4 'Darling and the Beast' Stars!
I had the pleasure of going back to one of my favorite collections. I am sure you are familiar with the Midnight Dynasty collection and the Constantines / Morellis, right? This is my first full-length novel by Amelia Wilde but I’ve been waiting to read Leo and Hailey’s story ever since falling in love with them in a short story published last year.
Beast of Bishop's Landing is a boxed set with the three novels in the series and I devoured it in less than two days. I love a good forbidden love story and this one is so addictive! Leo Morelli and Hailey Constantine, two families who hate each other but their connection is too strong to miss. If you are a fan of taboo romance, with a good amount of kinkiness and steam and a whole lot of drama, you don’t want to miss this series!

I finished this trilogy over this past weekend, and I have to tell you guys something. I’m not really a fan of the type of sexual chemistry Leo and Haley had but these two were fire beyond their sexual chemistry. Their journey was fire. The story was fire. Everything about them was fire and it was glorious! Were there some parts I kinda skimmed thru? Yeah, but that’s only because I’m just not that into this dark of a sexual journey. Every other word though, those I read very carefully and absorbed like a sponge! Their story was magnificently captivating and even tho some of the plot-points I knew were going to happen, they still made me gasp when they did!
There are some plot points in this journey that some might think weren’t fleshed out enough or maybe left up in the air and they might be correct, but I think there’s a reason for that. I think future books or maybe even past books in this Midnight Dynasty world will pick up some of these and maybe fleshed them out. I’m not sure but my money is on that. *shrug* I will say one thing, a Morelli being with a Constantine comes with an inherent conflict that is already explosive in and of itself, adding conflict within the couple outside of this just feels overly dramatic and unnecessary. It happened between Leo & Haley towards the end and I found it to be silly and not really necessary for the story to work.
I’ve read some of the other Constantine/Morelli books here and there but now I am obsessed with getting my hands on all of them! These two families are probably going to be the death of me LOL

Secret Beast
The Beast of Bishop Landing lives up to his name unequivocally. He is feared and revered, no one looks at him wrong and gets away with it. He really is a beast.
Leo Morelli is ruthless when it comes to dealing with anyone but especially a Constantine. And Haley is no exception, as she offers herself up like a lamb to the slaughter.
This decades long war between the Morelli‘s and the Constantine’s is heating up again and the secrets are bursting at the seams, dying to be revealed.
I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
Hidden Beauty was spectacular!
This Beast of Bishop's Landing, although some refer to him as a prince, as he reigns over his kingdom and lives in a real castle. But to Haley, he is her dark prince, and incites these unknows sensations in her, so many emotions and feelings, ranging from hate, to infatuation, and possibly love?
After that heartbreaking ending in Secret Beast we start right up again, with Leo in the hospital, and his sister Eva arriving on the scene and taking over.
This couple's relationship is dark and deprived at times, and loving and caring at others. Leo has awoken a part of Haley that she can no longer deny, his darkness meeting her light, creating a bevy of sensation that only Leo can provide.
But that ending was devastating and shocking, again leaving me hanging and needing the answers.
Fallen Rose
This final chapter in Leo and Haley's story was perfect, and so much more than I could have expected. Their love is raw, and sometimes broken, but always emotional and heartfelt.
Several times while reading this story I was worried, worried that the outcome of this couple would not be as beautiful as I needed it to be. They fractured and broke apart so many times, and finally found the glue to put them back together and make they stick as one.
The Beast of Bishop's Landing is now the Prince of Bishop's Landing, as he always should have been.

