❥ 𝑫𝒆𝒍 𝜗𝜚˚⋆ She was likeable and adapts quickly to her new situation with Rocco. I liked her kinda awkward character.
❥ 𝑹𝒐𝒄𝒄𝒐 ࣪⋆✮ He is sweet, caring and funny. His wolf is lovely towards Del and I liked wolf-Rocco and human-Rocco equally.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 This was another enjoyable read in this series. For me it will be the last book I will read in this series cause they all follow the same blue print and it get‘s boring quickly. The story’s are slightly different but overall all the same. Del and Rocco are cute and I really liked them together. It was fun to read about the time Del spends with wolf-Rocco. Both have their problems but they try to communicate open and find solutions. Overall this was a quick and entertaining werewolf romance.
My favorite characters so far, but the overall plot wasn't all that captivating. I like that the FMC was much more engaged with the pack and other characters than in previous books.
Going to take a break for a darker book, then will come back to this series.
I really enjoyed this book. I hadn’t read the previous books on the series, and had no trouble picking up the story in book three. I loved that there wasn’t a whole ‘push me, pull me’ scenario. This book has an interesting take on the shifter mate lore and I found it interesting. The characters are well rounded and the storyline moves along at a great pace.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down. Del is learning (quickly) what it means to be a werewolf's mate and shows real care and concern for her new "instant-husband". Rocco as the wolf is lovely towards her, if a bit cheeky, and I loved reading how their love grows. This is the first one I've read in the series and I will definitely be reading more of them.

3.5 ⭐️ A bit boring, I wish they talked less about the h's messy life and had more time to see the MCs bond. Really slow burn, they don't get officially together until the end of the book. I'm really curious about his brother. We only have the H's POV during the epilogue.
Safety: -both virgins -no drama with om/ow -no cheating -I prefer epilogues further down the future so I wasn't really happy
This is the third book of the Mate Hunt series, and I personally DO NOT CONSIDER this to be a STAND-ALONE read. I HIGHLY recommend these be read in series order, as they contain multiple reoccurring characters, consecutive timelines (begins as soon as the previous one ended), and interwoven themes so a lot of details that occurred previously would be lost, as they cannot be adequately explained within another story.
— If you have not read any of the stories in this series, the following will contain spoilers, but hopefully only enough to adequately explain my opinions, questions, etc. about the story. —
Lola Glass created an unique origin story for werewolves that resulted in two separate beings in a shared body. When the wolf is in charge the human can see what is happening, but cannot communicate, or control, and the animal acts on instinct. Because of how werewolves evolved, only males are born, so when the wolf finds its mate, the reaction is immediate and that starts a 3 phase ritual: Hunt, Chase and Climax. This is what necessitates the kidnapping of the human female for most of them, as the wolf will not shift back until he marks his chosen mate.
⛔️ There are a couple of potential triggers for sensitive readers, such as adult language, semi-steamy intimate scenes, mental health challenges of depression, anxiety, etc., and (may be perceived) violence with threats due to jealousy, scuffle between friends/pack mates, etc. There is also references to the potential 💔 all werewolves fear in regards to mates.
For a PNR especially, I consider these to be really clean. There isn’t any fighting or killing between packs — they don’t even have pack names, just references to ‘packs’ formed by age within the group at large — the intimate scenes aren’t very detailed, although there are a few more in this story than the previous, and we do have a Climax phase, which was also missing in the previous. Still want more details and descriptions of the characters and story universe, but overall, I am continuing to enjoy my visits to Moon River.
Similar to the second story, Lola changed up the 3 phase ritual with Del’s and Rocco’s story, by not having her ’kidnapped’. This combined with the kooky, quirky, and neurotic nature of Del, gives the story a ‘lighter’ feel, especially when compared to other shifter PNR stories I have read.
Maybe it is because of the situation with Rocco’s brother, but his human self’s sorrow and depression made it more difficult for the chemistry to be demonstrated in the beginning imo. It also led to some misunderstandings on Del’s part, as she wasn’t aware of what had occurred before they met.
I am fortunate that I visualize a story as I read it, so the more details it contains the better. Errors, especially grammatical, interrupt that visual for me so that is why I mention issues. There are multiple punctuation issues, mainly with commas. I didn’t document all of them (just the ones that annoyed me the most tbh). I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.
