USA Today bestselling author Jane Blythe writes action-packed romantic suspense and military romance featuring protective heroes and heroines who are survivors. One of Jane's most popular series includes Prey Security, part of Susan Stoker's OPERATION ALPHA world! Writing in that world alongside authors such as Janie Crouch and Riley Edwards has been a blast, and she looks forward to bringing more books to this genre, both within and outside of Stoker's world. When Jane isn't binge-reading she's counting down to Christmas and adding to her 200+ teddy bear collection!
Anyone that knows me, knows that Jane Blythe is one of my favorite authors. She has never let me down when it comes to getting lost in a make believe world.
Oh yeah, it is fabulous to be back in rivers end with familiar characters but a new romance.
“Her fate had been sealed the moment she made the decision to defy her parents.”
It had been eight years since her friends had been taken and forced to play the game, Rape, Torture, Kill. She will have to live with the guilt and horror for the rest of her life. She had thought the danger was over, the perpetrators had all been killed, but that was not to be.
She had to return home, or other girls would be taken. What do they want with her. Was it just that she was the one that got away?
Fletcher…she had always had a crush on him, but had never acted on it. She didn’t know that he returned the feeling because he never acted on it either. Fletcher is a deputy sheriff in Rivers End. He was determined to break down the walls Dahlia had created. He wouldn’t let her get away this time.
Jane Blythe knows how to immediately grab me by the throat, holding on, unable to stop reading, with white knuckles and my body filled with tension. Her books fit me to a T. They are fast paced with awesome characters. Unputdownable.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Some Mistakes Are Unforgivable by Jane Blythe.
I have been eagerly awaiting this book! Dahlia’s story is hinted at throughout the series but finally we get to discover what happened and I wasn’t disappointed! This one is quite dark, trauma filled and twisted but also romantic and at times, really emotional! I actually teared up at one stage and I’m not one to cry at books! This story is like an evil game of cat and mouse, the bad guy wants Dahlia and will do whatever it takes to get her. Can the good guys protect her so she can finally get a happy ever after or will the bad guy win? You should read it and find out!
I loved Dahlia and Fletchers story! She has so much guilt and pain in her heart that she’s shut out everyone who loves and cares for her but when the past comes back to haunt her even though she’s still haunted it brings her back home and Fletcher sees her again and she’s no longer who he remembered but he knows one thing he will help her beat her demons and make sure she’s protected
I have been intrigued by Dahlia Black’s story for so long and oh boy, what a story it is too! I am simply amazed by the incredible mind of this author. The attraction between Fletcher and Dahlia, which has simmered for ages is now ready to boil over and boy does it ever. The riveting suspense, the action and drama around the suspense almost makes you hold your breath in anticipation—sensational! Another brilliant story in this River’s End Rescue series.

The festivities had begun before the FBI, her military brothers and Fletcher were able to rescue the girls. Fletcher is injured saving her. Wracked with guilt Dahlia withdrew from life.
Over the next eight years later, Dahlia had run from River’s End, buried herself in guilt while building a new life in California and having a long-distance relationship with her family. Dahlia returns for a few hours, sees the family and quickly leaves, convinced they all hate her for her rebellion at 15. Soon after, Dahlia begins to get emails boasting the game she was forced to play has been resurrected and will continue until she comes to play. Rating: 3.75stars
Jane Blythe’s story starts off from the get go with major suspense and doesn’t let go till the last page.
Dahlia Black has felt guilty over what happened to her and her friends for years. She left Rivers End and never wanted to come back.
I just saw you get out of the car and came up to say hi. Didn’t realize you were going to going to go all warrior princess on me. I hope I didn’t hurt you, just didn’t want to get an eyeful of that stuff, it's the worst to clean out.”
Fletcher always hoped she would come back and stay now he just needs to convince her.
“Thank you, Fletch. This was exactly what I needed,” Dahlia said softly. “Anytime, Freckles.”
Jane Blythe always comes up with the most crazy whacked out bad guys and this is no exception. Definitely keeps you glued to the pages and cheering for the good guys.
