This was a disappointing conclusion to the series. I enjoyed reading it, and so still gave it three stars, but absolutely could not get behind Valroy in this book. I do NOT understand why Abigail would love him. He has been a jerk in earlier books but seemed to be moving towards respecting and caring for Abigail. Some of the ways he treated Abigail in this book felt completely unacceptable. He suffered no consequences for his consistent cruelty and it is all explained away by Abigail's love for him. You cannot just love the man (fae?) and hate his actions, especially when his actions have had such a significant effect on the relationship.

Disappointing - I hoped for Valroy to have some kind of arc in this story. He can still be the evil Unseelie King but some of the things he did to Abigail in this book were beyond accepting.

Was it entertaining?
Theoretically. That I made it through all of these with my sanity in tact is nothing short of a miracle and, I guess, a testament to the author’s ability to write a compelling plot. But that’s really the only positive I have here. The sex was violent and not in a fun, dark romance kind of way. The FMC was insufferable and incapable of sticking to any decision. The MMC was awful and not in an “oh, he’s absolutely feral but it’s fine because he loves her” kind of way. The explanation for the impetus behind his great war didn’t track for me and it felt sloppy and last minute. But to be fair, a lot of the plot in this felt sloppy and last minute so maybe it’s a feature, not a bug. Puck was ridiculous and not fun. If you’re going to set a story in a vaguely medieval time period and randomly make one character a time traveller that can’t keep it all straight in their head, it would make far more sense for their speech and mannerisms to constantly change rather than constantly mimic something from the early 21st century. And the ending. I guess??????? 2/5

Was it enjoyable?
Absolutely not. The prose is so purple it’s black. It’s almost
impossible to sit and read this in large chunks. It should not have taken me 3 days to read 260 pages when I just finished almost 500 pages in half that time. The plot stops and starts like it ran out of gas on an unlit back road full of nonsensical twists and hairpin turns. And god help me but if I never read about blue hair or dick piercings again, it will be too soon. 0/5

Was it well-written?
No. It was bad in every possible way except spelling and verb-subject agreement. Run-on sentences are bad enough but redundant run-on sentences are my own personal hell.

“That was not to say she was entirely alone, however, judging by the warm weight crushing her leg.”

“nor was it terribly cold within the confines of the ruined rock wall that surrounded it on all sides.”

Who writes like this??? And why? It’s not beautifully tragic or tragically beautiful or whatever former fanfic writers tell themselves. It’s tedious and absurd. 1/5

Overall, I’m glad it’s over and I hate myself for suffering through 4 of these books to get an ending that’s just shy of not absolutely awful. I’m honestly a little surprised by how much I hated these. I’m not super picky about fantasy romances because I know what a crapshoot publishing is. But when all 4 books in a series fail to hit any of (what I consider) the 3 basic marks, it’s above me. What kills
me is if this had been 1, maybe 2 books, I probably would
have liked it but I guess the author won in the end. 1/5 stars

This is the conclusion to Valroy and Abigail’s story and for me, it was a mixed bag with equal positives and negatives. I definitely enjoyed it and as expected it was excellently written but there was also stuff here that I wasn’t the biggest fan of as well.

I adore Valroy I love the fact he is so black and white and there’s absolutely no middle ground with him so it really irked me that Abigail was so indecisive in regards to his liberation. She’s always known what being his Queen involved; his intentions have always been crystal clear in that regard so to now develop this inability to own her previous decisions it felt kind of like a slap in the face for Valroy. To then leave him to his suffering and even play nicely with Titania his abuser because she’s now apparently having a wobble I was actually livid on his behalf.

Abigail only comes through when she is backed into a corner and left with no other choice but to choose. I just wanted her to go to extremes to save him because when it was the other way round Valroy was prepared to go to war to free Abigail and she can’t even find it in herself to be mean to Titania.

It’s no secret Valroy is my favourite character here Abigail is mostly okay but she's a little too Pollyanna for me at times. Valroy definitely stays true to form here in fact after he escapes his confinement he really took it to the next level like he was escalating on a runaway train to an end game where Abigail might just become collateral damage.

