What if marriage to a dangerous stranger is your only chance at survival?
Eden Marshall needs to disappear, but escaping her abusive ex-boyfriend proves impossible … until she meets Bishop Chambers. Known for giving new lives to those desperate enough to afford him, Bishop isn't a savior; he's a ruthless negotiator with his own agenda. Eden's freedom comes with one unexpected condition: she must become his wife.
Bishop Chambers never planned to take Eden's case. She doesn't fit his usual clientele, and he's not in the business of charity. But marrying Eden solves a problem of his own, and gives her the protection she desperately needs.
It's just business. A marriage of convenience meant to end in four weeks. It was meant to be temporary, a solution to a complicated situation.
But as threats close in, Bishop realizes protecting Eden isn't just part of the deal, it's become his only priority, even if it means breaking every rule he’s ever lived by.
If you are looking for gentle romps through the flowers, with lovers holding hands and never making mistakes, then my books are not for you.
I don't write heroes or heroines, I write people with baggage, history and problems. My characters are flawed, they're messy, they make disastrous mistakes that are hard to come back from. My stories are not sweet or kind, they are dark and, at times, cruel. They deal with uncomfortable subjects and I do not apologise for it.
If you like plot twists, characters you don't think you'll ever grow to love but eventually do, sarcasm, dark paths and messy relationships, then come on in. The water may be deep and shark-infested, but I know the way out ...I promise.

Bishop is the second book of this series, and it’s every bit as a good as the first. If you’re a fan of Lee Ann you appreciate a cameo appearance of another character from a different series. This story has drama, action and some really delightful dry and snarky humor. Bishop is just… he’s dick. He’s hilarious though. And even though he is a sick, he’s actually quite lovable. He DOES care, just deeeeeep down lol and let’s be honest this story doesn’t have your typical meet cute.
If you’re looking for something different, that doesn’t fit the typical mold for romance, and doesn’t quite live in any particular subgenre… this series is definitely for you.
I’m really really looking forward to Knight, the next book. I have a feeling that Knight will be my favorite brother yet.
This book and the first one are shockingly good for having so little reviews on here.
I like that there is still “third act conflict” without the unnecessary break up act authors love to do.
All the characters who are meant to be likable are likable, all the ones who are not, are not. I don’t think book 3 is out but it looks like she’s set up knights romance in this book and it looks good
Bishop Chambers. Tall, dark, and tattooed. He is skilled in making people disappear, while enabling them to live a new life. He is a private man who doesn't let others get close, other than his family. He has a dry sense of humor, if you can recognize it.
Eden Marshall. Redhaired, green eyed, and feisty. She's been running and hiding for years from an abusive ex-boyfriend. She was given Bishop's name and reached out to him for help. She got more than she bargained for when she met him.
Bishop and Eden spark off each other from their first meeting...not in a romantic way. She's not his usual client and that has him forming a contract with her so they both get out of the jams they are in. One weekend spent convincing others of their relationship, then four weeks to get everything in order for her new life...what could go wrong?
I wasn't sure how I would feel about Bishop after reading and enjoying his brother Rook's story. I shouldn't have worried. I felt connected to Bishop, because he's a planner. He doesn't like spontaneity, which isn't surprising when you have a job like his. He can read people well and needs to in order to survive in his profession. Order, plans, being prepared...those are things Bishop excels at. Then Eden comes into his world. She's a contradiction. A victim, yet a strong person. She throws his order into disorder. She rises to the task he put before her and handles the "sticky" situation with class and fire.
Lee Ann has again created characters who have damage from their past, but this only makes them stronger, especially Eden. She stands up to Bishop, not realizing how that impacts him. His little smirks, her little digs...I guess that's their way of flirting at first. Their relationship is a slow build, but it's the building that makes it so good when it happens. I loved the dynamic between Bishop and Eden.
