Executive, wife, and mother of an outgoing first-grader, Sydney Clayton crushes her day-to-day obligations at work but flounders in the cutthroat world of parental politics.

She manages to avoid the local drama until she’s faced with an ultimatum: join the Forest River PTA or risk her daughter becoming a social outcast. Sydney reluctantly becomes treasurer, and takes the recently vacated position of the president’s sidekick. If protecting the children’s freedom of speech, one best friend ban at a time, isn’t complicated enough, Sydney and her husband receive an unexpected offer for their house they don’t think they can refuse.

Embroiled in the deception and manipulation rife among the elementary school moms, Sydney struggles. Should she sell the home she worked so hard to build in a town where betrayal runs rampant? Or should she stay put to avoid the fallout from uprooting her child? As Sydney focuses on what is best for her daughter, and lets go of her judgments, she finds friendship can develop in very unexpected ways.

Warm, witty, and wise, Go On, Girl dramatizes the dilemmas of life in the suburbs and the bonds shared by women. Perfect for fans of Big Little Lies and Class Mom.

Hilary Grossman knocked it out of the park with her fourth novel. Go On, Girl is filled with humor and heart. Fun-filled with crazy situations and lots of character growth, it was a pleasure to read. I've read all her books and it's wonderful watching her grow as an author. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Go On, Girl by Hilary Grossman was a thoroughly enjoyable book to read and I found myself laughing out loud at the antics of some of the characters as I dove into this book that is filled with situations that I could definitely identify with.

Although my years of parenting young ones is far in my rear view mirror I remember the drama associated with some of those PTA/PTO meetings and that is what made this book so realistic. I could totally imagine the scenarios that were unfolding in the book to be accurate.

Sydney is a mom, wife and successful professional executive with a dynamite career who wants everyone to have it all - including her daughter. When PTA Queen Jackie guilts and basically tricks her into joining the team as an officer she looks at is as a chance to do everything she can to ensure her daughter's happiness in school. Little does she know the politics that will unravel with that position and the twists and turns that her life will take as a result of trying to fit in and be one of the team.

Author Hilary Grossman has a way with words and in this her 4th novel I loved seeing how detailed her characters had become, how cohesive the story line was and simply how fun and easy the book was to read. I loved it and it is probably my favorite of her books at this point. Keep it up !

I was given an advance readers copy of this book for my honest review. I honestly loved it and can't wait to see what the next book is that will come from this fabulous author.

I have had the pleasure of reading previous books by Hilary so I was delighted when I was offered an advance copy of Go on, Girl to read and give my thoughts on. So totally voluntarily and not much encouragement needed I dove into this book expecting it to lift my mood and provide a good measure of Hilary style humour.

The writing flows so beautifully from Hilary’s pen, her characters are always so full of life, in this instance it is Sydney Clayton, a high powered working mom, who wants the best for her 6 year old daughter. But like so many other families she is having to juggle her time between husband, work, daughter, home life … so no personal time at all.

Hilary explores so many issues which we all face in this busy time period, it always feels a lot more dramatic because it’s my snapshot picture into the American life-style, I’m from the UK and while it is always a case of playing catch up here, I just feel it’s extenuated across the pond.

This will appeal to mom’s all across the world, if we work our butts off we will always want what is best for our kids and sometimes circumstances throw curve balls and life goes a completely different way. I love the way Sydney jumps into the dreaded PTA and takes on so many crazy aspects of that just to ensure her kiddo is top of everything. Even if you aren’t a parent I think there is enough depth and sarcastic humour included that keeps the situation rolling.

Even though my kids have grown I learnt a lot about human behaviour and that is purely down to the fabulous insight and writing style Hilary has shared with the reader. Her talents shine through and each book gets better as her maturity and confidence become more evident.

Go on, Girl is a gem of a book to keep even the most demure entertained .. this will keep you reading until the wee small hours without even looking at the clock!

Another super shiny 5* score from me … keep them coming I can’t wait to see what Hilary tackles next.

My thanks to the author for this ARC .. I read and reviewed voluntarily.

I am absolutely in love with Hilary Grossman’s books. In her latest novel Go On Girl, Hilary tells a humorous story of Sydney and the elite moms of her daughters school.

