A US Marshal K9 Thriller

When her personal life spins out of control, Deputy US Marshal Caitlyn Reed is quick to volunteer for a case hunting a murderous fugitive in another state, far from home. She and Renegade escape the tangle of relational issues and jump into a forthright battle against crime.

Sheriff Colt Branson must grapple with the shock of family turmoil and an absent fiancée. While dealing with emotional upheaval in his world, Colt continues his search for the murderer of a local father and son that took place in Moose Creek months ago. His investigation uncovers the killer’s connection to a New York crime syndicate.

When Caitlyn suddenly falls off the radar, Colt risks everything to find her. He has nothing to go on besides Renegade and Caitlyn’s abandoned truck. Colt joins forces with the Reed brothers and a team of US Marshals led by Caitlyn’s mentor, Dirk Sterling. Together, their unit has the combined skill and manpower, but will they get to her in time?

Book 5 delves further into the shocking revelation Book 4 teased us with regarding Caitlyn and Colt. Caitlyn leaves town with Renegade to help track an escaped convict and give herself time to think.

Colt is reeling from this latest relationship dilemma, while still on the hunt for an elusive killer. When Caitlyn comes up missing, Colt and Caitlyn’s brothers, along with a team of US Marshals, join forces to find her. All they have to go on are Renegade and the rumor of a cult in the local area that Caitlyn was going to check out. Where is she and will they find her in time? She should be able to handle almost any situation if she has Renegade by her side. But…she doesn’t have Renegade this time.

Twists, turns, suspense, intrigue, danger, and so much more!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sheriff Colt Branson’s past comes back to haunt him and his fiancée US Marshal Caitlyn Reed. The celebration of their engagement is halted when they recognize Colt’s former high school date with her young son, a son who is a carbon copy of a younger Colt. Could this boy be his son? Caitlyn and her K9 Renegade receive a request to track down an escaped prisoner. It is almost a relief for her as this will give Colt time to find out if this young boy is his son. Meanwhile, Colt is also continuing his hunt for the man who killed a father and son. The convict that Caitlyn is tracking has nothing to lose. He has killed since his escape and one lone woman coming after him will not be a problem. He hasn’t counted on US Marshal Caitlyn who will fight to the death to take him down. When Caitlyn is reported missing, Colt and her brothers lead the search, but will they find her in time? A fascinating story and the continuing characters make this a must-read series! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation, from the author, for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

I’m so in love with this book! It was so well written! I’ve read her other series as well as all the books in this series and I’m very impressed with how much Jodi is growing in her story build up/plot. This book is my favorite so far! It had everything that I was looking for! I loved the suspense, the emotions (which I completely felt, myself). The characters are great as usual.
Thank you so much Jodi Burnett for allowing me to be a part of your ARC team! All opinions written are my own. I’m so happy that I could give this a 5 star rating! I’m just sorry that I’m so late! Health issues arose!
Bravo on this awesome book!!!

Can I just say I love it when an author slaps me upside the head and asks, was that what you were expecting. This is a series, you could read this book on its own, but the relationship building through out, the jaw dropping moments, etc will not be fully appreciated. Did Jodi slap me upside the head; metaphorically speaking of course as we don't even live in the same state; yes she did. Book 4 left us with a jaw dropping moment, one that surprised me and disappointed me because I looked at it as a means to keep extending strife. I procrastinated reading this for 2 days after I got it, but I should know better than to ever question an author I like and admire (of which there are many). This was exceptional all the way around. My fear was addressed in the first chapter and though Caitlyns (US Marshall) personal life is in a turmoil she and Colt (Sheriff) address issues as adults. The ying and yang of working at a relationship are addressed through out the book. Colt and Caitlyn, her parents, her brother Dylan and his fiance McKenzie. There are successes and ones we still have to wonder on. Renegade oh be still my heart, our K9 Renegade has my heart. When Caitlyn and Renegade help out trying to chase down a wanted fugitive, who is also a murderer you just know there will be twists, turns and catch your breath moments, and there were. When Cord gets the call that Caitlyn is missing we are in for one heck of a ride. Jodi brings both brothers into the search along with Colt and the US Marshalls and it was tense. There are a couple laugh out loud moments with Dyan and McKenzie to help ease some of the suspense and so many cool little nuggets were here and there opening up a world of possibilities for the series to go on and on, all with out extending strife :) Thank you for the arc #jodiburnett I freely share my thoughts and opinions! #SDGPublishing #bookfunnel #Bloodline #Tin Star K9

