Revealed

Rate this book
When Nathan Hamilton was accused of killing Landy Connor just weeks before their college graduation, he lost everything—his friends, his reputation, and the love of his life, Tenile Barnes. For ten long years, the murder has remained unsolved, nothing but false leads and dead ends. Desperate to bring Landy’s killer to justice and win back Tenile’s heart, Nathan starts his own investigation. But the first break in the case comes at a high price: Landy’s old roommate Nicole is kidnapped . . . possibly by the same person who killed Landy.

Nathan and his old friends comb through every memory, every photograph, and every trace of evidence for clues about who killed Landy then and who has taken Nicole now. As they separate fact from vicious rumor and piece together what really happened that night, they discover that the truth is darker and more twisted than they ever imagined. The killer is close, waiting in the shadows, ready to strike again.

In the shocking sequel to Rumors, will the friends finally reveal Landy’s killer . . . or will Nicole be the next to fall?

Soooo good! I did indeed figure things out 80% of the way, but there was a twist at the end I didn't see coming. Sad that it took me so long to read this duology. They were both worth the read. Even though I know the outcome, I'm sure I'll read these again.

Okay revealed indeed!

Now you know I would never have suspected him of such heinous crimes especially knowing who he was. I wonder why his mother never sought treatment for him then I remembered what she told Tracy when she said she confronted him and it occurred to me she was afraid of her own son. Sadly three of their friends and the step brother of their first friend murdered happened before he was finally stopped! You totally stumped me with the identity of the killer. I really enjoyed both of these books. The twists of the plots, how when I thought I had it figured out something would pop up kept me on a rollercoaster of emotion and consternation until the very end. I was glad that at least for the remaining friends there was a happy ending. Very good read Mrs. Arthur, very good read indeed!

*An ARC was received from the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review.

Wow... It's really difficult to talk about this book.
In my opinion if you want really appreciate and understand this romance you should read all the series (Rumors and Revealed) in sequence.
When I finished the first book I was perplexed. It was a good book but I didn't like the end.
Now, after reading the complete series as a one big book, I can say that Rumors series is a masterpiece, the most exciting thriller I have ever read.
A very complex plot full of lies, secrets, regrets.
Seven friends: Landy and Justine, Tenile and Nathan, Matt, Nicole and Kareem.
Seven youngers of the rich society, with a future already written for them.
Their friendship seems to be strong, their love seems to be sincere but human being are complex.
What we want, what feel and what we do could be so different, so opposed.
Landy is the beautiful girl, the richest, the sweatest but she was killed and at the end of this book you will discover that there are so many people involved in her death.
This book is full of love, hate, lust, desire and betrayals.
A perfect play of the human weakness.
After reading Rumors series you will never watch the world in the same way.

Strongly recomended.

I sospetti ricadono su Nathan.
Pian piano vengono a galla mille verità sconvolgenti.

Revealed

Wow what can I say. This book was great. I read Rumors first and couldn't put it down. I had to buy sequel Revealed to see who the killer was. You'd think it was one person and it's not. All the way to the end, I was shocked at who it was. So suspenseful. One of the better who done it books that I've read in a long time. Loved it.

Nice ending!

This series was very interesting with the twists. I have to admit I did not suspect the killer until 1/2 way through the second book. The books are filled with some steamy sex scenes, and nice romantic twists with some deceit there as well. I enjoyed this romantic murder mystery series.

Thank goodness book#2 took away my angst.

Whew, she came back strong. One heck of a finish. Talented writers such as she have a way with art. She is loaded. This finish is all one could ask for. Three switches in plots and blending them so smoothly is a prime example of her skill. On part one I dropped my point grade and I blew it. A C Arthur you rule.

A.C. Arthur story was full of surprises. In trying to figure out who the killer is she leads you in different directions throughout the story. Did you figure it out? The two book story was quite intense. It really holds your attention throughout. Good stoy. Congratulations to Ms. Arthur.

this review is originally posted at: the Blacksheep Project. I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The first book left me hanging. It made me interested in picking up the next and final book but not convince enough to buy it. Unexpectedly though. Ally Entertainment sent a NetGalley invite to those who read and review the first book. So yeah... Long story short, I was able to get a chance to read and review Revealed by A.C. Arthur.

If there's any book that I can be compare to the Rumors duology, it's The Perfectionists duology. Aside from the fact that they're both dualogies, they both have a murder mystery on hand, and a set of first class people being surrounded by lies and rumors.

