I can tell that the author of this book has not ever received a call from law enforcement asking them to come and identify a body at the home of a close relative. If she had, she might realise that it’s beyond shocking, beyond devastating, and that the moment the phone rang was definitively the last moment that the person can point to as the end of their old life, their life before.

A woman walks into her father’s business to meet him for dinner and finds out that he’s been violently murdered when she discovers his dead body. The very first thing that comes to mind as she is sitting with the corpse of her murdered father, crying, is that the two male employees who walk in are super hot and she wants to have sex with them. For the remainder of the book, Sarah aka Sadie (why didn’t the author just name her Sadie?) giggles giddily over how sexy the guys are and how horny they make her feel. Occasionally she gets falling down drunk and talks about how much she wants to have sex with the two men. The murder of her only living relative takes a backseat to her sexual fantasies.

I’m not sure why the author decided to make a murder mystery part of the exposition. None of the characters seem upset about the murder and have little interest in solving it. I think it would have been more honest of the author to label the short story “p*rn without plot”.

sadie is so stupid and insufferable. she is described as a super smart lawyer but it takes her like 20 minutes to understand very basic concepts

my fav part was when Fridge and Rogan both touched her at the same time in the middle of the street and she had an orgasm so strong it brought her to her knees

read with my besties for our book club 🫶🏻

It started out good, but when Sadie got angry because her Fated Mates didn't want her I got annoyed with her "all-about-me attitude". She didn't even want them to begin with. When her powers told her they were her Fated Mates and they said 'no thank you', she became pissing saying there was no one better than her. Ah, hello your father just died and it's not the right time for this, maybe that is why they are passing! She then uses guilt and bullying to get her way. I hate girls like her.
She can't understand why her mates would be reluctant to be with her. Well, maybe it's not all about you, Sadie. Nope, she can't have that, so she demand to know everything in their pasts, every painful secret whether they want to share our not. She wants all of the men's secrets but won't trust them enough with her own. Hypocrisy-much. I usually like TB's stuff but I won't be reading the rest of this story to see how the rest of the series ends. Sadie makes me think of mean girls in high school all over again. I get goosebumps just thinking about it and not in a good way.

1 down 1 to go LOL

Okay for 1 it is calling reverse Harem I don't see how consider there is little 2 guys and 1 girl. That's threesome. Anyway I guess I'm gonna see if I like the next book or not. We'll see. I hope that it's better than this book. And I kind of wanna see this dragon actually except his face LOL.

This book was so painful. The same plot was explained 50 times throughout this whole book. Sadie would know everything about a plot point and then a few pages later have to have someone explain it to her multiple times in slightly different ways.

I mostly enjoyed this, which is why I've left the rating at 3 stars despite my criticisms below.

The setting of this world is very vague. An urban fantasy feel but no specifics regarding shared history or recognisable markers (aside from Uber Eats lol).
The heroine was fine, not too ditzy, although she was occasionally very naive regarding the darker elements of the city she lived in and her father's work.
I didn't like that most of the relationship focus was on her dragon mate Fridge. It's one of my pet peeves with reverse harem when one or more of the mates gets sidelined while others get all the attention. You'd expect a book called Wolf Mated to be all about her relationship with the wolf lover, but the author completely skipped any sort of relationship-building with Rogan in favour of an instalove scenario. In the end, Rogan gets treated like some kind of buffer between her and the one she really wants (Fridge) who has issues and doesn't want her back.
Some reviewers mentioned that Sadie was self-absorbed and I think that comes across most in her dealing with Rogan. It doesn't bode well for part two, which is called Dragon Mated, so will likely be more of the same. Hopefully a new mate will be introduced and will shove Fridge to the backseat.

I'm not sure what I read just now.
I needed a book with a green cover for a challenge. I read the sample chapter for this one, and it seemed interesting.
It's a shame that everything after that just went downhill. There was absolutely minimal worldbuilding, no character development whatsoever, and a nonexistent plot.
I mean, her father was murdered, she has access to the best bounty hunters... and does nothing? It took her two days to call the lawyer, never mind even thinking about the funeral, etc. He was her best friend, the person who taught her how to defend and fight.. and she moved on like it was nothing.
Nope. The only things on the pages (well, apart from the occasional breakdown) were her two mates, her insta-lust/insta 'I want to get mated', and her feeling rejected when one of the guys doesn't want to move so quickly. Yeah, just no.
Shame.

