Meet a poodle who can doodle oodles and oodles of noodles in this hilarious Level 1 Ready-to-Read by bestselling and award-winning author Alethea Kontis!
Do you doodle? I do doodle! Does your poodle doodle? My poodle doodles oodles.
Kids and adults will love reading along with this silly story about a poodle who can doodle oodles and oodles of noodles!
Fun wordplay, if a little awkward at times (which was not unexpected). The dog isn't wearing his glasses in one of the illustrations (the same illustration as used for the title page), which, as a glasses-wearer, I found concerning. Where did they go?
I got this for a friend's kiddo for their birthday and decided to read it for myself as well so I could leave a review. As with all of Kontis' children's books, this is delightful. The plays on words are fun and I can just imagine the giggling that kids with have with their parents while all the doodling and oodling is being tossed about. I will probably be getting more copies as Christmas gifts...
A lighthearted tone, with silly animals and a book title with a built-in rhyme? Readers here can expect to have a good time, not just dutifully PRACTICE MY READING.

Ofttimes, an earliest early reader’s intent is to teach a specific single word ending, thus filling the story with rhyming words as in the Ready-to-Read title, Oodles of Doodles (Kontis) in which 62 of the 152 words end in “oodle” (oodles, doodles, noodles, and poodles).