This was imaginative and intriguing Valroy and Abigail are definitely the balance to each other’s extreme natures. The finish did feel slightly condensed though I did like the unconventional resolution and it was probably the only logical course this could then take.

I still am not the biggest fan of Abigail if I’m honest she gives me a bit of a toothache but Valroy more than makes up for that fact and I was glad he didn’t stray too far from his true nature. I also loved the inclusion of puck he certainly brought lots of comic relief and was stoked that Perrin and Anfar finally found what they both deserved in each other their romance was so sweet.

Though not everything with this quite hit the mark it is still definitely one of the better fantasy romances series out there and it’s so well written and engaging. This author is now a definite auto buy for me and I definitely recommend reading this if the genre is your jam. Team Valroy all the way for me.

I’m sad to say that this book was a bit of a letdown for me, both as my first fantasy read of 2022, and as the final volume of a series I really liked. I won’t say it was bad, because I still enjoyed it (and let’s face it, some things just couldn’t have been resolved any other way between these two). but I will say that I expected more.

First of all, the writing felt rushed when compared to the other three books. I am as impatient as anyone when waiting for a new release by one of my go-to authors, more so when it’s a final volume of a series, but I would’ve happily waited a month (or even longer) for a better version of this book. The release date didn’t have to be pushed forward — it would’ve been best if Kingsley used that time to go through her final draft with a fine toothed comb a couple more times.

My other niggles:

➣ Anfar deserved some TLC after all the shit he’d been through, and I can’t say I’m 100% satisfied with how his story with P unfolded here. It was too insta for me, the connection that I’ve seen slowly building in book 2 was smothered in the next two books — but mostly in this one — and I saw almost no chemistry between them here

➣ Abigail had been shy and nervous in the beginning, and I totally bought that, I even thought it was adorable sometimes! Here, it seemed like she was utterly incapable of making rational decisions, she was meek and unassertive, submissive (but not in a good way), and some of her Mary Sue characteristics came to the fore (that started in book 3, I think). Won’t go into specifics because spoilers, but I cringed several times

➣ Valroy. I liked him better in the first three books… He was extra mean and assholish here (he’d always been an asshole, but it reached epic proportions in this volume), and it exceeded even my limits. Some of the things he did… I don’t want to call it abuse, because the consent was there, but some of the scenes were pretty hard to read. The way he was willing to do anything in order to achieve his ‘goal,’ even that, that last thing, was an unpleasant surprise

➣ …but in the end the main conflict (spanning four books) was resolved in one +/- four-page scene?? 😳 WHAT.

All in all, this was a good series, even if the ending left me feeling a little underwhelmed.

I feel confused. This whole series reminded me of a high school boyfriend my mom hated.

Here we have good girl Abigail and bad boy Valroy - very bad, as he's living his best life as the Unseelie Prince, destined for the throne. Insignificant human girl Abigail is put through utter hell by this dude after she meets Valroy, and eventually becomes his bride. Over four books, he shows her more and more of his true colors. The stakes gradually ramp up as he gets closer to his dream of destroying all worlds. The problem is Abigail; her life goal is to crush his dream.

Hmm, I dunno. I liked that the story was very dark, and that right from the start Valroy was up-front on what he's about and totally unapologetic for it. In fact, he states it so many times that it becomes a thing unto itself. On the other hand, the relationship was so incredibly toxic, and he and Abigail were so diametrically opposite, that it never made sense. If somebody says, "I love you with all my heart, but I'm not going to end my plans to annihilate all life in the universe (including you)," take it as the dealbreaker it is meant to be. He doesn't have the only fleshy pork sword out there.

Not that any Fantasy novel ever makes total sense, nor do I require them to. But still.

There was plenty of good stuff if you're into written junk food - clearly I was in the mood for it, having just binged the entire series back-to-back. Just don't look for the love story to make you feel good.

I have enjoyed this last 3 books this one not so much. I didn't really like Abigail in this book AT ALL. She supposedly loves Valroy but when she needed to help him she just cried and wringed her hand about what she had to do. It was so silly. I'll admit she had been pretty unassertive the previous 3 books so I wasn't expecting a lot of difference but I figured having to save Valroy will light a fire under her. Well, it didn't. It actually made me dislike her intensely.

