So far this cookbook has been kinda meh for me. Just tried the meat-stuffed pumpkin recipe and was confused by the use of panko, shichi togarashi and sesame oil. It feels like the author went out of his way to include Japanese specific ingredients you wouldn't normally use for a recipe like this that don't quite work that well. Panko really isn't a good substitute for regular breadcrumb stuffing, it's more for frying. I cooked it for over 40 minutes like the recipe said and the carrot and potato definitely weren't done! The second recipe I linked has you cooking the veggies and meat before stuffing and baking.
If you're looking for a meat-stuffed pumpkin recipe that has a bit of asian style to it I'd recommend this one.

A great introduction to cooking with a theme I love! I love that it’s structured like a journey through Hyrule’s regions. The only thing is that the entrees do not vary as much as they could have. Once you get through the first couple regions, you’ve kinda done them all. The in-game cuisine in Japanese inspired, and that reflects in the recipes. TLDR, beginner friendly, wish there was more variation.

I was a little disappointed with this cookbook, to be honest. Most of the recipes were not for beginner-level cooks, and a lot of the dishes called for specialty ingredients that would need to be ordered online or purchased from a specialty shop. Even though the recipes were mostly based on meals from BotW, the recipes themselves seemed less appealing than the video game versions.

This book was so much better than I expected it to be, with lots of great general cooking tips too. I loved the effort of all of the styled pictures. There's lots of recipes I want to try (which always sounded tasty when playing the game) and I appreciate that they look like actually good recipes and not just basic ones for a quick cookbook.

The recipes and pictures look and sound wonderful, but there’s a lot of ingredients that I can’t find in my area. I think this book would be more suited to someone who lives near an asian market, a Japanese area, or Japan itself

I loved how pretty the book was, with the beautiful photos of the dishes and cosplayers, but most important, loved all the recipes!

A medium-range cookbook. Not fantastic, not terrible. Very artsy, full of heart, and reasonable recipes - for the most part.

Always love to see passion projects inside other peoples 4 walls that aren't publicized as largely. Theres always someone out there willing to put time into these things, regardless of the return.
