See, this was why York should put a GPS tracker on the woman he loved. Not that he would, but if he did, then he wouldn’t show up in a town and see said woman trying to do a Spiderman along the face of a building. And, if York hadn’t simply followed his instincts and taken off across the street she would have left an ugly splat on the sidewalk, probably taking out a planter of geraniums. As it were—“Gotcha.” He wasn’t trying to be cute—it was more of a statement of relief, even fury, the spill over of watching her dangle, then slip off the balcony. The fear he wouldn’t reach her in time. For a second, she just stared at him, also breathing hard, those blue eyes blinking in disbelief. Then, “York?” “It’s not Superman.” Then she threw her arms around him, holding so tight she might cut off his breathing. “You’re here.” “I’m here.” She could probably feel his heart pounding, trying to leave his body. “How did you find me?”
He’s not looking for trouble…
All former spy and current national security agent York Newgate wants is to propose to the woman he loves, RJ Marshall. Then they can move to Shelly, Washington, and start the calm, safe life he’s been dreaming of for over a year.
Too bad trouble doesn’t agree…
Or maybe RJ simply attracts trouble because she’s just going out for coffee when she spots a wanted, known terrorist standing in the middle of a street in Paris. At least she thinks it’s international criminal Alan Martin, the mastermind behind a plot to kill the president.
But he’s in jail, right?
Wrong. Martin has escaped, and it’s up to RJ—and York—to keep him in their sights until he can be apprehended. But chasing down Martin means following him into the darkness of whatever plot he’s cooked up now.
Will he ever outrun trouble to find his happy ending?
So much for York’s epic proposal. Now, he just wants to escape Europe with their lives.

I can't help be amazed at the gifts God has delighted me with - a wonderful husband, four amazing children, and the opportunity to write for Him.
I've been writing as long as I can remember - I won my first book writing contest in first grade! Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.
Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the University of MN, my real writing experience started when I penned the The Warren Report - a bi-monthly newsletter that detailed our ministry highlights.
Living in Russia meant I never lacked for great material - and those experiences naturally spilled out first into devotionals and magazine articles and finally into my first published story, "Measure of a Man," in the Tyndale/HeartQuest, Chance Encounters of the Heart anthology.
Susan and husbandI grew up in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis, and became an avid camper from an early age. My favorite fir-lined spot is the north shore of Minnesota - it's where I met my husband, honeymooned and dreamed of living. The north woods easily became the foundation for my first series, The Deep Haven series.based on a little tourist town along the shores of Lake Superior. I have to admit - I'm terribly jealous of Mona, the heroine of my first full-length book, Happily Ever After, a Christy Award Finalist published in 2004 with Tyndale/Heartquest.
Our family moved home from the mission field in June 2004 -- and now we live in the beautiful town I'd always dreamed of! God has amazed me anew with His provision, and blessings -- and allowed me a season when I can write full time for Him.
I 'm delighted you've stopped in to visit. My hope is that you'll be blessed and encouraged by soul-stirring stories of regular people interacting with a God who loves them.

Susan May Warren delivers another heart-stopper a la Jason Bourne in Out of the Night. I'm one of the York superfans who loved him since Ford and was super excited to see a whole series featuring our favorite hero. I really felt for York in this book. The guy obviously needs counseling, although no counseling in the world is ever going to make you just get over the murders of your wife, son, and then girlfriend. He refers once to finding faith (in the book Ruby Jane), but otherwise, there really wasn't a Christian thread in this book alone, and he is still on a search for peace.
However, it doesn't look like he's going to get it with Ruby Jane. To be honest, I really struggled with RJ in this book. She's not done doing super spy stuff, as they call it, and maybe wants to settle down and have a family one day, but not now. Okay. There are many women of God in the history of the world who God used to do amazing things that weren't homemaking and raising a family. So although I can't relate to RJ AT ALL, I give allowance for her there. However, her issue isn't that she's living out God's call, because she never considers God or His will when she looks at her major life decisions. My problem with her stems from the fact that she's not a team player, can't follow orders, is impulsive (which even York concedes can be a good thing), constantly triggers York's trauma, and is generally self-centered. York says that RJ writes the checks and then he has to cash them, and that's true; he suffers quite a bit in this book because of the way she takes him for granted (while telling him she doesn't need him and can help herself). It's really painful to watch. She really wants to help people, which is a good thing, and she WANTS to have the proper training to do so, but to me, the #1 thing she needs to learn is how to take orders from the people running the ops, and if she can't do that, then she's not really cut out for spy stuff and is just using it to deal with her own unresolved issues.