First let me say I was so excited to get to read Dahlia's story and boy it didn't disappoint. I loved Dahlia and Fletcher, such a great couple. Dahlia had a horrible incident happen to her as a teenager and she shut down with her family and blamed herself for everything that happened. She absolutely refused to go home because her guilt was to great but she didn't have a chance this time. She had to go home to help find girls that were taken just like she was. Fletcher refused to let Dahlia's guilt get in the way of her coming home to her family but also to him. I loved how patient and sweet he was to Dahlia. He would do anything for her no matter how stubborn she was. So excited for Dahlia's hea. I absolutely loved this book. Can't wait to see what's next.
Some Mistakes are Unforgiveable was just what I needed!! This story will have you hanging on by a thread. I loved the suspense and loved the characters more.
My heart reached out to Dahlia. She has a past that keeps gripping her with the guilt she just can't seem to let go. Fletcher also has a past with Dahlia and I love when these two get together. The feeling of "home" is what you get with these two. I fell for this story and you will too! Jane adds her signature style with her writing that will tear your heart and shred it. But she will always mend it at the end. This story blew me away!!
Fletcher and Dahlia. The youngest child, only daughter and her brother’s best friend. A horrific event had Dahlia leave home for years and a similar event has her returning to help stop it. Their relationship was sweet and their dialogue open. Fletcher was a great character for the whole series, but especially here with his trusting the guy and honesty. The entire Black family is present in the whole book as emotional and physical characters helping Dahlia and the town. The bad guy was a bid absurd with his rationale for being free of fear of being found out if he already had ticket to an extradition free locale. The part of the family surrogates near the end made more sense though. Overall a quick and good read!
Some Mistakes Are Unforgivable: WOW! Never a dull moment in the Black Family! It's a very strong family who stick by each other even when one is not with them because what happen to her at 15. Dahlila dreaded coming home because of what happened 8 years ago but she felt she needed too. Davila always had feelings for 1 hot blonde cop but she couldn't think about that right now. Fantastic ending to the series!
4* Dahlia has been running from her past and the guilt she had felt for years. Unfortunately her past mistake has made it impossible for her not to return to help them catch the person/gang who wronged her all those years ago. Fletcher is determined to help Dahlia realise it wasn't her fault. A lovely series.
This may be my favorite couple. I love when someone learns to fight for themselves and their happiness, when they learn their own worth. Dahlia is so strong and admirable. Fletcher is so wonderful, just knowing how to help her cope and when to push. I love this book, well done!
This is a great book the beginning of it really got me hooked! It's suspenseful and full of love and family. The reason it's not 5 stars is to me a few things didn't line up quite right but it wasn't bad enough that the story wasn't still great! :)
The very last in the series. Oh am I upset to have reached the end. I loved Dahlia. She went through so much and struggled to find her way back. And Fletcher? He's every woman's dream. Just an amazing end to the series.
I loved this book. It's amazing. I couldn't put it down. Jane has a way of making you sit on the edge of your seat with suspense. Definitely worth reading.
This book finishes the amazing River series. The daughter Dahlia of the Black family gets her book. Dahlia and Fletcher are a great couple. They have great chemistry.
This cover may scream sweet and innocent but the story inside is so much more.
Chapter 1 sucks you in and has you gripped and you cannot help but the devour the book. I loved the way this was written. It was fairly fast paced but didn't skim on the details. The author has successfully delivered a story that packs an emotional punch without being to 'smushy'
If you have read any of the other Rivers End books you will know that you are in for an emotional roller coaster ride and Dahlia’s story was just that. Very emotional from the get go and continues all the way through, this would have to be my favourite in this series, although I have absolutely loved them all. Dahia feels guilt over events that happened to her when she was only 15 years old and she has not been able to move on. Fletcher helps her with that get over that guilt by proving that no one blames her for the unfortunate events that occurred. His support and love helps her to heal from the trauma of her past and together they can build a future. Jane Blythe once again delivers a very gripping and heart wrenching suspense filled book that reels you in from the very first page and does not let go of your heart strings. I have fallen in love with all these characters and this amazing series and I am so sad to say goodbye to them. Highly recommend this book and series by Jane Blythe who is one of my favourite suspense authors and who writes with lots of passion for the characters and the story.
I received an arc copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
What a great conclusion to the series! I loved Fletcher and Dahlia. The story flowed smoothly and at a brisk pace. I read this in one sitting. Jane Blythe’s writing just keeps getting better and better!
This book kept me intrigued and wondering through the whole thing. Love and mystery, twists and turns that will have you second guessing yourself. It has all the feels and then some. Great characters and storyline. Once again Jane Blythe has nailed it.
