Jonahmae Pacala (publishing as Jonaxx) was never fond of reading longnovels during her elementary years but found a deep connection with sshort sad stories. She discovered her flair for writing at the early age of ten. What was once a hobby has now grown into a passion for writing online.
This was my first jonaxx book and boy I wish if was my last. The relationship has no chemistry, was toxic and forced. And worst of all this was her most popular book.
Dear young girls please don't find men with problematic behavious like anger issues hot. They. Are. Not. I am used to toxic relationships (Because people always trap me just because they laugh when I rant) but I know young girls are idolizing this and I am not okay.
Pick a guy who loves you and gives you freedom. A guy who shows his vulnerability. Same thing if you are into girls. Atleast unlike heartless there wasn't romantacized cheating so yeah thanks for (not) doing that.
AND ALSO EZRA WAS THE MOST STABLE AND BEST GIRL-----
This book was one of Jonaxx’s earlier stories. I thought at first that I already read it but when I checked my Goodreads account, it wasn’t on my read record. So last year, I decided to check the first few pages to know if I really did read it or not. And yes, I didn’t. All the books that I read from hers were her latest works so that explains it. When I read the first few pages of this book, I can’t see any touch of Jonaxx in here. It was really corny and it sounded like your typical cliché Tagalog romance (no offense meant) and it really irked me at that time. (I’m sorry Jonaxx) But while I was stranded with my mom at the port because of the typhoon (which was really a maddening experience) and I was too busy or you could say too annoy to open my bag and grab the paperback that I chose to bring with me for my holiday, I decided to check my Wattpad instead and this story was the only available story that was saved in my phone offline.
The crazy thing about this book was not the story (though I felt that it was almost there) but my determination to still read it even though I’m almost in the verge of losing my blood (nosebleeding) because it was so corny, which is very far from the Jonaxx that I love.
But along the way, the story started to affect me and in turn, I learned to like it. It started with a cliché plot and then corny lines and scenes but I was really amazed how Jonaxx transformed this seemingly cliché story into a really good one. The first few chapters were honestly corny and was quite predictable which sent me haywire but it gets better and better on the later chapters. This is exactly the reason why I love Jonaxx. She may have gave us a hint that it’s a cliché story but she will absolutely blow your mind on what she had in store for you on the later chapters. It was surprisingly unpredictable now and was intense which differentiate Jonaxx from other Tagalog romance writers. There’s a lot of things happened in this story that I’m sure will took me a lifetime to discuss so let me just assure you that it was really a moving read. There’s still some corny lines and scenes once in a while but it was so much better than the first few pages.
Another thing I started to admire in this story was the many conflicts. In normal situation, it would have made me confused but for a seemingly cliché plot like this one, the addition of some interesting conflicts may be a good blend for this story. But of course I hated the cliché third party and the matapobre and malditang mother of the hero, but I still think that it was fine. I guess it was because the hero really fights for the heroine. There’s really so much more in this story, so if you could endure the first pages, I’m sure you’ll come up with the same verdict as mine too when you finish this story.
It was an entertaining read but it wasn’t as good as her latest stories, so that explains my 3 stars. There may be some corny lines and scenes but I can never deny the fact that I was amazed with all those scenes Jonaxx managed to compile in this one story.
For the characters, I guess you could say that it was the first time I didn’t fall for Jonaxx’s heroes. All the stories I’ve read from hers always leaves me wanting to get the heroes and claim them for me, but for this story, I didn’t. I guess it was because of my first impression, as what they always say, first impression lasts. I wasn’t really impressed when I was introduced to his character, I always think there’s something weird about him. Now reading the 5th chapter, I’m still not impressed. But later on, I’ve got to learn more about his character but I’m still not falling. He can be sweet, I know, but the chemistry, nah! It didn’t affect me at all. But in all fairness, I love that he always fights for the heroine. He’s possessive and a bit intimidating too like what most Jonaxx’s heroes are but he still didn’t won me over. Also, he drops some lines that sounds like a creepy stalker to me once in a while which really makes me cringe lol haha. But overall, I guess he was ok for the heroine, lol.
As for the heroine, she was fine I guess. But I don’t always agree with all the decisions she made, good thing the guy is really head over heels for her lol. My! Haba ng hair mo te. So I guess that’s it?
Just like every stories of Jonaxx, this one ended with one chapter based from the hero’s POV where he talks about how he started to fell in love with the heroine and all his thoughts about his love for her. For this one, I have to say that it was lacking. I understand how the girl started to fall for him but for the guy? My! I didn’t understand it at all, really. I mean, she should be a no-no for him considering the history of their parents, right? But he ended up falling in love…hard. But oh well, over the later pages, I was able to convince how he really loves her.
I don’t admit it openly, but I guess I’m a sexist when it comes to romance, haha. I always want the guy to always do the pursuing and this story gave me that big time! My! The hero in this story was so smitten that even how many times the heroine left him, he still wants her. If the situation was reversed, I’m sure I could conclude the girl blind of love but for this story, I didn’t at all. I’m not being sexist here, haha, it’s just that, the girl always left for a good reason, and if it was me, I’ll have no other choice, it’s always like “me against the world” for her. It pains me when one of the main characters’ parents guilt trip them into doing something but I have to say that saludo ako for the guy’s love for the heroine that he’ll really do anything for her.
The ending was ofcourse beautiful but we didn’t get the chance to really know what happens to his mother. But oh well, at least it’s still a happy ending. Not my favorite from Jonaxx, but it was still a really good read from Queen Jonaxx.
They are some parts that makes me laugh. I had mixed emotion towards this book. The author is really awesome. I even cried reading this. This is the first book in Good Lips Series. I'm also hoping to read the two other book.
I want to start this review by saying I understand na matagal na ang story na 'to, and I truly think na mas gumaling na magsulat si Ate J ngayon. Anyways, read this review with caution.
Sobrang daming red flags ni Rage and I'm not sorry to say that I did not like him 'til the very end. I don't know why niroromanticize pa rin natin ang mga ganon until now pero sana marealize din ng mga batang nagbabasa nito (I know may mas bata pa sa 12 years old na nagbasa nito. You can't fool me, guys. I have been there and done that. HINDI SIYA FUN.) na hindi dapat ninonormalize ang mga behavior na ganoon. Sana rin sa pagtanda natin ay mas makita na natin agad-agad ang mga red flags and we should know when to stop and say 'NO'.
Medyo disappointed ako sa story na 'to pero it was a good read, nonetheless. May mga parts na nagcringe ako kasi parang may kulang na scene at naging fast paced.
I hope to see more of Mia and Kid, and I'm kind of excited to read Roscoe's story kahit na feeling ko mas marami siyang red flags kaysa sa tatay niya.
BRANDON, YOU ARE NEXT!Although, mas excited ako sa story ni Logan.
One of the best of Jonaxx's early stories. I even bought the paperback version but little bit disappointed of cut scenes.. I'm looking forward to the uncut version of this in the future.
Reading Every Beast Needs a Beauty taught me that love doesn’t follow rules set by society—especially when it comes to social class. Just because someone comes from a poor background doesn’t mean they don’t deserve someone rich, respected, or powerful. In this story, Jonaxx perfectly portrayed how unfair the world can be to those who have less in life, especially when they fall in love with someone who seemingly has it all.
Sunny, the main female character, is one of the strongest heroines I’ve read. She’s poor, judged, and constantly criticized just for loving someone above her social status. People called her names—gold digger, cheap, unworthy—all because she dared to love Rage, someone rich and powerful. Even his own family didn’t accept her. It was heartbreaking, but also eye-opening.
Rage, on the other hand, was the “beast.” He was cold, dominant, and rough around the edges—but behind that was a man fighting for love. He wasn’t perfect, but he chose Sunny. He defended her. He proved that real love is louder than judgment. That no matter how broken or imperfect he was, his love for her was genuine.
This book showed me how cruel social standards can be. It also reminded me that love, when true, is worth fighting for—even when the whole world is against you. It made me emotional seeing Sunny stand up for her love, even if it meant breaking her heart a little more each time she was pushed away.
One of the biggest lessons I got from this story is this: Just because you have less doesn’t mean you are less. Love doesn’t measure bank accounts, status, or bloodlines. It measures effort, sincerity, and how far you’re willing to go to protect the person you love.
Reading this book made me realize how brave love can be. That sometimes, falling in love means fighting battles you never expected. But in the end, if it’s real, it’s all worth it.