An anticlimactic end which unfortunately is not my first experience from this author.

TW: rape

Fuck this series and I'm not tagging/formatting spoilers in this. Read at your own risk.

Want a quick overview of the whole fucking series? Here it is: Valroy is a violent asshole. Valroy kidnaps/imprisons Abigail. Abigail gets mad, Valroy laughs at it bcs “silly little woman”. Abigail fights with her feelings in her quivering pussy for Valroy. Valroy gets his way, raping Abigail in the process bcs "he knows she actually wants it". Valroy does violent asshole things, giving in just enough for Abigail to feel like she had an impact. Abigail is temporarily placated, feeling justified in her feelings of “love”. Repeat every few chapters, for 4 entire gods-forsaken books.

I'm honestly not sure why I forced myself to read this entire damn series. At the end of the first book, I was like "might as well read book 2". At the end of book 2, I was like "might as well read book 3". You can guess what happened at the end of book 3.

Literally everything about this series was disappointing. I’m disappointed at myself for pushing through it for a half-baked, half-assed, underdeveloped ending, especially considering how much I railed against it for the past three books. Abigail is pitiful, wishwashy, and fucking annoying. She wants her cake and to eat it too. She's being selfish, and knows what Valroy is, and is willing to free him KNOWING what he'll do. She's hypocritical. She's so self-righteous in her actions, blinding herself with her STOCKHOLM SYNDROME that she’s convinced everything will be rainbows and flowers and work out bcs she wants it to. Gag me with a spoon. I felt awful yet vindicated when it blew up in her face (i.e. he chained her up) bcs it was the literal Pikachu shocked face.

There was literally no plot development from book 1 all the way through 4. Yeah things happen, I guess, but nothing fucking changes. The "plot" points, which I'm loathe to call them, are all the exact same. See my series summary at the top. Valroy is a rapey asshole hell bent on destroying the world; Abigail is a quivering pussy with, well, a quivereing pussy. Abigail "stands up" to Valroy, Valroy gets mad and uses the fact that Abigail doesn't know her powers to imprison her (then rape her), and Abigail is like "sigh I should have expected this". What. The Literal. Fuck. This is peak bad writing.

"I haven't hurt her." YOU PUT AN IRON COLLAR ON HER, FUCKED (read: raped) HER BRUTALLY, NO AFTERCARE, THEN LEFT. But fucking sure, justify it anyway you want.
“Or perhaps I will split open your entrails and let you die slowly and make you watch as I rape him, never knowing if I gave him the mercy of a clean death!” Okay seriously, what is the author's fascination with rape?? Are you okay? Who hurt you? I recommend therapy. Lots and lots of therapy.
"I don't want violence." BITCH. You now have set Valroy free, knowing he's gonna bring war. And guess what, he's promising war (surprise surprise). And she's... not even gonna try and convince him? She's such a goddamn hypocrite. She KNEW it would mean death and chaos and terror to release him, but she did it and is touting the same "but pls don't kill anyone UWU". YOU ASININE CRETIN THERE'S NOTHING BTWN THOSE POINTY EARS. YOU HAVE NO BACKBONE, NO THOUGHTS, NO CHARACTER GROWTH.

This was just torture porn, through and through. I'm not sure what the author is going through and I'm deeply sorry for whatever happened (bcs obvs something did happen), but honeybruh this just ain't it. This isn't morally gray bad boi but it's okay bcs he loves her. This isn't FMC comes into her powers and grows as a person and is a compelling character. It's almost impressive bcs the author managed to do the exact opposite in the worst way possible.

"I'm going boar hunting"
This series rivaled Masks of Under when it came to the cast and the world-building
I cried
I gasped
I laughed
I loved and loathed
And dreaded that last turn of the page
I had become so attached to everyone

I know I rant with every new release she has but honestly, she is gifted in her ability to weave tales filled with such magic that it never fails to entertain and captivate me.
Each character has left their footprint on my psyche

So this is the final battle - I'm not spoiling anything!

