Worth the Chase

Rate this book
From USA Today bestselling author J.D. Hollyfield comes a heartwarming, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy about falling in love with your one-night stand. But of course, it can’t be that easy.

CHASE
Hit it and quit it.

That’s always been my motto. Falling in love is for chumps and I vow to never go down that road again. So, when a bombshell blonde approaches me at the bar looking to hook up, I am more than willing to oblige.

One night is my limit, but after our night of passion, I would change my rules for another round with her. Shame, the only proof she even existed is the lingering scent of cherries and the damn smile I can’t get rid of.

Or so I thought.

BRIDGET
Losing the love of your life puts your whole world into perspective, especially when the one man who is supposed to protect you is the very man who took it all away. I’m done feeling betrayed. From now on I make the rules. And currently, my eyes are set on the tan, muscular, guy sitting at the bar. I don’t know him. He doesn’t know me. One night together is exactly what I need.

But when I open the front door to my cousin's house, and I see him standing on the other side...that's the moment everything gets complicated.

Worth the Chase is steamy, sweet, funny and emotional.
What happens when Chase the hit and quit it guy has a change of heart! A one-night stand with Bridgette was all it was supposed to be until they meet again, and things aren't so clear.
She has wormed her way into his heart and his world will never be the same! Get ready for great chemistry, a swoon worthy hero and witty smart banter! Such a great read!

Worth the Chase by J.D. Hollyfield was entertainment overload. And it also has so much feels. The chemistry was burning the pages. Chase is just the kind of hero who will win your heart instantly and Bridget won't stay behind. They have a brilliant witty, flirty, swoony, steamy and intense energy that is just all consuming.

This story can also be called when the player gets played. Chase has been living his best single life and mocking his best friends who are in committed relationship. Then he has a sizzling hot one night stand with a blonde bombshell. And then they meet again. Bridget is his best friend's cousin. So she is off limits. But he is attracted to her deeply and want to know her more. She has emotional baggage but Chase is making her feel alive again.

The whole story has such a vibrant vibe that is balanced beautifully with raw emotions. Chase has a very colourful personality. He has been hurt before so he keeps his encounters light and superficial. He has wicked sexy humour and arrogant charm. And it was just hilarious to see such a confident player getting all awkward and nervous for Bridget. She is a fighter. Manipulative and hard hearted parents. A tragic past. But she never stopped fighting. She feels she is broken and damaged but Chase doesn't see that. He looks at her sass and her beauty and her fire. How she is strong and loving and caring. She healed his heart and vice versa. Their chemistry was super hot. But they had to sort out through their messy feels. Chase didn't want to hurt his best friend and like any perfect hero, he made mistakes and grovelled so good. Their whole friends group and the bromance was on point. The author added just the dash of drama and suspense that brought Chase and Bridget even closer. I am just in love with every part of this story!

This was sometimes sweet and a lot of times funny.
Chase was such a big lovable goof!

Not only was this story enjoyable and humorous, but it was also filled with some heart and a bit of suspense.

Chase started out as a big-time player and a guy who teases and taunts his friends who are in relationships. Saying they’re burdened with a ball and chain. Because you’ll never catch him in a serious relationship ever again. Having been burned once, badly, he has no intentions of ever settling down.

Enter the gorgeous angel who approaches him at the bar. One night is all it’s going to be. But WHY is he so mesmerized by her and why does he get these weird fuzzy feelings when he looks at her, talks to her, and kisses her?

Watching Chase work through his feelings and confusion and then realize he needs to be with her was entertaining. And it was nice to see Chase grow emotionally throughout the book. By the end, he was a completely different person, yet still the same crazy, Twilight-loving/defending guy. The interactions between him and Bridget were sometimes serious, sometimes heartwarming, and often hilarious.

If you’re looking for a RomCom that’ll give you some laughs, that is sometimes a little over the top, and also adds a little mystery to the pages, I recommend this one.

The author sets up the next book in the series, a nice little tease. Looking forward to that one!

Oh my goodness this book was SO FREAKING GOOD. It was funny, steamy, emotional and even a little suspenseful at the end. Chase had me cracking up with just how much his Angel made him change his ways from the very first glance. I loved how he couldn't control his words around her, and even though he tried to remain unflappable (and try he did, lmao. It wa so funny to see him squirm!) But this softie is so much more than his playboy persona, and my heart broke for him when we find out just why he was like that. Until his angel saved him.💜

As for Bridget, my goodness she was an amazing heroine. She's mourning the loss of her ex fiance whom she thought she would always get old and gray with, and the poor girl has some much unwarranted guilt on her shoulders. When she propositions a stranger at a bar, she had no idea their steamy night would turn into anything more. Or that Chase would be in her everyday life, but she was so wrong. And once our resident vampire loving bad boy broke down her walls, it was just SO epic! I haven't laughed like this in a while and let me tell you -- I NEEDED to.

