Tempting a Knight

Rate this book
Brooke

My brother’s murderer wants me during my next heat, and I’ll do anything to stay out of his grasp. Sebastian was my brother’s best friend, but that was years ago, and now he’s a different man.
Or should I say wolf?
Him and the Hell’s Knights are the only thing that can save me and my family, but will he still care enough to accept my offer?

Sebastian

The garage is a success and saved me from the slums like we’d always planned. The only problem is my best friend isn’t here to see his dream come to life.
Now his little sister needs help to avoid his murderer, but it could mean war for my men. I should say no and stay out of it, but the nerdy little girl I remember has grown up to be an omega I can’t ignore.
I tried to stay away, but with her brother’s death on my conscious she became my new obsession.

And no one touches what’s mine.

Wife and mother of four, my days have been reduced to begging for the littlest to sleep so I can have time to write my books. I'm blaming my reduced schedule on Cupcake.
Facebook is the best place to find me, or you can sign up for my newsletter here (https://leannryans.com) to keep up with current and upcoming projects as well as special promotions and such.

I grew up on Sci-fi and Fantasy books with some of my favorite authors being Anne McCaffery and Mercedes Lackey. In 2013 I discovered paranormal romance and delved into a whole new world. After reading Omegaverse stories from Addison Cain and Nora Ash, I had the idea for The Omega Prize and decided to take a shot at writing a book of my own. The beginning was rough, it took two months to write the first five chapters, but as my 2019 New Year’s resolution I said I was going to finish the story and committed to writing every day. It didn't take long for the book to begin telling itself, and from there I just kept going.

Most of my books are Omegaverse, but they span other genres like Sci-Fi, dystopian, and historical barbarians. There is even a small-town Enemies to Lovers Romance story in there. They main contain dark elements but I wouldn't call them dark romance since my alphas tend to be a little mushy in the center. I promise there's always a HEA.

2.5 - 3 Stars, Kindly Rounded Up

This had so much potential...the world was interesting and the premise was solid. I really liked the setup idea, the two main characters had great chemistry from the onset, and simply put, I will literally read anything about omegas/alphas/heats/mating. Every. Time.

The problem for me was the execution. The world-building was not that great and I would have loved a little bit more background on how alphas could be both human and shifter. Maybe then I would have understood why the shifter alphas (who were described as being bigger and stronger) seemed to have such a hard hard whipping the asses of the humans. I mean, come on, they almost seemed inept with how much around and around they did trying to hide from them.

And then the humans group kept destroying their shit and hurting some of their shifter members. It just didn't make sense. I feel like there were high numbers in the shifter Knight gang, and we've established they are physically stronger...so, what are we doing here? Fucking kill them already. It made them seem weak bumbling idiots to me. So frustrating.

That and the female lead showing up to the big fight at the end (a classic too stupid to live female move) really brought this down for me. Kind of a bummer, but it's all good. Next.

Omegaverse and MC...what more could you want?!!

I really liked this new Omegaverse world that Leann created where you have human alphas and shifter alphas. In this series, there is a mafia like organization, the Purists, made up of human alphas who think shifter alphas are inferior and should be wiped from the face of the earth. Not every human is prejudiced though, and most shifters just want to live in peace. But you know how things go....some jerks can't just leave well enough alone.

Arik, son of one of the Purists founders, gets a whiff of Brooke one day as she works her dead end job at a convenience store. Brooke, an omega, was getting close to her heat and Arik decides he's gonna claim her and she's gonna give him heirs. Brooke who detests Arik's racist butt, and believes he had something to do with her brother's death, runs to the only person she trusts to keep her safe...Sebastian.

Sebastian is the sexy alpha shifter head of Hell's Knights MC and her dead brother's best friend. They all grew up together. The Hell's Knights help those in the community and help protect people and shifters from the Purists. Sebastian doesn't think he's good enough to get involved with Brooke, even if it's to help her, because he feels he should have been able to stop her brother's murder. But he can't let the sadistic Arik get his hands on her and claim her against her will.

This was super yummy. Poor, hotstuff Sebastian was so tortured by his guilt from the past. Brooke was this sweet compassionate omega who came along and was willing to fight for what she wanted and for their future happiness. I loved all the growly alpha possessiveness that Sebastian was throwing down, and he showed just who was in charge in and out of the bedroom. There are also some very intriguing side characters that have left me craving the next book in the series.

Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Tempting a Knight is a steamy, fast burn shifter omegaverse with a protective, wolf shifter alpha H (Sebastian) and a damsel in distress, human omega h (Brooke). Leann Ryans’ new world has a blend of shifters and humans with the omegaverse dynamic and it was interesting how there were clashes along those lines. Told in first person, dual POV. No ow drama (yay for an MC with no club bunnies running about), om drama from a human alpha trying to take Brooke, neither are virgins (h has spent time with an alpha friend before and no details for the H other than he’s never been with an omega in heat), and no bc discussed/used.

The H and h knew each other when they were younger since he was best friends with Brooke’s brother but then her brother is killed and Sebastian blamed himself and withdrew. Brooke ended up not going to college so she could help her parents and works at a convenience store while Sebastian is an auto mechanic and owns his own garage and became a default leader of an MC. Now, Brooke is being harassed by a human alpha who’s a gang leader and claiming her for her next heat. She’s desperate to find another alpha and she approaches Sebastian. Then we get some push/pull because he’s immediately attracted to her but not good enough and she also doesn’t give him the full story. Once he does know, he’s super protective of her and his MC also protects her and her parents.

As part of that protection, there’s lots of steam during and outside of Brooke’s heat so scenting, marking/biting, nesting and knotting. Shifters also have three forms - human, animal, and were (a larger, furry monstery form) the last one which Brooke does see in an intimate way.

Of course, even with protection, the bad guy keeps coming for them so there’s some fighting and violence. There’s mention of a and a bit of on page torture. With that said, most of this story is Brooke and Sebastian either in bed or trying to figure out what to do. I do wish there was more on page non-steamy connection/getting to know each other now. They each have thoughts about how they need that but we don’t see it. It’s also not clear with shifters if mates are fated or they’re drawn to someone and choose them.

The story ends with a HFN/HEA of them a few months in the future with their mate claiming. Threat of danger still exists with the human anti-shifter gang, I anticipate that will be ongoing in the series. Lots of potential for other MC shifters as potential future Hs of their own stories are briefly introduced throughout this book. I was the most curious about Patch (a tattooist who was going to be a dr with a special but unspecified inner animal) and Danger (a masked alpha with a lot of power).

An omega under threat, a human alpha who murdered her brother and who takes what he wants, and a shifter alpha who thinks he isn't worthy of her but who has more honour in his little finger than many Purists - those who are trying to eliminate shifters. Leann Ryans has written a compelling story which has the reader agonising over the choices the main characters make. Sebastian is a wonderful hero, and his MC group - Hell's Knights - are knights in the true sense of the word: courtly, chivalrous and decent to the people in this world. The first of a new series, I am looking forward to more, especially a certain tattooist/medic's story!

I had a hard time reading this book and thought about DNFing. It’s not bad, the story is original, omegaverse shifters and humans, motorcycle club and gang related business, which is why I kept going. But it read like a description even if it was written in first person POV, so I didn’t get emotionally involved and couldn’t feel for what the characters were going through. I think maybe the writing style isn’t for me!

Although the subject matter and setting is unique among the author's previous works, this story still packed her signature action and sensual punch. It is a bit of a slow burn read, allowing for the fleshing out of the world building and history between the characters. Having both humans and shifters collectively a part of the ABO universe in the setting creates an interesting dynamic compared to most other similar reads. There is lots of steam and a HEA that make this story well worth reading.

For the author's first novel about shapeshifters, this is a really good book. The fast-paced action makes it a real page-turner. The author has created a world in which alphas, omegas and betas are found in both humans and shapeshifters. The city in which the action takes place is divided by groups of gangs. One od them are the Purists, whose members are made up of humans who believe they are of the superior race, and all hybrids, shapeshifters, and their sympathizers should be eliminated. The main character, Brook, who is a human omega, became the object of interest to the son of a higher-ranking gang member. Arik is famous for his cruelty towards women as well. Not wanting to accept the fate that awaits her at his hands during the upcoming heat, she decides to ask Sebastian - leader of the MC Hell's Knights for help. Not only is Sebastian an alpha werewolf, he is also a childhood friend of her deceased brother. Arik considers her behavior a betrayal not only of him but also of humanity and decides to take revenge.
I liked the creation of the main characters. Brook, even though she is an omega and submission is in her nature, has been portrayed as a woman with a backbone who is ready to fight for those she cares about. Sebastian, as befits an alpha, is a man fighting for the weak, but he is torn between wanting to help Brook and risking the lives of MC members. An additional advantage is the fact that the author did not focus only on the creation of the main characters and their opponent, but also on the side characters. There are some interesting details in the book that stimulate the imagination of the reader who wonders who these characters are and how their lives will turn out. I must admit that I was very intrigued by Danger - a completely mysterious figure. I would also like to know the fate of Jackson, who, after everything he has been through, deserves someone to heal his broken soul. I think the book is a great start to the series and I look forward to the next one.