Out of the Night is just 1/3 of the story though (these books cannot be read separate from the others, so don't try), and I have hope for her character arc, but reviewing this book on its own raises a lot of red flags in RJ's motivation and inconsideration of the man she claims to be in love with. Susan May has written a lot of imperfect characters before though, and I believe books should be rated on the delivery and story creation, which are great. Since I don't know the conclusion of the character arc at the time of writing this review, I'm not going to give the author a hard time for writing another imperfect character! But I am looking forward to the rest of the series!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Once again, I fell in love with this high drama and action-packed series!
Characters: RJ and York, both infamous and so exciting. RJ at times did not make the best of decisions - I mean, I don't know how the girl is even still around to talk about all the stunts she pulls - but she also has a fearlessness that is admirable. This girl isn't afraid of much, and she'll do whatever she needs to, no matter the cost. But then she always has to have someone there to back her up, and of course that's York, the amazing super-spy he is. Poor York, though he is such a conflicted character - part of him wants to leave the terrifying and thrilling world of espionage, but the rest of him still loves it. Definitely makes an interesting character. These two are just perfect for each other - especially if they'd stop doing dangerous things and could actually speak to each other!
Plot/Writing Style/Setting: As usual, the settings in these books are so interesting - I love the international intrigue. But the suspense in these books is just outrageous. There's no catching your breath, and I absolutely love it. You never know when the next twist is going to send everyone for a tailspin. The writing style goes right along with the suspense - easy to read, and therefore making for a very quick read. (Because you have to see what's gonna happen!)
Theme/Moral: This one didn't have as strong of a theme as the third book, and it might be because the whole character arc and overall story stretches across the series. More biblical truth and spiritual themes would've been nice, but I'm interested to see what happens in the next novel.
Such a great beginning to this series, and I am already reading the next book in the series. (Do be warned, a bit of the romance gets a bit more detailed than I'd like, but there's nothing explicit.) Overall, though, a great book for those of you who love some good action and outrageous international intrigue.
Out of the Night was everything I could have hoped for in terms of an action packed spy thriller, woven with swoony romance between York and RJ. This book (and series) is one that must be read in order, as this story ends in a cliffhanger. I believe it also needs to be read after both The Montana Marshalls series and the Global Search and Rescue series in order to understand both the worldwide events that have taken place and also as a way to meet RJ and York and learn their backstories and about all of the events that have shaped them into the people they are. Their story really is epic and flows across multiple books.
I really felt for York. He loves RJ so much and wants to spend his life with her. And it is clear that RJ loves York, as well, yet there is something in her which keeps her jumping into danger at every corner. This really takes a toll on York, who wants to put all of the danger behind them. There were portions of this story where I wanted to tell RJ to look in front of her and see the man who wanted to make a life with her. And I think she finally got it and understood how hard this was for York, yet the story arc is far from concluded, and things are far from settled. This book has me ready and anxious to dive into book two, I Will Find You, to see what happens next!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
“It’s the way of evil. It is unrelenting. And the fight is always there. Our job is to just fight the battles we’re assigned to fight.”
RJ and York. They haven’t changed much since the ending of The Montana Marshalls. RJ is still impulsive and stubborn with something to prove. She’s still too curious for her own good and hasn’t learned from any of her near-death experiences, but we can’t have an adventure if she doesn’t lead York into trouble, right? York clearly makes the book. He’s still the steadfast, patient, loving man who just wants to have peace and quiet with RJ but his past catches up with him and he reluctantly dons his 007 persona. This time, nemesis from his past steal high-tech electromagnetic equipment with nefarious plans. There is plenty of adrenaline-fueled action as York and his colleague Roy battle evil. The plot moves swiftly and the suspense is nail-biting. It does end on a cliff-hanger of sorts so you’ll need to immediately get the next book in the series!
Fans of Susan May Warren and the Marshall family will love this continuation of RJ and York’s story. I received the book from the publisher via JustRead Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.
York is ready for the next chapter, but his best laid vacation plans are disrupted by an escaped high profile terrorist in Paris. Suddenly, he and RJ are in pursuit of the terrorist who one plotted to kill the president.