I LOVE THIS SERIES! The seductive, erotic magic of Amelia Wilde paired with the addictive Midnight Dynasty world makes for a transfixing combination.
Book 1: 5 stars
The more I read in the Midnight Dynasty universe -the more obsessed I become. I am living for these modern, erotic fairytale stories, happily immersing myself in the dramatic, sensual, and sordid machinations of the Constantine and Morelli families. I was particularly excited for this series by Amelia both because its source material is my all time favorite fairy tale- Beauty and the Beast- but also because Amelia is an author that I’ve not yet been able to read a full length novel from but who has been on my TBR for an embarrassing amount of time. SO, I was excited to sink my teeth into Haley and Leo’s story- and I’ll definitely be coming back for more.Our heroine Haley, our updated Belle, finds herself in the clutches of the infamous Leo Morelli- whom fans from other series may recognize as a constant Constantine foe. These Constantines are quite a different flavor than the ones we’ve met before- powerless, impoverished, pawns. And when her father makes an overzealous misstep, Haley gives herself to the enemy in exchange for his freedom. The innocent beauty in the clutches of the ferocious beast.Having read prior books in this interconnected world, I’d met some of these characters before. This book can be read as a standalone, though I’ll admit I’m not sure I would have found these characters quite as menacing if I’d not already seen some of them as villains in prior stories. Leo in particular does a number on me here- I had learned to loathe him already, so switching my mindset to seeing him as a sexy anti-hero took me a minute. And, he didn’t do me any favors in getting there mentally. He’s ruthless, cold, and cruel. We don’t get to see much behind him, any sort of empathy or emotion until much later in the story. And, this is not a leading man who softens in any way, we just start to understand him more- perhaps forgive him a bit. We only get small bread crumbs of his ability to care for our innocent heroine- but eventually we got enough for me to feel something for him, to root for him.Haley is plucky and sincere- the kind of heroine that loves and forgives and tries to find redeeming qualities in others when they may not be there. So, she’s the perfect match for the unredeemable Leo. He breaks her, tortures her, is cruel to her- yet she cares. And slowly by slowly his treatment of her becomes less about penance and torture and more about connection and care. And, that draws her even more to him- draws out her own deviant desires and kinks. The chemistry between them was slow to develop for me- in part because of Leo’s coldness. But, about half way through, something started to sizzle, and I felt more attached, then ultimately addicted, to this couple. Of course just when they start to open up, just when we start to see their hearts connect, things get chaotic.As far as adaptations go, this is a pretty literal translation of my all time favorite classic. Our beast is a gnarly mafioso cursed by the scars of his family, and our beauty is still the wide-eyed bibliophile brimming with innocent determination and naïve authenticity. We have the crazy inventor father, a friendly housekeeper, a contract exchange, heck, we even have the iconic champagne gold gown. Our key plot points mirror those of the classic with ease- though our enemy takes a slightly different shape than that of the buff Gaston. That gives the plot a familiarity, though this is of course a far more naughty and erotic version. And it is naughty- our Beast is filthy and turns out our belle likes it a bit rough. Those parts of the stories- the ones that are not so dependent on the framework of the classic, are the ones that gripped me most- and where Amelia shines as a writer. Of course, those were often the more naughty parts- but in truth, to me those were also the moments where our characters became more realized, more defined. The overarching story is, of course, enjoyable and a fast paced read-and the last 40% in particular really grabbed me as chemistry escalates and as we start to run out of source material, leaving TONS of questions for where this will go next. I have a feeling I’ll like the subsequent stories even more -I think that will make the plot more unpredictable, and certainly will give Amelia a larger playground to get creative within. I’m definitely looking forward to book 2, and just what our finale means for this depraved, twisted, and complicated relationship.

Hidden Beauty is the perfect encapsulation of the beguiling, sensual, and deliciously spellbinding story-telling magic of Amelia Wilde- and in this erotic, twisted, and yummy dark Beauty and the Beast, her talents truly shine.
LEO MORELLI. Oh my heart- Amelia makes me fall head over heels for this broken beast. HE IS EVERYTHING. I didn’t think I could find him more interesting, more compelling, but I was wrong- his character arc, his steady and poignant exposure makes this whole story. In book 1, we saw the savagery- we saw the facets of his ruthless, cold, beastly nature. But we got a transformative glimmer of his true nature at our riveting conclusion- that cliffhanger that let us see the broken man behind the beast. In Hidden Beauty, there is no hiding- Amelia unleashes his heart and soul, and he is breathtaking. LIke our source material, we find that the beast is really just wounded and defensive, but beneath the growl is a heart of gold- a shocking nuance of goodness and emotional complexity. A man who sacrifices for others, a man who will do anything for those he loves, a man who has now replaced anger with vulnerability and authenticity. While our title speaks to Leo’s central motivation as an alpha- his need to hide and protect his beauty, even against her will-this story, if anything, is the opposite of that- this is about exposing the beast. The evolution of our leading mean- as we, both reader and Hayley, fall more in love with him. Physically, he’s healing, but emotionally he’s unleashed- and I was enraptured.
The catalyst of all this growth, of course, is the realizations he’s drawn from the denouement of our prior story, realization about his beauty, Haley. I really loved her in our first book, and here we get to see her find more power in what was once a powerless romantic entanglement. But, with that power comes confusion and more angst- and at times I was frustrated by her. Leo becomes more open, and she becomes more closed off and confused. Of course, she’s conflicted- torn between two families who, in all fairness, have at best ignored her and her family and at worse irreparably harmed them. But her heart is so good- and as her fierceness comes out, I appreciated that Amelia found ways to keep her soft. Their chemistry is still combustible and scorching, but now with more emotional dimension, more nuance. We get a lot more emotional intimacy, and conflict, in this second installment- resulting in a more dimensional Leo and a less naïve Haley. I adore them together, and when they are both gracing the page, I simply can not turn the pages fast enough.
Like our first book, we have familiar referential moments to the classic tale we know and love- most notably the classic “will you have dinner with me” moment that is forever ingrained in my adolescent memory. But this second installment relies less on the architecture of the classic and yields more heavily towards the creativity of Amelia Wilde- and in that this story really shines. The characters have emotional journeys similar to the fairy tale’s namesake, but Amelia has defined them anew. The prose in the second installment had a different flair- but one I appreciated. This a decidedly more meta story- one that is more focused on the internal struggles and emotional angst between these two characters than the vendetta action and games surrounding them. The result is that the pace is slower, and we have less overarching plot progress, but instead we’re treated to a closer look at the conflicted emotional processing of both of these characters- one in a battle with herself over her confused emotions, and another desperately trying to be the man his woman needs. They are both full of contradictions and imperfections, but we now start to see their love blossom in a more solid, unbreakable way.
But, while we see these two explore their feelings further, they still have much to work out, not to mention the looming obstacle of the nefarious intentions of the Morelli foes. And, of course, we have another cliffhanger - what a doozie! I’m desperate for our final installment- and holding out hope that this beauty and the beast will find their HEA.
book 3:
WHAT AN EPIC FINALE!! Amelia has saved her most intoxicating, beguiling, and spellbinding book in this trilogy for last- the perfect conclusion to this erotic, sensual, and deliciously dark beauty and the beast masterpiece. I was transfixed from the first word to the last, desperate for our star crossed lovers to find a way to conquer the evilest of Constantines, but even more desperate for our beauty and our beast to be free of their pain.
Like Haley, I’m a captive- completely owned by the intoxicating dark magnificence of Leo Morelli. HE IS EVERYTHING. Hands down Amelia’s most compelling and nuanced hero to date. And, the Morelli beast is ironically the soonest Midnight Dynasty leaning man of all. Amelia has created such a profound and compelling character evolution for this long-suffering, tortured man. In this finale, we see the full spectrum of what makes Leo Morelli- from the savage, ruthless, carnal urges of his repressed beastly nature to the altruistic, unconditional, pure love he oozes as he selflessly sacrifices for his family and Haley. But we see the entirety of the man in this conclusion, and he is breathtaking. Whereas the fabled beast wore his beastly guise as the result of a curse, Leo has donned his beastly persona of choice. He’s created a weaponized visage that protects him from exposing his pain, his trauma, his heart. But now we see the most beautiful, soul shattering aspect of this man- his vulnerability. And while we still have our alpha, dominant, possessive Morelli king, we also have a wounded, gentle, devastating besotted hero. Amelia gives us both beast and prince- and THIS IS HOW YOU EVOLVE A CHARACTER! I was transfixed by every word. His past broke my heart, but his arrestingly beautiful way of loving Haley shattered it completely. The power of his heart was truly breathtaking, I felt his pain and devotion in my very soul. Our prior books helped us understand his dimension, but now Leo has to come to terms with all parts of himself. And it’s less about harnessing the beast, and more about accepting his goodness. He has to expose all of himself, and sweet and solid Haley loves him for every piece.

