Jock Road

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.

Those are Jackson Jennings, Jr’s three mantras . His entire life, he’s been a trained athlete with only one end-game: the Pro’s. No girls. No parties. No alcohol.

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.

Repeat.

Every Friday night, Triple J cruises the strip on campus, bored, lonely and conditioned not to party. But the night he meets Charlotte Edmonds on the side of the road, he wonders if his three mantras will ever be enough.

BIG. DUMB. JOCK.

Charlie has no time for Jackson’s antics. Not when he’s stealing her food or teases her to no end, making her tingle in all the right places. But if she’s ever going to have a boyfriend, she’d choose one who isn’t a Neanderthal. One with manners and actual time to spend with her. Not a hulking man-child who cruises the strip at night, in his Big. Dumb. Truck.

Sara Ney is one of my favorite funny authors, and I love the way she writes sports romance. I look forward to all her new releases and after loving the first two books in her Jock Hard series, I was more than ready for this one! This was just as funny, cute, and sexy as the first two. I loved the banter between the characters and that enemies to lovers vibe it had at the start.

Jackson 'Triple J' Jennings is one of Iowa's best players on the football field. He's a sweet southern gentleman, a gentle giant, and a tad inexperienced with women. When he meets Charlie for the first (and second) time, he really rubs her the wrong way. The attraction between them is definitely there, but Charlie is so aggravated with him she can't see past that at first.
She's a trifecta of feminine perfection... And she hates my guts.

Charlie doesn't know who Jackson is, and quite frankly, she doesn't care. She's not really into sports. She and Jackson don't hit it off, but with time, he starts to grow on her. Charlie starts to see Jackson for the kind of guy he really is. Good, genuine, and kind. Their first date was one of the sweetest first dates ever. I just loved everything about this couple together. It made my heart so happy.

Honestly, I thought Jackson was the funniest hero. I laughed so much being in his head... but he also has some damage from his past and the way he was raised. His parents are crap and he still feels pressure from them even though he's a junior in college. Charlie is just the person Jackson needs in his life. She's feisty, fun, and gives just as good as she takes. I love these two together.

The first time they're together, it's explosive. Seriously, off the charts steamy. Jock Road has Ney's trademark humor, is a sweet romance, and lots of fun to read. I only wish the ending wasn't quite so rushed. Otherwise, it would have been a 5 for me. Still, I enjoyed it so much and definitely recommend to those who love sports romance/rom-coms!!

Jock Road was a sweet college romance. And if you love insta-love, and the combination of a sweet but a bit naive hero, and a sassy heroine - this is your book. Also it's drama free and low angst - which is something I usually like.

But unfortunately Jock Road wasn't the right book for me.

And at this point I might just have to accept that I need to move on.

There was really nothing wrong with the book, the issues I have are first and foremost personal.

1) I'm not a fan of a certain trope.

2) I'm also not a fan of sweet romances, they leave me uninspired. Probably because there is nothing that keeps my mind captivated and engaged.

3) The only other complaint I have is that the book felt as if it was unfinished. And it read like a novella instead of a full length novel. Additionally there were a couple scenes that didn't make much sense, almost to the point of being unnecessary. On the other hand, some scenes with already established characters could have been more fleshed out.

Because of all of the above, I skipped and skimmed a lot. Mainly because I struggled with the story and the characters. The spark was missing between the couple, and although the hero and heroine had some chemistry, including some cute and funny moments, it wasn't enough to make a difference. On top I wasn't 100% convinced about either character. The beginning of their friendship was a bit too rough for my taste. They weren't very kind to each other. But overall I just needed a bit more SPICE.

And here comes the gist of it, unless the author brings back her signature style, the books that made me fall in love with her writing - my DOUCHEBAGS (books 1-3), I'm taking a break from her work.

Because I don't feel like I'm the right audience for her books anymore.

Quick review of the things I throughly enjoyed in this installment

Jackson == "Iowa, How the fuck I ended up here is beyond me".
Me == I love Iowa, I've lived my whole life here, and no not near any corn fields or pigs😜

Jackson == "Shit, I haven't even had sex yet"
Me == I'm a sucker for a sexy 22 year old jock virgin heading to the NFL, count me in

Charlotte == "I want to be the first thing he thinks about when he wakes up and the last thing he things about before falling asleep--if I'm not sleeping beside him."
Me == She knew what she wanted and she waited, she didn't push, she was patient.