The Mystery! Revealed picked up where Rumors left off. It still had that one big question: who killed Landy? Is he the same person who killed Landy's brother? The first book was all introduction and more questions. Rumors, however, focused on the mystery - taking action, looking through clues, and really finding out who killed Landy.

Solving the Case. I like how Revealed really moved the story - uncovering the mystery. A couple more characters were explored which were merely mentioned in Rumors. I felt that their late appearance in the story seems convenient - they stood there as additional elements for the story, to add complications, excitement perhaps. They greatly stirred the story even misleading me. Admittedly, A.C. Arthur almost had me.

I was never attached to anyone. I like how their each of their relationships gradually grew strong as the story goes but I never really root for anyone. Nathan and Tenile's relationship was plainly there. I see how the trust between them was solidify by certain events in the novel and I liked it. I felt no connection with them though. Justin and Nicole's relationship was the pair I liked more here. I like how they had struggle in the beginning, how they put space between them, and how they were in the end. It felt great. No connections made to me though since I hated Justin. He felt very proud and maybe part selfish. Finally, Tracy and Kareem's relationship was so uneventful that I never really care about them. It's like everything was being smooth sailing until the last few chapters of the novel.

There were only a few investigations occur. Nathan's private investigator felt useless and almost MIA throughout the novel. It irritated me. Like, what the hell is his purpose? A for-show kind of thing? I have to get this out of my system though, since Nathan's appearance and declaration that he'll reinvestigate Landy's murder, nothing really happened, aside from the craziness, cheating revelations, and unexpected death. I hated how he was completely set aside.

Revelation. I was greatly disappointed in this part. The only clues that leads to the murderer were mentioned in the same chapter he was revealed. I might have accepted it if it was well executed and there was a foreshadowing. But no, I do understand his case but I was irritated how as if everything was plainly dumped into a few chapters.

OVERALL, Revealed is an intriguing mystery novel that had its decent amount of thrilling pace and and romance. I like how it focused on solving the mystery unlike before but was disappointed at how it barely move until the last few chapters of the novel. The revelation disappointed me but the ending, how everyone was at the end, satisfied me.

Even knowing this was book #2, I had to read it from the synopsis alone. And while there were instances in this book where I kind of felt as though I had missed out by not reading the first one, it wasn't bad enough that I couldn't follow the current story-line.

And what I found? Honestly I didn't really like.

To begin with, it seemed as though the author could never keep the time-line straight. One minute it had been weeks since the memorial, weeks since Tenile found Nicole in bed with her fiance. Then it turned into months. By the end of the story, it was revealed that Landy had been dead for 10 years. Which left me wondering - which was it? If Landy had been dead for 10 years, why did everyone come home for the memorial that took place only weeks ago? At first I thought maybe the characters just moved on fast from partner to partner - but the more I read this story the more confused I became. Just how long had it been since one character had been with another?

And speaking of the characters... what an incestuous little bunch they had been. I don't mean that in the literal sense - but rather in the sense that apparently at one point one of the male characters had been dating Landy - and cheating on her - and then mere weeks, months, whatever later he was engaged to another of the group - whilst cheating on her. It seemed as though these characters that were supposedly "friends" changed partners an awful not. Even if the story had taken place over the supposed ten years - I still found it weird and odd that instead of finding someone new, they just went on to the next "friend".

Aside from that I found the story to be very anti-climatic even though it had the potential to be great. Without giving away any spoilers I can say this: there was a great build up to a certain scene - and then when the story continued after that, I, as a reader, had to wonder why. And then the truth came out, but yet the story still continued. Instead of giving closure, it just felt as though the story was being dragged on for a higher word count.

In the end, I was highly disappointed by this one. The author showed great promise, but the story just didn't deliver.

DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. This has not affected my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.

A view months ago I read the first book in the Rumors series for the blog tour I was participating in. I really enjoyed that book so when I was approached with the question if I wanted to read the second book in the Rumors series called ‘Revealed’, I agreed immediately. This week I finally found the time to read it, and I was super curious how this book would go. ‘Rumors’ really left me with a lot of questions (not a bad thing), and I was ready to find out more.

The first thing that comes to my mind after reading ‘Revealed’ is that A.C. Arthur has a very interesting writing style. It’s easy to read, almost like someone is talking to you instead of that you’re reading the pages of a book. It’s also very descriptive.
The Rumors series had multiple main characters and there all very different. Throughout this book we read the point of views, of at least six of those characters. Most times if an author choices to write from so many point of views, I find myself mixing characters around and forgetting who was exactly who.. In this series that’s not the case. I still find myself connecting to the characters and I can easily remember which character witnessed what.