I enjoyed seeing Rook and Dally again and seeing how their relationship is working out. The brief glimpse of Knight has me intrigued. He's a mystery and I can't wait to see how Lee Ann unwraps him for us.
I am a confirmed fan of Lee Ann and her stories. I've read them all and I love that they aren't cookie cutter books, especially those in the same series. Each one stands on its own and has a distinct plot that makes it vastly different than the rest. That's the same for Bishop, book 2 in the Chambers Brothers series.
Wow! I read this the same day I received it. I could.not. put it down! I had not read the first book in this trilogy, and I don’t think it’s necessary but I definitely spoiled some things for myself about that book by not doing so. I do plan to go back and read that.
Eden is a woman who’s been through some pretty intense trauma looking for a way out. Bishop has a specific skill set that can help her find that way out, except she can’t afford it. He makes her an offer she can’t refuse, be his wife for 4 weeks. She gets a new identity, and he gets a personal situation taken care of. Eden is timid, but remains strong despite her trauma. Bishop is a classy, broody, no nonsense type of guy. The tension between these two at times was soooo 🥵
What I really liked about this book was the very intentional writing and twists to keep you guessing, but not long enough to where you decide to skip ahead just to see when things will start happening. There’s action, suspense, and steam. It’s a bit of a slow-burn build up, but nothing too torturous.
This is the 5th book by L. Ann that I’ve read, and it does not disappoint one bit.
Lee Ann never disappoints, anything she writes I have to read in Kindle and own the paperback.
Bishop and Edens story starts out with Eden seeking out Bishop to hire him to get her away from an abusive ex who also happens to be a NYC detective. What they both don't know is that it is a setup by a woman who lied to Bishop about her marital status.
Bishop agrees to help her but she isn't financially able to afford his fees and he suggests a marriage of convenience that quickly becomes the real thing.
Love anything written by Lee Ann and this was no exception!!!
Loving the Chambers brothers books , can't decide who's my favourite so far . Bishop and Eden had me hooked and with an extra suprise character in there ( my favourite character ) , I have to say I was very happy L.Ann never disappoints 😁
Another amazing book by L. Ann! I love this next story in the Chambers Brothers. The books can be read as standalone but why would you want to? Fantastic writing, original storyline, a must-read!! 5 stars
Heroine is running from her abusive stalker ex BF who is a cop. It’s been 4 yrs and he almost killed her so she seeks H out for help.
Hero is a “handler” and somewhat of a killer who helps people out of dicey situations – at a price. He had been in a 6 month semi relationship with a married woman who is the wife of a Mafia Boss. He did not know she was married when he was sleeping with her so he makes a deal with heroine that he will protect her from the ex if she marries him for 4 weeks to stop OW from trying to get in his bed so that her Mafia Husband doesn’t kill him.
From start to finish, there was a lack of chemistry & sizzle with these characters, never mind romance. In fact, NOTHING about this can be said it is a fictional romance! NOTHINGS! When characters typically meet, there are POV’s in which the reader can see how attracted they are and can’t keep their hands off one another. However, here there was none of that. H saw heroine naked or semi naked in the beginning and didn’t react - at all. He wasn’t turned on or even had a POV to at least tell us he found her bruised body attractive or something. From first meeting, we got no thoughts if he found her beautiful, etc.
I think it was not until more than 80% that they even kissed and had sex. Before then, they even slept in the same bed and nothing happened so for a fictional romance to work, you have to have your characters be attracted to one another. SHOW us. TELL Us. Make us BELIEVE they are attracted & meant to be.
We did get inserts how hot & beautiful the OW was and the great sex they had, how they met & started their relationship, how he shared some personal & emotional stuff with her about his life, etc. He even said he was starting to fall for her & want more but that went out the window when he found out she lied and was married. So I kept wondering where was all this attraction for the heroine? I don’t think he even ever said he found her beautiful or sexy – or that he was falling for her and wanted her in his life, etc. A few words in the end does not a romance make.