OK, I could keep going but simply put, I love Sara Ney's writing and her characters. And she does amazing Sport Romances. This one is so so so sweet, definitely one I would recommend to you sweet romance, sports romance lovers

I kiss his majestic nose again. Again. Loving every second of it, cherishing this moment, hoping to remember it forever, no matter what ends up happening with us. We may not have a happily ever after—only time will tell—but we’re happy now, and I want to touch his soul—and his body.

The ”Jock Hard” series is my favorite of Sara Ney’s works. In ”JOCK ROAD” our alpha male Hero is Iowa States’ famous wide receiver, Jackson Jennings, aka ”Triple J”. He’s a hulking specimen of a man but with the innocence of a prepubescent young boy. He’s a Hero readers will find it hard not to fall in love with. Charlotte, aka ”Charlie”, Edmonds, our Heroine, is a spitfire who is not at all threatened by Jackson’s size or in awe of his status of being the next #1 NFL draft pick. These two get off to a very rocky start but their journey is filled with a lot of laughs and equal amounts of heartfelt moments.

Since a very young age, Jackson’s father has ingrained in his head that football is his life. There is room for nothing else, especially women. At twenty-two, he’s never once defied his father and that is why he avoids temptation by spending his Friday nights cruising down Main Street for fun. Little did he know that his tailgating and his truck’s offensive high beams would introduce him to the woman who would have him questioning whether there was more to life than just football.

Jackson is a walking contradiction that becomes a refreshing surprise to Charlie. It’s on their first date that she realizes that he’s out of his element and just as insecure as she is. She knows that if she doesn’t keep her defenses up, that she’ll be heading towards inevitable heartbreak. After just one kiss, Jackson is completely smitten and realizes he’s never felt what it was like to truly live until Charlotte walked into his life. Can he have the girl plus a career in the NFL?

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 4.5
Heroine: 4.5
Plot: 4
Angst: 3
Steam: 4
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 4.5

I battled with the rating on this third instalment of the Jock Hard series. I wavered between a 3.5 Stars to a 4 Stars, and finally decided I would give it a 4 because even though I had a few issues with the story... I really enjoyed Jackson and Charlotte!!!

This starts out an enemy to lovers story! The bickering between Jackson and Charlotte was highly amusing to me! I loved both of their characters and I adored watching them fall in love... even if it all did happen very quickly. In fact, I felt like a lot of this story was rushed. This would be where my complaint comes in. I wish there could have been way more depth to both of these characters. I kind of felt only the surface was touched on. Jackson was such a sweet guy; but he had a ton of issues under his surface. Rightfully so too.. his father was a major asshat and didn’t deserve a wonderful devoted son like Jackson.
The argument between them ended up happening but was never resolved. This led us to the books ended and it just ended abruptly. I didn’t care for that at all.

Would I recommend this book? I most definitely would! I found that even with my complaints, I thoroughly enjoyed anytime that the couple spent together! I will always think of them fondly! I also loved the fact that Jackson was a virgin!!! It added to his sweetness!!! He’s definitely one of my favourite heroes in the sweetness category!!!❤️

She stands there, unmoving, letting the simple kiss simmer, tattooing my mouth forever with the imprint of hers.
It burns.
Singes.
Electrifies me.

This was So. Stinking. Cute.

Like seriously cute. With a splash of feels and Sara Ney's signature humor to lighten things up.

Now cute isn't typically my thing. I love my NA steamy and angsty. But there's something about this book that just worked for me. Maybe it was the completely refreshing hero that was JJ. Here you have a handsome wide receiver that is top in his country and headed for the draft, and the man is basically the antithesis for the stereotypical college athlete in books. He's the furthest thing from a player, completely focused on school and football, and the most endearing touch of awkward. I fell head over ovaries for his adorable brand of awkward right away. There's just something about him that you can't help but love and want to hug and protect at the same time.

The romance is definitely a slow burn and I LOVED the build up between JJ and Charlie. When JJ steals Charlie's sandwich at lunch their antagonistic enemies with an undercurrent of sexual tension begins. I loved their hilarious meet cute and their other run ins. Charlie is a straight shooter that doesn't mince words and she definitely gives it good to JJ. But when she comes to see that he's not the stereotypical jock she thought him to be, a friendship forms that soon builds into something more.