Okay, here's the tea (don't bash meee). For my first Jonaxx story, it's not that bad. In fact, if I read this in 2016, I will be fantasizing about Rage for dayssss. 'Every Beast Needs a Beauty' is your typical damsel-in-distress story with Sunny being the poor but fortunately blessed with "angelic" face meeting Rage Del Fiero, her boss and CEO. The story is a quick read because other stories already has this plot. It may have my fave tropes but their relationship is too toxic and unreasonable for my taste, I skimmed right through it. The only redeeming quality and surprise is Mia and Kid! I love that couple sooo much I wanna hug them both and ship them forever. They are are very supportive, with the right amount of fluff and fights haha. Overall, it's good but forgettable story. Off to 'One Night, One Lie'!
This book was published on Wattpad in 2012 when feminism and healthy relationships are already considered the norm. But there was a lot of misogyny and especially, the main toxic relationship that was painfully romanticized in the book gave me the year 1920 experience when reading.
Even the hopeless romantic girl in me cannot describe in words how much she hated the titular 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 Rage — very fitting for a name since that is what he mostly showed throughout the book. He was problematic, possessive, controlling, and has mommy issues.
Their relationship is not based on love, it is based on lust. It's centered around a privileged wealthy man with serious anger issues and a “need to be laid” attitude and a poor damsel-in-distress who will mostly put up with anything that the man tells her to just because she is “innocent”.
Sorry, I'm angry thinking about it because any girl deserves more than what Rage can offer her. Deep breaths. I am honestly disturbed by how Sunny's lack of personality and awareness makes her dependable around Rage.
I was more invested in the side couple, Kid and Mia who has more chemistry, grace, and character than the main leads. They were cute and I wished the author gave them more scenes in this book.
I did try to find out why I liked this book and that was my intention so this is my re-read after six years. It was a spiral of messy miscommunication, possessiveness, and a lack thereof.
Why did I read this book? Kasi sobrang bitin ako sa mga tagalog au’s na babasa ko sa twitter. I had to find an outlet.
I have expected that this would be written in a very wattpad manner and sometimes I just crave for those chaotic and predictable plots you know? Yes the characters relationship are toxic but that’s how wattpad writers are before. So, really can’t judge because it just has the right angst and kilig I am looking for hahaha
I got through reading this because I was thinking that it was an NCT fan fic and nothing more. Haha
It’s okay if you just want the typical drama and plots but if you are looking for something else, I suggest not to read this.
I also have the hard copy because I have been missing reading a book for the longest time.
I like the plot and the love story between Rage and Sunny. Especially, I admire Rage's commitment and principles—he refuses to succumb to his father's past mistakes (marrying for convenience and then end up cheating with another woman). He wants to marry the person he truly loves, and he sticks to that decision. I appreciate the part where nothing can stop him from marrying Sunny, even if it's considered his greatest flaw by others. He's resolute. And the fact that he's willing to leave his family for Sunny shows the depth of his love. His transformation from seeking revenge to falling for her is quite intense. Even though Sunny left him three times, his radar for her remains sharp. It's like he's a loyal dog 😭. Such a captivating story! 📚💕