A fast paced read, picking up where Ruby Jane left off with two of my favorite characters, as well as cameos by other familiar faces along the way. But as they work to apprehend the terrorist they also must face questions about their relationship.
An action packed treat for fans of the Marshall family, filled with suspense, if you pick up this series definitely plan on reading all three because you won't want to stop!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
And so it begins! The action comes fast and furious in this book and doesn't let up. It is so good to be back with York and RJ again- and a little stressful because these two. They just cannot stay out of trouble.
There is constant danger and action in this book which made it hard to breathe! I was so caught up in RJ and York. I adore them. Separately and together. We get to know them through the Montana Marshalls Series (which I would recommend reading first) and I love that they get their own epic adventure together all through Europe. The places came alive and the emotions were heightened as York and RJ fight to stay alive and to save the world. Again. Yeah, Ruby drove me crazy a few times. "I'll never leave York again." Then she leaves. "I'll never leave York again!" Then she leaves. Ay, ay, ay, Ruby Jane. She is a jump in first, think later kind of girl. But yeah, it usually works out for her. York is a hero. Plain and simple. The very best kind of hero.
Hang on, buckle up, and get ready! You are in for a ride!! Block out plenty of time, too. You won't want to stop reading!
Content: violence, death, peril. Christian themes. Kissing.

I was so happy that we get to read more adventures with Ruby Jane and York! He was definitely one of my favorites from the Montana Marshalls series. He's kind of like a burned out James Bond, and just wants to retire from the spy game with peace. RJ, on the other hand, still has plenty of energy to give and enthusiastically throws herself into whatever it takes to save the world. I loved their romantic moments, even though they still have things in their relationship to work on. The fast pace is full of nail-biting danger and close calls, with the book ending on a cliffhanger- so be prepared to read this series back to back! I'm so glad the author is releasing them close together so readers don't have to wait or risk losing interest over time.
Disclosure statement: A complimentary copy of this book was provided from a tour group, publisher, publicist, or author, including NetGalley, OR was borrowed from the library, including OverDrive, OR borrowed from Kindle Unlimited, OR purchased. I am one of those readers of Susan’s work that can’t ever get enough of the Marshall family. Seriously, they’re just so fun. I might be a little obsessed 😬. So, when she announced she was releasing this three book series centered around the youngest and only daughter of the Marshall clan, RJ and her love, York I was excited to say the least. Book one in the series is an excellent set up to the rest of the story. Admittedly I found myself a bit annoyed with RJ in the beginning, but it was a necessary part of her journey through the remainder of the series.
So many fun cameos here, basically Susan’s signature inter-connected, ever-expanding world I’ve come to expect and love. Closure and updates from all of my favorite Marshalls too.
If you too love the Montana Marshall family, you do not want to miss this series!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
For fans of Susan May Warren’s Montana Marshalls series…here is the series you have been waiting for! If you are like me and weren’t ready to say goodbye to the Marshalls while still having some unanswered questions, get ready for her new series, The Epic Story of RJ and York. This series continues to feature the intrigue, non-stop danger, and romance that Susan May Warren’s readers love.
While new readers could start with this series, The Epic Story of RJ and York was written for fans of the Montana Marshalls. For maximum enjoyment of the series, it would be beneficial to have read the Montana Marshalls series and possibly the Global Search and Rescue series first.
Out of the Night, the first installment in The Epic Story of RJ and York, begins with York and RJ in Paris and him ready to propose. Of course, in typical York and RJ fashion, danger finds them instead! Out of the Night ends with a cliffhanger that has readers eagerly waiting for the next book in the series. Luckily, they don’t have to wait long, with all three books releasing this August!
Out of the Night is highly recommended for readers of action-filled romantic suspense. You won’t want to miss this series! Now I just hope that Winchester Marshall can get his own story told in the future!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
'It's the way of evil. It is unrelenting. And the fight is always there. Our job is to just fight the battles we're assigned to fight.'
When I heard that Susan May Warren had written a series with more adventures of RJ and York, I was so excited! I loved their story in her previous Montana Marshalls series. So much. Two characters that just leapt off the pages were RJ and York.
So York and RJ are in Paris and he has a ring in his pocket and intends to propose in the most romantic city in the world. He has dreams of them settling down in rural Montana. But wouldn't you know it? Trouble just seems to follow RJ Marshall. She thinks she sees an international criminal in Paris, who was supposed to be in prison. And the adventure begins. And boy, does it ever begin. It's a breath-holding, gasping, cringing, hoping they don't die story. Every minute. I love these two. I want them to have a gorgeously happy ending. But can they? Tune in and find out. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
My thanks to the publisher for a copy of this book. The opinion here is my own.