Somehow. Sydney cannot say no. In the blink of an eye, Sydney finds herself in the PTA to help her daughter fit in at her school. This book gives you an example of a working mom life. The characters are all relatable and the story flows together. This is easy read and I was not able to put this down. I’m glad I read it on the weekend as I stayed up late to finish. Even if you are not a parent, this book will make you laugh.

As with all of Hilary’s books, you will not be disappointed.

Sydney Clayton wants what we all want: the very best happy upbringing for her child. Unlike most of the helicopter moms, she has a full-time, responsible job and hasn't made a lot of contacts among other parents. Desperately wanting her daughter, Amanda, to make friends, she finds herself - reluctantly - being manoeuvered into the PTA as treasurer. At the same time, Syd and her husband find themselves with a ballpark offer on their home and the opportunity to move nearer family and away from the insular and competitive town they live in. Can they make the right decisions for their family?

Although I live in Scotland and not the states, this takes me back to the playground mothers and their one-upmanship - but not at this level! The petty bickering of the parents puts any issues the kids have well in the shade. This is an excellent story of the dilemma facing many parents who are trying to smooth the social path for their kids but who struggle to do the same for themselves. This author is spot-on with her observations and this is a bright, entertaining read rooted in reality and I've really enjoyed it. The writing is smooth and accomplished and the result is a very easy to read novel. Certainly this is an author I want to keep an eye on - she tells it like it is, and with great humour!

My thanks to Hilary Grossman for my copy, which I freely chose to read. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

Go On, Girl by Hilary Grossman is a fun and familiar story of one mom’s journey through the never-ending craziness of her 6yr old daughter’s 1st grade school year. Bombarded by work, her husband’s push to sell their home, and ALL the many hats moms’ wear, Sydney is only trying to give Amanda the best 1st grade year possible. When she is suddenly and a bit unwillingly thrust into Forest River’s elite PTA squad, numerous birthday parties and too many school events to count, Sydney is unsure if being part of this clan of women will solve all her problems or just lead to overwhelming new ones. Will she survive with her sanity intact?
As I started reading Go On Girl, I thought it was the story of some crazy PTA parents and the drama that ensues but it’s really about Sydney’s journey through her year of
uncertainty and change and finding friendship and purpose where she least expected it! I was pleasantly surprised by the character bonds and relationships that were formed. Hilary Grossman proves that not everyone is as they seem and unfortunately some people are exactly as they seem! This was just what this PTO mom needed before the craziness of school starts up! #goongirl #ptomomlife

A very cute and fun book! 3.5 stars. It took me away from all the psychological thrillers that i have been reading! Thanks Hilary! Back in the day when my kids were in grade school I was a "room mom". I volunteered for field trips, helped in the library, organized school parties, and always on call for whatever was needed. No "mean" Moms in my school thank goodness! Now on to another psychological thriller! Just can't stay away!

Everyone has that one person who makes a fuss about everything! For Sydney, it is an entire group of parents at her daughter's elementary school. All they care about is manicures, pedicures, and ruling the school politics. Grossman digs deep with this one, discovering the true meaning of friendship (in the midst of the all of the blonde hair). :) What causes someone to feel like they have to be the bully when it comes to other women...other parents? What is the best solution to resolve social conflict? Sydney finds out first hand by plunging head first. This story is entertaining, humorous, and a work of fiction; however, it still brings up the underlying topics that women face in today's society.

Sydney is just your average woman--a loving mother to a first-grader, hard worker, remodeling expert (with her husband) and an all around family gal. What she isn't so hot at is parental politics and THAT is exactly what she gets roped into. Realizing that their family may not be the right fit for Forest River, Sydney and Craig decide to entertain selling their beautiful home and moving closer to Sydney's parents and work. Everything is about Amanda, so Sydney and Craig feel pressured to keep the silence about their decision until it is absolutely final. Sydney knows that Amanda would get the brunt of all of the mean things that kids say if she told anyone, especially the PTA mothers who are glamorous, blonde-haired, model women of the town with Jackie as the Queen Bee. After a falling out with a member of the PTA, Sydney gets a proposition from Jackie...one that can't really be refused. She has to replace Donna, the member who shamed the PTA, in order for Amanda to be able to go to her best friend's birthday party. Sydney feels trapped because she knows that not accepting the position could cause negative ramifications to her daughter not being able to enjoy her first year in school. Knowing that she will probably end up wanting to strangle the PTA mothers by the end of the year, she is surprised when friendships begin to bloom instead. She begins to have doubts about everything that she previously believed about these women and about their decision to move. Are they making the right choice, especially after seeing an outrageous bid on their house, one that may be a once in a lifetime chance to really start over?