"This is how it must be. I tried to spare us this fate... but I failed. "
I admit I did shed a few tears - I already knew of the betrayals and the lies from book three
What I failed to see was the whole board - To take into account the smaller moves that would have a greater impact
I understood what Abigail faced. How torn she was.
Loving someone isn't always enough when it comes to choosing
Head or Heart - Which to follow

" tell me you understand"
Some of the choices made...
I could see 👀 their reasoning
I didn't agree but I understood the feeling of not having a choice that didn't hurt someone
There were moments I felt personally betrayed
As I processed the maze of events (you knew I couldn't resist) I kept thinking there were better options - different roads they could have traveled
But alas all I could do was watch as the final battle was waged

One of my favorite Dark Fantasy Collections
I suggest dipping your toes into book one and beginning the journey
You won't be disappointed

This was such a good series from start to finish! Abigail stayed true to herself through the whole book and series. While nothing could control Valroy, Abigail was able to temper him somewhat. Abigail finds herself even deeper into the politics in this book. I loved Valroy, he was just so wild and unpredictable at times, but he most definitely loves Abigail. I understand why Titania did some of what she did, and while I wasn't sure how I felt about her at the end of The Unseelie Throne, I liked her in the end. I really loved all of the supporting characters in this book, I was so happy for Anfar and Perin in the end. The world building Kathryn did with the maze was incredible, along with the characters she made ( I found Cruinn super interesting). I especially loved the end, ending with a hunt 😉. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the series as a whole!!

Decent until Valroy threatened to r@pe Perrin. Nothing ruins a book more than the love interest saying that. I don’t care how morally gray/black a character is. Nope.

Don't know what I was expecting at this point... the cover art is freaking stunning tho.

Anfar and Perin are the sole reason I even continued with the saga and I'll give credit where credit is due, the author actually knows how to write a cute, healthy, loving couple, she just chose not to do it with the MCs of this book..., certainly a choice.

Listen, at this point, after hating Valroy in every book, I wasn't expecting anything really, but I was still disappointed.

The he isn't actually capable of human emotions plot twist killed every redeeming quality his character had, and it was one of the biggest mistakes plot wise I've read in a while.
Enemies to lovers works because the villain always ends up seeing where they were wrong, because of their love. Having Valroy be irredeemable, even going as far a to almost kill the woman """""he loves""""", made him so unlikeable I even started skipping his parts.

On that note, their romance is also unbelievable af. They have virtually nothing in common, and the fact that Abigail falls in love with a psychopath makes no sense in any context.

Anyways, that's all.

well, here we are! i finished this series after all! before we get into this once again reminder that this series is +18. also as far as tws go: mainly sexual assault discussion and rape discussion for the review. for the book just... violence, kidnaping, i'd say. it's heavy, really, the sex scenes are also heavy to read i'd say. also spoilers ahead, because i need to talk about it without worrying about spoilers, so while i'm not going out of my way to spoil the entire book, there's gonna be spoilers ahead.

what are those two starts for? well, mainly:
* somehow i kept reading this series, and that's... well, that's certainly something by itself. despite all the very many issues i have with it (i'll get to them eventually), i very much wanted to finish and know what happened.
* the ending did kind of make sense. it was still underwhelming and i'll complain later, but i do think it made sense in the context of the story.
* uhm, valroy was consistent at least? at least during the ending part he did go very hard. not a compliment though, i very much did not like valroy as a character but hey, he was indeed potrayed as evil. he was bad, no argument there.

well, with that out of the way!