Out of the Nights picks up where the Montana Marshall series and Global Search and Rescue series end so it will be best to have read those series first, however the author does recaps on the highlights to get new readers caught up.
After I closed the cover on RJ’s book, I was not ready to say goodbye to RJ and York and involvement with spies, so I was so excited to read this series.
It had everything and more I love from Susan May Warren. Danger, Action, Suspense, dashing hero, a heroine acting without thinking needing rescue and some great banter lines.
This story had me on the edge of my seat, fearing for my favourite characters, feeling annoyed with RJ, heart aching for York and lol moments.
It ends in a cliffhanger so please have the second book ready!

If you enjoy audiobooks, you should not skip these audiobooks, because it is the best audios I have listened to. The narrator Adam Gold has the most beautiful deep voice, delivers the telling brilliantly and the added spy affects just adds to an entertaining read.
Out Of The Night by Susan May Warren is an exciting contemporary suspense and the first book in The Epic Story Of RJ And York series. It promises to be thrilling. As a fan of Susan May Warren it was a pure delight to rejoin RJ and York, characters from a previous series. Trouble seems to follow them around as a simple holiday turns into a life and death situation as a game of cat and mouse begins. The action is fast and furious as RJ and York hunt down the villains of the piece. Old faces they assumed were long gone rise up once more to haunt their waking and their sleeping. There is a cosmopolitan feel to the tale as it takes place in Paris and moves to Italy. I found it had a James Bond feel to it. As the novel sped towards its final pages, it is perfectly poised to be continued in book two. It has been a fast-paced riveting read that I read in just one afternoon. I received a free copy from Just Read Tours. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.
This novel is like Alias meets Mission Impossible meets a Jerry Bruckheimer film. It's a fast paced and intense ride against the backdrop of Europe (making everything more intriguing if I'm being honest). It's a shorter book than the average novel, but think of this like the latest installment in your favorite spy thriller television show.
I enjoyed the story and have already started book 2. With that said, I find RJ a bit of an annoying character. She thinks she's the next Syndey Bristow (if you know, you know) but instead runs head long into dangerous situations without thinking them through and after knowing how York feels about her putting herself recklessly in danger. It'll be interesting to see how that may or may not change over the next two books.
Overall, a great and fast ride. We'll see where book 2 takes us next.
If you have ever read the Montana Marshalls you absolutely need to add this to your must reads list... not just your to be read list. MUST READ list, friends!
The action picks up right where you left off with Ruby Jane and York and the suspense and intrigue stays action packed right up to the final page. RJ and York absolutely needed to have more of their story told and this is just the beginning as this is part of a 3 part series of the Epic Story of RJ and York!
RJ continues to test my patience with her jump in without looking ways and York lives up to his legendary international spy status. If you like romantic suspense I highly recommend this book for you!!
Content: mild violence, nothing gory or graphic. There is also a very small Christian aspect to this story that did play a big role in Ruby Jane's book from the Montana Marshall series! SO GOOD!
Thanks to the author for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.
Okay, I admit it. After years of telling myself that I'm not influenced by a book's cover I admit I've just been lying to myself. The cover of Paris and the blurb about a spy adventure - I'm in.
What a great start to this series! While I was not familiar with RJ and York's backstory, I was still able to dive wholeheartedly into the danger and intrigue in Out Of The Night. It was fun to see how Susan May Warren has loosely connected most of her more recent series together into one big high stakes thriller universe. And trust me, the stakes are pretty high in this book! The only question is if both RJ and York can survive long enough to save the world and work things out between them...
(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
Out of the Night by Susan May Warren returns to Paris, France with Ruby Jane Marshall and York. Fans asked for more of their story, and Warren delivered. She delivered well. The story has numerous moments of running away from the terrorists, boat accidents, and drone planes. I love a story with tons of action, and Warren definitely have given fans plenty of this in Out of the Night. As for the romance, it has already been building, and hits a peak in this story, but of course, what would a good suspense novel be without a crook in the road to the happily-ever-after moment? RJ and York have to deal with some past issues and wonder if this life together is really worth it. York is still haunted by the issues from his past. RJ is reckless and still has the drive to be a good spy. I like how Warren left the book in a cliff-hanger, which begs me to read I Will Find You as soon as possible. I love when a novel leaves a reader guessing. The best type of suspense novels in my perspective. Overall, Out of the Night by Susan May Warren a romantic suspense lovers dream. Plenty of action plus having a couple with a romance that has already been established is really nice too. I highly recommend others to devour this book too.