Grossman has an interesting story, filled with a lot of emotional turmoil and offhanded judgement. Her reflections within this story are very clear, allowing the reader to understand the meaning of "you can't judge a book by its cover". The characters are well-developed and the story is well-written with little to no errors. The story is a fast read, but a quite entertaining one. If you are a reader of Women's Fiction and Humor/Satire, you are sure to enjoy this story. It is a standalone, so feel free to jump right in.

An advanced reader's copy was provided to Turning Another Page by the author and in no way affects the honesty of this review. We provide a five-star rating for Go On, Girl by Hilary Grossman.

First off, thank you to Hilary Grossman for reaching out to request an honest review of this book on my blog, Home Sweet Houser! If you haven't already, check out her author page on Facebook for updates on all her books!

Go On, Girl is a book that most of us can relate to. It is the story of a mother named Sydney trying to support her young daughter in the best way she knows how. She works full time. She takes care of her household. And she has recently found herself in the role of scribe for the school's PTA. Okay... maybe she was semi-blackmailed into that last one by the queen of the PTA Moms, Jackie. And when her and her husband get an offer to sell their house they can't refuse, how will she break the news to Jackie? How will her daughter take the news of the move?

Hilary Grossman did such a great job creating characters that were both likable and despicable at the same time (and that's a compliment). She struck such a nice balance that the characters felt extremely realistic. I think we all can relate to having both good and bad qualities. I found Jackie horrendously egotistical and pompous in the beginning of the book, but she ending up displaying really redeeming qualities of loyalty and friendship. Sydney in my opinion had no backbone and let people push her around and walk all over her which was infuriating, but she eventually found self respect and peace.

This book flew by in a breeze. At under 300 pages, it is a super fast read that I devoured overnight. And the conversational writing style makes reading very easy. And I really like the design of the cover. There's something "suburban chic" about it that I love.

My biggest disappointment was that at times I felt like the story was too "surface level." I felt like I would have liked to have gone deeper with the stories of the other PTA moms, with the relationship with Kara and the dynamic with Andrew. We got the tip of the iceberg with some of these character and I wanted more.

There were two quotes that really stuck out to me that I feel are pertinent to share in this review:

"I learned first impressions weren't always accurate, and often it took a lot of time and effort to understand a person."

"I'd spent so much of the past seven years living my life in a blur, trying to cram as much as humanly possible into a day. I'd missed out on so much in the process, like having dear girlfriends. It wasn't until you knew something was about to end that you realized how fortunate you were to have had it in the first place."

Overall, I would recommend this one to anybody looking for a lighthearted and quick read with dashes of humor.

Previously posted on Books are my life

Sidney is a wife and mother of the first grader, Amanda. She thought that only managing between her work and free time for her family is only concern that she gets until she does an ultimatum “be part of Forest River PTA or your daughter will be banned from the social top ten girls”. While Sydney considering how to deal with the new situation in the town with the mothers she gets a call from the most “important” mother, Jackie.

I was captured from the first sentence of this book:

“Whoever had the idiotic idea to invent text messages? If I could, I’d strangle them. Back in the day, when people had to rely on the telephone, they were forced to hold back their insecurity and issue, even if only a bit. But now, with the ease of a few keystrokes, everyone was able to share their thoughts and opinions at breakneck speed, without any consideration for their reputations. Not to mention how it made other people feel.”

I agree who was that who invented those things I hate typing especially when the check spelling is on and can control it on my phone, so when I get a text message I call the sender immediately. I keep reading even if I think what could be so interesting with Sydney, she is married, has a child, good job, but I was surprised. I couldn’t put the Kindle down till the end.

Sydney is an assiduous worker, dedicated mother, and careful wife.

“I kissed the top of Amanda’s head; she was growing so fast. She was such a confident little girl. I prayed she’d remain that way forever.”

She is that kind of character that felt so real; with her husband, they look so compatible so cute together that is hard not to think of them as real people. They built their homemaking effort to be cozy and special to raise their only daughter and at the moment they were proud of how it looked.