I absolutely loved the build up of the romance. But when the build up had a deliciously slow pacing, it then took a turn and went breakneck speeds. Everything just wrapped up so quickly at the end that I couldn't help but want more. There were some plot lines that felt slightly unfinished (like JJ's family) but ultimately it was just the sudden shift from slow to such quick wrap up that played against it for me.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the heck out of this story and read it cover to cover in practically one sitting. If you're looking for a sweet, lighthearted and sexy NA romance, you can't go wrong with this one.

Overall Opinion: I liked some of this, but frankly the h's attitude at first and the abrupt ending made it not as enjoyable as it could've been. It had basically no closure and the conflict was pretty lack luster as well. But! If you're looking for a story with a virgin H that's a college athlete with minimal drama -- this probably will work for you! I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either -- just okay 3 Stars.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Charlie and Jackson's story. Jackson is a star football player that doesn't do anything in life that could potentially distract him from playing professional football. Charlie is a college student that is fed up with the jock getting his way and has no problem letting him know. The more they run into each other, the more they start to like one another and can no longer ignore their mutual attraction. There is a little family drama, some hot sexy times, and a few funny scenes...and they get a HFN ending.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Charlie and Jackson's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the abrupt ending.

Instalove: No, it's more of a hate-to-love situation (at least for the h).

H (Hero) rating: 4.5 stars. Jackson. I really liked him. He was a sweetheart and also hot!

h (heroine) rating: 3 stars. Charlie. She was a little too high and mighty for me at the beginning but once she started liking the H, I started liking her too.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: No

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This ended really abruptly and I would call it a HFN ending. I was rather disappointed with the ending tbh because it felt so abrupt with hardly any closure. My main reason for the lower rating!

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

So what if he’s cute? He’s a danger and a menace to society.

I feel like this could have been one of the douchebag books since the hero and the heroine were both pretty jerky to each other at the start. It can be read standalone. So enemies to lovers, plus instafeelings. It’s also sweet and slow burn. The hero is a virgin, but of course he can eat it like a god. *eye roll* Still an ok read. Nothing to write home about, but it was entertaining. I think it’s a pretty quick read, but it did admittedly take me a couple days because I was busy.

I wanted to add that there were some petty continuity errors. The one that stood out to me was in one chapter they discussed age. Then the next the hero was wondering if she was legal. Like directly afterward. It wasn’t a direct hit to the plot, so I don’t mark down for that, but I had someone ask me because other reviews mentioned it as a huge deal. To me, it was noticeable, but it didn’t really ruin the story 😂 if I had paid I may have felt differently. Bless up KU!

Jock Road has one of the most adorable heroes that Sara Ney has ever written. I wanted to just cuddle him this entire book and was swooning all over the place. He was such a contradiction and it worked so well with the story. The big jock football player, with the southern drawl and jacked up pickup truck would probably make think that you'd be reading another of this authors douchebag heroes. But that's not the case at all. Jackson was actually a super cute, shy, guy that was so easy to fall for. His character was the one that had me smiling so much while I was reading this story and he made it a very fun book.

As much as I loved him though I found myself struggling with a few parts of this story. The pace was pretty fast, which didn't bother me at all, until we got to the end and everything felt like it was moving a little too fast and without not enough information. Even the relationship seemed to jump from the just-starting-out stages to the I love you's very quickly. It also left some things feeling unfinished.

And even though I love a good southern hero, there were a few too many times that Jackson's accent was pointed out. If happened over and over again where he would say something and then either in italics right after that the phrase would be typed again but spelled like the accent would sound, or Charlie would repeat what he said and again it would be in the spelling that made it clear he had an accent. It just got to be a little annoying, like I get it he has an accent...move on already.
"Why do you think I was talkin' so stupid?"
"Tawkin," She echoes, "...tawkin stoopid"

Overall, I enjoyed reading this story and I obviously loved Jackson. Even with the issues I had while reading I still thought it was a great NA romance and I would definitely recommend reading it. It can be read as a standalone with no problem.