Action-packed addition to the Tin Star series!
Jodi Burnett’s Tin Star K9 series continuously builds on each preceding book by following at least one and at times several threads that may or may not directly relate to the major cases of each book. Bloodline is no different, while both Caitlyn and Colt are involved in separate investigations/cases there comes a point where they overlap. Additionally, at least one new character is introduced to this story arc who may become an integral part of the future stories. As with each of the preceding stories Bloodline is action packed and takes its reader on an emotional rollercoaster ride, in fact Bloodline contains one scene that brought tears to my eyes- to find out which scene you will need to read/listen to this highly entertaining story. Regarding listening to Bloodline, Joyce Oben does an excellent job of bringing not only the characters to life but creating the appropriate atmosphere for each scene of the story. My voluntary review is based on listening to an Audible review copy of Bloodline I received from the author.

An enjoyable crime novel following the career of a law enforcement dog handler. Lots of action on the professional and personal front to keep a wide variety of audiences entertained. I found the sum total of the detailed family and emotional interactions a bit too shmaltzy but many readers will enjoy this. All I will say regarding this facet of the book is it proves that what goes around comes around.
I thoroughly enjoyed the crime chases and the initiative shown by the heroine.(am I allowed to use this word in our politically correct society?) I'm not deliberately trying to pump the authors sales but though this book can be read as a 'stand alone' novel I would recommend that you read the 'Tin Star K9' series in order to get the best from her solid character development and story strands.

On a final cryptic note which you will understand once you've read the book and come across 'domestics', I fully agree with Stella especially having been stuck in the one country for two LOOOONG years due to Covid.

Enjoy the book and if your disagree with my humble words then get at me not the hard working author. Oh, usual rider, I got an ARC copy but, as you can see from above, my viewpoint is my own uninfluenced by the author to whom I ust apologise for the tardy review but I was finally enjoying a post Covid holiday.

Author Jodi Burnett once again had me turning pages as I wondered how this thrilling tale would end. Not only does she keep the reader engaged with Caitlyn’s involvement in helping locate an escaped convict, she also effectively weaves in the continued family relationships.

Caitlyn and her K9 partner, Renegade, once again take center stage when she is asked to help with an investigation in the State of Washington. Although she is dealing with some personal emotional turmoil at home, the idea of getting away from it for a few days makes her jump at the chance to leave. Meanwhile, back at home, Colt continues to work on a murder case. He is also adjusting to surprising news that will make a huge impact on his life.

Grab your copy of this engaging story to follow the harrowing investigation and to learn how Caitlyn and Colt grapple with his unexpected news that will ultimately affect both of their lives.

I was provided an advance copy of this book for review but enjoyed it enough that I chose to purchase a copy. No promise of a positive review was requested or made and any opinion expressed here is my own.