“It was impossible to take my eyes off the two women who were huddled together, conspiring. Neither was making a move to leave my front yard. I was probably paranoid, but it looked like they were concocting a plan to take over the world, well, at least my world.”

I felt irritation and hate while I read about Jackie. She was controlling and such a drama queen, everything should be just how she said.

I like very much Sydney’s sister Bethany particularly the description of her as a believer in this quote:

“She was a big believer that everything happened for a reason and the universe gave us hints about what was coming up next.”

This was one of the most genuine, family fiction I ever read, so I recommend it to everyone who likes to read a warm and PTA drama, family story.

Go On Girl!

Hillary Grossman

5 stars

I’ve enjoyed each of Author Hilary Grossman’s books, but Go On, Girl! is my favorite! I expected her usual fun characters, and humorous snapshots of life in today’s world. But there is so much more to this well-crafted book. Ms. Grossman has taken the usual foibles, drama, and problems of the daily life of a modern woman and her family and given us a story that is delightful to read. But, such is her writing skill, she also presents us with a thoughtful and meaningful view of our world today and how we react to it.

Magic! Go on Reader, grab it! Perfect for book clubs, too!

Sydney has an executive job, a lawyer husband who is her rock and all-around great guy, and an adorable daughter Amanda. They live in a suburb and have had a busy, but pleasant and manageable life until daughter Amanda enters first grade. No, the daughter does fine with school. It’s the mother, Sydney, who has to deal with all the pitfalls and drama of the school scene. Sydney gets wrangled in to joining the PTA by the President and Queen, Jackie.

Much of the story focuses on the problems and drama of the PTA., stories which are funny and sad. In addition to dealing with “Snack with the Snowflakes” and the Annual Penny Auction, Sydney must also deal with the ups and downs of real estate, when a couple wants to buy her home, which is not for sale. (If you love HGTV, this part of the story is awesome.)

Sydney is likable. She is a wife and mother who puts her family first, but also takes the time to reflect and grow. Here’s what she learned:

“Having a group of gals to let off steam with and run ideas by, not only made me a happier person, but helped me be a better mother.”

“I learned first impressions weren’t always accurate and it often took a lot of effort to understand a person.”

And here’s what I learned. Some things haven’t changed since I was a mom of school-age kids. But, social media has magnified many of the interpersonal issues. I am going to remember to pray for young mothers, it’s a confusing world now.

Readers, see why this is a five star read? Not only will you love it while you read it, but it will stick with you a bit, after you are finished. You Go, Hilary and please keep on writing. Highly recommend.

I received a review copy from the author. This is my honest review.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book but I was hooked in the first chapter. I loved the humour, down to earth characters and the drama that while seems extreme is actually spot on. It felt like I was watching a version of my own years on the PTA but a richer version.

I still remember when I was on my first maternity leave with my second son (I had my first son in my second year at University so no break for me!), I was so excited to be getting some downtime from working full-time, studying part-time and owning a part-time business. Apparently though, this meant to some of the other moms at our very small school that this meant I could take on more responsibilities with the school - especially as some of the Moms of the older kids weren't getting along with the principal and felt that they had done enough. I gave into a PTA meeting and left as the President. Yes - I caved to the pressure but I could never imagine the drama that would begin! The cliques, the not sharing information, the attitudes and the list goes on and on. I need a drink now just thinking of it!

As I read Sydney's story and her interactions, I found myself laughing out loud as I had lived some of that. You think why do we do this? Why do we let ourselves get suckered in and deal with the drama? For our kids! I just wanted to contribute to a positive community for my children and spend some extra time with them - what a kick in the butt that became.

While it can come with the drama, it also had its positives like Sydney found out. You realize that you are more alike then you realize, that some of those women become the best of friends and support you through anything and we learn a lot about people and how they behave and interact with others. I wouldn't change it for a minute.

This is an amazing novel that you will not want to put down - you will laugh, cry and relate to so many moments in Sydney's life. She becomes your best friend and you don't want the story to end! I would love to see a second installment in her story as she leaves off with a major change in her and her family's life.

Go On, Girl is a humorous chick lit/women's fiction story that explores the complexity of living in the suburbs and dramatizes the relationships within the cutthroat world of suburban moms.