Im going to go back and read all the other couples from this author now. Yall need to one click this book once it comes out!!

OMG I need a Chase in my life. He is one of the funniest characters I have read in FOR-EVER! The things he says has me dying with laughter. I am still smirking after turning the last page. When he is with his boys and the conversations they have included so much hilarity, my sides hurt from laughing.

Bridget brings her own unique self to the table. My heart aches when I find out about her past. Plan for more though. She has the right kind of feisty which keeps me guessing what she will do next.

At times I wasn’t sure if I was missing something which might be because I haven’t read the other books in this series. I am gonna fix that. Wink.

I will warn you… buckle up and hang on later in this book. It gets INTENSE! I was on the edge of my seat. Don’t judge me but I might have welled up a bit. Sooo flipping good.

Lastly I will say Bridget and Chase know how to spice up the page and even made me chuckle a bit. This is definitely a FULL EXPERIENCE read that recommended. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO

ARC review: She does it again! Man, Chase really redeemed himself in this one. It’s fun to watch the bad boys fall. And he fell- fast and hard. That’s what she said. Sorry - got Chase humor on the brain. That’s the best part of this. It deals with some heavy baggage (no triggers) but the humor and dialogue really lightened it up where it could’ve gotten too heavy. I adored Chase and I also loved the direction the nanny position took. It would’ve been easy to fall into a cliche trope there but I was pleasantly surprised with that development. All around - another fantastic read.

Universal

Chase has lived his life as carefree and without romantic entanglements since a girl broke his heart. He sees some of his friends falling in love and settling down, and he's disgusted. But you know the biggest players are the ones who fall the hardest, and that is exactly what happens when a beautiful but broken woman enters his life and turns everything upside down. Suddenly, he's nervous and unsure of himself, losing his normal swagger when he realizes she wants nothing to do with him. All he wants is to get to know the woman who rocked his world, but she keeps turning him down. Will Bridget ever let him into her life? Into her heart?

Bridget has spent the last few years since losing her first love, pushing everyone away and keeping herself from getting hurt again. Meeting a gorgeous man one night and letting him into her world, even just for the night, doesn't quite work out the way she had planned, though, when he persists in getting to know her. Doesn't he understand that she's not capable of more? Or is she only setting herself up for more pain by denying how Chase makes her feel?

Whew, when perennial player Chase falls, he falls hard! I loved reading as he completely bumbled his way into Bridget's life, and finally into her heart. He was so sweet and goofy that I couldn't help but fall in love with him, just like Bridget did. They share intense chemistry, damaged hearts, but finally find healing and love with each other. There was a bit of suspense, a big circle of amazing friends and family, and I couldn't help but laugh and love along with them. I can't wait until the next friend gets taken to his knees by love now.

“Love is terrifying. But with the right person, it’s beautiful.”

Forcing yourself to put down a book so you can go to sleep can only mean one thing. You’ve just fallen in love with another book and the author.

“Worth The Chase” was an unexpectedly THE most enjoyable read, it had me laughing (a lot), swooning, and falling just as hard for these characters as they did for each other. I’m a cover person so that’s the first thing that grabs my attention, sometimes I read the blurb and sometimes I don’t. I like to surprise myself that way. This cover, well it’s a M. Lancaster cover so it sold me right there. But the inside was one of the best romance stories. Chase Steinberg was burned once and it wasn’t happening again. He swore off falling in love, until he sees her in a bar, an Angel. You have to read this book! I loved it! Worth The Chase hit my favorites of 2022!

Worth The Chase is a cute romance with some lighthearted humor mixed in.

Chase is a player, plain and simple. He's honest with the women he's with and just doesn't believe love is in the cards for him.

Bridget is trying to move forward after losing her fiancé but getting slack from the people who are to support you doesn't make that easy.

Bridget decides to do something wild and have a one-night stand. Chase is down for this until he's had a slice of what Bridget is like.

I enjoyed watching these two go through so many situations. I have to say, for a man who doesn't believe in love, he really pulls out all the stops to get Bridget's attention.