The mystery in this book definitely keeps you hooked to the pages. In the first book, we thought we knew who killed Landy Connor. But at the end the suspect, Donovan, was murdered and it became clear that he wasn’t the murderer. In this book we find a new suspect and it was interesting to see how that developed. In the end, I really didn’t expect this book to end the way it did. It was good but it was also a little strange since I did not see this coming at all. It made me want to reread the first book to see if could decipher some clues.

The one problem I had with this book were that I think the two main male characters Nathan and Justin were just a little to.. sweet. There love declarations just seemed a little over the top at times. And the reactions they got from the woman.. “Tenile dropped the flowers and pressed two palms over her mouth”. It just sounded a little to cliché’s to me at times. A little too much.

But overall I did enjoy this book. It was a nice and interesting read that made me want to keep reading until I finally knew who was the real murderer.

Blog | Twitter | Instagram | As a note, an e-galley of this novel was sent to me via NetGalley by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not effect my opinions in any way.

The time for answers has arrived in the town of Tanner; at last, we will come face to face with Landy’s killer. But just who is he? Just a bit over a decade has passed since Landy’s murder, the marks still heavily visible to everyone who’s life touched hers, and it’s well past the time for some closure for this once-close group of friends. There are some things we can never truly get over, but having the answers spelled out for us can offer peace of mind.

And what we’ve learned thus far is that while it’s too late for Landy to be saved, obviously, the others are skating on thin ice. That’s not an exaggeration, no matter what this group of friends is in massive danger. One foot out of line and they could very well be next on the mysterious killers list–either to be harmed or to be framed.

When Nicole is taken captive–we can’t help but wonder who is next. It seems to me that someone out there really has it in for these guys and that’s heartbreaking as hell. But is the killer the man who took Nicole? Or is these just another twisted player in a delectably evil game?

Even more gets thrown up in the air with the arrival of an old friend, Matt, and a glimpse into his story.

So, I haven't read the first book, so I went into this without knowing the story in the first book, but I still ended up enjoying this, and the author did a good job of telling some of the things that happened in the first book without overdoing it. This is about a group of friends, who had one of their friends murder years ago, but the murderer is still free. There are many suspects for the possible murderer, so I really enjoyed the mystery. I don't really see why some of these people are friends because they do some bad things to each other; like cheat on each other, but everyone seems to be ultra forgiving, which I just don't get. Pretty much everyone is coupled up, and there are various point of views in this book, so we get glimpses into each couples romance, and each couples sex lives, which I liked, and normally it can get confusing with too many point of views, but I didn't find that a problem. So, there's a killer, or killers on the loose, and the friends are trying to figure out who it/they is/are before anymore of them are killed. I don't think I necessarily loved any of the characters, but I liked them okay; maybe I didn't connect with the characters as much because I didn't read the first book. Oh, and I don't see Tracy as an FBI agent. I think the ending was good, and I was sad for some of the characters when it was revealed. This is definitely soap opera like, but I liked that about it, and I did think there was some really sweet romantic moments between some of the characters. The book kept me interested till the very end, and I enjoyed the suspense.

Revealed is book 2 in Ac Arthur’s Rumor Series and it picks up where Rumors ended with the note “the killer is still out there.” Nathan Hamilton has returned to Tanner 10 years after the murder of Landy Connor and the mystery is still unsolved. He is now determined to solve the murder and repair his relationship with Tenile Barnes. Once starts his own investigation, their friend Nicole goes missing and now the clues and evidence point to the potential kidnapper. But all is not as it seems. The friends work to uncover the mystery and recount events in an attempt to bring Landy’s killer to justice. As they dig deeper they will discover more than what they bargained for. Lives will be forever changed.

The storyline for Revealed flowed and is a page turner as readers try to determine who killed Landy. Ms. Arthur did a good job developing the characters. Readers will see Nathan’s determination to finally cease the rumors so that he and Tenile can find happiness. Tenile has grown and realizes she will stand by Nathan no matter what. They are determined to find closure with this 10 year mystery and move on with their lives. Readers will also see a new maturity in Tracy as she embarks on a new career. Justin must resolve his feelings for one woman and realized them for another. These friends must question old events and memories to uncover Landy’s killer and once they realize who it is, they will never be the same. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this series.

I was so excited to dive back into the town of Tanner and the characters in REVEALED by A.C. Arthur, I needed to know who had killed Landy and who had taken Nicole, but boy was I shocked when all was revealed.