So yes, the OW got more of the “romance” in this story then heroine ever did. I did like though he didn’t have any leftover feelings for OW. He kept pushing her away as if she was an annoying twit so that garners a 1 star only from me.
She needs to hide, needs a new identity. He has the skill set to make that happen. Without a way to pay for his services, a deal is struck. Be his wife for 4 weeks and he will set her up with a new identity.
This book pulled us back to Glenville with the oldest Chambers brother. Bishop is class personified. His tailored suits and careful planing show a man that is always in control, one who is hiding a dark passenger. The author gave us a man of planning and threw him at a women of chaos. Eden is timid with a fiery core. She has been beaten down but the spark hasn’t been extinguished. We get to see her take her fire back and learn to be herself again.
The inner dialogue of these two characters as they come to terms with their feelings had me giggling through the chapters. Each one’s feelings growing along with their doubts. The author is a master at writing broken characters and allowing us to love them for all of their broken pieces. The author doesn’t try to fix them and tie them in a nice little bow. She gives them real responses and real growth, showing that not everything can be fixed and that it is ok. As the story went on, I saw pieces of myself in Eden as well as Bishop.
Filled with suspense, and a cast of side characters who will have you on edge, Bishop takes a marriage of convenience and gives us butterflies, electricity and heat that will make you sweat.
Another great book by L.Ann who is now one of my favourite authors, I just love everything she writes! Bishop was exactly like I expected him to be, he didn’t disappoint at all. Eden was so sweet but also brave and strong. I loved the fact she stood up to Bishop and didn’t let her past define her future with him. It was also great to see Rook and Dally together, lovely to see her now having more confidence and drinking now too! I’m so intrigued by Knight! He seems to have issues and is in a bit of a situation that I can’t wait to hear more about!! Deacon was great again, I haven’t read his story yet but after seeing his appearance in both Rook and Bishop plus in the forgotten legacy books I now need to read it! Overall another fantastic book. I loved the interactions between Bishop and Eden, the heat and the action, another 5 star read from L.Ann and I book I would highly recommend.
The Chambers Brothers! *sigh* I tried to claim Bishop but was informed he’s already taken. So he’ll have to be my secret book boyfriend. Shh don’t tell.
Seriously, though, this book has everything you could possibly want in a fixer-for-hire, fake marriage, gray area, suspenseful romance book.
Bishop is complex, hot, reticent, protective, and super sexy.
Eden has been through a very challenging time, and by all rights should be a shadow of herself. Yet she’s strong, and a fighter, and willing to put herself out there to Bishop. She had her moments, as she realistically would, but she comes back fighting.
This book is well written, both grammatically and content-wise. It grabbed me from the first page and ended far too soon. There’s no Cliffhanger, it’s a full and complete story. I just want more of them, that’s how good it was.
You don’t “need” to read Rook first, but if you haven’t, you’ll definitely want to after this because both he and Magdalena are in this. There’s also an appearance from a much loved character from one of her other series, and a clue to the next brother in line for a book, Knight. I can’t wait to read his story!
"You are far more annoying than I thought you'd be." "Oh, I haven't even begun to annoy you yet."
Well, what can I say about Bishop Chambers, other than...... I....want.....him.
He's a bad boy extraordinaire. A "fixer", and if that means someone needs to unalive, so be it. Finding Eden in the trunk of a car was not in the plan. But, she needs his help, and he needs a fake wife. Win-win, right?
Well, what starts out as fake, ends up becoming a little too real. But, when Eden's past catches up to her, he'll do what he has to in order to keep her safe. The only question is, will he make it in time?
I love a story where the hardened, unemotional man, is totally undone by the woman he never saw coming. And, even though Bishop has his own body bag count, I'd still want to straddle him like a rodeo bronco. Yee-Ha!
