Okay, I'm not all that into math, but these math jokes are fricking hilarious!!! I have to figure out how to send one to my favorite math teacher from middle School. She'll definitely appreciate the humor. I keep trying to think of ways to show my appreciation for inspirational teachers, and this is a great way. Not only will they appreciate the book on a personal level, but they can also share the jokes with their students. All my favorite teachers had a great sense of humor.
I wish all math books were this much fun. I had no idea there were so many hilarious math jokes. The chapter titles say it all: Fractionally Funny, Algebraically Speaking, Mathematical Menagerie, Mathematically Improbable, Odd Numbers, Pi R Funny, Shape Up, Sum Funny Jokes, Weapons of Math Instruction.
I got this book as a Christmas stocking stuffer last year. Usually I get comic books, but I guess I've graduated to joke books. (-: Since I've never read a math joke book before, most of the jokes were new to me, and they were (for the most part) pretty hilarious. Someday when I have my own children, this will definitely become a holiday stocking stuffer tradition.
Here's a fun little fact. Did you know that out of all the classic joke books that Ralph Lane has published, this one was his bestseller for 2024? That's right, more than his original Dad Jokes book that started it all, more than his Dad Jokes Christmas jokes book, etc. I don't know why, but that blew my mind. I guess there are more of us math nuts than I thought.
I got this book as a Pi Day gift, and I love it. I keep it in my desk and share math jokes with my colleagues. We're all a bit nerdy, but in a good way. (-:
