Beale is one of the few authors I absolutely will never ever read, for claiming that (among his other racist and sexist assertions) all black people are savages and not human. For example.
An interesting story about a rebellious teenage boy led astray by a 'friendly understanding fallen angel' in the guise of a cool dude. The whole premise of spiritual warfare brought to life intrigues me and the author managed it in a way that made it come to life in my imagination. All the differing 'classes' of angels set in a hierarchy and a chain of command made sense to me as they were arranged by authority in conjunction with the power they controlled. Of course, I knew how the overall story had to end, as a Christian we know without doubt that the Almighty wins in the end and overcomes all the wiles of the devil. Despite knowing the outcome, I enjoyed the road getting there.
I think the target audience for this book was maybe a pre-teen boy who plays war games. I found some of the points on religion interesting and a few perspectives that were worthy of reflection. However, overall I found most of what transpired in the war difficult to follow which caused a great struggle to even finish reading it.