A little recap of the story … This begins when Del is on her way to the picnic she was invited to by Tea and Ebony. She doesn’t make friends easily (or at all), thanks to her self-described weirdness and social anxiety. Del thinks she will be okay though because she knows them from being their Resident Advisor (RA) when they lived in the dorms, plus it is free food. Who knows when the chance for a decent meal will happen after she has to vacate her room after she graduates tomorrow.
Del still isn’t sure where she will go. The plan is to drive until her POS car goes caput, hope she can get a job quickly, and then make enough to survive. The original plan had been to get a degree in something stable iso music. Her professor convinced her to follow her passion and said he would help her get a job with a studio when finished. Well he lied and now she was even more on her own, with a degree in music and no place to go since her parents disowned her for selling out and joining the ‘establishment’.
Del arrives at their row of townhomes and is met by Ebony. They cut through Ebony’s home and it was decorated very tastefully and classy. It would make Del very uncomfortable and she would run out screaming like her hair was on fire, but it reflects Ebony. They go out to the back and there are quite a few very large, tall and gorgeous men. Del decides to fall back on joking to hide how anxious it all makes her.
Tea joins them and makes sure Del is introduced to everyone. Then Tea points out the lone male sitting on a plastic picnic table, staring the other direction. Tea tells Del his name is Rocco and he is the best history teacher. He turns around and looks right past Del, but he takes her breath away.
Rocco is the best looking man she has ever seen, but it is apparent he hasn’t been sleeping well, or taking care of himself. His 👀 look lifeless until his gaze meets hers, then they turn red and he says ‘Mate’.
Trapped with the Werewolf is the third installment in the Mate Hunt series written by Lola Glass. This book is an exciting fated-mate standalone that has a fresh and unique twist in the genre of werewolf shifters. The plot was solid and intriguing, the characters were well developed, and the romance was a slow-to-medium burn with sprinkles of steamy scenes.
Madeline “Del” or “Mads” Wooley recently graduated college with a degree in music. She’s a take-charge heroine that is sweet, kind, and funny. She is down on her luck with an unreliable car, dwindling funds, and no promise of a career (or even just a job). Del is invited by her friends to a barbecue gathering and accepting the invitation changes the trajectory of her future. She comes face-to-face with her fated mate, Rocco, who happens to be a werewolf. The change is triggered for Rocco and he transforms into his wolf form. Will their wolves (and human sides) accept each other?
I appreciated that Del was reluctant to make rash life-long decisions but accepting of what life has thrown her way. It was refreshing to have a heroine that used her brain and heart to ensure she was on the right path instead of her lust. She was so relatable with her social awkwardness and anxiety. She was endearing and so cute. Rocco is a wolf for the first part of the book and I loved that I wasn’t sure if he was going to be an alpha-hole that didn’t want a mate or a swoon-worthy sweetheart.
Lola does a great job writing realistic dialogue and believable character reactions and behaviors. The steamy scenes were well done and sweet. I’m excited to continue reading future books in this series!
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This series has seven books. They are recommended for ages 17+ due to language and sexual content. Each book in this series is steamy connected standalones and follows a different couple with their own happily ever after, and the stories can be read in any order (but recommended to read them in order for best understanding) for they each end with a lead-in to the next couple's book. This is the third standalone book in the Mate Hunt series. This a story about a woman named Del and a man named Rocco, who is a beta wolf of Moon Ridge. All it took was one friendly barbecue to change everything, because when she showed up, she met Rocco. He says she’s his mate, which is basically a werewolf's instant wife. Honestly, she’s not all that opposed to the idea. Mostly because her instant-hubby comes with a house, and she’s a day away from being homeless. She doesn't expect the family-like wolf pack that comes with said mate, though, or the mysterious dude who isn't Rocco who is also apparently living in the house she inherited when he decided she was his and then got stuck in his furry form. She’s not sure what het future holds, but one thing's becoming crystal clear and that is the fact that Rocco will be a part of it, one way or another. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I can’t wait to read the next story in the series. I highly recommend to everyone.
It seems we get a different pace for every couple. Rocco is the Gamma of his pack and currently not actively looking for his mate even though Ebony & Ford told him that he might have found her. But after what happened to his brother and the secret about it he carries, he was kind of postponing it. Then Ebony is playing fate and invite Del to their dinner get-together and when his eyes meet hers, they turn red and he is shifting. Now you might think the kidnapping and bribing the female starts but Del is a real weirdo. When he starts shifting, instead of running, she kneels beside him and tells him that she is going nowhere.