Sydney Clayton is an executive, wife, and mother of six-year-old Amanda. Sydney tries to do everything for her family, especially when it comes to ensuring Amanda's happiness as she starts first grade. While Sydney and her corporate attorney husband Craig have lived in Forest River, NY for the past ten years, they kept to themselves and never really became a part of the community ... that is until Sydney is blackmailed into joining the Forest River PTA as its new treasurer to ensure Amanda's happiness in school. Told in the first person narrative, Sydney takes the reader along for the ride as she delves into the cutthroat and dramatic world of the suburban mom life. And if that isn't enough, a couple is interested in buying Sydney and Craig's house and makes them an offer that they can't refuse! So what's a busy working mom supposed to do when she needs to balance her professional, family, and community life?

I absolutely loved reading Go On, Girl! This was such a fun story, you can't help but lose yourself in the drama and politics that Sydney encounters when she joins the Forest River PTA. With a lot of eye-rolling, smirking, and outright snickering, I really enjoyed following Syndey and her co-PTA members as they ruled the roost at Forest River Elementary. It was fun to watch as Sydney navigated through her professional and family commitments along with the drama and politics of the Forest River PTA and community while gaining self-confidence, and embracing the bonds of close girlfriends that she never thought she would ever have.

Go On, Girl is a wonderful story of family, the invaluable bonds of friendships, and the ability to make it through anything that life throws at you along the way.

O...M...Geeeeeee! I am so in love with this book!

Ever read a book that you didn't want to put down because you wanted to keep reading? If you are anything like me, sleep is important to function as an adult so even at the wee hours of the night, I had to force myself to put down the kindle and catch some Zzzz's so that I could continue moving forward and function.

Go on Girl is an amazing, fun, totally relatable story about a woman who is trying to do it all and not lose herself in the process. Juggling a demanding full time job, marriage and raising a 6 year old, Sydney is just trying to do the best for everyone which includes agreeing to sell their beloved home and move AND joining the PTA to ensure her daughter gets into the "in crowd" of her 1st grade class. Crazy right?

Hilary works in the funny semantics to how some woman really are when it comes to what they do for their kids. Sydney learns first hand by the end of the school year who she can trust and who her real friends are. She also learns a lot about herself and what really matters in life. The daily struggles we all have and how important it is to have those connections with our family's and friends to help us get through it all.

The humor, frustrations and surprises along the way were written beautifully. The characters all had a class of their own and I wanted to be right there in the circle where everything took place. Hilary really knocked this one out of the ballpark and had me laughing hysterically through out the journey. I can say as a mom to two adult children now that what little time I spent on the PTA wasn't as enjoyable as Hilary's book. Girlfriends are hard to come by because we are always competing with each other and Hilary shared how it could be with the right group of ladies.

I honestly didn’t know how or if I would relate to this book since I am not a mother and have no knowledge of school PTAs. But, as a huge fan of Hilary Grossman’s books, I knew I had to give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised and hooked from the very start. I couldn’t imagine doing the things Sydney did in order to fit in and make sure her little girl, Amanda, enjoyed school and made lots of friends.

As women, we tend to put ourselves in situations we may not be comfortable in and often we find out it was just what was needed. Sydney found herself being coerced into the treasurer position on the PTA and it was a lot more work than she expected. But, the friendships she made were well worth it and Amanda was also happy.

When Sydney and her husband receive an offer to buy their house, they couldn’t turn it down. Add the drama of gossipy, bickering and backstabbing women, to house hunting, the hassle of disasters, repairs and renovations to Sydney’s already full schedule; it’s almost enough to break her. But Sydney stays strong and follows her dreams.

From this book, I took away the value of friendships and the importance of having strong, inspirational women in your life. I thoroughly enjoyed Sydney’s journey and was sad when the book ended. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the new friends I found in the story. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun filled read. And, you don’t even have to be a mother to enjoy it.

I love the new turn that Hilary took this time around and shifted her focus on us moms and that craziness that sometimes follows us around.

We may not have experienced the exact same situations, but we have all seen, known, been or are PTA moms and that world is cut throat. People think that it's all rosy and play dates with cupcakes and unicorns but those women are CRAZY!

I personally joined once for a very short time and realized that I needed to save the little sanity I have left (mom of three) and not waste it at those meetings.

Now, I must digress one more moment and say that Sydney's sister is named Bethany (named after me and I couldn't be more excited!)

Sydney is a mom that is trying to do it all - work more than fulltime, have a great relationship with her husband, and make sure her daughter has everything to make her happy! Check, check and check.

