Hecks yeah! I'm so glad I lucked up by discovering Omega's Wish. This book is giving me serious Motherland vibes, you know if everyone were witches. Cara Bryant is a new to me author and after reading this book she has a new fan because I'm freaking hooked, the story was just that good. It has unique and refreshing elements, not to mention I'm a sucker for reverse harem then make it a paranormal omegaverse reverse harem and I'm a goner.
So omegas are treated like crap by society possessions for mean af alphas, they're suppose to be the perfect little doll. The main character, Juniper, use to believe in that. Believe the nonsense her father infused into her and while she was not perfect she tried. Once Juniper was out on her own, at the academy, she started questioning things. Juniper is smart, strong (she goes through a lot), and determined. She learns about the trappings of society and wants to fight against it. I'm proud of Junes she overcomes so much and she doesn't let them bad days win.
This is a slow burn rh, primarily because all the guys can't get it together. So out of five possible guys, one is off limits (bodyguard but we know how that's gonna go), one is a super sweet one (he's an adorable nerd, I love him), and another I really like (but now I'm getting a shady feeling about), the fourth is a jerk professor (improvements have been made), while the last one is just an twatwaffle. So calling the romantic entanglements complicated is an understatement but I have hopes especially when it comes to Marcus (bodyguard) I'm really rooting for that pairing.
Juniper also has a great supportive friend group in this, something she truly needs since home life isn't the best, as well as professors who are open-minded and caring. Actually, the entire academy is open-minded when it comes to omegas and I'm truly surprised by that. Besides that, there is the weird cult-like group of alphas who hate omegas and want to send things back to the dark ages. The story had all the good parts of an omegaverse, senting (love that part), heats, knots, and pairings. Then add in the magic classes, bookstores/apothecaries, cozy cottages, and wild parties, all added to the story.
Omega's Wish was an awesome read with great characters that I'm already totally invested in. However, the story ended on a heartbreaking cliffhanger that did some emotional damage. The second book, Omega's Affinity, can't come soon enough because Cara needs to fix the damage she has inflicted on me, until then I will be brooding about it.