Caitlyn is involved with an escaped prisoner and the action begins. Caitlyn can not stay out of trouble and she and her dog Renegade are involved with finding a killer. The plot is engaging and thrilling as Catlin gets herself in all kins of trouble as a U.S. Marshal. This book is a continuation of the series but can be read as a standalone also. There is also romance as Caitlyn is figuring out her relationship with Colt while also dealing with her family. This book kept me on the edge of my seat with all the action. I recommend this book and author for all crime and romance readers. Thank you for the arc #jodiburnett I freely share my thoughts and opinions! #SDGPublishing #bookfunnel #Bloodline #Tin Star K9

There is great connectivity from book to book. Stories and characters get closer and closer to being real people.
when you are in the police force anything can happen an that's exactly what happens. Personal lives and issues are put non hold. Some fester and some get stronger. Everyone seems to have issues and problems that need mending and tragedy seems to bring people together so some petty issues are seen to be that and the bigger problems aren't as big as they first seem.
All police plans sound good on paper but when they fall apart life can and will be on the line.
Jodie brings grit to her characters and this grit drives the story forward.

From the moment 'Bloodline' began with an adrenaline rush of action, I was hooked! Moreover, the fascinating page-turning novel was filled with family drama, suspense, thrills, and love. With an evil man, a rattlesnake, and two Belgian Malinoises on the loose, the excitement kept coming. Jodi Burnett, the author, kept building the roller-coaster ride of tension to where it ended in a crescendo of more thrills. Yes! The reader could breathe again and thankfully finish the narrative in peace. What a fascinating read!

I loved this book! The story is full of action, Caitlyn is determined as ever she could be in finding the culprit for the murders and stopping the killings. Colt is also extremely able to pursue wrongdoers and put them in situations that will lead them to prison. There's also a lot of romance and feelings involved in the last quarter of the book. Family relationships, trust, and friendship are also strong points in this story.
I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my unbiased review.

3.5 hearts

Now I am on to the fifth book in the series, Bloodline.  Colt is sheriff and Caitlyn is a US Marshal K9 agent.  They are engaged with a strong relationship.  It's what they both have always wanted.

Suddenly, Colt learns he has a 10 year old son from his mistake after graduation.  Caitlyn gives herself space by going to work on a case out of state where a prisoner escaped.  The prisoner goes on a killing spree, enjoying it after the first kill.  The Marshals and Caitlyn do a great job of finding clues to where he is traveling and going.  Renegade does some work which helps.  But when a man just keeps changing cars it's harder to track when he goes off in a new car.

Colt navigates helping to support his son, getting to know him and working out a parenting schedule with his mother.  He convinces the mother to move back to town.  She is a widow having lost the only father his son knew.  Colt is very worried about how it will impact his relationship with Caitlyn and her family.

Caitlyn, even with plenty of support goes off on her own and gets abducted.  It's terrifying.  The whole team plus Colt and Caitlyn's brothers, one with his K9,  search for her.  Her brother and his K9 are much more experienced and Colt is just a stand-in for Caitlyn with Renegade.

The suspense of this book was well done and the K9 work was a bit frantic.  Renegade was going to find her.  Caitlyn utilized what skills she could against her captor.  This ending was much more of an HEA with things working out in the end.

Another incredible hard to put down(maybe that’s why I finished it in about 36 hours & my laundry isn’t put away??) but this book is a truly great read!! All of The Tin Star K9 Series books are fabulous!!! I love the edge of your seat thrill ride scenarios that Ms Burnett is so good at crafting!! My lil brother owns 2 K9 Malnios & trains dogs for police & all of the alphabet agencies so I’m very familiar with their high energy & how very very loyal & dedicated they are to keeping their handlers safe at all costs. I love these books & I think anyone who loves a good suspense thriller with a lil bit of romance, set against some of the most beautiful country God created will enjoy these books too!! So what are you waiting for?? Renegade is the first in the series, but I dare you to try & catch me!! Besides at some point, I’ve got to put the laundry away, right??? See you later!!

