DARK PARANORMAL ROMANCE.
FANS OF THALASSA AND HUTCHINS WILL DEVOUR THIS SERIES!

'I want to hurt people, those awful, unspectacular humans. But the Hunters ...? Oh, what I wouldn't give to tear them limb from limb.'

The land is divided into two, split by the dangerous mountains that cut us into two: Home of the Hunters and the home of the Witches, forever at war.

Once, I belonged to the lands where people and Hunters live -- until the Change came and my family whisked me away to the mountains, seeking safety for my rising witchery. They didn't make it beyond the mountains and the Hunters that lurk there, ready to slaughter my kind and anyone who helps us.
I made it, though.
And I promised on the very day that I was orphaned, I will dedicate my life to the utter destruction of all Hunters across the land, even if it costs me the last breath in my body.

...that final breath seems to be inching closer when a mission to save Witches before the Change goes so terribly wrong, and I wind up a prisoner of a Hunter so beautiful that his face is just asking to be torn apart.
I doubt I'll survive what wicked tortures he has in store for me. But he can bet his charming smile that when I go down, I'm taking him with me.
Even if it's the last thing I do.

QUINN BLACKBIRD is a wanderer, a caffeine addict, a concern to her teachers & a bit of a dork.
You can find Quinn buying gym equipment she never uses or being dragged out of the writing cave by pesky friends.
Mention "margarita" and she'll come ah-runnin.

QB's goal is to live on a farm with rescue animals and write!

Now beware!! Blackbird writes about everything she loathes. This makes for books that are darker, grittier, anti-heroes, messed-up characters, and dark worlds. It's not a guarantee you'll find redemption in her pages. Because, as Gaslight Her warns, 'sometimes, the villains win.'

Witch Hunter is the first book in the author's new dark paranormal romance (novella) series and I really enjoyed it. I can never get bored of enemies to lovers, and dark romance especially from Quinn's world. Her male characters are always dark and intriguing. If you're into enemies to lovers, hate to love, and villain gets the girl kinda books then you must check out this author's works.

This story is about a vengeful witch whose parents are killed by the hunters, and a powerful hunter with a mysterious intrigue. They're sworn enemies. When their mission goes haywire, the witch becomes the captive of the beautiful hunter who makes her rage inside with deep hatred. Being a captive is even worse than death and our heroine is definitely someone who wouldn't give up without a fight.

It's a short read and I quickly devoured it in less than an hour. The writing was easy to follow and I'm already in love with the characters and the world. The first book felt like a teaser, but I'm super excited to know how the mc's journey begins in the next one because they barely had a real conversation. Can't wait for their long bickering in book 2 😁!!!

I am really not feeling this series. I know it’s a novella series but with her others there was so much emotions and the plot was riveting enough that I just wanted the next one. This series feels too short and both the main characters are just not interesting. I will wait for the third one because I am hoping that things will pick up and I will see more depth in characters and plot.

Magnifier is the second book in the Witchhunter mini series. The story continues from where it was left off in the first book. Fox, our fiesty witch with temper is now captive of the mysterious witch Hunter named Henrik. He's taking her to the base where she'll face the trial which is nothing but a death sentence. During their journey, she isn't making things easy for him. She isn't afraid to show that she doesn't fear him. She's totally a badass, and also pretty ruthless when it comes to traitors. Henrik finally shows his cold side, and gone the soft hearted guy we've met in the first book. I don't blame him when you're dealing with someone like fox🤣 I'm so loving the hate vibes between Fox and Henrik especially their awkward and embarrassing scene in the second half. Can't wait to see how their relationship progresses in the next book!

Overall, it was a great sequel! I hate that it was soo short and that cliffhanger had left me wanting for more. I hope the next book is a bit longer because I want to know more about this world and the characters.

Missing last 2 books

Been waiting for the next two books and it won't update on my Kindle. Amazon rep says download isn't available. The end of book 2 says they'll be available in June and July. So disappointed

So this way of releasing novellas isn't for me. Short, choppy and then done so quick. I much prefer a longer story to get into but I didn't know when I started it was only an hour long.

In that hour I wasn't drawn in to want to read the next. You can't get attached to much because there is no description really. I would say skip this if you are like me and need more development for characters and world to get into.

Thank you to the author, Quinn Blackbird, for providing a copy of Witchhunter (Witchhunter book 1). I have reviewed honestly.

Witchhunter features, but is not limited to, the following themes:
○ Witches
○ Dark fantasy
○ New adult
○ Magic
○ Witch hunters
○ Novella series

My overall rating for Witchhunter is...
5 Stars

Quinn Blackbird has returned with an explosion of pure talent and epic storytelling! I cannot tell you how excited I was when Quinn reached out recently in regards to her latest novella series! Steering away from her multiple devious dark fae series, Quinn has created a tantalising new world of witches and witchhunters. As usual, with her tales being small episodes in a mini series, so to speak, this first chapter introduces us to an original new world with a powerful, kickass witch and a mysterious hunter. It's the perfect tease for what I know something incredible will come of. I cannot fault this little book!

I’ve written a review for the first two books…..

Witches live on one side, Hunters live on the other with a huge mountain range dividing them. They use to be allies, but something happened to make them enemies……

Dark paranormal romance, trigger warnings, so please be advised before grabbing this book.
It’s a four part series, and each part ends on a cliffhanger, you can buy them separately, but I’m glad I got the Boxset.
I read it in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down. It’s not overly long, but it’s packed with plenty of things going on…..

