This book has created such a marketable concept for bringing art alive from all the museums in the world! This opens the doors of museums far and wide to everyone. I am enamored with this simple but thought provoking book that does a great job of creating texture, style and color ideas that just pop off the pages of the book. You might choose this or you might choose that but more importantly, tour answers can lead to more curiosity and greater imagination. This is a book for all ages! Children and grown ups can enjoy it together and travel many roads to discovery.

Exploring a Museum

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW ON MY BLOG: http://bookreadingtic.com/2020/08/05/... THANK YOU!

Want your child have a chance to visit the British Museum, and do so from the comfort of your home? This book will help you accomplish that.

All of the pictures in this book are actual items in the museum. Each pair of picture pages asks questions about those items. For instance, on pages featuring different types of transportation, some question asked are: “what vehicles are pulled by animals,” or “how would you like to get around.” Pages picturing animals asks the reader to try to find cats or camels.

By the time you have gone through all the pages, you will have had a fun way to explore the museum as an armchair traveler. Looking at this volume would be a good way to prepare a child before going to visit the British Museum, or any other museum. Before making a visit, it would provide things to look for, and what to expect the experience might be like. I recommend this book to children up to ten years old.

What will you choose: a horn or a harp? Perhaps you’re more interested in different forms of transportation: would you prefer a boat or a hot-air balloon? The possibilities are endless and the choice is yours. Featuring hundreds of artifacts from the British Museum, this is a book readers will pore over time and time again.

MY THOUGHTS:

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Have you ever wanted to know what kinds of things are at the British Museum, well this book has pages full of items that you would see there. Along with pictures for you to choose from, there are simple challenges and questions for discussions. This would be a great book for many ages full of informative pictures and loads to see, compare and talk about. The large size of the book accommodates big and small pictures and is perfect size to fit in little readers’ laps.

This is a great book and I highly recommend it to all, even school libraries.

Every picture on the pages show objects from the British Museum. Each double-page has a main theme, like "Clock or Cup?" and both of those pages have a question, like Do you see any objects with animals on them?" or "Which items would you eat with?" There is a detailed visual index of every page telling about the object: what it is, the artist if needed, time period, etc. This would be terrific for young children to see things not ordinarily seen, to add to their knowledge of the world. If something is particularly intriguing, they will be able to use the index for further research. It's fascinating to view the beauty and the breadth of this object collection which covers transportation, food, art, architecture, and more!