* puck: while i liked him overall, i didn't love the inclussion of modern mannerisms. i get why it was done (his mind being 'everywhere' at once), but it kinda broke me out of the immersion a few times. yes i was immersed, that's my business.
* anfar & perin: were they cute? yes. was the romance believable? not really, my god, did it happen fast. it felt like i blinked and they were together. but at least they were nicer to read about than uh, other people.
* abigail: listen almost four books of her being unsure is too much for me. by this point she's spent three books torn between being in love with valroy and the fact that he wants to destroy at least two worlds and it's just... honestly annoying. i was begging for her to just choose a side, and she does by the very end, but that's just it: she does it by the very end. when valroy gets abducted, she also struggles on what to do. and again, i do not like valroy. i was 100% supportive of her letting him lay in that lake and taking the throne for herself. but i knew that wasn't going to happen, so the in between was just not fun to read.
* abigail & valroy: to this day i don't get why they are in love. i do not see what they in one another to fall in love when they are complete opposites. maybe that one's on me, but the fact is that i was not into the relationship. even leaving aside how it started (which i can't do, in any case, but hypothetically) i still don't buy why they are in love. also, the whole relationship is tinted with this thing of her 'surrendering' to him and him 'conquering' her, which is kind of very much not my thing. not only that but honestly, valroy has issues with consent. i'm not saying anything earth-shattering here, obviously, this is the guy who kidnapped abigail in the first place. but this is also the one who ignored several 'wait' from abigail when they first slept together. and then, just because, we get him threatening to rape perin. and for what, exactly? what was gained there?
* valroy: i don't have much to say about him. he's bad, at least he's consistent. you know what, i feel like this is karma for every time i complained that the bad guy turning good all of a sudden was unbelievable. and yes, i liked in terms of characterization that he didn't change. i just have trouble working that with the romantic relationship.

because here's the thing, at the end of the day, the author went for abigail and valroy being life and death, two sides of a same coin, one having no sense without the other. except that... this was also very much a 'damsel at the mercy of the villain' story, so i have trouble working those two together. i don't have a trouble with reading about toxic relationships, despite what one might believe for everything i have ever said, i just need them to be equal. abigail and valroy were not equals here. maybe they grow to be, in the future. but for most of this abigail was weaker than him, and he could do what he wanted to her.

and again, abigail just spends so long not knowing how to do. she's somehow in love with valroy despite their morals not aligning and spends so long worrying about it and it's just... it happens for too long for my taste. realistically, i don't get how they got past so quickly abigail doubting to help valroy when he was captured (even though, again, to be clear, i was 100% supportive of her taking the throne for herself. not what i got! because it wasn't the point the author was getting to! but that's another thing). i also very much don't get how abigail got over so quickly the fact that he chained her with iron and wanted to keep her as his 'seelie pet' - and honestly i wasn't that surprised that he had eventually done that. at that point valroy had fantasied like three different times already of how he wanted to do that, i'm not surprised he jumped at the first opportunity to do it. it just feels like they were able to look past these things a bit quickly. but hey, maybe that's a me thing, maybe i'm the not forgiving one.

i just... overall, the abigail thing made me nearly lose my mind because i just wanted her to either become evil (i also would have taken it. if i'm already reading about this, might as well) or go against valroy. but no, the whole point was that she was life and she was the other side of him and like... i mean yeah sure. i'm not saying there's not a point there. but you know.

* anyways can you tell i didn't really like it? yeah. i didn't really enjoy it. i read them as a not physical copy, i'm probably gonna buy the physical versions of these books if they have them where i get my books. listen, i don't wanna talk about it or examine it any further.

I started this series for the spice, and stayed for the relationship building and characters. Kingsley played an Uno reverse card on my normal reading habits lol.

There was a good amount of plot twists, and I’m *almost* happy with how it ended. A selfish part of me wanted Abigail to find a way to banish the eternal ethereal dark being inside Valroy and just leave… Valroy? Though I guess the author is constantly telling us it’s who he is and they can’t be separated. I’ll settle for a carefully crafted loop hole that poetically plays on the constant balance and dance of Life and Death I guess lol.

Ps- Puck’s “every time” ness was funny, and I would die for Anfar and Perin.

Probably unpopular opinions:

Valroy doesn't love Abigail, he loves the idea of love.

Abigail is too spineless to be likeable at all.

Anfar and Perin deserved a better love story.

Abigail not freeing Valroy immediately should have been an act of betrayal that ended their relationship.

Volroy taking Abigail and imprisoning her should have been an act of betrayal that ended their relationship.

The [mostly] happy ending was way too abrupt and really jarring given how dark this book was.