So much turmoil, pain, grief. A lot on her mind. I am surprised Sadie has not gone down to the police station and hurt some people. Exciting story. The ending I do not like, I hate cliffhangers. At least Sadie has Rogan. Good story and the plot I don't know yet, we will see. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I’m not sure how I’m feeling about this book or the series. This left off as a “Part 1” and I would have to really agree with that. Too much was left unsaid or unresolved. There are too many things happening. It makes the plot too crowded and it doesn’t help when the characters, especially our FMC, are one-dimensional and dull.

Sadie is a lawyer and her father runs a super successful bounty hunter business. They have a very loving and supportive relationship, but all that is ripped away when she discovers his cold, dead body. He’s been murdered and the bounty hunter business has fallen into her lap. With more responsibilities than ever and two shifters who refuse to leave her side, Sadie is struggling under the weight of grief and vengeance to catch her father’s killer.

Now, despite the summary making it seem like Sadie doesn’t want or have the time for her fated mates... It’s all she seems to care about for the entirety of this book. She’s obviously affected by her father’s murder, but can’t stop herself from being angsty and broody about her fated mates and their lack of reciprocation of the bond they share. It was really hard for me to like her. In fact, I really dislike her as a FMC. She’s self centered and selfish. Sadie doesn’t take things from any other person’s perspective. She’s childish and doesn’t know how to cope with her emotions well, either screaming in frustration *literally* multiple times or getting drunk to avoid feeling anything at all. The fact that she expects her men to open up to her, but doesn’t trust them with her secrets as well speaks volumes of her as a character.

The guys aren’t much better but at least they are compared to Sadie. Rogan is the sweet and sexy wolf shifter who always has Sadie’s side and wants to help Fridge get the connection he deserves. Fridge wants to avoid the fated mates connection so that he and his partner don’t suffer the same horrible relationship his parents had. I feel like Fridge was the most dimensional character, and even then, I found him hard to like.

The mystery with her father’s death has gotten basically nowhere and her running a business seems unlikely at this point with how ill prepared she is.

I’m going to read the second book in hopes that it gets better, because I still like the promise and potential this series overall has despite me not liking certain things. I’m hoping the characters develop a little more and the addition of this new vampire assassin mate will spice things up in terms of romantic and plot development.

Sadie is an attorney & daughter of a bad ass bounty hunter. When she comes to pick up her father for dinner, she finds him drained of blood dead in his shop. Two of his top hunters, Rogan-a wolf shifter & Fridge-a dragon shifter, find them. After they meet with the cops, they take her home only to find their apartment trashed. She knows they are her fated mates, but they both are resistant to accept it. She has to decide if she is going take over running her dad's bounty hunter business, but she refuses to accept the info she's getting from the cops as she knows the cops & coroner have been bought by the same vampires who killed her father. She just has to find out what they want.

This one ends on a cliffhanger. I did enjoy the story, but I didn't connect with Sadie like I wanted to. She's narcissistic, and she cries a lot. Not saying she shouldn't cry since she is the one that found her dead father. I'm hoping that the 2nd book in this series will have me connecting better with Sadie & her mates.

The story has potential to be a good series, but there are a lot of plot holes and flaws in the overall character development. I did like it enough to pick up book 2, to see where it leads to. There isn't much world building, kinda sounded like it might be dystopian or something, but never really got a feel for the world. The 3 main characters are a bit flat, we get a lot of info about them, but it doesn't translate to them being more rounded out (not flat). I felt that Sadie/Sarah was not a believable character. She's supposed to be some hotshot lawyer, but is totally naïve about the world she lives in. The concept that she can fight supposedly so good, is also not believable. A lot of things are left off, that shouldn't be, and some things are added that don't move the story forward or actually have purpose.

