No one ever told me that finding your mate was such a pain.
Eden is nothing like I expected, and everything I never knew I needed. The more I get to know her, the more conflicted I get. What if my parents were wrong about her? If she really is my mate, then I have not only failed her, I have failed myself, and my entire pack.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Note 2: This is a series. Please read in order. Eden is the first book, Mate is the next, Bond is the third, releases March 9 2022, Home is the final book in the series - releasing March 30 2022.
Trigger Warnings: drug use, bullying.
The last book was from Eden's full point of view, this time we get Paxton's full view.
Paxton's life isn't as damaging as Eden's - full silver spoon and all that jazz. But he soon goes on a hunt to find out if their bond is really real, a witch's foul trick and what makes Eden tick, and why she was horribly treated by her pack and him, and what is happening further in her life, rescuing her at times from weird situations, leaving me going all aww he's such a guy. Confusing, no, considering I am supposed to hate him.
This was also an intriguing read, and this time with a bit more steam. Pax's life is not what it seems, and him setting out to find answers had me all like wowza, this will be fun.
And boy, was it - despite it being so damn short. Can we please get a longer book at some point? Ugh Darcy rose kill me.
But loved this second novel in the series - definitely looking forward to the third one.

STORY: WHAT I LIKED: I liked that part 2 was solely Paxton’s POV. I really am finding myself engaging more in this storyline and the whole rejected, I don’t want you mate is now going out his mind thinking of said mate, Eden. As the story progresses it’s getting more interesting to see how Paxton will reclaim his mate and what defying his father, current Alpha will mean. I was not sure about Paxton in the beginning, but it helped getting more of his POV as well as good to see he is actually taking the time to know how Eden grew up.
WHAT WAS SO SO: Hate when it cuts off, because I have to wait to see what happens.
SEXUAL CHEMISTRY Still wasn’t much, but enough physical intimacy to wet the appetite.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS: There weren’t any really. But hope to see more of Luna.

This is part 2 of this series and like book one abut short wish it was alittle longer Maybe 80ish pages or so. It picks up right where book 1 left off Eden trapped in a bear trap this is from Pax pov and he is confused about the whole mate thing and 100% agree Eden did something but again he feels like he and his pack are wrong if she wanted him she would be head over heels not wanting to get away. That's what Eden is doing she wants to live a peaceful life now shes done with Pax and his pack she been bullied way to long.
Paxton isn't done he's going to fight for them so he does something that might make Eden hate him even more.

