Cupcakes and muffins.
This is the 4th book of the Holiday series which features six friends in a core friend group and this, in my opinion, is way too many when you count their partners too. And if that isn't enough, we have London from Book 3 who brought with her another two friends, Mariah and Carmen; and Mariah goes and adds on a plus one, and... You get the picture.
That aside, this story belongs to Eleanor, one of the core friends and quite frankly I don't remember much about her in the last three books. There are characters in the friend group who stood out, like Aria and Talon, but not Ellie for me, and the only thing I remembered about her was that she had what seemed like a slight interest in Carmen. This appears to grow into a crush and Carmen remains clueless in this book although not for long. Carmen begins noticing Ellie quite soon into the book and the romance between them is so incredibly sweet (and yes, with cupcakes and muffins too) and I simply can't get enough of it even though I thought they could have waited a bit longer to declare their love for each other. I also really love that we get to see the supportive side of both of them - Ellie, as she helps her brother unconditionally through a crisis and Carmen, as she remains supportive by Ellie's side as she deals with a family situation.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this series and I simply can't wait for the next book to be out. The only two friends left unattached are Scarlet and Paisley, both of whom I have a very vague impression of so my curiousity is piqued.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