Just a quick review but I will disclaim that while the three star rating is for this first book (Wolf Mated)—I am going to be talk in about the entire series in this review, spoiler free or as much as possible.

Did I like this first book? Simply put, yes. The book sparked the feeling of potential for the series but than unfortunately with each progressing book it did not deliver overall, at least for what I prefer as far as series and stories go.

What I liked:
-In the first book, there were things I liked about the characters…however that dwindles greatly the further we get into the series.

-There is a plot beyond the spice and relationships

-The first book was on special as free on many platforms summer of 2022 (so that was nice to give people an opportunity to try out the series).

-I loved the family element (both romantic and family of origin/nuclear). This goes for whole series

What are a few of the things I did not like:

-The first book was a page turner and was exciting while well paced. Unfortunately none of these things continue with the rest of the series for me.

-Sadie felt progressively more 1 dimensional end of book 2/beginning book 3, narrow minded, and eventually seems to lose all common sense…I’m looking at you book 3. The idiotic things she would say and want to impulsively do by book 3 had me wanting to DNF this book series but I forged ahead.

-I was highly annoyed that once the M/M aspect was included there seemed to really be no M/F/M interaction and overall it felt as if Sadie was an afterthought as opposed to equally important. The MM relationship was given a lot of screen time in this story for the reader to witness development and degree of intensity for the feeling of love/desire from each character—which as a relationship in itself was lovely and given the attention I would have liked to see all members and connections within the polyamorous/HR/family relationship… This was the mail in the coffin to me. I wanted a RH, not two different relationships—which is what it ended up feeling like.

-The spice ain’t it. Again, it seemed promising in Wolf Mated and Dragon Mated probably has what I believe is by far the best spicy scene (looking at you Dragon mate), but that’s really the only spicy scene that I believe was well written—I was in the story instead of awkwardly feeling pulled out of it. The spice overall in the series was lacking in frequency, duration, passion and honestly genuine connection between the characters.

-There were too many grammatical errors in book 2 and 3 for me to be happy that I paid for them, and I did pay for them.

Would I recommend this book? Not to many people because I was dissatisfied with the series overall. How we I would recommend it to people who wanted elements the book offers that may be difficult to find simultaneously occurring in other series— ✔️ Plot before spice ✔️Shifter/fantasy/witch/paranormal romance ✔️Politics/power dynamics in society ✔️Theme of grief ✔️HEA ✔️Want short and infrequent spice ✔️M/M interactions have as much if not more importance within a 4 person relationship than M/F/M ✔️Firsr book in series is currently free (July 2022) and rest of series appears to be discounted.

Note: This is really a "Part 1" for the series. There is a cliffhanger ending.

I'm not really liking Sadie. She coming across as more than a bit selfish/self-centered. I'm kind of wishing we were getting a mixed POV so we could get the guys perspective in this story, because with only hers, I'm finding her obnoxious. She knows almost nothing about Rogan and Fridge, but that she senses they are her "Fated Mates". But she gets upset that Fridge not only says he doesn't believe in fated mates, but that he is resistant to claim her. It didn't occur to her that maybe he had his own reasons, just an instant how dare he reject me attitude. Her father had just died, so I can give her a slight pass for being emotional, but she keeps pushing at him even after she knows why he's resistant. She intentionally tries to make him jealous. Also, she's keeping secrets from her mates, but seems to want them to just accept her. The guys are interesting, but I really wish we got more about them (they clearly have a long history between them that I'm hoping we'll learn more about). Though I'm having a really hard time getting past the name "Fridge", I keep having to stop myself from rolling my eyes when I read it. He has a perfectly decent name (and no clue why he hates it). Rogan needs a bit more depth, he's coming across as a bit of a pushover at this point (and I don't think that was the intention.

The world-building is intriguing. I know there is more to come in the next few books, but the basis is there for something a bit different than the norm.

I decided to make one post for my review of all three books because I feel like these books should have been one thick novel instead of a trilogy.