Haley is his perfect match- the light to his dark, the submissive to his need for control. I loved how unwavering she is- she knows what and who she wants, and she never falters. Despite the countless obstacles her family and the vicious matriarch Caroline Constanine throw her way. She’s so pure of heart, but she’s not naive. She doesn’t want to tame the beast- she wants to accept and love him, and she also wants to help him see that he’s more than that. And in doing so, we also see her blossom, as his partner, as his equal. We see her become more than the poor Constantine captive, the pawn. I appreciated that Amelia found ways to keep her soft- but she also is POWERFUL. Their chemistry is still combustible and scorching, but now with SO much emotional dimension, because they finally are emotionally bare to one another. Completely honest, exposed, and it only strengthens their connection.
While the story has certainly veered from its beauty and the beast beginnings, Amelia finds ways to keep nodding at the themes of the original, but with her own brilliant twist. Our climatic is her best and most impactful referential moment of the entire series- I literally could not breathe I was so consumed by emotion. And, like our second story, this book is more metaphysical in focus- about the emotional wrestling these characters are doing with themselves, so our story remains deliciously meta. You feel so intimately connected to them both. And the prose is beautifully rendered.
And just when I was lamenting that this engrossing story was turning its final page for good, Amelia gifts us with an epilogue that sets us up for a spin-off that has me SALIVATING. One that I can only hope gives me a chance to dance just a little while longer with the beauty and her beast. By far one of the best stories yet in the Midnight Dynasty world, and one of my favorite Amelia Wilde series ever.

Like our first book, we have familiar referential moments to the classic tale we know and love- most notably the classic “will you have dinner with me” moment that is forever ingrained in my adolescent memory. But this second installment relies less on the architecture of the classic and yields more heavily towards the creativity of Amelia Wilde- and in that this story really shines. The characters have emotional journeys similar to the fairy tale’s namesake, but Amelia has defined them anew. The prose in the second installment had a different flair- but one I appreciated. This a decidedly more meta story- one that is more focused on the internal struggles and emotional angst between these two characters than the vendetta action and games surrounding them. The result is that the pace is slower, and we have less overarching plot progress, but instead we’re treated to a closer look at the conflicted emotional processing of both of these characters- one in a battle with herself over her confused emotions, and another desperately trying to be the man his woman needs. They are both full of contradictions and imperfections, but we now start to see their love blossom in a more solid, unbreakable way.
But, while we see these two explore their feelings further, they still have much to work out, not to mention the looming obstacle of the nefarious intentions of the Morelli foes. And, of course, we have another cliffhanger - what a doozie! I’m desperate for our final installment- and holding out hope that this beauty and the beast will find their HEA.