The story in this book is very well written and well developed, it will suck you in and take you along with all the characters in this book, the plot is well developed and very fast paced, the pages will flip faster than you see the plot twists coming. The characters in this book weave a story that will shock you, the lies that are told, friends sleeping with friends (who are not their significant other).

Welcome to the town of Tanner, where ten years ago a girl was murdered and many people were and have been accused of her murder, but as it turns out the police could not have been further from the right suspect. When a group of friends come back home to honor the ten year anniversary of Landy's murder strange things start happening all over again. Nicole is taken, Landy's step brother Donnovan is murdered, and once again Nathan is arrested for Landy's murder. Will the lies this town has weaved ever been untangled and the real murdered be found.

REVEALED by A.C. Arthur was an amazing read, it is book two in the series and book one is a must read before REVEALED, the lies and rumours that swirl in this town are enough to suck you into this book. I would give REVEALED 4/5 stars.

***Note: Book provided by publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review***

If you want to ensure that you understand the background please read Rumors prior to reading this book.

I may be one of the few that did not give this book 5 stars.

Revealed was not what I was hoping for. I expected a twist but one that made sense to me. I feel that the author tried too hard to confuse us and at the end didn’t quite deliver.

The first book tried to point the blame at Donovan which made sense as he had motive but then he got killed. The the second book shifted blame to Matt which also made sense as he was kinda psychotic but as one kept reading you could conclude that it was just too easy.

I can say that until the moments leading to the revelation I was very invested in the book. I was eager to keep reading but things started quickly changing and i started loosing interest.

My main problem was how the revelation come out. I mean from one moment to the next Tenile remembers that Kareem was also a photographer and just like that she figures out it was him all along, gee really!!!!

I felt bad for Tracy that poor girl went from bad boyfriend to worst fiancee talk about not falling for anyone else ever again.

I was given an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review and this is my review.
The first thing I am going to do is suggest that you read the first book that goes along with this one, Rumors, because is give a lot of background and it also goes right with this one so Rumors is the set-up book for Revealed that gives the reader all the information they need before the start this book.
With that said I loved how this book finished the story the Rumors had me clamoring for answered to who did it and why. I loved how Revealed picked up without skipping a beat and had the same intensity as the first book and the same ability to grab the reader and not let go.
I was thrilled that the author kept the reader guessing about what was going on and the characters all had the same draw and ability to to grab the reader and not allow them to put the book down until the very end. I will admit I was shocked by the end and I loved it.
Both of these books in these series were excellent reads and I was unable to put them down. Needless to say this being the perfect ending it deserves the perfect rating so it gets five stars out of five stars.

Now that was a suspense worth reading

Oh my. A.C. did her thing with the twists and turns of this friendship. The dynamics of this story just keeps you reading. Just when you ready to say you got it, that character and reasonable doubt is placed elsewhere. Mrs. Winston was definitely the surprise of the night. I do not want to give spoilers away but I will say that I am happy for Nicole. I am happy for Tenile and most of all I am happy for Tracy. The cArds dealt to each of these women would have kept anyone down. Learning of betrayal and the having to forgive. Man. I don't know if I would have been able to endure but then the will to live makes one fight. My favorite part of the story was Nicole and Tracy, both women fight was one made for survival.

Revealed (The Rumors Series, Book 2)

This book was well worth the wait. The suspense was exciting and tense. To find out that Kareem was such a psycho was mind blowing. Him killing Landy and the others was so heart breaking. I was cheering when Nicole first escaped. Happy that she gave Justin another chance. Kareem ended up being shot and killed by his mother. Oh wow! How devastating. Tracy seemed to pick herself up and continue her life and journey in the FBI. Kareem's mother Betty Winston spoke with Tracy about her son's "mental darkness". Wow! He needed help. Maybe there could be a Book 3. Good Job!

this is the second book in the series and I loved this book just as much as the first, but you will definitely need to read book one 'rumours' first as you need the background information to follow the story. again this story line and plot are very well written and the characters very interesting. this book picks up where book one finishes and will keep you hooked just like the first, from the first page till the last. again this book has a fantastic ending. I cant wait to read more from this author

Revealed (The Rumors Series, Book 2)

This was a new author for me when it comes to reading a good mystery. Book two was okay. Not so bad for a story with a few quirky characters, their inner thoughts, their slow move to action and the couples who played Keystone cops throughout the story.

I did like the predictable yet HEA ending. I gave this one 2.5 stars.

Closure of the past

Well I was glad to see every one was able to learn who the real killer was. I like this book because it touch on mental illness. What hated about it there was no back story of the actual murder. It was sad that it was so much betrayal, secrets and lies.
