From #1 bestselling mystery and suspense author Blake Pierce comes book #3 in a gripping new series: the FBI’s elite new unit targeting criminally-insane killers is summoned when a series of murders occurs that bears the signature of a psychotic killer. But something bothers FBI Special Agent Valerie Law about this case: this killer, she fears, may just be more normal than anyone suspects.
Faced with an unpredictable killer and a lack of information, Valerie must use her brilliant mind to connect the dots—and fast. Her only hope of catching him is to work backwards, and to delve into his past.
Will she crack the killer’s code in time to save the next victim?
Or will she be too late?

The pace in this book drastically improved from the last one! Very fun read and I LOVE the insight we get into Charlie's life :) I love the progress in Valerie's mental state too. She finally trying T^T You go, agent Law!
Valerie is not at her best and is meeting Tom's family at their home, she is anxious about her family situation, anxious to find information regarding her father, and worried about her psychological well-being. When she receives a phone call from Charlie she does not hesitate to join the team in a new case and leave her personal life in second place. This is a very difficult case to break and they follow many leads that end up solving other crimes but not the one they are working on. After a lot of effort and some bruises and almost broken bones, they finally reach the culprit and close the case. Valerie, however, has a lot of work to do in her personal life. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
Valerie & Tom go to visit Tom's parents. While eating dinner Valerie is asked about her family. She feels a panic attack is coming so she rushes outside for air and Tom brings her phone. Charlie is asking for help on an investigation near Tom's family home. Things seem to point to the killer being possibly one of the patients that a nearby Psychiatric hospital that closed its doors released too soon. There is a list of 103 patients to check out. Things heat up fast as other victims appear. This is a really great book that keeps your interest until the final page. Can't wait for #4, "No Sleep"!
The story in this book is quite good and keeps you reading. The FBI team in the book are written less as superheroes and more like actual fallible hi!an beings which is refreshing. Here are sever grammatical errors and the spacing gets winky in places. While this breaks the rhythm of reading, it does not interfere with the story.
I enjoyed the representation of mental health/mental psychosis as it wasn't filled with misinformation or drivel spun to make out the individual is 'crazy' or spin it in a 'light-hearted' or 'overly negative' way.
I can be smug that several of my theories from book 2 were proved correct in book 3.
This book is gripping and exciting at the same time. Like Lois Lane, Agent Law continues to put herself in danger. However, there is no Superman in this world. Self defense and friends Law successfully figures out the villain. This villain is a mixture of psychosis and trauma with pain and rage. Good book Blake. On to the next one.
I’m giving this one two stars. This book series has all sorts of identity issues. It’s set in the United States, but has a British English narrator. Not a problem necessarily, but they use all kinds of English language like “mum”, “boot of car”, but the narrator is supposed to have been born and raised in the US. Many other little details like this just make this book very confusing.
Third very good book in this amazing series! Keep getting better and better and the plots are very intense! The way the authors is playing with the characters keep us in the edge u til the very end! Thanks to the author for sharing his talent with us!
I can’t stop reading this series. Every night I say just one more chapter and read another 3. I love all the twists and how Val gets inside of the killers head to solve the case.
Full of errors a proofreader should have caught. Author uses every cliche available. Characters have the depth of a saucer— an apt cliché. Author tells the reader everything instead of showing. I read three books in the series and I’m done with the series now.