Then one day she gets a call from Jackie, the PTA Queen, and she blackmails her into joining the PTA, her daughters happiness depends on it. SEE, CRAZY!

There are so many twists and turns, ups and downs, and that's just the first few chapters!

Pick up a copy today, you won't be disappointed! (I can't give away all the fun juicy tales).

If you’ve followed my reviews, then you probably know I have read all of Hilary Grossman’s books and have loved them all! After reading her debut novel, Dangled Carat, Hilary has easily become one of my go-to authors!

“Go On, Girl” was quite different from her previous books and I found it to be quite refreshing. At first, I was a little hesitant because I don’t have kids and didn’t think I could relate, but the drama between Sydney and other moms from her daughter’s school was not only entertaining but a page-turner, too! There were times I told myself that I’d read one more chapter and then go to bed…but, of course, I kept on, so there were plenty of late nights with this one.

I don’t give spoilers, but if you’re one who enjoys reading about drama mamas and school politics, then I recommend this book to, (you will not be disappointed!) Also if you’re looking for something to distract you from the carpool line, it would make for a great timekiller.

“Go On, Girl” was one of my favorite books I’ve read this year, so I’ll be adding it to my top of 2018 list.

I give “Go On, Girl” 5 stars!

I just finished reading Go On, Girl by Hilary Grossman and have to say it was a fun book! It's got PTA/PTO drama, best friend angst and kid involvement via the playground, classroom, dance class and soccer.

Although my kids are grown and have kids of their own, it didn't take much reading before the memories of when they were in elementary school came flooding back. There are funny parts where the adults behave more like children and parts about parents' worries for their children.

If you are a parent or even if you aren't and want a cute story that we can all relate to, I'd recommend Go On, Girl.

This was a very enjoyable book. The author captured the “Mean Girl” aspect of PTAs extremely accurately. I thought she also did an excellent job of exploring the difficulties that moms have in finding and building friendships. That is actually the part of the story that I liked the most, because it is the absolute truth! Syd’s realization that she may be misjudging people for misjudging her also rang true and was very realistic. I don’t do plot recaps, but suffice to say that everything plays out nicely, and everything is resolved by the end. It was a great read to bring on vacation, and I am looking forward to reading more from this author!

Thanks so much to the author for this ARC.

I love "mommy chick lit" even though I'm not a mommy.

A fun book to read. I learned a lot about the PTA and "mean" moms. I laughed out loud all throughout the book with the PTA antics and also Sydney's mother-in-law and their quest to not to sell their perfect house but getting an offer they couldn't resist. Amanda, their 6 year old daughter was so precocious and took everything in stride much more so than Sydney sometimes. Sydney did take her good old time in telling her "best" friend Jackie that they were moving not knowing how she was going to take it. Jackie was a such a hot/cold person that I wasn't sure if I liked her or not. LOL

It's interesting the way the characters all tied into each other at the end and I want to know what happens in the future.

I love the cover and the simplicity of the colors. It really caught my eye when I first saw it.

I thought this book had potential, but ultimately, the story of a working PTA mom trying so hard to fit in to make sure her first grade daughter's social life is ok fell a bit flat to me. I found the book plodding and a little without much point beyond a slice of life story about upper middle class families and house renovations. It wasn't boring, but it also wasn't ever gripping, as the conflicts were all very mundane in nature, and often only issues because the characters made them so. 2 stars.

This is a perfect family humor that I have read recently. Sydney is a working mom and a parent of little girl Amanda who is a first grader in Forest River Elementary school. While she is busy managing work and office, her life takes a turn when she becomes treasurer in Forest River school PTA. The office work, PTO meetings, work related to PTO, gossips, and warnings of other PTO moms drive Sydney crazy. As luck would have it, she and her husband Craig have to deal with the pressure of selling their home and preparing to move to a new place at the same time.

Even though Syd joins the PTA committee reluctantly, she makes great friends. She goes beyond the initial judgments and forms a friendship with Jackie. Her straightforward nature and the cool way of handling problems make her a good friend to Jackie.

The story, dialogues, and narration are all witty. Craig is a sweet as an understanding partner to Syd. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book even though it is not a thriller and has a predictable story. I fell in love with Syd and could relate to her anxiety when it came to taking a decision for her daughter.