•{1}Wolf Mate~3⭐️1🌶
•{2}Dragon Mated~3⭐️2🌶
•{3}Vampire Mated ~3⭐️1🌶
All written by Tamsin Baker and Amelia Shaw

Did I like this first book? Simply put, yes. The first book was a page turner and was exciting while well paced. The book sparked the feeling of potential for the series, but unfortunately, with each progressing book, it did not deliver overall.

It’s an interesting thing… Having a book about fated mates and the main female character willing to sacrifice all of them in order for her to essentially have her way.
Sadie felt progressively more dimensional in book 1. In book 2, she was narrow-minded. And eventually seems to lose all common sense... I'm looking at you book 3. The idiotic things she would say and want to impulsively do by book 3 had me wanting to DNF this book series, but I forged ahead.

Sadies men, one of whom already was near death, and the other almost died trying to save him. It was like Sadie didn't even care about the attack. For someone who professes to care deeply for these men, Sadie is not very concerned about their safety. She would sacrifice her entire world all in the name of people she doesn’t know. I’m all for a rescue plot because leaving people to die in such a slow brutal antagonizing way isn’t my style…but the single mindedness of Sadie is jarring, and truthfully it makes her unlikeable. This whole trilogy just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Sadie's whole world is about to change when she finds her father dead at his business. She knows that a vampire has killed him. Two guys come in with her over his body. She explains who she is and what is wrong. They call the police to come due to the murder, they ask question her. The two guys introduce themselves, Rogan and Fridge. She feels very comfortable around them, she keeps getting these feelings. She doesn't want to accept what her body is telling her. So Sadie realizes that both of these guys are her mates, she found them on the day her father died.
They walk her home and to find out someone broke in. They decide to stay with her. She fully accepts the bond and tells they guys. Fridge doesn't take to that at all. Rogan is more accepting due his type of shifter. She tries to talk to Fridge about it, but he ends up rejecting it. She wants his to accept her as his mate, he is not there.
Sadie realizes that the police is not going to look in the murder, that she will. The three of them will try to find out who and why. They also have to figure out what her father had that the vampires will not stop. Sadie's learns more about her father, her family and everything.

This was an interesting story, love the little twists of the story. I feel some of the story was rushed some. I did enjoy the book, there is something for everyone.

(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I want to change my scoring by 0.50 or more of a star. -- I tend not to read reviews until after I read a book, so I go in with an open mind.)

Just found out this author is also Amelia and Maggie Shaw, so checked to see if I owned any under this name and found I do. I'd flagged this book as 1 star but for some reason didn't post on here at the time.

I have no clue what I disliked about this book and won't be re-reading it to give a better review, sorry!

First time read the author's work?: No (Read under her Amelia Shaw alias)

Will you be reading more?: Possibly of her other books.

Would you recommend?: Not this book.

------------
How I rate Stars: 5* = I loved (must read all I can find by the author)
4* = I really enjoyed (got to read all the series and try other books by the author).
3* = I enjoyed (I will continue to read the series)
or
3* = Good book just not my thing (I realised I don't like the genre or picked up a kids book to review in error.)

All of the above scores means I would recommend them!
-
2* = it was okay (I might give the next book in the series a try, to see if that was better IMHO.)
1* = Disliked

Note: adding these basic 'reviews' after finding out that some people see the stars differently than I do - hoping this clarifies how I feel about the book. :-)

What an interesting story line for this series. I wasn't sure what was going to happen with this book. It started off describing the characters and what they do. So we get to know a little about Sadie aka Sarah (which kid of through me off). I would really like to know the story about why she goes by two different names. One day her world goes upside down. She has to deal with the loss of her father and try to pick up the pieces. So remember when I said that we will read about the characters well one of the things we learn is the Sadie can take care of herself. Her daddy trained her well. She needs help with his business and recruits Fridge and Rogan. She does realize that these two men are her fated mates. With her trying to figure out what happened to her father and staying alive. She is also trying to see where her relationships go with Fridge and Rogan. Fridge is not making it easy and Rogan just wants to make her happy. Will she be able to get to the bottom of her fathers death. Will the guys be there for her and help her as well or leave? Hopefully we will find out more in the next book.

