This is an Industry Standard book that should be in the libraries of ALL Professional Landscape Architects!

I've been in the Profession for quite some time, and I still sometimes refer back to this book now and then. It's an essential book in all Professional Landscape Architects' libraries.

More times than not when I look something up in the index, the pages it navigates me to are completely unrelated. This is a reference textbook!! Being able to properly use the index is the main point! Two stars though bc there is good, thorough information in there it is just difficult to read

Big and expensive and doesn't get used all that often, but when I do I'm sure glad I have it on the shelf.

This is a tricky one to rate... The wealth of knowledge in various sections of the book especially the grading portion is extremely valulable. However, it is a dense and sluggesih read, yes valuable for an index reference but was ever so painful to read the entire 900 pages

Some of the valuable information to find, would rate the book 4 stars.

Honest rating for personal readilbility,2.0 stars .

If you can find this book at the libary and copy what you need on hand, I would recomend thta versus buying a copy. It is an expensive book and wish I had not bought it for my book collection. Not because it is in anyway a bad book, but the only sections that I will use for a landscape design in smaller to medium residential projects is not much. This book is perfectly curtail to larger commercial or governmental size projects.

This book reminded me that books are essential and no e-book can ever replace a book with an Author who put his heart into his work. Mr. Dines had the expertise and dedication to provide the highest quality information with a original idea was the basis for the publication. No blogs, articles, or websites will ever have the attention to ensure every aspect is accurate and insightful.
The amount of detail and passion is evident in his writing because a fellow LA was speaking directly to me. The information was insightful and the originality of the work really was inspiring. In one word this book was Inspiring.