A super steamy fast burn shifter omegaverse with a super protective alpha wolf shifter and a super sweet omega damsel in distress, who's not without a backbone. A difficult to achieve balance as far as this type of character is concerned and very nicely done here.

The book stands out in the genre through a unique worldbuilding to which I'm looking forward in the next instalments of this series. No, the wordbuilding isn't perfect and seems even downright sketchy at times, but it is unique. And taking into account the fact it's a first in series, there's room for fleshing it out in the next books.
The tale starts out strong, hooking the reader from the very first page and holding them there, at the edge of the seat, for the first few chapters.
There's this palpable feeling of shit's about to hit the fan that keeps hovering and constantly amps the tension. And then we get all those feelings and emotions leaping from the page from both of the MCs! A solid combination that's bound to get any reader invested.

The characters themselves are fabulous. As far as shifter description goes, I love the way the wolf's traits are never lost in both the behaviour and reactions of the human. While Sebastian might not be quite the perfect book boyfriend for me, I have to admit he is absolutely perfect for a strong alpha wolf shifter.
And I liked Brooke, despite my general dislike of damsels in distress. Because, as I've already mentioned before, she did have a backbone - something these damsels usually lack.

The smut is a lot and off the charts hot. And when I say a lot, I really mean A LOT. Not that I'm complaining, because it's on fire, but I do wish we would have been given more out-of-the-sheets action too. As it is, a huge chunk of the tale seems to be happening in between the sheets, while another lets us see what the characters think they need or want to do.

All in all, this first book in the Hell's Knights MC series is a fast super steamy shifter/MC read that manages to bring something new to an already saturated genre.
It does have a few triggers, but ends in a lovely HEA, leaving a nice opening for a sequel.
A solid start to a promising series.

Family means something so dear to each of us this is the first book in the Hell’s Knights MC series, and he will do what is needed to protect his family. Brooke is strong omega trying to cope after her brother’s murder especially with the murder demanding her during her next heat and he isn’t the type to accept no for an answer so she is hoping for her brother’s best friend will help protect her. Sebastian sexy as all get out shifter a part of the Hell’s Knights owns a garage but feeling a loss because it was his and his best friend’s dream to have a successful garage, he just wishes he lived to see it. So, when his siter shows up on his doorstep asking for help he knows the answer should be no because it could start a war, but she is family and how can he say no to protecting family for him that is the basis of who he is so against his better judgement he agrees to help her through her heat. Arik murdered Brookes brothers, he is basically a bully who runs a gang that feel like it is their duty to kill all shifters mean as a rattle snake and mistreats, abuses omegas during their heat so her needing his help something Sebastian is hesitant about because his plate is already full running the MC, the garage and he really isn’t ready to tie himself to anyone just yet. The attraction is insane and the magnetic pull he feels towards her isn’t to be ignored and the more time he spends with her the stronger the pull between them grows but also the closer she gets to her heat and the closer the lines will be drawn will he fight to protect her, will the bully win this round, will the MC see it as a fight they want to be involved with, will Arik get what he deserves, and is there a HEA written for these two who has had to fight for the freedom to love who they want?.

This complicated and dynamic relationship brought the plot to live.
With it not only being full of action but of so many interesting characters, at times almost found it hard to want to focus on the main main story of Brooke and Bash.

LRyans has once again created another unique world-building experience that if she chooses has opportunities for future side character books (which would be awesome). There were times when I was reading this book, when I wondering how she was going to tie up everything even while still writing in such interesting and mysterious side characters.

She genius though, because while the main climax is overcome, there are lingering questions that the reader may wonder "What's going to happen with the rest of the Purists?" Usually it would drive me crazy because why introduce things into the plot of they aren't going to be resolved, but in this case i feel leaving it unquestioned is okay because of the development of the side characters. So I think some questions will be answered in the other books (fingers crossed 🤞)

Overall, really enjoyed the chemistry and the passion between these two. The connection and the lengths they will go to fight for one another and those they love.

★ “The time has come to stand up to them.” ★

—>>> “This little omega who barely knew me, who trusted me to protect her and her family simply because she remembered I had been friends with her brother, who was far too good for me, offered herself so freely in the most primal way when she was at her most vulnerable. Something inside me broke.”