I received a complimentary copy of Out of the Night by Susan May Warren from Sunrise Publishing through JustRead Tours, but the opinions stated are all my own.
The Epic Story of RJ and York is a thrilling series that will take the reader from one exotic European location to the next. The characters face many challenges as they seek to outwit the dangerous Alan Martin.
Readers of Susan May Warren's book will be delighted to see how the story of RJ and York overlaps with some of her other series including the Montana Marshalls and the Sky King Ranch. Woven through it all is RJ and York’s love story. And it's beautiful. York’s love for RJ leaped off the pages and reminded me of the love of Christ for humanity. York pursued RJ across Europe in much the same way God pursues us.
I received an advanced reader's copy from the publisher through Just Read Tours; a positive review was not required.
What is this atrocious schlock I accidentally came across and how is it's rating so very high?
I am convinced the reviews here are fake or paid for, or maybe syndicated.
It is honestly a dismally poor book from start to end.
The characters are one dimensional, annoying and ridiculous. The love story is utterly lacking in credibility, mostly because of the bizarre and silly decision to have two international superspies refrain from sex before marriage. I'm sorry, what? Apart from that, the two characters just bang on about the same silly tension between adventure and safety all the way. The author has no clue whether she wants the middle-aged-fantasist's male hero to be manly and heroic or respectful and kind, and ends up with an unidentifiable mess, while the female hero continually recognises her flaws and then continually repeats them, with zero character development or resolution.
The plot is ludicrous, swaying drunkenly from scene to scene on the strength of farcical coincidences alone - nobody ever works anything clever out, they just always happen to be in the right place at the right time by pure fluke. The villains are not fleshed out and seem to have no rationale or reasoning for their actions.
The quality of writing is extremely low, albeit just about publishable. There is no flair, and there is way to much conversational style and cutesy style language that the author obviously things is colourful, but just looks amateurish.
Part of me feels bad for trashing another person's creative efforts; you can see from my reviews I rarely criticise - I am not a troll. But the current reviews for this book on Goodreads are insanely misleading (quite possibly dishonestly so) and so some course correction is required here.
Wow, what an incredible adventure, a thriller packed with spies, romance and evil international terrorists. Whew! I don’t know how Susan May Warren sleeps at night with all these dangerous images and scenarios whirling around in her head.
I have read all the Montana Marshalls books before this one. But I decided to reread Ruby Jane before starting this one so I’d refreshed my memory and I’d definitely recommend doing that. So I already knew the back story of RJ and York and was more that ready to find out what they were doing next.
Well, let me say, I lost patience with RJ. But I know Ms. Warren will get her straightened up in the next books. But I was still yelling at her in this one. And dear York had about all he could. “But you...you run after trouble like it might be a drug, And it slays me.” Ahhh, and York who only wants to go home and have some peace and quiet. Especially after all the trauma he’s been through. Will this couple ever get a ‘normal life’? I’ll have to keep reading this series to find out” The entire series of three comes out in August -Yea!!
The one thing I did miss was the spiritual counsel and reflections from the previous books. But in this book York does yearn for the time when he his faith was fresh. Thank you to the author/publisher who provided an advanced copy to me. The opinions are entirely my own.
"It is the way of evil. It is unrelenting. And the fight is always there. Our job is to just fight the battles we're assigned to fight."
Traveling to Europe should be a wonderful way to celebrate being in love. But when your girlfriend has been a CIA analyst, you might want to rethink your plans. Especially if your girlfriend tends to notice the bad guys.
I was a bit worried that this was going to be simply York chasing RJ across Europe for three whole books. While I will not give any direct spoilers, thankfully this title (and the whole series) was more than that. There is plenty of adventure, action, danger and a bit of romance.
This book definitely sets up the next two books in the series. I absolutely loved the covers of this series, and I am glad that I read them all. Since I have been to Europe, I felt immersed in the story. Definitely read all three of them in order.
