This book is admittedly dated, having been written in 1988, but it is a true compendium of information about literary sites in London. It is divided up into neighborhoods such as Kensington, Lambeth, Highgate, etc. Sadly, because every city is constantly renewing itself, words such as "demolished" and "pulled down" are commonplace in the text; so, too, is "destroyed in the Blitz." That said, there is a lot of fun stuff in here about the diarist Samuel Pepys, novelist Charles Dickens, William Morris, as well as many others, and mention of places associated with some of the modernists such as Virginia Woolf, T. S. Eliot, and Ezra Pound