It’s definitely an enemies to lovers read. And the main characters have plenty of hate for one another.
Pretty fast paced and lots of action.

There are a few silly mistakes on the book, but it doesn’t take away from the main story.

Witches and Hunters are bitter enemies, both have lost loved ones, so when they get the chance to fight one another they will.
So when a battle sees our two main characters come face to face you won’t know the outcome, both are eventually matched, so it could go either way…..
But when she is taken hostage by the Hunters, she thinks it’s all over! But she won’t go without a fight.

There is torture, there is a few dark moments. But there is also a few light moments.
It’s good to see that both the main characters don’t give in to an immediate attraction. In fact if you’ve read this authors work before, then you’ll know her hero’s are hero’s at all!

So can she trick the Hunter into letting her go? Or will this be the last sunrise she’ll ever see?

I don’t want to give anything away, so if you like your stories dark, then give it a go, but I’d recommend the Boxset rather than the individual stories 😉

I'm so happy to be getting into Quinn Blackbird! So many positive reviews about her prolific work and finally I'm enjoying some reads by her. I tried to read her Dark Fae series and I could never get into it. Hm maybe I should try again?

Because I'm 2 for 2. I just finished Blackbird's Gaslight Her and I enjoyed Witchhunter even more! I'm going to continue this series because I want to know what happens to Anya and Henrik. This isn't a spoiler to say that they don't end up together at the end of this novel. It's a spoiler if you know that it's because . I'm not a big fan of romances with this ending but I really enjoyed their romance.

For a dark enemies to lovers, this felt right. Witch versus witchhunter. Both characters did not pull their punches but you could feel the palpable tension, especially from the hero. My second read by Quinn Blackbird and I am enjoying her mean but possessive heroes who love first and harder than the heroines who often have a purpose in their life that they don't sacrifice because some guy (I love Anya's POV) bats an eye at them. I love Anya's snark. There isn't much in terms of physical congress (once at the 80% mark) but the tension more than makes up for it!

**I received an advance copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.**

Witchhunter is the first of a four-part (expected) series with the same title. The author calls each part an episode, which appears to be the correct word for them-they are quite short and quick.😄

The story starts with a girl, who describes how she became a witch. The whole explanation of her 'change' was quite wanting, honestly.😶 Nevertheless, it's over in a few passages and we come to the present. This witch, Fox, is now on a mission with her sisters to rescue a fellow witch from hostile territory. Soon the witchhunters enter into the story to complicate their mission and we get our second protagonist, Henrik. Everything proceeds quite fast from there on.

The writing style is quite simple and easy to follow. My only thought when the book ended was, dang; it ended so soon! If the author manages to create anticipation, that's a major plus, and this episode in its 70 or so pages does that, very successfully.
As a series, this holds a lot of potential, simply covering the back stories of the main characters will be a handful, and then, how witchhunters came into existence or the whole history of the enmity between the factions of witches and humans. Looking forward to the next installment.

A one night stand

There is so much hatred I hesitate to give it 5 stars.

3 witches on an annual pilgrimage for new witches have to navigate a world of ordinary humans and witch hunters. As a serial, I am disappointed it stopped so soon, but I bought the first issue with full knowledge. I have sooooo many questions:
Why was the new witch manacled? Who manacled her?
Why the insta-hate towards a hunter who actually treated her nicely at first? Why blame him specifically?

There are some grammatical errors that don’t really harm the story. The witches are strong, capable role models, and I really wanted this witch full of hate to be honorable or have a higher purpose. While she cares for her fellow witches, she cares only for herself.

TBH, I will certainly buy the whole collection because I eat up these dark fantasies, and I was captivated enough to check out the next episode.

The unlikely duo, a fierce and kickass witch and broody and serious hunter, take us on an unforgettable journey filled with magic, hate, darkness, epic fight scenes and lust. Embers is the third book in the Witchhunter mini series. From the previous installment, we learn that the hunters has some mega plan to annihilate all the witches. Our mc is forced to help them find a magical artefact that could end them, but she has her own plans and she'll do anything to stop them.

Henrik and fox are amazing characters. During their journey, they can't help but hate each other. In order to survive, they need each other's help. Things get complicated when their mutual hate turns into irresistible passion. The enemies to lovers trope was well done. The ending was just wow!!! After everything they've been through, I didn't see that coming. The twists are getting better with each book. It's a good ending even though it left me quite frustrated. Can't wait for the next book!

what a story

Wow...what can I say?...this was not like anything I’ve read before. It was...brilliantly written; quirky, real characters; a storyline that grabs and holds you till the end; and that end...wow...tears and heartache. I implore you to read this and not feel those feels at the end of this. 5 stars. Highly recommend. Will probably buy the paperback now as I have visions of it being dog eared and tattered when I pass it to my daughter.

Well that was certainly an unexpected ending. I’m not quite sure how I feel about it but I don’t see how it could’ve ended any other way. This, I feel, is a great thing to be able to accomplish in writing a book. So many conflicting feelings. This was superbly done. The journey throughout this series was so great and I loved every bit of it.

Ummm. Wow. I loved the ending. I loved how the author avoided the whole “releasing a breath I didn’t realize I’d been holding” mess. Huge eye roll and audible grunt every time I read that. The pacing was perfect. It was a short book but they didn’t try to cram a bunch of events into a few pages and I love that. It gave me a wheel of time vibe with the expending your power type thing. There’s a lot of epicness in this and I can’t wait to see where this goes.