Sebastian Borros was Brooke’s last hope, and she was just as desperate to get her next heat dealt with as she was to escape Arik, the leader of the Purists gang, who has set his evil eye on her and claimed her. Sebastian did not see the years pass that the geeky little sister of his best friend he once knew is now a sexy little omega, and try as he might, he could not turn her down to help her out, even though he had pushed her away until he finally realized what a predicament she was in. But once he had Brooke during her heat, he could not let her go, even though she was too good for this town, and much too good for him. She became his omega to protect during the escalating tensions between the Knights and the Purists.

Secondary characters were great and helped carry the story, standing by him instead of turning tail. A lot of groundwork was laid down on this town’s fold and setting, other Hell’s Knights members, and the intriguing always-masked Danger. Looking forward to reading more of this MC series!

This is Sebastian's and Brooke's story. I picked this book by the title and cover because I enjoy reading this author, I didn't know what to expect. This is a classic good vs. evil story with the knight riding a motorcycle instead of a horse. Brooke isn't a typical damsel, though, and wants to be the one to execute her brother's murderer.

This book is Omegaverse with wolf shifters, and the main male character is Sebastian who was Brooke's older brother's friend. Vincent, the brother, has been dead for a few years and the suspected murderer is a group called "The Purists" who believe that wolf shifters should not exist, even though they are sentient and living in this world. Now one of the leader's of the group wants Brooke during her heat, specifically to break the omega because he hated her brother. Brooke turns to Sebastian for help, and he rises to the occasion. Every pun intended, this is a spicy one with knots, and slick and shifting-- oh my.

I liked the characters as well and will definitely pick up another in the series if there is another book.

Leann Ryans brings us another amazing omegaverse tale introducing us to Brooke, a young omega who asks her late brother's best friend, Sebastian to help her through her heat. Brooke is terrified if Sebastian won't help she will be grabbed by Arik who murdered her brother and is the leader of the Purists - a group of nasty bullies who have made it their main goal in life to rid the planet of all shifters. He's brutal and has no consideration for the omegas he torments during their heat.
But will Sebastian agree? He hasn't had any contact with his friend's family since the murder and doesn't want to be tied to anyone. He's busy overseeing the Hell's Knights - a motorcycle group as well as working the garage his best friend was going to partner him in.
The events that follow make for one amazing story and strengthens my view that any book with Leann Ryans' name on the cover is guaranteed to be addictive.

There is a lot to like with this first book in a new series. I was especially happy with the length of the book, which allowed plenty of s ope forget character and plot development. Both of the main characters are inherently likeable and plenty of interesting secondary characters are introduced who will hopefully get their own stories at some point. The idea of the human alpha purists being enemies of the shifter alphas was a good twist and made the story exciting. The romance was great and felt genuine, with plenty of time for the characters’ feelings to develop as the book progressed. I thought the story was well written and very enjoyable and will be looking out for book two in this series.

Sebastian and Brooke's story was wild from the beginning. She is the little sister of his dead best friend, an omega, and she wants him to help her through her heat to avoid a brutal alpha who is trying to force himself on her.

Refusing at first, he finally learns the reasoning behind her asking, and decides to help, but there is no way this is just going to be through her heat.

There are feelings between the two of them, angst, suspense, fighting(not between the two mains), violence and more.

It ends on an HEA, there are spicy open door scenes, there are some triggering themes.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

I absolutely loved this book. Brooke and Sebastian were the perfect mates. Brook is not a typical omega with her bravery. Loved the end of this book with her. Sebastian has the alpha bad boy biker personality until you get to know his character. He is the one yummy alpha shifter. I can not wait to read about all of the Hell's Knights, Patch and his mysterious beast, Carl and his outgoing, fun personality, Danger and who he really is behind the mask and we can't forget Jackson and his martyr ways. This book was filled with action, shifters, omegaverse, knotty scenes that will melt your kindle and love.

Oh I really enjoyed this story. I loved Brooke and Sebastian together. They have great chemistry and personalities. The story is full of action, drama, suspense, and some sexy hot scenes. It is one that can’t be put down. I loved all the interactions with the support characters. I personally and extremely drawn to Patch and Danger. I want to more about their stories. The story is extremely well written and developed. I will say the ending came a bit quick after the big fight but it was still extremely good. I loved the descriptions as the add a fantastic element to the story. This is definitely a must read and doesn’t disappoint.

