The recipes in this book are fairly simple with step by step directions. The recipes are items that both children and adults would enjoy. The beginning of the book has very decent pictures and descriptions of the different cooking tools and methods for novices to the kitchen. Very important - the math problems do not need to be solved to make the recipe. The math problems in this book are problems that middle school kids should be able to do if they really enjoy math and don't mind the extra math "homework".