WHAT AN EPIC FINALE!! Amelia has saved her most intoxicating, beguiling, and spellbinding book in this trilogy for last- the perfect conclusion to this erotic, sensual, and deliciously dark beauty and the beast masterpiece. I was transfixed from the first word to the last, desperate for our star crossed lovers to find a way to conquer the evilest of Constantines, but even more desperate for our beauty and our beast to be free of their pain.
Like Haley, I’m a captive- completely owned by the intoxicating dark magnificence of Leo Morelli. HE IS EVERYTHING. Hands down Amelia’s most compelling and nuanced hero to date. And, the Morelli beast is ironically the soonest Midnight Dynasty leaning man of all. Amelia has created such a profound and compelling character evolution for this long-suffering, tortured man. In this finale, we see the full spectrum of what makes Leo Morelli- from the savage, ruthless, carnal urges of his repressed beastly nature to the altruistic, unconditional, pure love he oozes as he selflessly sacrifices for his family and Haley. But we see the entirety of the man in this conclusion, and he is breathtaking. Whereas the fabled beast wore his beastly guise as the result of a curse, Leo has donned his beastly persona of choice. He’s created a weaponized visage that protects him from exposing his pain, his trauma, his heart. But now we see the most beautiful, soul shattering aspect of this man- his vulnerability. And while we still have our alpha, dominant, possessive Morelli king, we also have a wounded, gentle, devastating besotted hero. Amelia gives us both beast and prince- and THIS IS HOW YOU EVOLVE A CHARACTER! I was transfixed by every word. His past broke my heart, but his arrestingly beautiful way of loving Haley shattered it completely. The power of his heart was truly breathtaking, I felt his pain and devotion in my very soul. Our prior books helped us understand his dimension, but now Leo has to come to terms with all parts of himself. And it’s less about harnessing the beast, and more about accepting his goodness. He has to expose all of himself, and sweet and solid Haley loves him for every piece.

Haley is his perfect match- the light to his dark, the submissive to his need for control. I loved how unwavering she is- she knows what and who she wants, and she never falters. Despite the countless obstacles her family and the vicious matriarch Caroline Constanine throw her way. She’s so pure of heart, but she’s not naive. She doesn’t want to tame the beast- she wants to accept and love him, and she also wants to help him see that he’s more than that. And in doing so, we also see her blossom, as his partner, as his equal. We see her become more than the poor Constantine captive, the pawn. I appreciated that Amelia found ways to keep her soft- but she also is POWERFUL. Their chemistry is still combustible and scorching, but now with SO much emotional dimension, because they finally are emotionally bare to one another. Completely honest, exposed, and it only strengthens their connection.
While the story has certainly veered from its beauty and the beast beginnings, Amelia finds ways to keep nodding at the themes of the original, but with her own brilliant twist. Our climatic is her best and most impactful referential moment of the entire series- I literally could not breathe I was so consumed by emotion. And, like our second story, this book is more metaphysical in focus- about the emotional wrestling these characters are doing with themselves, so our story remains deliciously meta. You feel so intimately connected to them both. And the prose is beautifully rendered.
And just when I was lamenting that this engrossing story was turning its final page for good, Amelia gifts us with an epilogue that sets us up for a spin-off that has me SALIVATING. One that I can only hope gives me a chance to dance just a little while longer with the beauty and her beast. By far one of the best stories yet in the Midnight Dynasty world, and one of my favorite Amelia Wilde series ever.

It is such a treat to read all three of these books together like this! The cliffhangers in Amelia’s books are legendary and these were especially tough ones.
In Secret Beast, you are introduced Leo Morelli and Haley Constantine and, if you’ve been paying attention at all to the Midnight Dynasty world, the latest Dangerous Press releases, you know they are members of rival families.
And you may have deduced, this book is loosely based on Beauty and the Beast. Leo exploits Haley’s love for her dad and has her “stay” with him in his castle. Let’s just say that Leo is no Disney Prince and they are both surprised by how compatible they are.
In Hidden Beauty, you really see the man behind the beast. You get a sense of the changing dynamic of their relationship, one of equals with their own strengths and weaknesses. While, Leo likes to be in charge of all things, we see him in moments where that’s not possible and how strong Haley can be for him.
in the final chapter, Fallen Rose, you see the culmination of the Morelli/Constantine feud and a bit of switching sides and lowering of walls. Leo shows surprising vulnerability and stupidity. But you never doubt that his goal is always to protect his beauty, Haley.

