right from the very start.
We'd had hints of their story in previous books but as usual there was so much more to their relationship.
Then there are the supporting characters, Voss and Desi to name just two, plus mentions of the club princesses who have yet to have their own stories (hint hint!)
Once again Jessica weaves her spell leaving readers wanting more, so much more.

It was unclear how many years passed when Valen left as the POV from each made them sound like “years” was only months…as it both sounded like they were still 18/ very early 20s. Though both moved on and Louana was painted as a bad ass it still came across that she loved valen more obsessively. I got to the end and didn’t buy the BS reason he left - I was hoping she’d be with someone else as a plot twist and live happily ever after. Nope - I wouldn’t read another from this series.

Okay, I think it’s officially time to step away from Jessica Gadziala’s books. They re all the same. The writing is the same. The hero is always the same with the same mindset as the 30 others before him. The heroine is always the same “damsel in distress” type of character. It’s gotten to the point where I skim most of the books. And for every “you know”, “well”, “of course” and so on, I get more and more frustrated and it’s simply not worth it anymore.

The Next Generation of Henchmen continues to not disappoint! Jessica Gadziala never fails to write stories that will have you fully invested, ignoring all adult responsibilities, read in one sitting type reads!

Is it me or do these books feel blah? Some have been good, a nice backstory, heat, character development but these two just kinda showed up with just a brief appearance in other books. Why not do a book about Dezi? He’s been around a while and is a total enigma.

I found this a little slow at the beginning and I wasn't that keen on either Valen or Luana, but I stuck with it and the back end of the book made up for the beginning - it was really good, exciting and made sense of the first part.
