Full of colour and jolly pics by Robert Ayton! Love the medieval court illustration, which shows that nutty-as-a-fruitcake fashions have always been around... (see Lord of the Manor's outrageous footwear!), and the next page's picture featuring the Common People: who knew that the liripipe (seen in many a Robin Hood film) served the useful purpose of wrapping round the neck on a cold day? Always full of charming detail - see the thief being marched off on P47 by a copper, who's nabbed him, presumably, red-handed, at the trooping of the colours...