Ahhhh Bishop I freaking love you! In all fairness, I love this whole family! This was the oldest brother Bishop’s story. I loved how this book started. It kept me hooked from the first page (which L. Ann is always good at) until the end. The FMC, Eden, was an amazing counterpart to Bishop. Their chemistry was popping and when they finally give in to it 🥵🥵🥵. I love when the men are hot and murderous, but only when necessary, and the females are sassy and strong. This book DE-LIV-ERS!!!!!
I can’t wait for her to do Knight’s book. At the end of this story all I could think was “Ok L. Ann when are you getting to Knight’s story?” lol 😆 I need more of these boys!
I received an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.
ARC Review: Tropes/Trigger Warnings: TBA (will edit after release) Characters: Eden and Bishop Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 Spice: 🌶️🌶️ slow burn Favorite Quote/scene: “I’m fine.”“Fine fine, or fine?” I frowned at her. “What does that even mean?” Magdalena laughed. “Fine— as in healthy and well? Or fine—as in fucked up, insecure, neurotic and emotional? F. I. N. E.” Over all thoughts on book and/or author: I liked Rook, but I'm so in love with Bishop Chambers 🤤. Eden finds herself in a situation that requires Bishop's help. Discipline planner Bishop wasn't ready for the spontaneity that is Eden. Such a good book, I'd highly recommend this book. I can't wait to see what Knight brings us.
Bishop by L Ann is book two in the Chambers Brothers series. This story is told from both main characters POV, no cliffhanger and has a HEA. This book can be read as a stand alone, however there are characters from the first book who are significantly involved in this storyline, so if you get a chance to read Rook, do it! There is also a surprise cameo from her fantastic wolf shifter series.
This story centers around Bishop Chambers and Eden Marshall. Bishops main line of work is helping people disappear and Eden is looking to do just that. This book is fantastic, it has romance, super hot loving, mystery, and a little danger. I heartily recommend this book.
Bishop - L Ann The Chambers Brothers Trilogy Book 2
My Review: My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶🌶🌶 Pages: 326 Genre: Romance, Romantic Suspense
Bishop Chambers, the fixer, the best at what he does. A no nonsense get the job done professional. Hyper awareness skill like no other with a take no prisoners mentality.
Eden Marshall, fiery redhead in desperate need of escaping an abusive ex. Knows she either escapes or she will be meeting her own death.
A highly explosive book that will hold you mesmerized. No spoilers here…you will have to read this book. It will hold you captive!!
Bishop is book two in this series. He’s the older brother or the “fixer”. He gets himself into a little trouble and is faced with a woman who is trying to run away from her ex.
I just loved the dry humor and no nonsense hunk of a man in this book. The MFC is a once beaten down woman who finds herself again with the help of the MMC. They are perfect for each other!
This book is a fake marriage, age gap, and has suspense with a HEA.
It’s a slow burn, but the wait is worth it! This book can be read as a stand-alone, but better when the first book in the series is read first. Rook is the first book. Another great story!
Book 2 for those hot alpha Chambers Brothers and this time we get the story of eldest brother Bishop. An unexpected interview with the police brings a whole heap of other issues including kidnap, drama and a contract for our level headed brother Bishop. Eden is trying to escape her life due to a stalker and a plan is put in place to help, but all best laid plans never usually go well. This was a slower burn chemistry between these guys but it was fab to see them start to thaw against each other and start to realise their true feelings! Absolutely cannot wait for Knights story 😍
This is the 2nd book in the Chambers brothers series and it can absolutely be read as a standalone. I love marriage of convenience stories. I've read a lot of books with that trope, but L. Ann succeeds to bring something new with her story. I really felt a connection with both Bishop and Eden and I was immediately immersed in that full of suspense slow-burn romance. We had glimpses of the third Chambers brother and I can't wait to read his story.
This was missing the magic of Rook's book. The chemistry wasn't great between Bishop and Eden. I found him severely lacking as an H. But Eden was a good h, I just wish she were better matched.
