A surreal western adventure told in an experimental narrative style that will have you re-reading it many times over. We follow the singular story of RabbitHead and her faithful steed, Horsey, though many harrowing experiences, only to have the story branch off into different directions and run simultaneously to each other, introducing a plethora of characters, some goofy, some deadly serious. At the end, the storylines collide and the comic comes full circle, to end where it begins
I didn't find the story very interesting, but it was very formally exciting! However, I feel like the format could have been used in a more interesting way, e.g. if more of the storylines were interrelated in better ways. Some of them did succeed in that but I felt like too many were just zooming in/out on a detail/things happening alongside each other without a more meaningful connection.
i picked this comic book up because the title and cover looked cute, but it wasn't as cute a story as i was expecting. the layout with different characters branching out into their own series of panels was interesting. it's pretty short and has no words, so i'm not sure it should count as a book, really.
I really love the art in this comic! I liked the fact it was dark yet still had some cute aspects. There were no words, but the story that was told didn’t need them. I loved the flow of the story and how it branched out into different panels, It’s something I haven’t seen before and I really enjoyed it!
Well, that went to some unexpectedly grim places. The art style is lovely, the parallel storytelling is a neat trick, but ouch all the same. Probably will not ever reread (uh, revisit — there's no words).