Bloodline (Tin Star K9 Series Book 5), my tenth read from author Jodi Burnett. I read my first book from her back in January & this book is her best work to date (I keep saying that) continuing the trend of well-written, enjoyable books, it caught my attention in the opening pages & I never put it down until completed. Burnett has created a complete world in which her primary characters interact with an ever expanding world of repeat characters, some very familiar from her other series. I went out & purchased a Kindle copy of this book when I heard of its release and I'm voluntarily leaving a review." I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. Next up Baxter K9-Hero. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

I listened to this on audio, the first by this author I’ve had the opportunity to read/listen to and really enjoyed it. However, this would be a series that I would like to have the whole series before reading/listening if each book is a semi-cliffhanger as this one was. Even though it’s later in the series, I thoroughly enjoyed the characters as well as the story. The book being anticlimactic and then not, makes me very interested in the rest of the series. I think the narration could have been more differentiated as far as characters voices, but overall she did a good job. There is mild language and descriptive violence in the beginning. I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author and my opinion is my own.

Everything was going so well...

But this book pelts Caitlyn and Colt with one nightmare after another, each driving them emotionally, then physically further apart. Knowing how difficult Caitlyn finds emotions and feelings the emotional distance that she puts between them is almost as terrifying as her being kidnapped. Thankfully the time she is held captive gives her time to reassess and realise exactly what is important, Jace is always going to be a part of their future and she realises she needs to be a big girl and accept what cannot be changed. Colt cannot change the situation any more than she can. And Jace is soooo cute, a little mini Colt, he melts your heart.
Renegade is obviously the hero, he already earned our hearts numerous times over!
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Audiobook: I enjoyed this story a lot. The story resembled a roller coaster with all the ups and downs in the lives of Caitlyn and Colt. US Marshall Caitlyn Reed was asked to take part in a multi-state fugitive hunt. Sheriff Colt Branson continued to search for the murderer who killed a father and son in his township. I liked and appreciated Caitlyn's relationships with her family and friends, and it added warmth to the tale. Joyce Oben's narration was skillful. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Love this series

Well I'm addicted to this series because the characters and twists are all unexpected. I must admit that the dogs are impressive. Boy do I hate when they get hurt. The puppies gave me so much joy. I was reminded of an unexpected litter of 9 with my German Shepard. One of my favorite memories with my daughter but decided breeding gets quite expensive. I think these books are great. The family dynamics are something I wish I'd had growing up. Great writing and keep them coming. The work the trainers and animals do is fascinating.

Still reeling from the surprise in the previous book, Caitlin eagerly goes to another state to aid in the search for an escaped convict. When she goes missing, it's all hands on deck to find her.
I really enjoy this series. The characters are well developed and the tension,  twists and action propel the story forward. The bits of family drama make the reader feel emotionally invested in the characters.
Can't wait for book 6!

This story about Deputy Marshal Caitlyn Reed and her dog, Renegade continues the Tin Star K9 series. Full of action and well developed characters the storyline is a straightforward view into the feelings, views and actions of Caitlyn, her Sheriff fiance Colt and their friends and families as they continue their day-to-day crime fighting lives. I received an ARC and this is my honest review of this novel.

Following the trail of an escaped fugitive leads to a frenzied search as he leaves a path of bodies behind him. Meanwhile Cole is dealing with a surprise of his own that rocks his and Cait's world. Both are working on separate cases that somehow develop a shared link as they both work to find their man. Lots of tensions and suspense, stayed up and read all through the night just to see how it ended. If you like thrillers and suspense you will love this book.

Once again just fabulous. I just love Renegade. This one is exceptional because it has puppies, One of my favorite things. Caitlyn & Renegade are after a fugitive and he is dangerous. Colt is dealing with some upsetting family news and hating that Caitlyn is so far away. There is also a lot going on at the ranch. I love Jodi's style of writing, it just draws you right in and you won't want to put it down. I can't wait to see what their next adventure will be.

Better and Better

There is so much going on in this story and it ended as a cliffhanger. McKenzie got her dog for breeding and training plus a bonus. Dylan asked for her hand in marriage. Caitlyn and Colt received a big surprise. Two bad guys down and one escapee again. Page turner you have to read but I suggest you start at the beginning. You won't be disappointed. Great job. Thank you.