This series is about Leo Morelli and Haley Constantine, it's full of suspense, great spicy scenes, intense backstories and is a great retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
If you've read the Cinderella Series by K. Webster then you've met Leo Morelli and like me, probably think he's a short tempered ass. This series was very much a redemption for the Leo we meet in that series. He becomes less of a monster and more of a man.
Haley Constantine is the cousin to Winston's family and is part of the Constantine's that don't have all the money in the world. She's young, naïve and cries a lot. I was not a huge fan of Haley at the end of the first book, second and into the third because I was hoping she would stop the crying and start doing something to help herself. I'm a fan of strong heroines and she just was not growing the backbone she needed. HOWEVER, by the end of the third book, Haley finally stepped up and became a woman who could stand by a Morelli.
This series was packed full of struggles for Leo and Haley, not only brought on by themselves, but also orchestrated by outside parties. The happily ever after was something that was truly deserved for both of them and I loved that with this edition we are able to see after the HEA. This was a great series, I'd recommend starting with Winston and Ash's story in Stroke of Midnight so that you can get the full effect of how Leo is perceived versus who he really is. Oh Amelia, what you do to me! Leo and Haley are simply DIVINE. This story in it's entirety captivated me from start to finish. I squealed, I squirmed, I swooned, I smiled, I cried, and the cycle repeated itself more than once.
I loved every single minute of this sweet torture as Leo discovered who he was and what he needed to be truly happy, and Haley discovered discovered her inner strength and what she had to give to make herself truly happy. And their journey is an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey and so worth it.
This story has it all. Drama, intrigue, history, villains, antiheroes, heroes, friendships, lovers, loyalty, and so much MORE!
You need to settle in and DEVOUR this trilogy, STAT! So, what are you waiting for? Time to succumb to the Beast of Bishop's Landing. I know I gladly did so, and am already planning to do so again, in short order!

Woah I definitely didn’t think I’d be the one saying Leo Morelli is my favorite Morelli but dangggg he is!! This is a dark retelling of the beauty and the beast fairytale, but in the world of the Constantine’s and the Morellis, this is no fairy tale. Over the span of three books and some bonus epilogue material, this beast makes you fall in love with him after he takes Haley Constantine due to a deal with her father. Cue the secretly evil Caroline Constantine (at least in my eyes) trying everything in her power to keep these two apart, going to extremes that have lasting impacts. Many obstacles stand in their way but this trilogy is well worth the drama, love, and steam - happily a favorite!

This is a bind up of The Beast of Bishop’s Landing series. I’ve been a big fan of series bind ups lately so this was perfect for me.
The story is a Beauty & the Beast inspired mafia romance and it certainly delivers! Each novel has twists and turns. I particularly liked that I could jump into the next one and didn’t have to deal with any cliffhangers. Woohoo!
The characters have amazing chemistry and Wilde brings the steam.
This is an enjoyable adult fairytale retelling that has a satisfying conclusion

This is the boxset of Secret Beast, Hidden Beauty, and Fallen Rose - the trilogy about Leo Morelli and Hayley Constantine. It also includes a bonus epilogue. I think this is a great, cost-saving way to get this entire trilogy - a Beauty and the Beast-inspired contemporary romance with a dark edge. I'm including my previous review of Secret Beast, the first book, below:
Secret Beast is book one in a new series and is a faithful, contemporary retelling of the classic Beauty & the Beast, albeit modernized and darker. Leo is a delicious hero with a painful past, and Haley is the perfect person to "heal" him. The hot stuff has some BDSM elements to it, light enough that those who don't enjoy that sort of thing will likely still enjoy it here. I would have liked more interactions between them throughout the book, but even without it and being on the shorter side I really enjoyed how it reminded me of the cartoon movie I loved as a child written for the adult me who loves dark romance books. I am curious to see how things progress in the series following the cliffhanger ending.

One can never get enough retellings of Beauty and the Beast, at least that is what I keep telling myself. This was different than I was expecting, especially, since I have only known this author from her modernization of Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon stories. However, even though this is different than those stories, I really enjoyed myself.
It took me a little bit to figure out where I knew some of the side characters from, but once I did it made the story have that much more impact. It was dirty and decadent and I loved the depravity or characteristics of Leo. I found myself drawn to Leo as he interacted with Haley. I wasn't as sure about Haley because her character didn't have the oomph that Leo did but I am hoping that will change in the next book. I appreciated the intermingling of worlds and found that it made me want to either go read the other characters' books or do a reread if I had previously read them.
There were a few areas that I wished had been fleshed out more (mainly Caroline and how the book came to the pivotal ending. There is a whopper of a cliffhanger and had me muttering, "Oh, no she didn't" in regard to the last lines so I am looking forward to where she takes this book next.
Hidden Beauty
How did she make me fall in love even harder than I already was?
One of the hardest things to do is to make me love the second book more than I like the first. There is a tendency to have things slow down in the second book as it makes way to the climax of the story in a trilogy in my opinion. I can say without a doubt that it was not the case in this story. This book was even better than the first and had me devouring each word as if it was the very air I breathe.
I thought I loved Leo in the first book. However, that Leo has nothing on the Leo of this book. There was magic happening in this book as I not only experienced things that were happening from Haley's perspective but also from Leo's. It added depth to the story. The author's writing seemed even more poetic in how she crafted certain sentences and she kept me captivated throughout, even more so than normal.
Even though this technically is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, it is so much more than that, and in my opinion, I think that it is better than any of the other retellings that I have read. It is uniquely its own story and I love that. Strong characters, some of the HOTTEST (and I mean hotter than a Las Vegas sidewalk in August type of hot) smexy times (one scene in particular almost melted my kindle), and a great buildup of what is to come in the final book. I might have sworn when the end of the book happened and ended on a cliffhanger (by might, I TOTALLY did). All I can think about is how Leo is going to lose his ever-loving mind at how things ended in this book when he discovers it.
I love the little cameo of another favorite character of mine too. Highly recommend this book and author. She is one of my favorite discoveries of 2020.
Fallen Rose

