David J. Schow is an American author of horror novels, short stories, and screenplays, associated with the "splatterpunk" movement of the late '80s and early '90s. Most recently he has moved into the crime genre.
Well...I'm not entirely sure what to think about Schow's latest collection. If you're fascinated by "Creature of the Black Lagoon"..you'll find art by Bernie Wrightson and others...there is even an illustration of Swamp Thing fighting the Creature.....and, if you are captivated by the Creature, there is a long chapter, entitled "Reflections" - which deals with the various incarnations of the Creature, and attempts to to film a modern version, various scripts, machinations behind the scene, etc.
Best story for me was "Scoop Versus Leadman"....wherein a low level criminal is forced by debts to kill 10 competitors to ensure his survival.....Size Nothing was an interesting story - where a woman rejuvenates herself, only to be murdered by her partner.....
Available from Amazon, as well as Cimarron Street Books, who are reprinting Schow's earlier works....