Well, it's part selfishness as she has no home any longer after graduation but she also kind of feels attracted to Rocco. But everybody in her life ever left her and she is not really open to try again so she reasons that while Rocco is in his wolf form, she is safe and so it starts. She moves into his house but then she meets someone she was not prepared for and is dead set on leaving, so Rocco bites her..
I will stop here as nothing in this book was predictable, least of all Del's behaviour. But after learning what happened in her life before, things make more sense. However, her insistence on a platonic relationship drove me nuts! Thankfully, it doesn't last that long, so it was okay.
Like in the other books, the next couple finds each other at the end of the book and I somehow doubt I will like book 4 very much if June's behaviour is any indication how the story will go. Poor Zed but we already know that the Sigma wolves have the most likeliness to end with a rejected mate. I'm part curious and partially dreading the next book..
3.5⭐️ “Trapped With the Werewolf” is book three in Lola Glass’ Mate Hunt series. This book follows Rocco and Del. Told in Del’s Pov except for Epilogue which is in Rocco’s.
Though this is book three and I haven’t read the previous books, (which I will be rectify very soon) I did not feel as if I had missed too much. I do plan on reading books one and two now to see certain events that happened.
Plot Del is about to become homeless, so she decides to go to a friends BBQ because of the free food. When she is dragged around by her friend Teagan she meets Rocco who growls the word ‘mate’ than turns into a wolf. Del is told what ‘mate’ means and that she will have to stay with Rocco, She has no problem with that as now at least she has somewhere to live.
I feel like we missed out on a lot of Rocco in this book as he stayed in his wolf form Rocky for majority of it. Don’t get me wrong I loved Rocky with his cheeky ways, but it would have been nice to see more of Rocco and Del interactions. But having said that, I think Rocky was the best way to get Del to be more comfortable with the whole ‘mate’ situation, as her anxiety could have been an issue if she felt that she needed to move the relationship on to quickly from a platonic to sexual one.
This was a cute and enjoyable read and I loved seeing these two characters from opposite worlds and personalities come together.
Del went to the barbecue because at least she could get free food. She was about to be homeless and had nothing lined up for the future. She also has social anxiety, so she worries about many things. She enjoyed looking at the huge men, but didn’t want to get too close to have to talk to them. But Teagan dragged her around to introduce her. And then she met Rocco Hughes who growled out the word “Mate” and turned into a wolf! Actually she was more comfortable with Rocco the animal rather than Rocco the man, so she didn’t run away as his bones snapped and reformed. As they explained what a mate was, they told her she would have to stay inside Rocco’s house for a few days at least, and that good news sealed the deal! No more homelessness! And then they told her she could choose not to have sex and just be his companion, which sounded just perfect. She would stay with him while she found a job. But what happens when she meets the rest of the family?
This is like an adorable how-to manual for dealing with a mate. Del just accepts the unusual like it’s no big deal, which is a surprise when you consider her anxiety. But she interacts so well with the wolf and is ready to just be pals with her mate. How will that turn out? Grab your copy and enjoy the family drama and adjustment to her new life. There will be surprises, so be ready!
Ngaww I think this is my fav Mate Hunt book so far I related with so many of Dels characteristics it was hard not to relate 💖 i was wondering how this book would be with Rocco in such a dark place after everything with his brother & I'm so glad it worked out. Miss Glass I really hope u figure out a way for Ryder to get a second chance mate still breaks my heart his whole situation.
Del was just going to a friend's BBQ before she left after college when she connected eyes with Rocco sending them into the Mate Hunt. Del surprisingly took everything in her stride which shocked a lot of the other pack members as Tea & Ebony had been a lot more high maintenance. But beneath the surface there's much more to Dels reaction with no family and no place to go after graduation she went from a high possibility of living out of her car to having a family and house fall into her lap it all sounded like heaven and she didn't mind Rocky, Rocco's wolf at all. But Del is hesitant to move the relationship forward from a platonic friendship and put her heart on the line for fear that Rocco will change his mind and leave her like everyone else in her life has. If she can get past that and accept their bond she might just get what she's longed for for most of her life 💖
Del is a University Music Graduate who just got fired from her job as " Hall room Monitor of the Girls University Dorm" and, who has also been kicked out of her place, is living in her car unless she finds a new job and a new place to live asap. Currently, she has just arrived at Ebony 's Bbq party where she plans to eat free food and make herself as unknown as possible o the rest of the crowd there. Fat Chance.