This book is in Paxton's point of view, which I enjoyed! It was nice to hear why he did some of the things he did in the last book. He really doesn't want a mate, but he's coming around. And by that I mean... he drugs and kidnaps her.
“Don’t worry, I’ve got you. I’ve got you now, and I’m not letting you go.” Ever.
This one was a little more spicy than the last and it added another layer of plot. Buuuuuut, that cliffhanger?! Onto the next book!
important bits: virgin heroine not a manwhore H no cheating no OM/OW safe CLIFFHANGER ♡
Last book (Eden) we saw events through the eyes of Eden, a rejected mate. Now we get to see how Paxton, the man who rejected her, comes to terms with his decision.
I wish the stories had been written in dual POV instead of alternating POV. Glimpsing into the mind of Paxton makes me wonder what he was thinking when he rejected Eden. Yes it’s told here but I still wonder how Paxton fought the intensity of his connection with Eden. I would have liked to see how saying ‘I reject you’ felt coming out of his mouth at that party.
And in this story there were so many times I wished I could have heard from Eden directly. There are glimpses of her feelings, through the mate bond, but it’s not the same. I want to know what possessed Eden to believe the sleazy, bald man with a room in the basement was acceptable. I would have enjoyed seeing her savor the hamburger that she choose to eat. One that finally made her full, something she was denied for a decade. And I really would have liked to know how someone so against everything Paxton represents still succumbed to that insanely hot marking moment in the hotel.
All-in-all I cannot wait for the next book and look forward to going back one day and reading all four installments at once.
🚫 NOT a standalone, MUST read in order 🐺 rejected fated mates fighting the rejection 🐺 ONLY H’s POV
This is book 2 in the Sacred Hill Rejects series. This book is NOT a standalone and must be read only after the first book of the series “Eden”.
“need to figure this out because I’ll be damned if I’m going to spend the rest of my life feeling a connection with this girl if all she does is run away from me.”
You know how I said I’d only be reading this when the entire series was done… Well the last book ended in such a way that my curiosity got the best of me and I had to read it.
“Because I feel her pain. God, did I feel it. My wolf was going berserk the entire time I was on the road, to the point where I was afraid more than once that I’d end up getting in an accident before I reached her.”
So in the first book we get to know Eden. How she’s an outsider, how she got raised by foster parents that didn’t loved her and how everyone from the pack treated her like garbage… The girl was treated like she was a disease… I’ve to say, that pack was nasty…
So when she comes of age, Paxton, the Alphas son, bonds with her. But because of who she is and because her only friend was a witch, Paxton’s parents convince him to reject her and the bond. Which he does.
Eden is heartbroken and decides she no longer wants to live in a place where everyone rejects her, so she leaves and starts leaving on her own.
“Though that doesn't mean my wolf has quieted down any. Not even close. Now that we’re alone, where nobody will disturb us, there's only one thing on his mind.”
In this book we get to know Paxton. He’s the Alpha’s son and is life was anything like Eden’s. Despite him having rejected Eden, his bond with her still stands somehow and he’s wolf drives him towards his mate, has he likes it or not.
Now that he’s bond to Eden he starts to question his actions towards Eden prior to the bonding and everyone else’s for that matter. He’s intent on finding out what really happened and the more time passes the more sure he’s that his bond with Eden is real.
Paxton can't stop think about Eden and dreaming about her. Too bad Eden doesn’t want to be his mate. Who's going to win? I'm officially hooked and need to find out what happens next after the cliffhanger ending in Paxton and Eden's story.
I seriously wanted to smack Paxton silly in this book. He took absolutely no blame for what had occurred to Eden at all. He came across as a self centered and self absorbed idiot. The only redeemable thing was that he had had eyes opened to everything that Eden had had to live through with regards to how her foster parents and the pack including himself treated her. I seriously wanted to drop kick my kindle with that ending but I'm dying to see what will happen next though
I did not like that this was a such a short book and had a cliffhanger. You have to read all 4 books in the series to get the whole series. On a plus side, the "books" are short (50ish pages). If you count all for together, I think of that more as a book than the individual short stories. Overall the entire story is decent. I think each one of these could have really been turned into a novel with real character development and a powerful story instead of just an okay story with characters who have little to no growth.
Book 2 of 4: Paxton's POV Paxton follows Eden, but believes his parents even after she was cleared of messing with the mate bond charges. She's trying to get away, and he keeps trying to force her to return to the pack that hates her. This book focuses on Paxton's immaturity, as he keeps thinking about himself even as he claims it's for "her own good".
THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE STORY- THIS IS PART 2 of a 4 PART STORY.
***REVIEW FOR COMPLETE 4-PART STORY****
Eden had one shifter parent and one human parent, which wasn’t considered acceptable (not pure blood) in their wolf-shifter pack. With that attitude I don’t know why they stayed with the pack as I assume all 3 were treated with much hostility, but we never know because the book starts when Eden turns 18. She starts the book by saying she was severely bullied, starved and mistreated since her parents died 8 years ago (hence my confusion because it really seems like everyone would have bullied her forever since she’s never been pure blooded). But let’s ignore that and move on….
The second Eden turns 18…POOF….MAGIC…..Eden and the alphas son Paxton are both overcome with a WAVE OF FEELINGS for each other. I hate the arbitrary “magical midnight on the 18th birthday” thing in any book (just to make the sex that occurs consensual between 2 ADULTS🙄). But let’s ignore that and move on….
The entire pack, including her mate Paxton continues to bully and reject Eden. Paxton is and has forever been a complete jerk/ bully/ a$$hole to Eden and nothing has changed since becoming her mate. But let’s ignore that and move on….
Eden leaves the pack to go live on her own but Paxton chases her down. Paxton, who still believes their mating is a mistake because “some witch MUST have put a spell on them” because NO-WAY could Eden ever be his mate (blah, blah, blah…). So he does LOTS of even worse things to Eden but now feels justified “BECAUSE OF FEELINGS”. But let’s ignore that and move on….
In the end Paxton doesn’t care if it’s a spell or real, HE decides to keep Eden and the book ends.
What does Eden want?
It apparently does not matter “BECAUSE OF FEELINGS“.
So Paxton and Eden hate each other but fate has chosen them to be mates so now they are together BECAUSE OF FEELINGS and the years and years of abuse and neglect are swept under the rug with no apologies “BECAUSE OF FEELINGS”. The end.
Haha! I know it sounds like I didn’t like the book BUT I kinda did. The plot, while insanely crazy unbelievable, kept me hooked. The hate sex was off the charts (I wanted way more though). And watching Paxton learn more about the pack’s treatment of Eden, made me want to give Eden a big hug (and kick Paxton to the curb, but again….hate sex😉).
I felt like the story needed fleshed out more. There DEFINITELY needed to be MORE ending to Paxton and Eden’s story. We DO NOT GET A HEA. We get optimistic talk of a future potential for a HEA, but Eden and Paxton HAVE A LOOOOONNG ROAD AHEAD OF THEM IF THEY WANT A FUTURE TOGETHER. There could definitely be another book, just to give a satisfying conclusion to their story. But let’s ignore that and move on….
There also seems to be spin-off potential with another fated mate coupling, that would tie into the imaginary next book but nope…. It would definitely help wrap this story up more since the new couple leaves with Paxton and Eden to go off and create a new life together (and start a new pack?)🤷♀️🤷♀️

