Good insights that could be helpful for a younger audience - a great reminder nonetheless.

Pleasantly surprised by the amount of actionable insights and tips as well as the exercises helping me put my journey in perspective.
However it can feel repetitive, it would have benefitted by being shorter and having less "girlbossy fluff". Also, like many other self-help book, there is this inherent bias towards 'entrepreneurs' and this 'working for a purpose' rhetoric which in the real-world wouldn't make to much sense, everyone can't be passionate about their jobs and that's fine.
But I take the monthly wins tracker with me, which is an amazing boost for the mood.
Overall, I'm still glad that I bought it, and I can see how valuable it could be for someone younger than me.

Power circles? CAKI mantra? I found the lexicon too cliche.

This book reads like an AI LLM summary of popular self-development books by the likes of Emma Gannon or Grace Beverley, with lots of anecdotes from friends and clients in the same millennial age bracket.

A little too young / basic for me, personally.

This was a really interesting book, with tons of information.
I enjoyed it and got something from it, but there was a lot I wasn't keen on either.
I felt quite overwhelmed at times as it was very dense and full on. Also there was a lot of waffle in here - I would of liked this book to have been 100 pages shorter and just stuck with the main points.

Also there was a lot in here about Ogunlesi herself - I think it was important to hear her perspective, but there was a lot that wasn't relevant and at times it didn't feel particularly relevant.

Overall I did get something from it, but there also would have been ways I would have enjoyed it more.

I'm fortunate that I work in an environment where I'm exposed on a daily basis to the topics mentioned in this book so I may not have gotten many of the "ah hah" moments other people may get from reading this.

A few examples of topics mentioned are:
- imposter syndrome
- fixed mindset vs growth mindset
- practicing gratitude
- mindfulness meditation
- perfection vs procrastination

The author does what she states from the start. She's giving us the tools needed, however, we need to put those tools into practice.
This is by no means an overnight "fix". In my experience, these mindset shifts takes daily practice and can take months to achieve. This is a book you can continuously refer back to.

I thought it was a great value add for the author to include practical exercises to do as you go through the book. It makes you actually apply what she's talking you through which gives you a deeper level of appreciation and understanding. I also loved the CAKI Mantras in each section.

I'd recommend this not only to young people starting out their careers, but to those who are feeling a little stuck or in a funk. I wouldn't limit this to only women.

Thank you to Jonathan Ball Publishers for a #gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

When I say that this book has started me on a journey to change my life, I mean it.

They analogies Tiwa uses to help us see the wisdom in her mantras makes it so relatable. It was a wake up call to how much I needed to take control of my life.

I realised through the exercises in this book, that I forgotten about all the things I used to love doing that are no longer in my life in any way. Things like, performing, singing, acting, dancing, creating, horse riding, creating, writing.

I had fallen into a monotonous routine, working 8-4, gym three times a week and read the books I need to read for deadlines. So through these teachings and mantras, I decided to take action and I am slowly trying to change my life and deal with my inner mean girl.

Thank you Tiwa, for helping me see that this year is the time to work on self love and be Confident and Killing It.

I have to say I did relate to a lot of the topics in this book. I have certainly dealt with imposter syndrome more than I would care to. This book was insightful on a range of topics but it does feel dense at times. I think I would prefer it to be more simplified.

I feel this is a good starting point to help open your mind to different ways of thinking but it's by no means a quick fix. An interesting read.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Confident and Killing It is the BEST personal development book I have read to date. Seriously, I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I was introduced to Tiwalola through her podcast, where she shares great insights on confidence. But this book? This book took things to a whole different level. Pretty sure I will read this one again because there is SO MUCH gold in here.
This book is definitely worth the read. Just make sure you have a fresh highlighter and some flags to mark pages. You will need them!

"Confident and killing it" is a modern self-help book that has actonable steps to improve women's life and experience in our modern day society. First of, the author has a very distinct and personal voice which is reffreshing.
The book is visualy interesting; not too much text, and almost written in the format of a guide. This makes it easy to digest, and interactive for the reader which I enjoyed a lot.
It circulates around the theme of building confidence as a woman, and focuses on the phenomenas of people pleasing and imposter syndrome, which unfortunately affect many women in society including me. She did a good job describing these issues, and giving actionable steps to solutions that can build personal confidence.
I think it's a very important book, because it's very ingrained in our society and even the up bringing of some girls that women can't take the lead, be too loud and demand respect and I absolutely loved that this explored how chalenging the idea of a modern feminitiy is an inner joruney that can be reached through personal development.
Something I wish this book touched more on, is how the conditioning of the traditional feminity, is very present in other women, and can be used to hold other people down through vocabulary and the old standards and expectatoins of the outdated. Such as slut-shaming, or the idea of "pick-me-girl" which is a new term that was created in our digittal age.
Overall a very interesting, and important read that inspired me to change some of my behaviours for my own betterment.

Lots of great nuggets in this book. So many take away points needed for self growth. My favourite piece was, ‘You are the author of your story, you write the rules of how your life plays out’. This is just one example of how Tiwa gets you thinking and motivated to own your narrative.

Will be using some of the tools to help my colleagues at work identify their strengths, passions and values

I discovered this book after attending a brilliant NHS webinar with Tiwa about celebrating success. She had so much energy and was super engaging - things she's carried through to this audiobook. The book was empowering and helped change my perspective on a lot of things - including not being afraid of failure and the importance of setting boundaries.

I already feel confident in myself and my interests internally, so I had already clear answers for the suggested questions. Some chapters were still useful to consider. It could be useful for some people. The explanations were well organised and questions were still good.

Such a positive and uplifting book. Wish I’d read it in my early twenties. Even later in my career there are useful reminders and gems throughout. Quick, easy read
