I was so close to giving this five stars until I realized this isn't the last book of the series! The Abberrtion of Eden Pruitt had me on the edge of my seat -literally!

I have to admit there is a lot of information being pumped into the fray and I am trying to keep it all straight in my head, I thought all the loose ends would be tied up but no it ends in another cliffhanger! I want to know what happens and I want to know when the next book comes out! If you like seating on the edge of your seat as each page builds on the last one, where characters keep being introduced which quickly builds on the plot and your head is spinning then you need to go back to the first book, The Fabrication of Eden Pruitt to understand what is going on in the second book and of course the third book.

But I definitely recommend reading this series, Ms. Ganshert knows how to write books that keep you wanting more in whatever genre she writes in. 4.5 stars!

Fantastic ride!

Waiting for book 3 is torture. Ha! What Katie has done well with this series is leave you anxiously waiting for the next book. The first two books end with cliffhangers and I am here for it. I'm not one of those readers that demands each book wrap up nicely. Cliffhangers are what drive me to the next book (which will hopefully be out by the end of the year). Book 1 (The Fabrication of Eden Pruitt) had a ton of action and of course so many unanswered questions that it drew me in and held me there from start to finish. The Aberration of Eden Pruitt took a step back from the action in the beginning so it felt slower to me to start. We were still getting information to fill in the unknowns though and creating a few more as well. I think I just expected to jump right back into the action since book 1 ended on that note. The last half of the book (or maybe closer to 60%), however, picked up and I was once again left not wanting to put it down. This might have been an instance where a non-linear timeline might have worked better to draw the reader (or at least THIS reader) in from the start, beginning with a key event and then pulling back to "5 weeks earlier" in order to bring the reader back to what lead to that moment which would help drive them on to that frenzied "can't put it down" reading right out of the gate. This series is full of surprises and usually just when I think I've got things figured out! There's several "I did not see that coming" moments. The characters are all great and I'm invested in all of them - and especially anxious for some of them (EEK!). I'm also so excited that Katie has narrated the audiobooks because I plan to listen to the first two before reading book 3. Great series for fans of YA with sci-fi and dystopian qualities.

This is the second book in K. E. Ganshert’s newest Young Adult trilogy. If you have not read book one, the Fabrication of Eden Pruitt, I suggest that you get it, and then wait until book 3 comes out to read the whole series at one time. There are enough plot twists, different groups of characters, and cliffhanger endings that having to wait several months between books is frustrating.

The characters continue to develop and try to figure out how to live their lives in the midst of increasing chaos in the world around them, as well as try to find answers about who is doing what, and which are the bad guys and which are the good guys.

When the third book does come out, I’m probably going to have to re-read books 1 and 2 before I read book 3, just to keep straight all the characters and what’s happened. I’m glad I read this book, but it’s not easy, light reading, and there’s a lot of plot threads just hanging, so I’m wondering what will be resolved and what will still be hanging at the end of the series.

This was so good! I loved the first book and was so anxious to get my hands on this sequel. The last half was almost nonstop action, constant danger, and lots of twists and turns. Not to say that the first half wasn't good. It was great! It was just a little slower paced than I was expecting in comparison to the first book. It was still incredibly compelling, though. Pretty much from page one, there was an air of anticipation, of impending danger and disaster, that had me so nervous for what was to come. We did find out some things and got some very interesting answers. More questions popped up, too. And that cliffhanger ending has me incredibly impatient for the next book.

I was honored to be a part of the launch team for The Fabrication of Eden Pruitt, book 1 in the series. Book 2, The Aberration of Eden Pruitt was exactly what I needed to dive back into this fantastical world. The only problem now is I have to wait for book 3 for the unforeseen future.

This series is great for readers who enjoy YA thriller/dystopian-esque worlds with some fantasy elements.

Well that went sideways in a hurry. And out of all of the twists and reveals that came fast and furious the last ten percent or so of the book, I only figured one of them out ahead of time.

Another Nail Biter

This second book in The Eden Pruitt Trilogy was even better than book 1, The Fabrication of Eden Pruitt. There was non-stop action and a very well thought out plot. I can hardly wait to read book 3 to see how K.E. Ganshert pulls it all together.

This series is a great read. Especially if you like fantasy. This title is under a YA heading. There is some pda. I can't wait to read the rest when they come out in this series. Katie is a wonderful author. She has done a great job with this book.

A fantastic sequel to the first book! And that ending - giving the reader SO many questions and massive cliffhangers. I loved the introduction of Barrett, "Jane," and Ellery - the other weaponized teens. I look forward to the further development of their stories in book three.

Expected twist

The story is fascinating, but I have to wonder where it's going. I've suspected all along that the new bad guy would turn out to be the bad guy. But where is the writer going with this? I hope Eden gets answers soon.

I wish every POV change/new chapter did not begin with some new anecdote about the character/some short backstory to lead into whatever the character is presently faced with. It created this frustrating rhythm every time the storyline was handed off from one protagonist to another—instead of continuing the build in intensity, there was this irritating drop before the build begun again till it was handed off to yet another protagonist and the intensity would frustratingly dip again and on and on it went.

Things were not being explained fast enough for me— the urgency I feel like the story required made the authors languorous writing and pacing really frustrating. But I kept reading, so three stars.