Mated de Darcy Rose serie Sacred Hill Rejects libro 2
Argumento:
Si ella realmente es mi compañera, entonces no solo le he fallado a ella, me he fallado a mí mismo y a toda mi manada.
So, I am completely hooked on this story! I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment. Book 1 is written in Eden's POV and this book is in the POV of her mate, Paxton, who rejected her. He rejected her because that's what was expected by his parents and the rest of the pack, but fate can't be denied. Paxton is continuously drawn to Eden and as he gets to know her, he wonders why he is fighting their connection.
Eden is so fed up with being bullied, blamed and lied to that she just wants to be on her own with no one to answer to or be reliant on for anything. She craves independence and just when she's about to get it, things take a twist. So excited for the next book and can't wait to see where their journey will lead!
Special note: Mate is book 2 in a four part series that ends on a cliffhanger. Book 1, Eden, should be read first since this book follows directly where book 1 ends.

I loved the second part of Eden and Paxton's story, which was told from Pax's point of view in Mate. Pax is still feeling the mating pull and is drawn to Eden, despite the fact that he rejected her. He feels her fear, her pain, and he can't let her go. He starts to realize that he and his entire pack have treated her terribly. Can he make this right? Does he want to?
As we learn more about Eden's past through Pax's eyes, I felt so much for our girl. She had a terrible childhood after her parents died and it makes me want her to get her HEA so much more. I also saw Pax through new eyes as well. Maybe he is not such a douche after all - maybe he was young, immature, and subject to the whims of his parents and friends. I wish he had been stronger but the fact that he could change and redeem himself means he is not such a lost cause.
I'm so entranced by this shifter world and Eden and Pax's story. I can't wait for the next instalment.

It was interesting as we had the POV was from Paxton this time. We get to see the internal struggle he is having and how torn he is about Eden. Some things are coming to light about his family and what has been done to her over the years and it is not sitting well with him. When he finally realizes and truly feels the pull towards her is it to late as Eden would rather die then ever go back to the pack and he want's to go back with her. She is determined that he has rejected her and she will move on will this happen, how well will his parents take what he has been doing. He feels responsible for her and wants to take care of her but his parents will not allow this to happen. I can't wait to read what happens next as Eden is super stubborn and wont do anything she doesn't want to. This series is getting better and better. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.
Paxton has rejected Eden as his mate because his parents had told him he must do that and the pack also expected that. But now he is wondering if his parents were wrong about her. He continues to be drawn to her and can feel her suffering, so he goes after her.
Eden is at the breaking point. She has had enough of everyone’s continual bullying and will no longer tolerate it. She will never go back to that pack. She is better off alone. But she has gotten herself caught in a bear trap! Then Paxton shows up! Will Paxton try to reclaim his mate now? Would she fight him over that? And what would the results of reclaiming her be when his parents (and the pack) see that he wants her back as his mate? Is there another alternative to pursue – one that may make her despise him now?
Mate is told from Paxton’s POV. He’s been convinced by his father that Eden had somehow used witchcraft to cheat him into thinking their mating bond is real. Not the greatest way to kick off a relationship. He can feel Eden’s pain, but she refuses to return to the pack with him, so for his peace of mind, he puts her up in a nearby hotel. He decides to look more into Eden’s life, starting with where she grew up. Her adoptive parents treated her as badly as the rest of the pack. It’s no wonder she doesn’t want to return…. I love the way the story switches POV and how Paxton comes to question everything that he has been told to accept in the past. His wolf is now in charge, not his pack. Eden has such a strong backbone and her ill treatment has shaped her into a feisty female. Loved it.