This was the conclusion that I was wanting when I started this series. This author has an innate ability to tell a story in a way that I, as the reader, get consumed by what is happening. This is one of the better retellings of Beauty and the Beast that I have read.
In each of the books, the characters have shown real growth and I live for that. They grew as the story grew. Both, Leo and Hayley managed to come into their own more in this last book, especially, Leo, and I have to say I was there for it. I liked watching him show his vulnerable side and getting in touch with his emotions. I understood that it was easier to be the villain, especially, when in the amount of pain that he was in, but seeing him soften was nice. It is not to say that he still isn't a beast of a man, because he is. However, Haley mellows him. She is like a soothing balm to his soul. Let me, also, not forget to mention the steam. The steam was HOT. Leo and his mouth. I shouldn't like it but sweet lord, I did. A LOT.
All of my previous questions were answered. I still hate Caroline with the fiery passion of 10,000 suns. Every book she has been in this Midnight Dynasty interconnected series has me wanting to reach through my kindle and shake her. That means the authors have done their job because there is nothing redeemable about her. NOTHING. There was also a cameo from one of my favorite guys. I liked that his appearance felt natural and like he should have been there. Especially, considering that they have something in common and ultimately was able to help Leo.
This book was almost perfect, except I wanted more of a resolution to Evil Queen Caroline as I wanted more payback. Still, this trilogy is dang good. One of my favorites of the Midnight Dynasty series and one of my favorites of 2021.

Leo is in top five favorite heroes ever for me! I just adore this man. This is the most captivating, romantic, emotional, dark but sweet modern day retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I could read this story on repeat. I read the original three book series and completely fell in love so when Amelia announced all in one book with bonus content, I knew I had to read it again. Loved every minute.

This story grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let you go. Leo Morelli! What a perfect, beautiful, broken, beast you make. And Haley Constantine was just what he needed to flip his world around. When Haley’s father strikes a deal with Leo Morelli to fund one of his inventions, he doesn’t realize that he just signed his life away. Upon learning of what her father has done, sweet, innocent, and brave Haley will stop at nothing to break her father free of this contract. Leo, being the beast he is, uses this opportunity to offer her a new agreement where she’s to be at his mercy for a whole month. Having no other options, Haley accepts his terms and rules.. pretty much one rule, she’s his to do with as he pleases. Poor little Haley in the hands of the beast but if you all love the original fairy tale, you know that the beast still has a heart... deep, deep down. 😉

After what happens at the end of book one, Leo is sort of reborn and has only one purpose in life, to keep Haley safe. Ofcourse the only way he knows how is to lock her up in his fancy home like a true beast would. Angry at him for keeping her away from her family, Haley tries to defy him at every step. Their interactions are everything. The sole focus of this book is on the two of them and their relationship. This is what I’d consider a true romance story. It checks all the boxes for me and then some.

I absolutely loved every second of it. Leo you’re the most hauntingly beautiful man inside and out. This last book hooked me from the beginning. It is such a good story, full of unexpected twists and turns, heart wrenching moments, and swoon worthy lines. I loved, LOVED the appearances from some of my favorite characters from other books.. especially the tall blonde one! 😉 Heart melted!
And then the bonus content! I think we need one of these about once a year Amelia! 🥰 So good!

I am obsessed with all things Midnight Dynasty!!
The Beast of Bishop’s Landing is a modern re-telling of Beauty and the Beast and Amelia Wilde's version is brilliant!!
It's intense, dark, and absolutely delicious! An extreme emotional roller coaster ride!
You first meet Leo in Winston and Ash's story. Typical thug who thinks he rules the world. I was not a fan. Then I read Dark Reign and was introduced to a different side of Leo. Still cruel, but you also get a glimpse of his softer side...his damaged side. Then there's Haley. A lesser Constantine. She is the balm that soothes Leo's Beast. The two of them together...so damn hot!!
I love a story where the one you thought was the villain, isn't really the villain, and then you find out who really is and you get all giddy when they get the payback they deserve!! #teamleo
There is so much suspense, it will have you on the edge of your seat.
That ending to Secret Beast!! UGH!! I had to pull out the kleenex. He should have whipped her harder. I knew there was a reason I didn't like Caroline. Thankfully, with this box set, I could jump right into the next book.
Hidden Beauty broke my heart and had me so anxious. My emotions were all over the place. So much pain and anger. Of course, Leo and Haley finally get to a place where things between them are good, and then it all goes to hell.
The one thing that stays the same throughout the trilogy is the tension between Leo and Haley. It is so tight, once it snaps, it's explosive. 🔥
Again, the couple gets to a good place, then the shit hits the fan for a second time. Or is it the third?? Honestly I lost track and that’s not a bad thing. The struggles Leo and Haley went through to be together were maddening.
In Fallen Rose, I was so happy when Haley finally grew a backbone and stood up to Caroline. 👏🏻 Someone needs to put that woman in her place!!
In all the books I’ve read, I don’t think I’ve seen someone struggle as much as Leo has. I just want to hug him. 🤗
I apologize if this review is all over the place, this trilogy just had me so out of it emotionally, it was a bit difficult to put my feelings into words that would properly describe how I felt about it.
In short, I FLIPPING LOVED IT!!! ❤️ Amelia Wilde has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I would 100% recommend any of her books, but especially those within the Midnight Dynasty World. Definitely a 5 star read!!