We all go through pressure when things move fast in our life and we have to take some important decisions. But, we never look back and see how these circumstances help us to find real friends and form great bonds in our life. In all this process while Syd forms new friends, especially Jackie, Kara and Rosemary, Craig gels well with Andrew.

This is a fantastic read for a beach vacation or long drives. If you are a mom of Elementary school child, you would surely love this!

My Rating: 4.5/5

PS: I have received this free book from the author in exchange for a review and this is my honest opinion of the book.

Another fun book by Hilary! She writes books that make me laugh and sympathize with the characters.

I had a love/hate relationship with Sydney. Many times she made me insane with her need to be around her child or available to her child all the time and how much she catered to her daughter. I grew up in a different time with a different mindset and believe that a child will be better off if they have to deal with certain issues on their own, even at age 6!

But as I delved further into the book, it was more about Sydney's transformation from a helicopter parent with no friends, taking on a role she didn't want (PTA Treasurer), to gaining several friends, and relaxing and reducing her rigidity (is that even a word?!) I appreciated her growth as a mother, wife, and friend. I like that she took no prisoners in certain situations and broke through some defenses for herself and her friends.

Craig, Sydney's husband, may have a minor role in this book but he comes out strong and I really felt like I knew him. Several times he was roped into doing something he may not have normally done because of his profession as a lawyer, but we never see him complain. He even puts up with Sydney and her antics at various times.

I feel like this story could have continued, but where it ended what a good place and leaves it open for another book should there be more story to tell.

I must admit to being pretty excited when I read the synopsis of Go On, Girl. I’m always up for reading one of Ms. Grossman’s novels, as she is quite talented, but her foray into Mom Lit piqued my interest even more. From the first few pages, I was impressed by her realistic rendering of the chaotic, emotional and often frustrating life of a mom with school-aged children. I planted myself in a chair with a glass of wine and let this delightful author spin Sydney’s tale of anticipation, disbelief (oh no, she didn’t!) and downright hilarity as she navigated the unpredictable waters of the Forest River PTA. (I will not cop to the amount of snorting which *may* have occurred.) I found myself cheering Sydney on as she juggled the stress of her job, her family, some heavy-duty mama drama and a last-minute potential move. With its magical mix of heart, humor and hope, Go On, Girl will leave you feeling ready to tackle whatever life throws at you.

Full disclosure: I received a free Kindle copy of GO On, Girl in exchange for a fair review on my blog. All opinions are my own. I loved this books so I thought I would put reviews on here and Amazon.
This is Hilary's fourth book and once again, she doesn't disappoint.

This book is about a working mom, Sydney. She is happily married with a 6 year old daughter who means the world to her. She ends up on the PTA with a bunch of snobby women, but puts up with them so her daughter will be accepted by their kids. During the school year, she discovers there is more to these women than their Prada bags.

I am not a big fan of fiction, but I do always enjoy Hilary's books. They always make me think of how they apply to my own life. This one made me realize that I am too judgemental of people. I do tend to be put off by women that have the latest styles, but maybe there is more to them than meets the eye.

I always look forward to a Hilary Grossman release, and reading the synopsis for Go On, Girl had me eager to read this one. Thought I am yet to have any children myself, I have such a good time reading mommy-lit style of fiction. Sydney is mother to her first-grade daughter, a wife and a busy executive in the corporate world. And then she joins the PTA. It was interesting to see the dynamic Sydney has with the other moms in the PTA and how friendships grow, the extra miles she is willing to go for her daughter, and the other moms in the story made up a great secondary cast. One part of the book that really intrigued me was Sydney’s house that she had fixed up with her husband, and their dilemma of possibly selling it and finding another house to create their own. We have been doing very minor renovations on our home, so it was fun to get an almost Fixer Upper vibe throughout parts of the story. A perfect read for a little escapism and one I recommend.

I don't think I could love this book any more than I do. A fantastic read that moms alike will be able to relate to. Grossman has you laughing, biting your nails, yelling at your e-reader, and rooting for the characters. I even ended up liking a character by the end that I originally hated! Grossman's writing is a fresh of breath air on a warm summer day!

I received this after winning a goodreads giveaway and it was such an enjoyable read. I was worried I wouldn't connect since I'm not a mom, but I just fell in love with Sydney. She was so relatable! Well written, funny and a quick read. Would definitely read more from this author!