OMG! This book is super cute. I am not really a big fan of NA romance book. But this book is super cute. I love love Jackson. He is such an adorable hero.

A bit of alpha but sweet cuddle bear inside. So cute. I die of over cuteness of him. There is that meet cute on the beginning of the book. Super cute. Charlotte is likeable heroine with motherly side. She acts so symphatic around Jackson and makes him comfortable.

I can not stress more how super cute this 2 are. So cute. Adorable.

Angry, this is for you.

Look, sometimes the background of my life is DanTDM and boys yelling bro at each other. I might as well read a college romance.

Sarah Ney has presented me with a mixed bag. She keeps writing unusual characters. Brash women, sure of themselves, maybe subpar attractiveness in the hero or heroine. Maybe a take-charge woman who can stand up to a strong-personality jock type.

But, then there's this thread in my brain...this I've read this before... Jackson is a sheltered, highly focused to the point of being singularly-focused Texan (and woo boy much is made of that accent...) playing wide receiver at Iowa...weighing in at a spectacular 275 lbs (you KNEW I was adding that) because this is where I'm going to explain my central issue with this book.

It's fucking lazy, and not just in research. He's a gentle giant, inexperienced, sheltered, with unsupportive, resentful parents and she's a cure-all whose family I cannot recall a single detail from. Her friends are just sorta there, which was one of my friend's problems with the last book (she had no real grounding central relationships) and then there's a few things that I really struggle with. But overall this felt SO much like Rhett in so many ways (THE LEARNING HOURS). And then there was this point, I was just sick of them.

All that said, there was some ridiculous good here. And some super annoying condescension that was like..ugh. Should you NOT read this book? Do you like Ney? Yes, probably give it a go. Jackson definitely was seeking an emotional connection that feels rare in romance heroes, even if he couched it behind 'not dating' which is annoying and boring. Just warning you though, you'll probably feel like overall, for how fresh Ney is, this feels done.

I can't remember Charlie's interest or her major. I can't remember nearly anything about her. I liked the tension and flirtation, and the lack of angst between the couple is honestly...nice. But it's an uneven read, and Ney's central characters aren't feeling so unique--and quite disappointingly, feel oddly like shallow assignments of undesirables.

I normally LOVE Sara Ney's books. They are so so so soooo good. But this one didn't do it for me. I struggled to connect with this couple. And the back and forth banter annoyed me. They were so argumentative allllll the time. It didn't come off flirty or fun, just irritating. IMO. Again, I'm normally a HUGE fan of Sara Ney's books but I just didn't feel this.

Jock Road is book 3 in the Jock Hard series and was another cute book. Unfortunately I have to finally admit that this series is just not for me. While these books are cute and have moments that make me smile they're just boring. I need more, more conflict, more sex, more of just about everything and I'm not getting it from here.

Five cute stars for Charlie and Jackson ❤!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the first book I've read by Sara Ney and some of you could wonder how it that is possible because I have the whole "How To Date a Douchbag" series on my shelf 😅?!

Sometimes I buy books that friends recommend me without reading the blurb because they know me well and they also know what kind of books I love to read 😄.

So, after I've read "Jock Road" I knew that I didn't make a mistake buying "How To Date a Douchbag" series because I love, love so much Sara's writing style.

"Jock Road" is the book which will make you laugh on the every page from the start. Charlie's and Jackson's relationship is one of the cutest I've read this year.

If you're looking for the book with an adorable college couple and a lot of fun on every page, this one is perfect for you!

You guys!! Sara Ney did it again! She once again delivered a sexy, banterific, Iaugh out loud #jocktastic story filled with all the sass, smirks and swoons!! Jackson and Charlie were absolutely delicious and so damn addicting. This story was filled with so much heart and I loved every minute of it!

Gah! There is nothing I love more than an enemies to lovers romance. When Charlotte "Charlie" Edmonds met Jackson "Triple J" Jennings, it was definitely not love at first sight. She was definitely not going to fall for the giant behemoth football player and his big dumb truck. Nor would she fall victim to his sweet and southern charm. Until she did. What follows is an amazing enemies to friends to lovers romance that is laugh out loud funny and filled with the smart, sarcastic and spitfire banter that this author is known for.