The dialogue and interactions between Chase and Bridget were very cute and sometimes quite hilarious.

This is a very easy and light romantic read that many readers will enjoy.

I thought Bridget and Chase were an interesting combination. Chase has a reputation as a player, and he may have finally met the person who will reform his ways. Bridget may have other ideas though. She has a history that’s left her gun shy for good reason. They both seem to be on their own path, and with the entanglements they have, it’s hard to say if getting involved will work out well. Misunderstandings and mayhem abound, and if these two are going to survive all the chaos, the best way to do it might be with the other person by their side. Chase’s inner monologues (that sometimes result in verbal ramblings) make this worth the read alone, but Bridget’s ability to give back as good as she gets takes this up a notch!

Note: This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased opinion.

J.D. Hollyfield took me on a rollercoaster ride with Worth the Chase. It started it off as a romantic comedy as advertised. Then it took a more serious turn into contemporary romance for a bit, and then wound up with a bit of romantic suspense. It was a wild ride and well worth feeling slightly discombobulated at times trying to figure out where things were headed. Luckily, that was an HEA for Chase and Bridget. So, I'm going to break the rest of this review into romantic comedy, contemporary, and romantic suspense to explain my thoughts and feelings on this one. I think it will be easier that way.

ROMANTIC COMEDY
Chase and Bridget started out in a funny way. He's a known lady's man and she's a sweet young woman. They have a one-night stand that lingers in their minds. You wouldn't think these two people would necessarily mesh well, but their personalities kind of offset each other. I have to admit I didn't know if I was going to love Chase's character at first, but he was hilarious and ended up being more than I thought he would be. Bridget was a character I loved from the start. Bridget kind of mellowed Chase out in the best of ways.

CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE
Everything wasn't all laughs in this book. Both Chase and Bridget had some dark moments in their past they were hiding behind. Meeting each other and opening up helped them try to move on. I loved how being with each other helped them begin to heal. It was sweet and emotional.

ROMANTIC SUSPENSE
There was evil lurking in the background as I read this book. I could see it coming in a couple of ways, but I wasn't sure how it was all going to play out until it happened. One thing I expected didn't come and I was actually grateful for that. Another blew things up in a crazy good way. I normally am not a big fan of a romantic suspense subplot, but it worked here for me. I actually loved where it took this book.

HEA
Surprise! I'm actually throwing in the HEA, too. Well, I'm not going to give anything away other than to say that I loved how this book circled back after all of the humor, emotions, and suspense to the humor and romantic comedy aspect of the beginning. I loved how Chase and Bridget ended up. Their story was fun to read.

So, yeah. This was an entertaining read. I'm really hoping we get their Chase's friend Ben's book next/soon. I guess this is where I should also mention Worth the Chase has characters from Chicks, Man. While it isn't necessary to read that book first, it will help with all the side characters and relationships.

Bridget has been through so much over the last few years, she is just doing what she can to get by and not truly living her life only living with regret. She wants to get out from under the scrutiny and judgement of her parents and to start she decides a one night stand would be a good place to start. One night with a guy that is incredible, funny, and sexy was everything she wanted, she just never thought she would ever see him again. Chase is a cocky playboy because his past made him that way with a broken heart and humiliation, so after his night with his incredible angel he can’t get her off his mind which is unusual. When Chase sees her at his best friend’s gathering he sees it as his chance to get to spend more time with her, but he is met with resistance. Bridget doesn’t want to date, she’s still trapped in the past so she continuously blows Chase off, but he is relentless in pursuing something. This story was one that was sad, suspenseful, hilarious, and so much more. Chase was my absolute favorite part because his humor would leave you laughing, yet underneath you knew was a standup guy who would do anything for anyone especially his friends. His banter with Bridget was always entertaining and their connection was amazing, but it made me so mad when they all turned on him and wouldn’t believe a word he said let alone get a word in. He would have stood by them, but they all gave him so a hard time and Bridget jumped to conclusions without talking about anything knowing he wasn’t wanting to spill their relationship just yet. It made me mad that she would react like this and just let him walk away, I know her past was painful, but Chase proved him self over and over again how much he changed, but they couldn’t see beyond his past which they all had. Overall this was such a great read and I loved the suspense, steam, laughter, and I am so curious about Ben’s mystery woman.

4.5 Star Review Worth The Chase by J.D. Hollyfield

J.D Hollyfield is a relatively new author to me but what I have read I have enjoyed. Worth The Chase was an entertaining read about Chase and Bridget.