If there is one thing I love in a story, it is a damaged, angry man. I could not have asked for one more broody or mysterious than Leo Morelli. He was without a doubt one of the most deeply complex and multi-faceted heroes I’ve read. In the Cinderella retelling by K Webster, Leo is one of the villains and it goes to show that there are two sides to every story.
I can’t say much about this story without giving away all the best parts. What I will say is that I couldn’t have enjoyed this series more. Amelia Wilde made me experience more empathy for these fictional characters than I thought was possible. She crafted people that were deeply scarred and traumatized and made all the better for it. She took what I had written off as a silly, spoiled, foul-tempered man, and made him into a brave and selfless hero.
Haley was a joy to read. She will almost certainly make my top heroines of 2022. Her strength and willingness to sacrifice for her family even though it scared her was almost surprising based off of the beginning we have to her story. But she grew into her strength and saved those around her time and time again.
This story was thrilling and emotional. The action never lets down for a moment and you’re always wondering what will happen next. Amelia does a great job of setting a gorgeous scene and keeping you entertained and immersed in the story.
The spice in this book is immaculate. We’ve got degradation, hand necklaces, good-girls a plenty. Their chemistry is off the charts and if I could use one word to describe the spice, it would be decadent.
Even though the spice is top shelf, you’ll be so enamored with the storytelling that it does just what spice should do. It adds to the plot. You won’t find yourself skimming pages just to ‘get to the good stuff.” This whole series is the good stuff.
I am so thankful for the ARC of the Beast of Bishop’s Landing. Having all three of the books compiled into one made my reading experience so cool. The story flowed so well between books that at one point I didn’t even realize I was two chapters into book three.
At the end of the day, I can’t make you read this series…. But I will be talking about it incessantly until you do.

The feud between the Morelli and Constantine families is epic. These two powerful families are warring against each other, and there are secrets that have the power to devastate and destroy them all. It is a wild and twisted ride that you never want to end. You've been warned. This is not for the faint of heart.
When I started Beast of Bishop's Landing, I knew it would consume me, burn me up from the inside out. This love story ripped my heart out but it was put back together in the end. The words burrowed themselves so deep, I know this book hangover will be with me for some time to come. It was worth every last angsty, beautiful moment.
These characters were so complex. Leo Morelli is one-of-a-kind. Hands down. He was so beautifully broken, flawed; a walking contradiction (i.e. cruel and kind, hard and soft), and there were so many complicated layers to him. Peeling those layers back was like a religious experience. Haley was just the balm he needed to soothe his wounds. She saw everything. She was young and innocent but strong enough to take on the Beast of Bishop's Landing. There were times when I felt a little frustrated with her and her actions but I realize that she was young and naive, and she'd do anything to save her family. Together, they sizzled and soared. Their love wasn't easy but damn, to have this kind of pure, passionate, and all-consuming love was a thing of beauty to see, and so worth it in the end.
This dark retelling of Beauty and the Beast is a must-read. It is dark, twisted, and heartbreaking. I ran the gamut of emotions and couldn't get enough of Leo and Haley. It is very angsty and hits you in all the feels. There are triggers that some may find difficult to read. With that said, I could not put this book down. This is a binding of the three novels in the Beast of Bishops's Landing series (Secret Beast, Hidden Beauty and Fallen Rose) plus a bonus epilogue. The Beast of Bishop's Landing series is a modern dark romance retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
This is the fourth series by Amelia Wilde that I've read, and each series gets even better. She has quickly become one of my all time favourite authors. I only found out after reading this series that it's part of the so called Midnight Dynasty collection, featuring multiple series by multiple authors, all revolving around various characters that are part of a larger story. You can trust that I will be making my way through the other series now as well, because I'm invested!
This bundle starts with Secret Beast, which I instantly loved. It's dark, it's intense, it's dangerous, and it keeps you at the edge of your seat the entire way through. The book ends with a cliffhanger, and it leaves you wanting for more.
Next is Hidden Beauty, which dives deeper into the story of the feud between the Morellis and the Constantines. It shows more of Leo's dark past and once again ends with a cliffhanger. If you love Hades and Persephone retellings, you're going to love the bit of Hades that we'll see in this book, which sets up for Amelia Wilde's King of Shadows trilogy (another fantastic series!).
Last is Fallen Rose, which is the grand finale of this series and it does not disappoint. Haley is a very brave and headstrong character, but my heart belongs to Leo. While yes he is the Beast, this book shows that there is so much more behind him. His vulnerability is everything and it broke my heart. The series ends on a heartwarming high note, and leaves little sprinkles for other series in the Midnight Dynasty world.
Overall the series is a 5-star read for me. It's dark and gripping. I've read the full series in one day. I've loved everything I've read by Amelia Wilde so far, but this was definitely my favourite series by her.