Rocco, usually a easy going funny werewolf, has just been through a major loss and is sitting quietly at a table in Ford's backyard. Currently a history teacher at the local High School, his brother recently got rejected by his mate resulting in him going bonkers and posing a threat to his pack and being taken to the forest for "disposal" never to be seen by the rest of the werewolves and causing his parents a tremendous amount of grief that Rocco is left to deal with for himself and his parents.
At the sight of Dell, his eyes turn red, the shifting starts and he utters one word "Mate" .
The rest of the pack knows the drill but are still surprised when they see Del escape the custody of her friends Tea and Ebony and rush to Rocco's side to try to alleviate the suffering Rocco is going through.
This is Del's ancd Rocco's story and it is worth reading.
I discovered this author not so long ago through books she wrote and sort of fell under her spell. She has a special way to creating stories about the paranormal with the main characters engaging in dialogs with a funny attitude under the worst circumstances and using sass and witt that made this reader laugh at certain moments during my reading this story, while also keying up my interest in the plot as well as reactions from all the characters the author uses in her story.
The book turned into a page turner that I highly recommend with a rating of 5 Stars. If I could give it ten stars, I would.
4.5 stars! I am still loving the unique pack dynamics and novella feel to the series. Del/Mads may be my favorite lead yet. She was awkward but in a relatable, funny sort of way. She was introverted, laid-back, and spontaneous, which was just a great combination. I love that she was so multi-dimensional without diminishing parts of her personality that may not typically "go together". I laughed a good amount at her and Rocco’s antics. Rocco felt like the perfect balance of serious and joking. I can’t say enough good things about the leads.
This is a female lead POV, but we do get a little Rocco POV at the end. I felt that there was significantly more bonding between Del and (currently) side characters of the pack. I loved getting to see more personality from the pack members and how they interacted.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
H-Rocco Hughes-Wolf h-Madeline Wooley (Del)- Mate So just like the 2nd book it really picked up right after that one. Which was on the bbq graduation of Ebony and Tea. I think overall I like her look in life much better than Ebony and Tea. I think she was going with the flow and really got attached to the wolf a lot sooner than the others did. I really like how attached she got to the wolf. She has gone through a lot and was very lonely in her world and coming to his world it kind of brought everything together. I didn't like the whole "platonic" relationship she set up. I understand to some extent why she did it. She didn't think Rocco was ready or wanted a mate and she felt the only reason he was going along is because of the wolf. I can't wait to see the story of her best friend June.. but I wished it was Elliot's turn nxt.. but is not. lol
Really enjoying this series! I loved how Madeline ‘Del’ is instantly on board with her Insta-hubby-fated-wolf-mate, but because poor Rocco is dealing with a difficult family situation and less than friendly when they first meet -brief as it is- she thinks he hates her so she spends the ensuing months convincing herself they’ll only ever be platonic. She adores his wolf and even though she gets social anxiety around groups and new people, she finds herself fitting in easily with his pack-mates and even his parents while Rocco is trapped in his wolf form during the ‘hunt’ phase of their mating. Eventually she is able to see that Rocco is everything she never believed she could have and manages to set aside the rejections of her past to accept his love.
Lola has done it again with another addicting story. I was so obsessed with this story. Whenever I was busy I constantly wanted to pick this book up again. It’s so freaking addicting! And I just flew through it. I loved Del and Rocco! So freaking adorable! I loved the slow burn and their progression as a couple. I love Del’s sass, reminds me a bit of Teagan. I love that so much. And Rocco was adorable. This story was so cute and addicting and I loved the way it unfolded. Teagan and Jesse’s story is still my absolute favourite but this is a second. I was so obsessed with this story and I am a sucker for a slow burn. I also loved how Del accepted the whole werewolf thing as well as petting Rocky the whole time. It was a nice change of pace. I love this series! 4 stars!
Couple: Del and Rocco Plan to re-read: Maybe leaning toward no Thoughts: I liked the first 2 books better than this one. Most of my issues were with Del as a character she was kind of irritating and the emphasis on a platonic relationship when it was abundantly clear neither of them wanted it to be platonic was weird. The ending with the spur of the moment wedding also felt really odd to me for some reason. I did like that Ryder was included in this story and I look forward to reading his book and getting more of his backstory as a rejected wolf. FMC ends up pregnant: Yes
I'm not sure if the character covers or the nature scene covers are the newest version but I want to say that I much prefer the non-character covers. They are super pretty.