Chase never planned on falling in love until Bridget came into his life. He thought it would be one night of passion and fun but somehow she got under his skin and had him questioning his beliefs.

Having met Chase in a previous book and loving his character I could not wait to see what J.D. Hollyfield had in store for him. I knew that the woman who would finally capture this players heart would need to be special and I was right.

There were moments where I laughed out loud, I teared up and moments where I found myself with a wide smile on my face. My heart really went out to Bridget and all that she has been through. She deserved to find happiness and I was so glad that Chase is the man to bring it to her.

The chemistry between them is intense and I loved watching as their relationship went from a one night stand to a forever love.

Worth the Chase has it all, it’s funny, it’s steamy, it’s emotional and it has wonderful characters. This is bad boy Chase and Bridget’s journey and let me just say you will love this entertaining yet emotional read.
Chase was not looking for a relationship, he is only ever looking for hook ups until Bridget walked into his life. Who would have thought one night of passion would turn this bad boy into a love sick puppy, who would have thought Bridget would really get under his skin ……
This book ticked all m boxes, I laughed, I swooned, I sighed and I shed a tear, I fell hard and fast for Chase and I adored Bridget but what I loved the most was watching this couple go from one night of passion to forever love. This book will appeal to a wide range of audiences and I highly recommend this gem of a read.

Worth the Chase by JD Hollyfield.

One of my very fav authors and very fav Tiktokers has written a new book and lord I laughed my ass off at times, swooned at times and absolutely wanted to throw my kindle across the room at times.  Talk about all the feels and I absolutely loved it!!!

Chase loved to chase women, but just a one-night stand type of deal. No strings attached.  He didn't fall in love until that one night sitting in a bar and in walked this beautiful blonde woman and she is what he thought checked off all the boxes on his list.  He thought she was his next conquest, but she may have broken through that wall he put up around his heart and he may see her again??

Y'all, Worth the Chase will release in a few short days.  Make sure this book is on your list to read ASAP.  Sooo dang good and definitely your next 5 star read!!! xo

Worth The Chase by J.D. Hollyfield is the story of Bridget and Chase.
Chase has been watching as those around him have been finding their love but he is a firm believer that he is just a one and done guy. But then he meets Bridget at a bar and they have their one night but he ends up meeting her again which leads to him still wanting more. Bridget past doesn't allow her to trust her future with someone so she thought she just had the one night with Chase but then he unexpectedly popped back up in her life. They both feel the pull to the other but they both thought it was a one and done night. Enjoyed reading their story and hope to read more from this author.

I connected with Bridget, but never fully connected/liked Chase. I also felt like there were books before this one that I should have read, but I can't find that this is part of a series at all. The suspense/action at the end of the book bumped the rating up for me. However, there was one thing I didn't feel was resolved -

This is my first J.D. Hollyfield book and I wasn't disappointed! It was so good! I loved the characters and their growth in this book. The storyline was well written and I was intrigued from the beginning!
Chase is a "player" who never saw himself falling in love and finding the "one". However, that all changes when he runs into Bridget one night in a bar. Bridget is a strong, independent woman who has been through so much in her young life and finds herself opening up to love again with Chase.
I loved their chemistry. Chase is so funny and I loved his character so much! I definitely recommend!

CHASE
Hit it and quit it. That's always been my motto. Falling in love is for chumps and I vow to never go down that road again. So when a bombshell blonde approaches me at the bar looking to hook up, I am more that willing to oblige. One night ins my limit, but after our night of passion, I would changed my rules for another round with her. Shame, the only proof she even existed is the lingering scent of cherries and the darn smile I can't get rid of. Or, so I thought.
BRIDGET
Losing the love of your life puts your whole world into perspective, especially when the one man who is supposed to protect you is the very man who took it all away. I'm done feeling betrayed. From now on I make the rules. And currently, my eyes are set on the tan, muscular guy sitting at the bar. I don't know him... He doesn't know me. On night together is exactly what I need. But when I open the front door to my cousin's house, and I see him standing on the other side...that's the moment everything gets complicated.