I didn't enjoy the storyline. It was disappointing. Bishop's motivation for their fake relationship revolved around his entanglement with another woman. For a "Fixer," he sure pussy footed around that whole situation.
Also, for someone who was running for her life from her stalker, Eden sure had a piss poor way of disguising herself, i.e. doing nothing to disguise herself other than keep running. 🤡
Oh well, I'll still plan to read Knight's... maybe.
I’ve been anxiously awaiting Bishop’s book and L. Ann did not disappoint. While Bishop’s book didn’t have all the spice I’m use to, the story line was really good and kept me engaged (so much so I finished in one sitting). I absolutely loved Eden as an FMC, while she had some volunerability (for obvious reasons) she is a strong as a f*** FMC and handled Bishops alpha-tude like a boss. The one and only complaint I have with this book is I wish there were more smexy scenes. I’m really hoping when Knight’s book comes out we get treated with a novella of some sort, because I absolutely love these character.
Bishop is the latest and greatest by author L Ann. I absolutely LOVED Rook so I didn't see how the author could top his story but boy did she ever deliver. Bishop was everything you could hope for as a reader with a suspenseful, edge of your seat storyline and electric sparks flying between the main characters.
The author has mastered the art of the slow burn. Every interaction between Eden and Bishop crackles with anticipation of what is to come. Amazing story that I highly recommend. Now I'm impatiently waiting for Knight's story and based on the tidbit we got a taste of, it's going to be electrifying.
When you can't afford to pay the fee to the man who you need to hire to make yourself disappear, what do you do? You marry him of course 😂
A business contract that slowly stops feeling like a contract. Bishop has never done anything but work, his life is work, until he meets Eden he thinks he is just trying to help her by helping himself, but he finds he likes her around more than he wants to help her get away.
Eden is surprising strong for someone in her position, she definitely has some sass to her but in a good way.
Knights story is definitely going to be interesting 😂
A chance meeting in a bad situation which leads to helping each other out of bad situations.
These Chambers boys really are all just big Teddy bears in disguise when it comes to their women. All the grumpy and ink just hiding the squishyness inside that even they don't know exists.
And Eden, well she's just my hero, so much strength.
Bishop has all the twists and turns that you would expect from L Ann's writing because let's face it if it didn't we would all be disappointed.
Bishop the eldest of the Chambers brothers finds himself in a tight spot when an opportunity presents itself in the form of Eden Marshall. The story has the usual twists and turns that you expect from L. Ann. She is a master of not going in the obvious direction. I enjoyed the interaction between the characters, the chemistry is subtle at first. Slow burn at its finest, but when it ignites it’s hot and STEAMY! A great read for anyone looking for something different and not your typical tropes. Five shiny stars ⭐️
L.Ann is a one click no questions asked favorite author of mine and she deserves a round of applause for Bishop. Bishop and Edens story is weaved together with the perfect blend of drama, suspense, and steam.
I knew from the moment I met Rook that I had to know his brothers and Bishop did not disappoint! And aren't I a lucky girl because Knight is coming and I can't wait to embrace his darkness! On that note! I highly recommend you start the series with Rook! Each book in the series is a standalone but I KNOW you will want to read them all!!!
Everyone needs a Bishop in their loves! Grumpy, deadly and a mushy center he doesn’t want anyone to see.
Like a carnivore I DEVOURED this book in one sitting. It has it all! kidnappings, crazy x boyfriends, bad boys, smart alike women and all the feels. Highly recommend this book and this series because his brothers story is pretty hot too!
There are trigger warnings so beware. But if you love a dark romance I 100% recommend!!!!!
LOOOVED BISHOP!! I'm a total sucker for an alpha who likes to be in control. BUT even better, I love a book where he's matched with his opposite!
No spoilers here, so I will just say, if you are a fan of dark romance and opposites attract plus a heroine trying to get herself out of a bad situation.. one-click this book!
L. Ann is a masterful writer who grabs her readers' attention from the start and keeps them turning the pages until the last page!!