Secret Beast might be one of my favorite Beauty and the Beast retellings. It stayed very true to the classic story, but at the same time was made its own, and I love when books do that. I feel like I say this with each new installment in this world, but Haley and Leo are quickly shaping up to be my favorite couple! At least until the next book comes. I can't wait to see how things turn out for them.
In the second book (Hidden Beauty) we get more insight into Leo's past and family history. And there is of course, some family drama with Haley.
And in Fallen Rose, we finally see Haley and Leo get their happily ever after! They had to go through so much, both together and apart. My favorite part of this book (trilogy), was all of the family history we got to learn, and finally getting to see the two enemy families coming together. Hoping to see more of that in future Midnight Dynasty books. The bonus epilogue in this combined boxset, perfectly wraps up everything.
Oh, and Caroline can suck it! I didn't think she could be any lower in my opinion, but this series managed to do it.

Happy re-release day to the Beast of Bishop's Landing trilogy!
I have read several books by Amelia Wilde in the last couple of months, and I have fallen in love with each one! Leo Morelli is a new favorite book boyfriend of mine, and getting to see his perspective throughout each book allowed me to really understand him more. The chemistry between him and Haley was honestly AMAZING, and that library scene with them is going to live rent-free in my mind for the rest of my life. I really love how interconnected Wilde's books are with her other characters and storylines, so I thoroughly enjoyed getting to see some of her other characters sprinkled throughout this trilogy! Because this is three books in one, it was quite long, and I felt myself getting burnt out at times, but it never lasted long before something intense or exciting happened between the characters. I would HIGHLY recommend picking this book up if you love innocent heroines who fall in love with a possessive alpha male who would burn the world down to keep them safe.

Overall I loved this bundle of books!
These are three books about Haley Constantine and Leo Morelli. I loved how this couple's story unfolded.
Secret Beast: Leo Morelli wants his revenge on the Constantine family, so when Philip Constantine comes to him looking to fund his inventions, he jumps at the chance.
When Haley finds out her father has become involved with Morelli, she steps in to try and protect him. She agrees to spend thirty days with him, allowing him anything he wants in order to earn her father's freedom from his contract.
Hidden Beauty: Picking up right where the other ended, Haley and Leo's sister Eva are glued to Leo's side as he recovers from his injuries. Just as his health is getting better, Haley is kidnapped by evil hag Caroline. He'll stop at nothing to get her back.
Fallen Rose: Haley is still having nightmares from her time away from Leo. But when her father suffers a heart attack he sends her away so she can be by his side. And to free her from his darkness. But he's spiraling out of control and once again Haley rushes to his side to pull him back from the edge.

Again Ms. Wilde stunned me, again I lost myself in her writing, and again she broke my heart with the final installment of Haley and Leo's story, only to put it back together and tear it into even tinier bits and pieces.
This book sent me on a roller coaster ride of emotions, and I had to stop reading every now and then to just digest what I had read, to catch my breath and calm down. Yes, it is that overwhelming, that compelling, and that intense.

3.5 stars for me. This trilogy is a modern day retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The Constantine and Morellei's are enemies. Haley Constantine offers herself to Leo Morelli in exchange for saving her father. I struggled to get through the first book. The history between the two families is what kept me reading, but Leo's treatment of and the relationship with Haley was just hard for me to like.

This is hands down the absolute best way to get your hands on this series because not only does it get you Leo and Haley's complete romance with no cliffhanger wait times (and trust me when I say you WILL really appreciate that!), but if you are already a fan of this heart stealing, temperature spiking, have you laid out flat from all the swoon couple, you DESPERATELY NEED THE BONUS CONTENT!!!!
I'm not going to downplay just how much I love this couple. They are my absolute favorite. I love the awesome cleverness of their story which is a mash-up of a modern re-imagined twist on Beauty & The Beast and decadent, juicy and wickedly twisted, dark romance. It is an enticing and potent combo that pulls you in and ensnares in a tantalizing world full of brutal and dangerous rivalries, stunning secrets, taut tension, fierce intensity and raw and deep emotions. Prepare to have your own emotions run the gamut because you will be feeling EVERYTHING and loving every single second of it (even if you might want to lay the smackdown on some very deserving people along the way)!!

If you love Beauty and the Beast retellings and dark and dangerous romances, then the box set of Leo Morelli and Haley Constantine is for you. Hades may be my favorite alpha anti hero from Amelia, but thanks to this series, Leo is a real close second. I loved the action, the drama, and the story telling that is so unique to Amelia. And don’t get me started on the steam, because there was lots of it. The new bonus content at the end of the trilogy was cherry on top of this. It was so perfect for Leo and Haley and only added to the reasons I love them so much.