Spice level: 2/5

A very interesting spin on the fated mates, although the balance between becoming a triad and the murder mystery plot seems to constantly sway from chapter to chapter. There is a strange jumping around between both the perspectives and the character initiatives so it pulls a little away from the overall story.

There are sprinklings of spice throughout the story, but very limited actual scenes. The plot of the murder mystery is by far the strongest of the two (murder vs mates), and held my attention for the entire read.

I love how bad-ass Sadie is, she plays both the damsel in distress and the tough-chick persona really well. The way that she develops her character within her new role in her fathers business is really good, although her perspective of the soulmates is very much a fairy-tale acceptance.

I am definitely interested in seeing what happens next in the series, less so for the soulmates, more for the murder mystery. All in all, I'm basing my rating off of the mystery plot rather than the soulmates, as I found that to be the far more intriguing of the two.

Sadie is a lawyer her father a half human shifter runs a bounty operation and something he was working on some case got him murdered. And the cops and a coroner may have all been payed off by the killers Vampires and the only people she can trust are her fathers two top hunters Rogan the wolf shifter and Fridge the Dragon. But thats not her only worry she has yo figure out who killed her father and if she has what it takes to run her fathers business oh and shes discovered that she has two mates timing couldn't be worse. This was and interesting read with a cliffhanger. I'm still trying to decide what I think about the characters Sadie seems nieve about things going on around her even though she's supposed to be a tough girl then she cries allot it was to much she needs to toughen up and write now im only liking one of her mates the wolf Rogan and whats wrong with Fridges real name Travis.

This is the first book in a new series and so contains a lot of world-building. I like the world, the set-up, and the mystery, but I have to say that I don't like Sarah/Sadie very much. She is very selfish/self-centered and doesn't seem to care about the wishes and feelings of her fated mates, the two shifters who were her father's bounty hunters. I give her allowance, because her father was just killed, but still...really? This book ends on a cliffhanger, but I knew that going in from the Amazon description, so I accept that without complaint. There are some twists and surprises, secrets, and steamy sexual thoughts, and a lot of unanswered questions. Although I don't like Sadie, I am intrigued by the story, so I will continue with the next book and hope for some personal growth from the heroine.

Part one of Wolf Mated is absolutely AMAZING!!

I admit I was a tad bit skeptical about getting this book but only because I don't like serials. In fact, I HATE serials! But every time I passed this book, it was taunting me, telling me I wouldn't dare grab it and give it a chance so I said the hell with it and did just that.

Wolf Mated is excellently written, with a great set of characters that you can't help but get lost in their lives. Ms. Baker did a great job bringing each one to life, and by the end of the book you are feeling as if they are your friends and family, not just characters on a page.

Wolf Mated is the first book I have read by Ms. Baker, and I am anxiously looking forward to part two of this serial. If you have not read this book, I HIGHLY suggest that you give it chance. You won't be sorry.

Our heroine is actually rather skilled to seek out her father's assassin, so she is a bit skeptical about our two heroes who insist on helping.

This is book one of the series.

This is an urban fantasy series with witches, vampires and shifters. The story is well written and easy to read, but with a complex setting that has a lot going on. The characters are also well developed and provide a unique blend that makes this really interesting really quickly. As this is a first book in the series, I quite enjoyed getting to know both the characters and the setting as part of this fast paced plot. No rest for the weary here as the story kept my attention right up to the end. Overall, an excellent start to a series and I look forward to the next book.

Highly recommended.

An interesting story set in a world where vampires run just about everything and nothing is as it seems as Sadie quickly learns. When Sadie's dad is murdered, she leaves her job as a lawyer and enters her dad's world of bounty hunting. Aided in her mission to find the killer by a wolf shifter and dragon shifter, Sadie must deal with her emotions while discovering secrets about not only her dad's business and the world she lives in, but about herself too. To further complicate matter, both shifters just so happen to be her fated mates. But while she's thrilled with this turn in events, the guys are a little less sure. Plenty of action and emotion in this story as it sets up what's to come in the rest of the series.
