Sir Robert Christopher 'Robin' Mackworth-Young GCVO (12 February 1920 – 5 December 2000) was a British academic and librarian, who served as Royal Librarian from 1958 until 1985.
As such, he was custodian of the personal and official correspondence of former sovereigns from 1760 to 1952, and the papers of other members of the Royal Family, along with royal household documents and other papers lodged in the Round Tower at Windsor Castle.
4 stars. A very thorough and nicely illustrated history and look into Windsor Castle. I especially liked the pictorial reconstructions that gave you an idea of what the castle looked like at various stages of its almost 1,000 year history. However, very sadly lacking are any floor plans and related plats, which would give one better context for what you're reading about. I'm not talking about detailed plans, obviously, but many of the areas are public and could thus have been sketched out, drawn out.
