My husband bought me this as a Christmas gift and this is the most amazing gift I've ever received. I'm a little obsessed with Marilyn Monroe, and this book would be a welcome gift to any obsesser. Every 10 pages or so there's a cellophane page (like a sheet protector) with different documents inside. Birth certificates, marriage licenses, notes, letters to friends, hotel bills- all replications but very convincing ones and all something to do with Marilyn.

It's absolutely amazing the things that are included in this book. The author's writing style is nice- kind of a no nonsense look at her life. There are a few things that I disagree with from other research I've done, but for the most part it stays on course with Marilyn's life. Thumbs up to my hubby for getting me this and thumbs up to the author for coming up with something this creative.

Hands down, this is one of the best Marilyn Monroe books I’ve ever read, and I’ve read at least a dozen.

A coffee table book with glossy photos or a straight biography you can find anywhere. This is something special. Included in this large hardcover are not only glossy photos, and not only a biography with detailed stories most biographies don’t contain, but Marilyn’s treasures. That’s right, her actual treasures. Fans of Marilyn can actually touch, read, and hold Marilyn’s birth certificate, marriage licenses, receipts, hotel bills, handwritten letters, and her conversion to Judaism. Is there anything else to be said?

Having read many of the Marilyn Monroe collections I never tire of them and always find something new and interesting to see, and this is another high quality collection full of unseen photographs and a fascinating look back at her life from beginning to end.

It's beautifully put together and the range of photographs is stunning - all the infamous and iconic pictures are included along with many I'd not seen anywhere else before so it was stunning to see them all alongside one another.

And with the photos come a chronological look back over her life, from where it started, how she persued fame, how fame treated her and then a look at her struggles, the downward spiral and her tragic end and the speculation that surrounded her death. It also features letters and reproductions of other mementoes of her life which really add to the quality of the collection. A real treasure for any Marilyn Monroe fan!!

I’ve also always been interested in Marilyn Monroe. Her sad journey of being orphaned and struggled with depression, low self esteem but a dream of not being a star but being the best actress she could be.
Her connections with both JFK and Bobby Kennedy and the truth of her death which unfortunately like JFK we may never know. A beautiful sex symbol and actress that took Hollywood.

This is a easy quick read about the life and death of Marilyn Monroe and contains some photos. This is a good place to start reading about Marilyn and I definitely want to read more about her life. I also enjoyed the memorabilia included.

Great look back into a time when Hollywood was really glam. Marilyn was the glammest of them all.
Super momentos included in this book too, which were very interesting.
If you love Marilyn, you will love this too.

Amazing. I love all the little extras in the book. especially the Travilla Seven Year Itch subway dress sketch, and the rose MM painted for JFK's birthday...it's a bio like most except there are the "treasures" which make it so different. It's those extras that make it worthwhile. Perfect for any Monroe fan.
