General Comments: NO.6 is translated by Kodansha Comics; story by Atsuko Asano, illustrated by Hinoki Kino. This is Volume 2. Reviewing Manga is complicated; thus, reviewing each volume - individually - does not reflect the overall enjoyment of the series. As such, the star-rating should be utilised as a guideline only. If anything, you should pick up NO.6. The intent of this work is to be a drastic and dramatic tale of two boys who uncover a terrible conspiracy in the city of NO.6. See Volume 1 for a more personal review.

kind of really disappointed by the ending, I was expecting more from Elyurias she just kind of goes "ok" and then disappears and then we see 0 progress on the new city
the journey is definitely more exciting than the end result, and I assume Rat is joining with the forest people again but that's not really said so it just feels like he's fucking off for no reason just to prove a point to Shion
I understand Rat's anger now though, revenge is his life and that was cool to get him but I still don't know what to think about Shion and his weird mood shifts that have no explanation idk
and I wanted more of their relationship too!!

(Shion’s thoughts about Nezumi to Safu): ‘Most importantly… I just have to tell you about Nezumi. I want you to know all bout him. I met him one night during a big storm four years ago. Ever since then, I’ve felt like he captured me somehow. Safu, Nezumi’s words - his eyes - they bore into me! They shoot right through me. They pulverised me and saved me. He broke me down and rebuilt me. He breathed new life into me.’
From Shion: ‘Laugh at me Nezumi. Insult me. Tease me. A derisive snicker or a mocking grin, either is okay. Just let me hear your laughter. Let me hear it.’

shion remembering the time he asked nezumi to recite the scene from macbeth when macbeth’s wife had just died while holding a dying nezumi in his arms is fucking wild
also inukashi comforting shion by licking his wounds made me cry. okay. okay. im fine
AND SAFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU god i love safu so much i love her she is so selfless and pure and she did not deserve her fate

I found the last volume a smidgeonnnnn rushed, but all in all I really enjoyed this series and loved spending time with these characters! One day I'll seek out the anime for comparison, and maybe the novels too if there's an English translation out there somewhere.
Still great, love Rat and Shion. That ending is kinda annoying… and there are still some pages and scenes where i feel like ive missed something but I reminisced with the vibes lol. Id say 3.5 for the series but this last one is 4!
The series is not perfect - there are some things in the worldbuilding that are somewhat confusing, developments I don't like and the ending was wrapped up too fast. It kinda felt rushed for me after a certain point compared to the pace in the beginning.
The reason I'm still giving this series 5 stars are the character development and relationships built. Personally, I haven't encountered many couples in fiction that complement each other so well. It makes the ending even more bittersweet, even though I completely understand why Nezumi couldn't stay at that point.

Wunderschöne Story, wunderschöne Charaktere, sie interagieren so wunderbar. Just love it ABER....