After the events of book one, Eden once again flees from her new mate Paxton, only to find herself lost in another small town where Paxton somehow manages to find her once again. Meanwhile, before he left the pack to find Eden, Paxton had been searching into Eden's past where he discovered just how badly her adopted family treated her growing up. Paxton wants to help her even more now then he ever did before, and when he finds her, he offers her a new way out of the mess they are in, but will she take it? Or will Paxton be forced to find another way to make her see is side of things? But since it ends on a cliffhanger, who knows what happens next.
This is the the second short story in the Sacred Hill Rejects series. Tropes include wolf shifters, fated mates, rejected mates, and an orphan.
Rating: 3/5 Stars 2/5 spicy flames
It didn’t feel like much happened in this short story, at least compared to the first story in the series. As with book one, this is marketed as a series of short stories (about 50 pages each). However, upon reading, it becomes apparent this is really just one story broken into four pieces. I realized this after book one but given the premise was interesting and I liked the FMC, I continued the series. After book two I’m less interested as there really wasn’t a plot to this story. At $2 a story, that then means you’re paying $8 for a 200 page novella (ebook USD) - which is steep to me. Given these two factors, I won’t be continuing the series.
This is a continuation of Paxton and Eden’s story. In Eden, we saw everything from her pov and this one, we see from Paxton’s pov. I am really enjoying these two. The mate bond between them won’t go away and Paxton isn’t sure he really wants it to. He is stuck between a rock and a hard place, especially since he is the alpha’s son. These two are great and their back and forth is entertaining. I can’t wait to read Bond and find out what happens next. With this ending, you know more sparks are going to fly in the next part.
5 stars for the second book of the rejected mate romance. This part is told from Paxton's point of view. It is very interesting to see how his attitude to everything changes and he is willing to give it a chance. Eden, however, is hurt because of her past and wants to be left alone. The ending was surprising and ends with a cliffy. Can't wait for the next part. Highly recommended if you like shifter / rejected mate romances. Short and to the point, focused on the essentials. Everything done right.
Recieved as an ARC in exchange for a honest review
I thought that this was a really good book. I really liked that this book pick up right where the last book left off at and this time it was in Paxton's POV. I really liked that Paxton is starting to realize how Eden was treated and is starting to realize that what he is feeling for Eden is real and not a spell. I can't wait to read the next book, Bond. I would recommend this book and Ms. Darcy as a great author.

Oh wow! What an interesting concept in story telling! This is book # 2 in the series and is told through Paxton’s POV while book #1 was all through Eden.
I have mixed feelings with Paxton! Im not sure hoe to feel about him, he is a pushover and kinda annoying. I hate how he still doubts Eden yet he wont let her go.
I can wait to see hoe the story unfolds at this point! That ending leaves you wanting more and I just really hope the truth comes out Eden is not guilty at all and Paxton realizes what a fool he has been.
Excellent short story! Only about 50 pages. 2nd book in this series. I literally couldn't put it down. MC's are still at odds with each other. FMC is still wanting to be left alone and pushing through their mate bond. MMC can't leave FMC alone because his wolf won't let him. FMC needs to make MMC grovel at her feet before even thinking about accepting the mate bond with him. For how he treated her most of her life. And how others treated her and he never lifted a finger to help her. Grovel you b#st#rd!!
3.5 STARS!!! Eden has never had anyone really care for her or protect her since her parent's death, so Paxton's generosity has her weary. I like that Paxton seems as if he's trying to change however, with the way this novella ended I wonder how he tends to justify what he did to Eden. It's hard to write a review without giving much away but I'm looking forward to getting more of Paxton and Eden.

Seriously another cliffhanger. That is just cruel.
Cruelty aside, I love that this book is from Paxton's point of view. The way he starts looking into Eden's past, and slowly puts the pieces together of her bad childhood. It turns out, he is not as big of a douche as I thought he was.
Now I just have to wait patiently for the next book. And it is not going to be easy.

I extremely dislike Paxton so I had a hard time with this book since it’s all in his point of view. Honestly this book didn’t make me like him at all, I understand he was young & had the weight of the entire pack influencing him but still. Plus the way he still treats Eden & that ending… I hope she cuts his balls off. He has so much to make up for & honestly I’m hoping Eden gets wise & finds love & friendship elsewhere.