Del to me is complicated on one hand she is the first to try to help someone in anyway but she’s also the first to put you in your place. I feel like as a character she as a whole counted herself out in situations that could have been resolved a lot easier. But isn’t that what we all do at times. I also feel like she was very aware of herself, her faults and her anxiety. But she was unaware of the awesome parts of who she was. In truth she represents so many of us in reality who are struggling. I loved Rocco for her because he was upfront, willing to go by her decisions and was patient. In the end this slow burn romance was very realistic in a way that was refreshing.
Even with the reoccurring mate hunt plot, I am enjoying how completely unique each woman's response is. With her mate going wolfie instantly, it's a while before she finds out if she even likes her human mate--an unexpectedly fun twist.
One star off for all the pages I had to skim past while each pair had detailed intimacy--at least the scenes were kept relatively short each time. I am firmly in the "fade to black / more plot and character development instead" camp.
It's also nice to see an original shifter origin story (described best in book 1).
The series just gets better and better honestly! Dell and Rocco are literally the best couples so far out of this entire series. The fact that Joe was in a tough spot when she met Rocco and everyone told her he was, his mate was very honest and truthful, and the fact that Took her time and gave him to Rocco once he shifted back to his human form was really really cute. And it was also adorable. They kept trying to keep things platonic between them when the sexual chemistry was just through the roof. The spice was a little bit spicier in this book and, of course I wish it was even more spicy, but it was such a good story
I didn’t think this series could get any better….. but this book is definitely better! Has more going on and ended like I thought it might….. cant wait to read the next book! I do feel bad for the brother, I truly hope that his story doesn’t end in death from being rejected:-( These guys and their Wolves are so Sweet and Sexy!! Definitely a different take on other Werewolf stories Ive read. More modern day twist too. Easy read short stories too. Enjoy! If you prefer more story than …….. “heat action” these are great.
I really enjoyed this one. I liked how Del was so open to the werewolves and how she was happy just having a home and someone, well some wolf to spend time with. and cuddling up with Rocky (where do i get me one of those) And I did enjoy the relationships she formed with the other guys.
Idk how I'm going to feel about June....she seems bitchy and I'm assuming she will not be happy with staying in one place. I'm scared because the first didn't start off good for me with Teagan. I'm hoping the best mate isn't going go fight it hard.
I honestly loved this. The banter between Del (Mads) and Rocco had me laughing out loud. It was nice to read a love story where they truly became friends first and both were so sarcastic that it made you laugh. I liked Del’s awkwardness and social anxiety. It was funny to read but I haven’t related to character like that in a long time. A good pallet cleanser between heavier stories! (I also haven’t read the firsts in the series but I picked up the story just fine. I will continue though with some of the others!)
Still enjoyable but not as good as the prior two. It feels like this one was written by someone else rather than the same person who wrote the last two.
A lot more emphasis on the sexual tension between the two of them, including a seeming love for the word "erection" by the author in ways that weren't there in the prior two.
Still, I enjoyed Rocco and Del's story.
The FMC and MMCs are still distinguishable between each other between the books, which I always appreciate in series like this.
Trapped with the Werewolf, Mate Hunt three by Lola Glass picks right up where the last book ended. I loved the ending of Taken by the Pack when Del shows up to the BBQ and runs into Rocco. We've met each of these characters in previous books - quickly. Del is the RA in the girls dorm and Rocco is part of the pack. When Rocco see's Del - bam! This is one of the best werewolf stories and werewolf lore's that I've read in a while. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this world.
This was a charming read. I have enjoyed the previous books in this series and this wasn’t any different. Del was a great female character, who although had social anxiety she came across string and independent. I loved getting to see a bit more of the other guys in the pack. I really love Elliot and can’t wait to see him get his own story. Rocco was pretty much what I imagined him to be. If you like to read about werewolves and fated mates this is one to read.
Sometimes you just need a book where everything will be ok and there’s a happy ending. This is it.
Book 3 was an awesome continuation of the mate hunt and another strong female voice. It was a roller coaster of confusing emotions, unfolding story and attraction… all within a tiny 200 odd pages. I walked away feeling very satisfied for a stand-alone book.
This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Trapped with the Werewolf by Lola Glass. This third story in the Mate Hunt series is Rocco and Madeline's story. This series is like a bag of potato chips... You can't read just one. Majorly entertaining, thoroughly enjoyable and highly addictive! I love that each book has the ability to be read as stand-alone but are definitely best when read in series order.
This honest and voluntary review was made possible by reading a copy through Booksprout.