The only decent character in this book was Puck. Valroy is a man child and deserves no one’s love. He uses the same crap abuser excuse over and over that he’s just made to be a dick and that’s just how he is while constantly love bombing Abigail to make up for his abuse. Abigail can’t make up her mind this entire series and goes from having a personality and some dignity in the first couple books to just being an empty character who tries to please Valroy the entire book because she “loves” him. Valroy isn’t even a good villain, he’s a child with a sword and anger issues.

Perfect. What more can I say?

This book was no different to the other three. Heart shattering, perfect. The romance, the characters, the story, everything is so beautiful I barely have the words to describe it.

One of my favorite series ever. Definitely will re read soon.

I love this so much I can't begin to describe anything I just have all these emotions in my chest and idk what to do.

Decepcionada.

I think I was a bit disappointed in the final "battle". It (the fight between Abigail and Valroy) didn't seem to really last long, I wish she could have held her own a bit more, and it kinda felt small? (particularly the Unseelie vs Seelie battle). Still nice to have finished the series, I generally love this authors writing style and, at this stage, will generally read anything they put out. Dare I say an auto-buy author?

If I’ve heard another word of mercy I am gonna barf.

Forewarned, this review is going to be harsh.

I saw raveee reviews abt this book online so with all the optimism i decided to try.

After finished reading this blasted series, what can conclude is that Abifuckinggail is the worst heroine and character that I ever have the torture of reading.

In book 1 Abifuckinggail know that she was betrayed by her husband but still she faithfully wait for him. Then come in The Unseelie King. Cue romance cue falling in love then ABFG short for Abifuckinggail got kidnapped to Unseelie. Then we got to know The King is born as crazy unhinged villain because of his fucking mother. ABFG who now we know got the purest f heart cannot see both Unseelie and Seelie at war so she started being a moron. Cue the Maze. Cue she was transform into a Seelie. Cue ABFG met with that queen and king bitch Titania and Oberon. Cue they got married. Cue Titania betrayed the King. Betrayer is that ABFG did something stupid in the maze that triggered the war between the two kingdom. Regarding the betrayal read the below summary.

Abigail did something in the Maze. Maze belong to the Unseelie King. At this point, her lover. The act almost triggered a war between two kingdom.

Titania said oh ABFG you must pay for what you done so now you die.

ABFG said I do not have any regret. My action was a mercy.

The Unseelie King. I want her she’s mine. You harm her you die.

ABFG. I propose we marry but with a thousand years lasting peace between Unseelie and Seelie.

Titania. I agree. Proceed to betrayal.

Oberon die. Served him and her right.

Cue The King got tortured by bitch queen Titania. ABFG got betrayed by two of her closest friends and companions. Instead of saving the King who is her already her husband. She proceeded being a moron and did nothing to punish those who betrayed her and her husband. Why? Because at this point ABFG ate breath and shite mercy. I might add those two betrayers also considered as friends to The King.

Then ABFG become the Unseelie Queen. Then at the end of fourth book trash happened. Idfk what happened to the Unseelie King only that he got what sentenced secluded to this farm land and ABFG become qween and live happily ever after with the betrayers. Classy I know. A new definition of trash mercy mary sue.

I wasted my time, attention for this series only to be served to this disappoinment. Should’ve put a caution for this series. Trash. Hazardous to heart. Proceed with caution. Now I need to find another series that can counter these bad tastes I have in my brain and mouth.

I know that The Unseelie King is full of faults. Crazy. Unhinged. Bloodlust. Not that its his fault his mother the God decided to have sex with demon fallen archangel because she needs a weapon to wage war on everything. But who cares, right. But I was promised a possessive full in love anti hero and he served that. Only that I was not caution about the absolutely detestable bad taste should have die heroine. I supposed I need to feel a compassion for her because she did not ask to go to Unseelie/Seelie but seeing her stupidity. Meh No.

So what should I categorize this book as? A comedic dark book? Anti hero villain? Stupid heroine? Failed Mother? My betrayers my best friends? I love body betraying syndrome? Lazy world building? A fail slow burn? Trash Ending? Anyway one thing for sure is that this book is full of #MERCY.