I absolutely fell in love with Jackson and his adorable charm. I loved how endearing he was and how he realized, through Charlie, that there was more to life than just the game. His relationship with Charlie was so so sweet and hit me right in the feels. What a delicious addition to the Jock Hard series! 5 stars! ~Ratula

***

Is there anything more addicting than a Sara Ney novel?

I'm not even trying to be hyperbolic here. I picked this book up one moment and didn't come up for air until hours later when I was forced to put it down in order to care for my children and other adulting activities. I craved it. I wanted more, constantly. There's something about the way these stories are written that I don't think I will ever get enough of.

That said, it took me a while to warm up to Jackson and Charlie's story. I know, I know - I just said I couldn't put it down. And that's true. It's a testimony to Ms. Ney's gift for storytelling that - ecen as I struggled a bit to connect with the chemistry between Charlie and Jackson - I still felt a compulsive need to see how their story played out.

Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to love here. Both Jackson and Charlie as individual characters were completely likable and interesting -- fascinating, really. Their meet-cute was fun, if a little frustrating to me. Ms. Ney set out to write a story about two people who had no clue what to do with their feelings and a relationship that was going to happen whether they gave it permission or not - and she nailed it. The banter is fiery and fun. The storytelling is top notch. And in the end? I really did love these two clueless, lovable, sexy-as-sin (against all odds) characters.

Jock Road didn't have quite the magic that Jock Row had for me, but I loved every minute I spent reading it and definitely recommend! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

This was a really cute spin on the sports romance trope. I enjoy the Jock Hard series so much because there isn't a ton of angst or crazy drama in every book. Jock Road is a new adult romance about finding love, sometimes in the unlikeliest places.

I wasn't sure how to feel about Charlotte (Charlie) and Jackson at first. I actually found them a little too brash and annoying initially, but once things got going, I loved watching them navigate their new friendship and then more. They have quite the meet not-so-cute! LOL There are plenty of laughs in this book and Sara Ney has given us a southern hero that will have you swooning from how adorably naive he is. Jackson melted me with his sincerity and honesty. There aren't enough book boyfriends like him out there. The tension and anticipation was really great, but I did feel that things moved very quickly at the end and were a tad too instalove for me. The drama with Jackson's father also didn't feel fully resolved and the book finished kind of abruptly. Overall, this was a sweet and entertaining read.

The best thing about this book was the fact that the H is a virgin and a truly nice guy. The H/h meet when he steals the chicken sandwich she was waiting on in the cafeteria. Then they keep bumping into each other. They actually argue quite a bit and it makes me wonder if the author was going for an enemies to lovers vibe. The problem for me was that their arguments felt really antagonistic and it went on for too long.

The H just wants to focus on football and his dad is a controlling a**hole who has clearly messed his head up. He spends most of the book insisting that he can't and won't date but when he meets the h he just can't stay away.

There is quite a bit of insta love and the book dragged in places. The MCs are both good together but the romance was too rushed. The H does finally stand up for himself at the end and it was good to see.

All in all, this was a cute book but nothing spectacular.

Safety: H is a virgin, h has only had one partner 3 years ago and not much more experienced than the H. I liked that they were both on an even playing field.

This enemies/friends to lovers was so sweet! I LOVE the Virgin hero trope, and Jackson was so swoony. He met his match in Charlie the day he stole her chicken sandwich.

„Oh, Charlie, if were I the dating kind… I’d date the hell out of you.”

Sara Ney is one of my unicorn authors and every time she announces a new book I’m getting excited like a kid on Christmas morning. Her stories are witty, charming and everything a good romcom should be. I just knew that I’ll get crazy about Jock Road. This book was adorable, brilliantly funny and filled with Sara’s signature snark. During this read I have swooned, snorted, rolled my eyes and laughed out loud. I loved every second of Charlie and Jackson’s story!

Jackson (Triple J) is a player in Iowa’s football team. And the field is the only place where he has a player status, because unlike other athletes, he steers clear from women and other distractions. He lives and breathes football and he won’t let anything to keep him from his goal- going pro. But a little fight over food with sassy female student in campus cafeteria and bumping into her repeatedly after this encounter, makes him warm up to her. Charlie couldn’t stand huge, self-centered jock from the start. But even when he kept annoying her, every encounter showed that Jackson was more than just a dumb athlete. They formed some kind of friendship that quickly turned into more. But how can Jackson let himself care about Charlie, when his whole life he was told that women are nothing more than a distraction and threat to the sports career?