I was so excited to hang out with RJ and York again. And what a thrilling, heartstopping ride this first installment of their story was! My goodness, there were so many times where I could hardly catch my breath.
I didn't think it was possible to like York more than I already did, but it happened. He's such a likable, fierce, loyal, and good guy. To say he's been through a lot would be a vast understatement, but he's such a fighter. I only wanted the absolute best for him. I'm not gonna lie, RJ got on my very last nerve. She was so stubborn, reckless, and rushed into danger without even a thought. By the end of the story, I'd kinda lost all patience for her antics. I just wanted to shake some sense into her.
I'm thrilled that this series is releasing so quickly. It'd be awful to have to wait any longer to find out what happens to these characters next. It's nonstop action and constant danger and I'm really enjoying it so far! I'd definitely recommend reading the Montana Marshalls series before diving into this one. It might technically could be read as a standalone. There's a really good recap of what happened previously, but I think you'd still miss out on a lot if you just start here.
Warren's Out Of The Night continues the Marshal family saga. York Newgate has the perfect proposal planned...what could go wrong in Paris right? All York wants is for RJ to say yes to him and a peaceful life in Shelly, OR. Then a host of characters both friends and allies begin to pop up. which life will RJ choose? Sit back and settle in for one of RJ and York's most suspenseful adventures yet! So pour up a cup of coffee and have enjoy a pain au chocolat while you devour this book!
This review is of a book I purchased and is my true and honest opinion.
Out of the Night is the first book in this trilogy of RJ and York. You will have to read the Montana Marshalls series and the Global Search and Rescue series to get RJ's and York's backstories. York and RJ are in Paris, and York is planning to propose to RJ. However, danger finds them and throws somewhat of a dent in York's proposal. I enjoyed this story as it has nonstop action, intrigue, danger, and romantic suspense. I'm looking forward to books 2 and 3.
Five stars for this first book in a new series. Ruby Jane (or RJ) and York are on vacation in Paris but nothing ever works out the way they planned. Now they are chasing bad guys and trying to stay alive. You won't be able to put this one down.
Out of the Night The Epic Story of York and RJ #1 By Susan May Warren
RJ Marshall (aka Ruby Jane) just can't help herself; she's always finding trouble. Or maybe it finds her? Whatever it is, her romantic getaway to Paris gets a little sidetracked. Okay, a lot sidetracked when she spots an international criminal who is supposed to be in jail. Is it just a coincidence that Alan Martin is in Paris at the same time she and York are? RJ has no idea, but she's not about to sit still and try to figure it out. Nope, she's a go-get-'em type of girl, no matter the cost.
This was supposed to be the perfect moment and place for York Newgate to propose to the woman who has captured his heart and made him long for "normal" - home, family, and a 9-to-5 job. But anything and everything goes wrong. And at any inkling of danger, RJ runs directly into its path with no thought about the cost.
Can RJ avoid trouble long enough to get a ring on her finger? Or will the world come toppling down around them in the chaos that ensues?
Out of the Night is the first book in The Epic Story of RJ and York series, which is a good follow-up series to The Montana Marshalls series as it continues on with their story. This book is good and keeps the action at a high momentum - this one is sure to capture your attention and leave you wondering what will happen next.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion - all thoughts expressed are my own.
“Out of the Night” is book 1 of 3 in this brand new trilogy. RJ (Ruby Jane) and York are part of the “Montana Marshalls” series so although these 3 books are grouped together, reading the Montana Marshalls series first would make the characters more enjoyable in my opinion.
This action packed romantic suspense story will keep you reading nonstop from beginning to end as RJ and York find themselves in danger (of course) in Paris. Poor York-all he wants to do is propose to RJ and settle down and have a “normal” life. Unfortunately danger always seems to follow RJ and she seems to crave it.
Loved all the clean action and suspense! Highly recommend this book and series! This story ended on a major cliffhanger, but thank goodness all three of these books will be released in August one after another.
I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.
I enjoyed reading the Montana Marshall's series and learning all about RJ's family, along with being introduced to York. So, I was thrilled to read more about their adventures! I would recommend at least reading Ruby Jane before picking this series up. Out of the Night is a fast paced story from the get go! RJ is bound and determined to become a spy, instead of pursuing her current boring job. When an innocent trip turns into a race to keep out of the sights of a dangerous criminal, the couple sets off on a, well, epic adventure! I received this book from Just Read. This is my honest review.