This is the story of Chase and Bridget. Chases is our single male playboy who has been and has not trouble living that single life. He likes it that way. One night and he is done. He doesn't have to see the girl again. He doesn't take her for breakfast and make false promises. He also knows how to give his buddies a really hard time for having their serious girlfriends and settling down. After a night he hopes he never forgets and for once in his life would like a repeat. While visiting his best friend one day his cousin just happens to show up and it is Bridget the girl he has been looking to figure out who she is and now that puts Chase in the position of having to realize what he did with his best friends cousin. The girl her cousin cares very much for at that. Sounds like a mess. Well the mess isn't really anything yet but trust me it will be. I really had fund reading this book and I loved the characters too.

Chase is a player. He sleeps with many but stays with none. Until he has a hook-up with a woman in a bar who turns out to be his friend’s younger cousin. Bridget can’t believe it when her one night stand turns up at her cousin’s wedding party. They were never supposed to see each other again. Now he’s obsessed with her and is turning up everywhere she works. They’ve both got baggage, she doesn’t want to be anything more than friends, but he’s cute. And awkward. And funny. She knows this is a bad idea. Then again, sleeping with him to begin with was a bad idea. What’s one more?

Dude on the cover has great eyebrows. I’m jealous.
Chase is kind of misogynistic at the beginning that it’s a relief to his character that he babbles and gets nervous easily. In fact, the author seemed to know that his “manly man” traits were less than desirable and broke the ice with awkwardness and Twilight.
I will admit to being extremely annoyed by how much he lies to his friends about being in a relationship because it’s with Kip’s cousin. Like, dude, stop lying. Just tell them you’re in a relationship but don’t tell them who with. Then, you won’t be lying or annoying the crap out of Ben. If your first instinct is to deny a relationship and hide it, you aren’t ready to be in one. Full stop.
When it all inevitably blows up, he tries to stop her leaving by telling her she misunderstood exactly what he said, that the lies have made his life difficult. Newsflash, man, those were choices you made. No one twisted your arm to force you except maybe your pride and your cowardice. Sucks to suck, my dude.

Despite that, I did like the book. Human beings are all different so when I’m reading, I’ll let the things that irk me slide off unless I find them intolerable. Even though I sometimes wanted to slap Chase, in real life I’ve been friends with him before. Or, you know, people like him. So, I would recommend the book.

***5 Stars***

Hello rollercoaster of emotions…and, no, I’m not just saying that to say it…this baby goes big. I laughed, snort laughed, rolled my eyes so much they, got whiplash AND got all kinds of teary eyed and sniffly (that last one does not happen often) and am pleasantly surprised to say that I enjoyed it all.

Now, I know saying that I’m surprised I enjoyed the book can make one go wha? But, I have a good reason…that reason is I did not like Chase in Chicks, Man. Like…AT. ALL. He was a NOPE with lots of exclamation points following it, but now? He is still a bit OTT for my liking, but I can say I love the guy. And Bridget? She was all kinds of sweet and snarky. She has her demons that she needs to work through, but she has moxie and I just liked the girl.

As for the journey to their HEA. It was a crazy rollercoaster of a ride. Both have their own issues to work through and all that, but they had a great flow and just worked well together for me. As for the bumps, there were many, not gonna lie and when the big one drops, it wasn’t a surprise ~ cringe worthy, yes ~ but not a surprise, but the “reconciliation” was definitely not one I saw coming, but it worked and I’m happy they got everything worked out.

This book is a crazy ride (I’ve said that a few times already) but it’s true. It’s got a little bit of everything and then some. There are some situations that some may find triggering, but they are all apart of the growth and evolution of Chase and Bridget individually and as a couple. But it was fun to catch up with Levi and Hannah and Kip and Stacey, and I hope we get more of Jonathan and Anna at some point down the road, but it looks like Ben (who I like) is up on the chopping block next and it looks like it’s gonna be another crazy ride.

Worth the Chase is so worth the read. I have been waiting for this story since I read Chicks man (that’s Hannah and Levi’s story). It was so good to watch Chase fall for Bridget. After all the crap he gave Levi, hahahah! Complete page turner for me. It’s funny, sad, sweet, sexy, and the thriller/action plot line added in was so good. I wasn’t expecting it in the best way possible💜💜

I had so much fun reading Chase chase Bridget. The chemistry between these two was so hot right from the beginning. They definitely gave me new ideas when it comes to frosting and sprinkles. There was some serious sexiness in these pages; including role playing, dirty talk, and swoony flirting.

