Dr. Berg completed his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 1998 at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa and is a board-certified chiropractor in three states. In his earlier years, Dr. Berg completed 2 years of undergraduate pre-med studies at University of Wisconsin Parkside and trained as an X-Ray technician in the Army Reserves. He spent 29 years as a full-time practitioner in Alexandria, Virginia.
Dr. Berg no longer practices, but currently does full-time education sharing vital knowledge about the human body and health through social media, videos, and conventions.
I have struggled with my weight my whole life, and now I understand why. Dr. Berg lays out the facts about our metabolism, and the science of nutrition, in a way that puts the reader in control of his or her own health. I was diagnosed with type two diabetes six years ago. After following Dr.Berg’s advice, my struggles to control my blood sugar are OVER. I feel better, and have actually lost weight without being hungry. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in how the body digests food, and how what we eat effects our health.
I needed to hear that. Dr. Berg has some amazing information here delivered in an easy to understand way. I’ve been fat for years and have been told by medical professionals over and over that if I would just lose the weight all my other issues would clear up. So I tried. For 20plus years. Dr. B flips this on its headand says, get healthy and the weight will come off!
Because the issues are causing the weight. This blew my mind. Felt too good to be true. Yet, two months after following his protocol I have personal testimony that he’s right.
I wasn’t fat because I wasn’t trying hard enough. I was sick.
The book describes the process of sugar and carbs in the body and how IF and Ketosis can change your health. I have just started the process last week, and the book helped guide me to get me on course. This is not a long book, but the information is valuable to someone beginning the process, highly reccommend!
There is no new information in this book. It also doesn’t fully address the issues that arise with ketosis. HIs solutions to combating the keto flu for example are to buy his products. Other products would work just as well, including Sole water made with sea salt. I really like Dr. Berg’s videos, but he is becoming very greedy. Don’t feed his greed.
Good book, easy read with solid information. I was looking for something that explains how to to keep and this was great! Read his other book as well, both are great instructional books on the keto diet. Happy to have found info on what to do when you have had your gallbladder removed.
This was well written and Dr. Berg makes it easy to understand. I wanted more info on IF since I’ve been doing IF for a few weeks now and want to make sure I’m optimizing my efforts based on my goals. I feel better than I have in about 10+ years since be diagnosed with hypothyroidism.
This was full of great information. Included the nuts and bolts and whys and hows of keto. I think the pics of meals were especially helpful. (SO. MANY. VEGGIES.) There were a good amount of typos, and they were fairly weird. “Vitamin Ju” instead of “Vitamin K2” or “fud” instead of “food.”
I was interested in this book to learn more about keto and fasting. I found the book to be a quick read and a very clear message on what the author was trying to get across. The only thing I didn't like about the book were the typos. And there were plenty of those.
Easy to understand, and helps make sense of the diet. I like the science behind it. If you’re thinking of Keto, this is a good book to use as reference.
The author has a good reputation since following him on YouTube. His information is consistent throughout the book and concise. The nonexistence of sources is my major problem with the book.
I always wonder who edits these books. This one is really bad. The content is good but someone needs to proof read it and fix all the typos and spelling errors. If I was the author I would be embarrassed.
This book alongside the YouTube videos has been incredibly helpful. I'm 8 days in and have lost 11lbs!!! But I feel healthier, less breathless and I am not hungry...

Very interesting book. What he writes looks plausible but so has other advice in the past. Very few references to support his view. Will be hard to cut-out carbs completely, or will take a while.
This book explains the principals very well. It is easy to read and understand. Highly recommend this if you’re considering doing Kent and intermittent fasting.
I received this smaller summary with The Healthy KETO plan. It breaks down what is said in the larger book in a format that makes a handy quick reference.