Still better than acotar 🤘

“I will love whatever crawls out of this place, broken in soul as it may be. I will love you, no matter what becomes of you. No matter the shape the Morrigan gives you, or what the gods might task you with. Be you worms, or flies, or trees, my heart is yours.” He was nearly shaking in his fury. “But I shall see my work be done, Abigail Moore. Mark my words. This world shall burn. And if all I have left of you when it cools is the ashes of the woman I love, then so be it."

This was much better than the third book and felt like a return to the bar first two books set for the burning tension and drama of immortal beings and everything in between. Kinda felt rushed at some point but I can't say I did not enjoy every page of it! The side characters were IT for me though; Bayodan remains a goat arse fave, Anfar is still the best boi and Puck... god that idiot is so very annoying but I cannot NOT like him 😅💜

side note: now I want a book of snippets throughout time as Abigail and Valroy play their little hunt Addie/Luc style 👀

another side note: big yaay for my boi anfar finding his much deserved love and happiness 🥰

Oh Kat, what did your fans ever do deserve your creativity! I'll just sit here squeeing like a fangirl over this book just a little longer. She did it, she blew my mind. This book had more twists and turns than an M.Night Shyamalan movie. Wow. I'd give this book 2/5 on spicy. Scenes are hot but not explicit. A few fade to blacks but a few naughty romps FINALLY! I really enjoyed the writing, the book was well edited and easy to read. I couldn't put this one down. I highly recommend anything Kat writes.
I recieved an advanced copy of this book and have not been compensated for my review. I actually liked it so much I pre-ordered a copy to support this amazing author.

4.5.

I do love that I always know what I'm going to get with a Kathryn book, and I say in every review I write for her books that she really is the queen of fantasy/paranormal villain romance. Toeing the line between having a true villain, and keeping them on just the right side of somehow being sympathetic, is not easy and she does do this very well in each book I've read.

I enjoyed this whole series and I did devour this final book and found it very gripping, however, whilst I liked the way she main driving point I'd the whole series resolved, in that it was a good concept, it just felt a little too quick and easy, maybe?

Either way, if you enjoy the author's previous works, or enjoyed the first two then I think you will be satisfied with the way this book resolves.

I honestly can’t begin to explain how amazing this series is. As all the others have this book made me laugh, ugly cry and rage at times.
The author has created an amazing world ruled by light and dark. The magick system is perfect and so well explained. The characters grow throughout the books struggling with their emotions and personal growth.
I feel head over heels in love with side characters as well as the main ones. I love how so many communities were represented so well and beautifully.
If you need a series that will grip you to the page this is the one for you.
Enemy’s to lovers, fae, magick, growth and so so much more.

Just No. Nothing has a rhyme or reason to the decisions that are made by any characters. They just pop all over the place in a muddled mess of go here go there do all the same things that have happened in the past books AGAIN. Rehashing the same "problem" for the MC over and over and over and over and over. This book was actually tiring to get through.

Valroy was a HUGE **** the whole time, annoying to the extreme while Abigail seems to be as smart and cunning as a bag of rocks and flip flopping on her decisions or lack of decisions the whole damn time. Absolutely frustrating.

Honestly, 2 stars is generous. Definitely do not recommend this book/series. Waste of time.

I read the entire installment in one sitting. That is, if you liked this review, you can check out my review for the other three books by following the respective hyperlinks: The Unseelie Prince(Maze of Shadows, #1)//The Unseelie Crown(Maze of Shadows, #2)\\The Unseelie Throne (Maze of Shadows #3).

Ok, the last book in the installment!

Pitty that I did not write a review for it as I immediately finished it (I am writing this here for months since I finished it).

I remember that I liked it. Now looking over my notes on it I am smiling because I was so trapped in the world of the book that I can barely make heads or tails of what I wanted to say.

I have just a handful of gibberish.

On how this ridiculous human succeded in making an entity to genuflect before her, just like that. I like hen things like this are portrayed and not in a corny way (arguably, for some this could have made the category of “Cornish”).

I absolutely loved this part (but it is spoiler-ish, so don`t open it if you know better):