I love it when the first book in a new series sucks me in and makes me desperate to get my hands on the rest of the books. That's what this one did. Brooke and Sebastian are wonderfully complex characters and their story is so much more than just the romance. They have a history that makes the story feel deeper and more intense. The relationship between them felt believable and their interactions were wonderful. I loved the side characters to, which is one of the reasons I'm so desperate to get my hands on the remaining books. This story is perfect from beginning to end and I couldn't put it down.

It is always fun to find a book you like from an author you’ve never read before. This was a pretty good Omegaverse story with a very protective alpha. The hero is is the heroine’s dead older brother’s best friend. She turns to him when she needs someone to help her with her heat, all while protecting her from the villain. There is plenty of steamy time in this book. My gripe about the book being that the heroine is a bit meh and a little too much of a damsel in distress. Other than that, this book was pretty good. I’m looking forward to reading the other books by this author!

A motorcycle shifter hot romance

Brooke needs help of an alpha kind. She is trying to get away from a purist alpha set on owning her and her heat was coming fast. She is desperate so she turns to her dead brother's best friend leaders of the Knights, but he said no, no way, no how. Desperate times call for desperate measures like a little red dress and a bar. I loved this book. The story line was different from other shifter romances. It has hot spots and a lot of violence. There are several possible triggers. For all those who rough and tumble stories you're going to love this!

Protecting Brooke . . .

Sebastian, an Alpha wolf shifter, was Brooke’s brother’s best friend. He is leader of the Hell's Knights MC. Brooke is desperate for help. A bullying alpha, Arik, who killed her brother is determined to claim her for his own, and she is close to going into her heat. She wants to avoid him no matter what. At first, Sebastian is hesitant to help because it could put his MC in a bad situation or an all-out war. Can her pleas change his mind? Will he help get her out of this situation? Will he perhaps want her as his own mate?

This is a great start to a new series! Brooke, an Omega, has to find an Alpha for her upcoming heat. The one who wants her is evil, is a Purist and killed her brother. She knows she will not be alive if that evil Alpha gets her. So Brook goes to the only man (wolf shifter) who she thinks can save her, Sebastian. Sebastian was her brother's friend while they were growing up. Sebastian does all he can to save Brooke and her parents from the evil Alpha. This book has action, with lots of steamy romance and a happy ending.

I love how this author writes! She can always bring a sorry to life and she knocked it out of the park with this one! I swear her books get better and better! Sebastian and Brooke were such a great couple. Brooke was such a strong character and Sebastian just couldn't stay away from her.

I loved that this book has both shifters and regulars in this Omegaverse. It made for an interesting storyline. I'm so excited to read more from this world! I hope it is either Patch or Jackson next!

Brilliant read. Loved reading about the Knights..
Brooke is an omega, knowing her heat is approaching and she just wants to get through it. but Arik is lurking, hunting her intending to have her for her heat. But not only that he wants her for far more, but Arik is not all he seems, especially when Brooke knows that he is her brothers killer. She needs to return to her past and find the one that could help her through this, another Alpha, her brothers best friend.
brilliant read.

I thought that this was a very intriguing read. The story grabbed and held my attention well. I really liked Brooke and Sebastion. Their chemistry was undeniable and the whole brother's best friend trope is one of my favorites. The drama is juicy, the tension thick and the emotions intense and the heat hot. A very enjoyable read and a solid start for this series. I am independently posting an impartial review.

Tempting A Knight is a MC and omegaverse book, the first in the series Hell’s Knight MC. I really liked Leann Ryans world where alphas can be either humans or shifters. The book follows Brooke, an omega who’s exposed by an Alpha from the Purist group. A group of human alphas with Maffia vibes who’re working towards a world without shifters.
Brooke needs help and contact an old friend of her brother, Sebastian, a shifter Alpha. Together they work against the Purist while falling in love.

A happy joining for Sebastian and Brooke

This is book one in this MC shifter series. I enjoyed reading this book but was surprised by the lead characters as they were reckless at times against a serious enemy when they could have been more thoughtful about their decisions. I did like Brooke reaching out to Sebastian for help. Brooke is an omega and needs an Alpha for her upcoming heat. Their journey begins there . . . . Read On!

When I first heard the title, for some reason I thought it might be a historical. But hey, I am not mad or disappointed as this is an author who has yet to disappoint me. It is a little different as it includes humans and shifters ABO but I think it makes the plot a lot more interesting and intense. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

MC's and Shifters and Alphas, Oh My!

Leann Ryan's first shifter book is awesome! I have loved all her Omega books and this one is a great addition. I can't wait for the next one. My vote is for Patch to be next.