This is hella greatttt! I don’t know where to start but really?! Am i about to introduce you to every beast needs a beauty? I’ve read Del Fierro Series before this and raghhh! I should’ve have this first😭 but then the plot throughout the 60 chapters of this book is💋. It doea have a similarity with the 2nd gen but this hits different than what i thought it could be. Sunny and Rage made me realize a lot which i can actually compare to reality. Their personality is heartwarming for it is the typical kind of Jonaxx written characters. And ackkk! Life is indeed in our hands, it depends on us. Well, the future is unpredictable after all. I super admire sunny for dreaming and trying so hard to achieve whatever she wanted to have. Whata strong girlll🤩🌾

i love a book that has groveling and a man crazy for his girl who will beg on his knees para sa attention ng girl—this book has that but oh my gosh the guy is so obsessed with the girl and is so possessive 😭 and grabe ang mood change niya every chapter like what do you want exactly????? tapos his ego—gosh his ego is so high !!!!!
gets na this book was written like 10+ years ago or less, this is also my second time reading this (i've read this sa wattpad na before reading the physical copy) but it still got me in shambles hshshshshshshsh
It wasn't perfect but I liked it. Rage is definitely a red flag but I do believe that he won't be able to hurt Sunny (except for his initial plan on taking revenge). I honestly commend Sunny's resilience. Despite everything, she is always hopeful. Sunny did not deserve what Rage put her through and I hate Rage for that. But he redeemed himself when he chose to turn his back on his family for Sunny and their baby. Though it's a bit sad since I also understand why his mother is so against their relationship.
I love me some misunderstanding trope and hidden pregnancy trope.

You just gotta love how the author does not have a bias in the characters, and made the characters act realistically. I mean, Sunny Aragon just slapped this statement across my face: "Life is not all about loving someone. And love is not all about being in a romantic relationship, but is also about loving your family and oneself."

My all-time fave Jonaxx book. If you're an Abbi Glines fan and have read the Too Far Trilogy from Rosemary Beach Series, it's best to read this book. RAGE. AND. SUNNY. ARE. EVERYTHING. Rage is like Rush Finlay and Sunny is almost the same as Blair Wynn. But the similarities stop there. Go forth and read this book to experience the same kilig that I felt.
One of my favorite stories from Jonaxx so far—her storytelling never fails to amaze me! I’ve read most of her earlier works, and I’m currently looking forward to diving back into them for a reread. Mapapansin Kaya, Every Beast Needs a Beauty, and Baka Sakali are easily my top-tier favorites from her creations, and they continue to hold a special place in my heart even to this day.
Admit it, Rage is having a rage over Sunny. I reread this two times. Sunny finding out Rage's original plan never gets old. Sunny is a damsel in distress that will do anything to have good future (with dignity) and Rage is willing to give her everything.