Gah, I adore Jackson so much! I liked his cockiness, but when he was showing his vulnerable and shy side I melted into a puddle. He was so much more than a jock. His southern drawl made me swoon. He reminded me of Rhett from The Learning Hours and I couldn’t be happier about that (yep, I’m still obsessed with Rhett Rabideaux). Charlie in turn was a real spitfire. Full of sass, feisty and apparently with no filter whatsoever . I loved how they pushed each other’s buttons and their constant banter. Moments of awkardness were sweet and silly. Chemistry undeniable. Intimacy steamy and so delicious. The only thing that didn’t feel right for me was the ending. I’d just hoped for something more…

Jock Road is a delicious slow-burn. Sara Ney mixed cuteness with humor and steam and that resulted in lovely NA sports romance. She’s the only author who manages to create a charming story, that will make you swoon and piss your pants from laughing at the same time. And don’t forget about her iconic quotes. These are GOLD! Summing up- another winner is Sara’s collection.

I think it's safe to say that I might like Jock Hard more than How to a Douchebag series. I mean I love a good douche but the heroes in this series are just winning me over left and right. I adored Jackson, I love that he had a little of cowboy in him and he he was so charming once you got past his douchy actions. And there was so much more to him than the jock image he portraided, I loved getting to know him as Charlie peeled off his layers.

Charlie was a spit-fire, no hold back kind of girl and I loved her most of the time but she could be a bit of a douche herself. But I loved how she bantered and fought with Jackson, it added fuel to the fire and you could feel their chemistry seezling but most of all it was so entertaing and laugh out loud funny. These two were the best and I love watching them become friends and eventually more once Jackson got his head ou of his backside about being in relationship.

You could say this is a bit of a slow burn specially because Triple J aka Jackson is not your typical jock (you'll see what I mean whe you read this) but there's so much chemistry and sexy banter between these two, it's almost better than when they finally do it. ALMOST. And it's funny, sweet, lighthearted and a fast read. Jackson will win you over and make you swoon in no time.

Sara Ney strikes again with another roll your eyes, laugh out loud funny story with all the swoon and sexy times. Although the ending will leave you a bit unsatisfied because you'll crave more of these two it definitely ends in Sara Ney fashion, with her funny and clever one liners.

4 STARS!

Sara Ney, hands down, does complete justice to the sports romance genre. She gives it just the right amount of sexy and those much needed laugh-out-loud moments! Anything she writes, I'm reading.

Jock Road is Sara's third installment in her Jock Hard series and I can't get enough of them! The beauty of this series is that each book can be read as a standalone... But you'll want to read them all!

In Jock Road we meet Charlie & Jackson.

Jackson "Triple J" Jennings is the star wide receiver at Iowa. He's a Texas boy and football is his passion. He's a gentle giant with that Southern twang we love. However, he's not your typical Jock. He avoids those Jock chasers, likes to keep to himself, and rather be driving his truck, which is how he meets Charlotte.

Charlotte "Charlie" Edmonds is a sassy spitfire. She does not like Jackson one bit when they first meet (he pretty much scares her with his big truck and blazing headlights). It was rather entertaining watching her get in his face and tell him off. All Charlie sees is this big entitled a-hole jock, but with time the dynamics between the two change and they develop a friendship.

I really enjoyed Jackson & Charlie's relationship. It was witty, full of constant banter, and lots of attraction that they both equally tried to fight off as Charlie has been burned in the past and Jackson doesn't believe in love. But Charlie slowly shows Jackson that there's more to life than just playing the sport.

Jock Road might have had some flaws but it was sweet and a fun story nontheless; perfect for any fan of sports romance, plus Sara wrote it. Enough said there!

Gah! Sara Ney has once again delivered a fun, sexy and laugh out loud narrative that will hit you with all of the feels. Jackson and Charlie were absolutely adorable and completely addicting with their sizzling chemistry and fiery hot banter. I positively devoured this amusing and entertaining, enemies-to-lovers story with a smile on my face from start to finish.

When Charlotte "Charlie" Edmonds meets Jackson "Triple J" Jennings, it was definitely not love at first sight. He steals her food, he teases her and he's definitely not her usual type. He is a mountain of rolling muscle with a big dumb truck who's sole focus in life is football. She would never fall for someone like him. Not now. Not ever. But then she did. What follows is an amazing story filled with lots of laughs and heartfelt moments.

I was completely captivated by this couple, just waiting for that moment when they'd succumb to the pull, and it was well worth the wait. I absolutely loved Jackson and Charlie, especially how their antagonistic relationship naturally morphed into one of adoration.

It's no surprise that I love Sara Ney's writing. But her Jock Hard series is fast becoming a favorite. Her writing style, her sense of humor, the way that she pairs her couples-it all works very well for me. Jock Road is filled to the brim with plenty of heart, humor and heat. This story made my heart race, my cheeks burn and kept me laughing out loud well into the night. It is a stellar addition to an already amazing series! 5 Sinfully Sweet & Sexy Stars!

Geez Sara Nay can write the hell out of new adult romance. Not that I didn't already know that but damn that book just nailed it.

Jackson and Charlotte were so cute together. They shouldn't have worked from the outside but they came together so perfectly I just couldn't get enough of them together.

And I will admit Jackson was 90% of this book for me. He is everything I could need in a new adult hero and a little bit more. I would have liked more of a conclusion with his parents or a massive epilogue of them further in the future but I really don't think I could have gotten enough even if I got both of them.

So I will just focus on how much I loved what I got. And how beautiful Jackson was and how sweet but sassy Charlotte was. And go off to stalk Sara to see when her next release is because I need it already.

Jock Road is the third book in the series. They aren't connected there standalone. I've enjoyed this series so much. The characters and stories have been great and this book was the same. This Book is quite different to the other 2 books but that was good. Jackson plays for the football team but he isn't like your normal footballer. Ye he's big, strong sexy and has woman all over him. But he doesn't want them well that's what he's been told for year that woman will ruin his career and distract him. He father is very hard on him but Jackson just want him to be proud of him. So he has done everything his dad has said until Charlie comes exploding into his life.

Charlie is a great character I luv how sassy she is and the banter she has with Jackson. I did find her annoying at time when she kept goin on about Jackson southern accent. I get you like it but it just was a bit to much after a while. I did like they way Jackson and Charlie met it was funny. The banter between them was great they kept each other on there toes. There connection was instant but I found the chase to go on a lil to long. I just wanted to see what Jackson was goin to be like with Charlie when he finally sorted his head out.

I enjoyed this book but there were just a few things that I found dragged a little. It was good that the characters were different and Charlie was the more experienced in a relationship. Jackson show how vulnerable he was at times and I did find it a bit weird caused in so used to having strong men in books but it was good as well cause some woman are more experienced. This did make me luv Jackson more and showed all men don't have to alpha. I would recommend this book I enjoyed it but I don't think it's the best in this series. But I'm a big fan of this author I luv her stories and characters and can wait to see what she does next.

What a mess!

I love all of Sara Ney's Jock Hard books except for this one. They had a cute meet, but after that the book just went downhill. I didn't like a lot of things about this book. First, there were so many inconsistencies - like in one part he is an AG (agriculture) major, but in another he is a Business Economics major. Another is on one page she has bright blue eyes, but the very next page she has dark brown eyes. What the heck?

Second, one of my pet peeves is when texting used in books. There are pages and pages of it in this book, and it's not even witty or funny. This was overused, if you ask me. Third, the epilogue didn't seem right. Yes, I know it is to tell the final, or conclusion, of the story, but most of the ones I read in other books is usually set in weeks, months or years later. This one was like the very next day, and just felt it should be just another chapter instead of an epilogue. It would been nice to have an epilogue with him getting ready for the NFL draft, or the following year where the entire football house all carves pumpkins and it was gonna be a tradition, or that Christmas where they are decorating a tree to show he now has a life he is living with his girlfriend outside of football. This epilogue was very unsatisfying.

Finally, I just didn't like the writing and the lack of chemistry between the characters. I keep thinking it was going to get better, right up to the last page, but it was a disappointment almost from the start. It seemed like the author was working against a deadline and didn't care what type of story she threw together as long as she got the book done. I would been ok with waiting longer for this book so she could get it right.