I love stories when both the leads are broken, and find what they were missing when they least expect it. That's exactly what transpires between Chase and Bridget. Chase, determined to be a player and avoid love after getting his heart broken, meets Bridge in a bar. Bridge is going through her own heartbreak. Meeting Chase was unexpected. She was looking to lose herself for one night only. Unlucky for her, she runs into Chase at her cousin's engagement party. Chase goes full on in wanting answers but instead finds himself completely obsessed and into Bridget. All kinds of crazy things happen and these two find their HEA. A super sweet one!

Chase acts like a douche, but he is so freaking sexy and cute. He just hides it all under bravado to protect himself. Chase is actually amazing, swoony and has some seriously great taste in chick flicks. #BookBoyfriend approved!!

This is a one night stand to love romcom. It can be read as a stand alone. There are
interconnecting characters from other stories.

I hope we get a chance to see Anna and Jonathon in the future. My mind is spinning with questions. I need answers JDH!

The Chase was my first read by J.D. Hollyfield. It is part of an interconnected series. Books can be read as standalone’s, but I think for enjoyment value and to get to know all the players, books should be read in order. Crumbs for the next book are left to intrigue us. This book is high on humor, low on angst, gives us some suspense, and LOTS of heat. Chase and Bridget are couple goals. This book was so easy to get sucked into. And, these characters were so easy to fall for and have you want all the good things to happen to them. I love watching the eternal playboy fall and fall HARD. I love a strong h, comfortable in her sexuality and demanding of her worth. The ways these two end up completing one another and the way the tribe grows stronger had me so hooked. I’m a total fan.

Chase, the player in his group of friends, who is extremely annoyed about how happy and in love his friends seem to be. As he is contemplating how the mighty have fallen at the bar, he finds himself staring at an Angel, at a loss for words, stuttering and wondering what in the actual hell has happened to him.

When he shows up at his best friends for a barbecue and surprise proposal he couldn’t be more shocked by who answers the door. His best friends cousin who happens to be his bedmate from last night.

Bridget, lost her first love two years ago, and is held back from living her life fully because of guilt. And, just when she decided to step out and embrace life, it comes with all the strings.

Chase is relentless. Bridget tries to draw lines. Chase obliterates them. They breathe life and the idea of possibilities back into one another.

But, both of their pasts will come roaring back into their relationship.

🍻 ARC REVIEW 🍻
Review: 3.5/5 ⭐️
Steam: 4/5 🔥

#worththechase is the newest steamy read by @authorjdhollyfield

Chase is a total playboy. His past made him slightly bitter in regards to love. His best friends are happy in relationships, but he feels like they are being taken away from him. Determined to find a new girl for the night, he goes out out to the bar, but gets a shock when the woman next to him stops his world. She’s fallen into his life and made him want things he didn’t know he still felt. But will his friends and his past come and shoot his future away?

Bridget had her heart broken in the past and is getting tired of living under her parents rule. To rebel, she’s out at a bar looking for a night to escape her daily grind. This guy is someone she thinks she’ll never see again, Until she realizes he’s best friends with her cousin. She tries to stay away, but there’s a pull that keeps her going back to spend time with him, as much as she wants to stay away there’s something special about him. She thinks her time for happiness has finally come until it’s shattered in seconds. Can she fight the demons of her past for a shot at true love?

Overall I enjoyed the book. There was a lot of heat, some angst and a couple twists I didn’t see coming. Bridget deserved more than she thought, but I can understand why she felt so broken. Chase was a dirty talking playboy. I liked his character and how persistent he was, but was also a little turned off by his sudden switch in feelings when it came to woman. Definitely a good read and I’d absolutely read another book if it came out with the same group.

Worth the Chase by JD Hollyfield was a super fun romantic comedy. Chase and Bridget had me swooning and laughing. Chase has been footloose and fancy-free since getting his heart broken years before. Now he’s in it for only one night and zero romantic feelings. One night Bridget approaches him in a bar and they spend a wild night together. Chase is ready to break his one night only for another night with Bridget but when Chase wakes up, Bridget is gone with just her lingering smell to keep him company. When the unbelievable happens and Chase is knocking on Bridget’s cousin’s door and… BAM… there stands Bridget.

I’m never a big fan of players but watching them fall for the strong and resistant heroine is the BEST!! Chase is completely charming. He’s just so adorable, so goofy that I couldn’t help but adore this man. These two both have a painful past that has caused them to close off their hearts. Little by little they find their hearts opening to the other. Can these two heal the other’s broken heart or will they just put in a bigger gap? I was totally captivated by the secondary characters, the family and friends, they kept me in laughter. I am so looking forward to this next installment

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
